This is just a compilation of all the issues people face with the phones and the answers to those.
Q: Where can I find all things related to XOLO Play?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365992
Q: Is there a custom ROM for XOLO Play?
All custom ROM's are listed in first page of this thread.
Q: My GPS does work properly.
There is an issue with the GPS on Stock ROM.
There are few things you can do to improve this.
Install GPS Toolbox from Play Store.
Make sure you are in clear view of the sky, Achieve a perfect lock before starting to move.
Q: I have bad signal reception.
This is a known issue with XOLO Play and most other Tegra 3 devices including the One X. There is currently no fix in the Stock ROM
Q: How to check Build Number?
Go to settings -> About Phone -> Build Number
Q: I have bad Wi-Fi connectivity.
This is a known issue with XOLO Play and this is partly fixed with the new OTA update (Build number XOLO_Play_S016).
Alternatively you can also try to factory reset your phone or restart your modem and phone.
Q: Games and videos are lagging.
If you made the OTA update, (Build number XOLO_Play_S015). then revert to Stock ROM (Build number XOLO_Play_S014) or perform one more update to Build number XOLO_Play_S016.
If you still face problem, then see below on how to improve Benchmarks score.
Q: I get low benchmark scores.
Remember that benchmark scores don't mean anything about performance. They are just numbers. Follow the steps only if you are willing to take the risk.
If you're facing lags in games, update to Build number XOLO_Play_S016 and still want better performance, then go ahead.
Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399411
Q: My phone is heating up too much.
This phone is know to heat up during heavy gaming.
If you want to reduce heat, use the OTA update(Build number XOLO_Play_S016).
Q: I want gaming performance but I don't want the phone to heat up.
You can't have the best of both worlds. You can either have performance (see above on how to improve benchmark score) or you can solve heat issue (see above)
Q: My phone doesn't unlock / Only Menu,Home,Options (Capacitive keys) light up / Facing Sleep of Death (SOD).
This is a known issue and the OTA update (Build number XOLO_Play_S016) solves it partially.
Q: I'm facing battery drain.
Known issue with this phone.
You can use deep sleep battery saver pro (after disabling xolo power app. see below on how to disable bloat)
You can also update your phone by OTA (Build number XOLO_Play_S016). This solves battery issue a little but adds some lag to games and videos.
Q: How long does the battery usually last?
With Battery Saver Apps and moderate (no heavy gaming) usage, it will last 8 to 10 hours.
Gaming will reduce it to a few hours or less depending on the game.
Q: I want to update the latest OTA update from XOLO. How can I get that?
Go to settings->about phone->Software update and check for updates, then follow instructions.
Q: What are the requirements for an OTA update?
You must be on the Stock odexed ROM. This is the only requirement.
Q: Where can I get the Stock odexed ROM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391669
Q: I am getting an error during OTA update.
Some apps modify the build.prop file so a signature check will fail and update will be unsuccessful.
If you're not already on the Stock odexed ROM, get it from the above question.
Then also flash the build.prop.zip from the same link.
Try the update now.
Q: My phone shows two network indicators in notification panel after OTA update.
This is an error due to the OTA update. No solution available as of now.
Q: How do I revert the OTA update?
Flash the Stock ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391669
Q: What are the requirements to flash a Stock ROM?
There is NO NEED for root.
You must flash a custom recovery.
Q: Do I need to unlock my Boot loader?
The bootloader of this phone is already unlocked.
Q: What is a bootloader? What is a recovery? What is a custom recovery?
A bootloader is the first thing that loads in a phone which governs everything else. You can make any changes to the phone through this.
A recovery is a place through which some minor changes like backup/restore, flashing a ROM etc is done.
A custom recovery is when you have more options than a stock recovery.
Q: Do I need to root in order to flash Stock ROM or Recovery?
NO
Q: I flashed recovery but on reboot, it shows stock recovery
After flashing, staying in Fastboot mode, pull out battery and put back in.
Press and hold power button till phone switches off.
Reboot into recovery using volume down and power button combo.
Now after rebooting, if its cwm recovery, it will ask "Disable recovery flash?" Click "Yes"
Q: Will my warranty be void?
Your warranty will be void only if XOLO comes to know that you tampered the phone.
To prevent this, we can always restore Stock ROM and recovery before claiming warranty.
You will also lose warranty if you use the Official root procedure by dialing a code in the phone dialer.
Q: Should I root? Everybody is doing it.
Don't do it just because everybody does it.
Q: What are the benefits of rooting?
No special benefits(unless you are an expert user). Risks? MANY.
Q: My phone doesn't get detected in my PC. Where can I get drivers? ADB/Fastboot doesn't work
You are missing drivers. Check the first question.
Q: Drivers are installed but shows waiting for device.

