I had the same problem and after a lot of trial and error I fixed it. What I did was loaded up Odin, but my phone in download mode, and then used Odin to flash this file to my phone which repartioned it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740558
And then after that used Odin again and went back to JDF release and then rooted my phone and then loaded up Clockwork Mod Recovery and then flashed Eugene's Franklin-Touch Wiz Update 3, redid the lag fix and used Odin to flash the best modem.bin and I was all set. I have on purpose bricked my phone at least 5 times and have always been able to recover it

JFD and chose Re-Partition in ODIN
I was flashing cwm recovery thru odin and my phone got stuck on boot screen. Now I CAN'T get into recovery, but I CAN get into odin mode. But when I try to flash a rom in odin, it fails and says, "Complete(Write) operation failed." Does anyone have an idea how to get my GS2 working?

Explain file what you are flashing for CWM recovery .
Reads as you have flashed a CWM file through ODIN .

I suppose you can get it to work as a paperweight...
I was trying to flash:
[KERNEL][2.3.4][cwm4.0.0.8] ⇒☆Jame Bond☆♡Care Bear♡ v①.⑦.③★Clockwork-Ra★
thru odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108499
or
Via Odin and download mode flash a stock rom is all i can suggest .
jje
ya I'm screwed
try choosing a different file. question though, do you have a nandroid back up?
I did this on my SGS.
I removed the battery, put it back after a while and then I could access download mode. Flashed a stock ROM via Odin and it went fine.
Good luck!
I tried flashing a few different files thru odin. It's kinda weird, if I flash a kernel, it will work and go green and pass. But any rom I try will go red and fail and give that error.
I did have nandroid backup from a long time ago. But there is no way I can get to that cuz I cant boot into recovery.
Thank god!! Thanks for your help folks!! Got it working with another usb cable!!! That was scary
Well done! And welcome to the "flash-a-cwm-mod-in-Odin-club"...

I downloaded the full 1.7GB N2 MJ9 md5 for odin, after I flashed the phone would just flash NOTE 2 logo over and over.I tried to re-flash it again in odin but it just fails, and now in download mode I see 4.3 stuff.
I keep trying to use odin 3.09 to reflash stock but it fails at NAND WRITE START

Mine did this exact same thing. I later found out that you have to run Odin again and only use a pit file. Basically bring up Odin, put your phone into Odin mode, connect it, on the right hand side of the Odin screen instead of clicking PDA, click PIT. Then point to your file and click start. The file name is sch-I605-16gb.pit. Only thing is that I am unsure where I downloaded it from. There is a video on youtube on that describes exactly how to do this and I think the links to the files are on that video.

the pit file failed, too.
Verizons SUA ended up working with restoring device.
I got the same issue. my phone was rooted with TWRP 2.6.3.2 and flashed to customized MJ9 in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578458&page=14
Later I would like to restore to factory default, so downloaded this firmware http://terafile.co/2146204d7383 and flashed using odin. the flash was successful, however, after it finished, it started to have the exact problem as you described.

Did you take 4.4.2 OTA?
Well have you tried rebooting into stock recovery(UP BUTTON, HOME BUTTON, POWER) and doing a factory reset..then reboot?
You should always flash a image or tar in Odin WITH the pit file..bc if no pit the image could end up anywhere(rare)..
So this is what I would do..
pull battery
un plug phone
reboot into Download Mode
plug phone into different USB port
ODIN see it?
If so good!
Try to reflash WITH pit file
Is there a guide anywhere for that? Can we just flash the odin if we have twrp and a custom rom installed?

I haven't done it myself because I don't have a custom recovery on this device yet but that's exactly how it worked on my S2 which I did custom recovery with. You can just flash in odin the full TAR of whatever stock you want and you'll be just fine, from your custom recovery it's probably a good idea to do a full wipe of everything. I googled "Galaxy S5 to stock" and I found a youtube video where they used Odin 3.09 for it. I'm used to Odin displaying green when the phone is plugged in but this time it was blue and turns out that's just how the newer Odin works. Cheers pal good luck!

Just flash the tar file in ODIN and you'll be back to stock.

Yea I flashed it in Odin and it worked fine. Thanks guys. I wasn't sure which slot to put the one .tar file in so I used AP and it worked with no problems.

Some versions say AP, some say PDA, some just gray out everything but PDA or AP. I've never been able to figure out why they're all different.
So, I recently accidentally deleted my /media/ folder and now when trying to boot to recovery it reboot, but will still go into Download mode. How can I fix this? I'm trying to unroot and update, I'm on ME7 - Verizon. Can I use ODIN to fix this?
Odin should do the trick, and you should odin to nc5, it has alot of great roms for safestrap. Just use odin 3.07 and above, and download the full wipe .tar of what version you want, and odin back to stock

I was able to get ODIN to do what I wanted, but when I tried to flash NG6 over NC5 to downgrade, it didn't let me, and gave me the fused 6 binary 5 issue. How do I fix this?
I think this could possibly help. Just follow the no wipe instructions and you should be good. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/general/downgrade-ng6-to-nc5-t2910933