Worth Buying ?? So many problems ? is it worth Buying ? I was going to replace my lg p690 with this but after going through all the t1000 problems user face. its certainly no no... no custom rom, no custom kernel, virtually no blog to support this device. So its always better to buy from reputed companies like LG, Samsung or HTC. ?
can we overclock this device ? swap support in kernel ? ext4 support on microsd ? Does 64 GB microsd work ?
I read that SAR value in xolo phones are very high compare to others.
xolo x1000 = 1.30 W/kg (head) 1.22 W/kg (body)
did the company expect buyers to show interest only bcoz of Intel Inside or Tegra chipset ? and forget other aspects of a smartphone.

I agree that the company has poor software installed. There is now a new update which has enabled daily driver like usage. If you do have the buck it is always recommended to go for a reputed brand, YES.

I agree reputed brands can't be compared with xolo or micromax, as they cost almost twice in comparison, But I xolo should atleast provide proper software support to basic functions like signal issues, overheating, anytime restarts etc., lots of xolo buyers face the similar problems be it X1000 or T1000 or X900. I hope they get the basics right.
Love the specifications of almost of all xolo phones and wish they bring proper s/w updates and support for xolo fans.
Hey guys , the one issue which gives only two indicators has been fixed,
1. Download update from the Xolo site.
2.Extract it , youll find update.zip package.
3.place the zip file in the INTERNAl MEMORY (it has to be in the internal memory) not inside any folders, flash it using Xolo care.
4. Go to Settings > About >Phone , you'll see a new base band version. 3.3.5 this will fix the low signal issue

Crackling sound
Hello, I don't know if I'm posting it in the correct thread or not.
I have t bought the XOLO T1000, but apparently, I'm facing a problem i.e., after making a call for 1 minute, the sound deteriorates, i.e., it starts to crackle(seems like aliens are talking on the other side) and the other person is unable to hear my voice.
I changed the device and used my Xperia Sola and the same sim worked fine but in this device, this problem is coming. I did a clean wipe of the whole system and sd card(internal and external) yet the problem is unresolved.
Assistance required urgently.
Thanks you

how to access engineer mode on xolo play
earpiece volume is too low, not audible in noisy place. can anyone tell me the secrete code to access engineer mode to increase it volume, or any other method available. *#*#3646633#*#* doesn't works
HI Friends,
I am pretty new to these things.
Needed help in two seperate devices.
1. MOTO E (FIRST GEN)
Want to recover data but problems are not working touch and USB debugging Disabled with pattern lock. I had tried changing Display and touch through service center but after a week service person told me that there is a unrepairable fault in the pcb of phone due to which sometimes the display light up and some times doesn't. He suggested me to purchase another phone instead of getting it repaired but the data in phone is important.
I had been trying different methods to get data via abd but as usb debugging is disable.
I can boot in recovery mode.
Custom kernels do have usb debugging enabled by default ?
Will flashing any custom kernel can permit me to take backup or any other suggestions ?
2. I ball Andi 4.5z Ram only 512 mb. (Unable to post links for being New)
Can anybody provide me some Custom ROM suggestions to flash it to kitkat or lollipop(if possible).
will prefer if any slim /lite rom with basic functions.Just need to talk sms and few small games.Rom must support Call Recording unlike samsung rom and as close to stock android as possible.
Hardware Specs are http://forum.xda-developers.com/album.php?albumid=12506&pictureid=50414
Hoping for some good suggestions.

heres the quick specification of my phone

reflashing your phone wont save it from locking up again when it connects to a network where which you have saved the privacy protection code and it has a high chance to have an incomplete firmware that would result to camera operation failure. i think there are four types of stock rom of CM J1plus specifically made for each network provider. a security feature Cherry Mobile did. but renders their units a piece of junk when software fails and the Consumer fault of switching SIMs. i have nine CM j1 plus on my junk box. all working but locksup when SIM inserted. i have almost successfully flashed two but both lost its camera functions, one has the front cam working but the rear is not detected, the other has the rear cam working but reddish image and disabled front cam. both from different firmwares.
---------- Post added at 04:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:19 AM ----------
here's the only flasher that works for CM J1plus and MT6850's units
http://spflashtools.com/wp-content/uploads/SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628_Win.zip
and look for a suitable firmware for you at 4shared
GSM website are greedy for their files which i cant blame them for....
MT6580__Cherry_Mobile__FLARE_J1_PLUS__FLARE_J1_PLUS__6.0__alps-mp-m0.mp1-V2.34_vz6580.weg.i.m
thats the file name that has complete files i dont know if it will be ok for the camera of your unit.
theres a trick in that file it has no file extension but it can be extracted using 7zip
http://www.4s.io/file/sPWQTrAVce/Cherry_Mobile__FLARE_J1_PLUS.htm
thats the working rom besure to choose format-download option.
and dont insert your sim or connect to wifi after flashing... it will first give you an invalid imei. enable dev option in setting and enable usb debugging. then disable app privacyprotection then reboot
after reboot try to connect to wifi DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE FROM OTA it will boot loop. i dont know the reason but even cherry mobile has that problem warning their customers. new flashing has no root its even oem locked and cannot be rooted.
Since I've been getting requests lately due to Google's updated Google Drive policy - here's the updated share link for the M4 Aqua kernels:

several improvements to the sound driver
and other changes too small to mention separately
optimized kernel config to speed up booting and slim down bloat
4.9 Linaro Toolchain
optimized flags to allow further optimizations and better stability
Installation
M4 Aqua - Booting into fastboot mode
Getting into Fastboot - From the system (Android):
adb reboot bootloader
Getting into Fastboot - Alternatively (while the phone is off):
Shutdown down the phone (power it off):
Connect the USB cable to your phone (your phone only !)
Press the Volume DOWN button, keep it pressed ...
Connect the other end of the USB cable to your PC/Mac, etc. and release the Volume DOWN button
That should get you into fastboot mode (led is blue)
Additionally you can check from your PC/Mac/Linux system if the device is there: fastboot devices
Finally - Flashing the Kernel (from Fastboot)
(WiFi might NOT work ! - thus flashing from TWRP/recovery is most times better (copying updated WiFi module))
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
Flashing the Kernel via TWRP/Recovery
Booting into TWRP
Press the Volume DOWN button, keep it pressed
While pressing the Volume DOWN button also press the Power Button
As soon as the screen turns on and you see the Sony logo ("splash"), release the Power Button - now ONLY keeping the Volume DOWN button pressed
When you see the TWRP Logo ("splash" / screen), release the Volume DOWN button
Once you are IN TWRP, the select the folder where the Kernel zip-file was copied to and flash ("install") it
(you must have flashed TWRP via fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img before to boot into recovery !)

The kernel currently is at a pretty early stage,
so bear with me - it's totally not where I want it to be (FauxSound, memory management improvements, even more battery/idle reductions, smoother operation, etc.)
but lack of time and focus on Xperia Z5* devices doesn't allow me to focus on it right now ...
First of all, thank you so much for diving into the development of this device. I was eager to get something like this from you and I honored to have it now and here.
At first, the kernel seems stable. There was quite a big lag at the first start up and it took a while for the WiFi to turn on but it's fine. I can't see any hotplug included in the kernel and SuperSU binaries are outdated. It seems like there isn't also undervolt and underclock included. The GPU idles at 400MHz which isn't quite power efficient. Overall it's good for a start. I also have a question which is for the touchscreen drivers for this phone. No matter the kernel, stock or custom, there are problems with the random shutting down of the touchscreen or going nuts (scrolling and pressing by itself randomly). I'm looking that the logs and it seems like that the cyttsp5 driver isn't functioning properly on the E2303 variant. I've attached dmesg and klog so you can take a look at it. Also, I'm not the only one with this problem, there are much more users in Q&A and on random forums and YouTube.

Of course you can
How does it compare to other kernels?
Does this kernel work with the Pexo rom?
I really REALLY want a kernel that has proper undervolt tables, because I can't stand my phone overheating randomly. Using Skymelon 9, it's alright but brings problems like overheating since it's running at higher frequency and the phone is already semi-snappy and I am not really gaming, since no games work that I like. For instance Shadowverse or Fate Grand Order. First game stutters and audio is distorted, while second game won't launch because phone is rooted.

Mobile data works here. For performance governor fix get the original init.qcom.post-boot.sh and put it in system/etc
@DavidMKD Its shows that mobile data is enabled, but there is no icon for 3g/LTE and every app report that phone is offline when WiFi is OFF. Enabling and disabling of mobile data don't helps.
Which version of M4 you have? Thanks for "performance fix", I will try to find proper file to replace inside system/etc or you can share it?
Edit: I found correct file and replace it and now kernel governor is interactive , only problem with mobile data remain, hopefully @zacharias.maladroit will fix soon.

Okay, updated the OP / first post with clearer instructions to get into Recovery,
LOT of folks are trying to mess with M4 Aqua users by posting WRONG instructions on how to get into fastboot or TWRP/recovery.
I thought I was (or Sony) going crazy with those differing Button combinations from M4 Aqua and Xperia Z5 but it's THE SAME !

Consider it done (take a look at the kernel folder) [ https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BykGGWB96CBQUFhXbG5sRUZMMWM ]
The kernel is still experimental and more of a proof of concept:
The iddd (idd daemon - or close to that name) is crashing and force-closing continually (last time I checked),
thus I renamed and moved it to the internal storage so that the Android/init system deactivates it
Thanks to @dani020110 for pointing at the offending commit that would cause the crashing of the new kernel
Kernel source is at:

@zacharias.maladroit I can't download from your link - message "not found, error 404" appear.

I own an OPPO find X PAFM00 and I love the phone, it is super fast, the battery is reasonable gives for
normal day use, the screen was the biggest factor of the purchase of this mobile phone, but my version
has some problems that it seems that does not happen with the users of this site.
Apart from the "normal" problem of the applications closing completely and not receiving notifications,
due to the battery management of this phone and after all possible and imaginable attempts described
in this site as workaround, were unsuccessful and this version of me has some problems that I think
they do not happen to other users, at least to my knowledge.
I'm going to list all my problems found so far:
• Rom version: PAFM00_11_D.01 _ *** (Image 1 and 2 in appendix) This version has no information
about it, neither on the mobile phone itself nor on Google;
• This rom never received updates, nor with VPN's of Taiwan for example;
• Inability to install apk "In_depth_test" (Image 3 attached);
• Impossibility to Update ColorOS version 5.2.1 (Image 4 attached);
• Recovery mode does not work: Vol - and Power button.
• Phone name in OPPO ID as "OPPO Reno 10 ***"; (Picture 5 attached).
I would like to know if anyone has any of these issues mentioned here and if it is possible to upgrade to
a more upgraded version such as the ROM 300 A.30.
Hi since downloading latest update my phone does not open attachments from email. It just comes up with a stupid cartoon cat that says oops..try again. Please any ideas?
