Problems with wifi with gps activated - Xiaomi Mi A3 Questions & Answers

I have been experiencing problems with my MI A3, I have had inconsistencies in the connection of the Wi-Fi, to any Wi-Fi that I connect, the connection may be bad due to latency, I will attach screenshots with the results. This did not happen to me before, and I checked with other phones the connection with the router and it is normal, it is giving me problems with my phone.
I am in the global stock rom, with the September security patch, to be more precise version V11.0.21.0.QFQMIXM. I used the MIUI 12 port and I have the same problems, why is this?
This greatly affects gaming on the phone, as well as downloads and video calls

After having switched between roms and roms doing more tests regarding the wifi, between roms with stock vendor and oss vendor, I discovered that it is about interference related to the use of the gps while the wifi is active.
The speed of the link with the Wi-Fi is greatly affected by the use of the GPS, while the GPS is completely disabled, the connection to the Wi-Fi is completely normal, the link speed does not vary and the latency or ping is correct
The strange thing is that this did not happen before, about a month ago, I could use the phone normally with the wifi network and the gps activated at the same time and the connection was normal

CM7 super slow wifi issues

Anyone else seeing this so far? The connection says it's strong with 59mb connection but downloads from the store run roughly 8kbps and don't even think about watching netflix or streaming music. I'm on an N router with WPA2 psk encryption. i'm going to tinker with the different encryption options and see if no encryption changes my results but i'm not optimistic about that. thanks for any help.
zero security = no change in speeds.
I noticed some intermittent connectivity issues -- signal strength went down to nothing, then full again. I was sitting only about 8 feet away from my 2Wire g-router.
Mine works great try reflashing if that doesn't fix it doctor your web os part then reflash I was having issues and it fixed mine
It's normal and a known issue.
Encryption doesn't matter, had problems on open wifi and wpa2-psk wifi, had problems with 5ghz wifi as well. It worked, then it didn't. Wifi settings froze the TP.
Boot into webos and everything works fine.
Mine is super fast, usually 1,5-2MB/s on Android market. I don't use any encryptions, but MAC filter
I really haven't had any wifi issues, Definitely haven't noticed a decrease in speed. The only problem I've had is swapping from one network to the next, It will cycle between connecting and searching. If I just turn off wifi and turn it back on it will connect fine.

Try changing your channel: http://androidforums.com/hp-touchpad/429699-wifi-channel-optimizing.html
Every once in awhile after the pad has been sleeping, upon wake i have to toggle Wifi off then on...then it continues working as usual.
Other than that, has been normal operating speed for me.

[Q] Connection issues

Hey everyone, I got myself a Z2 recently and have been very happy about it for the most part. However, some things seem to not function a 100% the way it's supposed to.
Some times after it's been to sleep and I try browsing online with it using either 3g/4g or wifi the phone says it has a connection, but nothing loads. All I have to do to solve this is to refresh the wifi/3g connection manually, and then it works. It's rather annoying to always go through that procedure every time I want to use my phone, so I'm wondering is there anything I can do about this? Or anyone experienced anything similar?
Vegard
I have the same issue with WiFi while the phone sleeps or is active (no probs with mobile data though!), but I was not able to determine whether it's my router, the phone, or a combination of the two (though I have a hunch).
When I'm in my room which is unfortunately the farthest from the router, and the connection drops, my Z2 is not able to reconnect on its own. Have to disable/enable WiFi or else it's stuck in an infinite loop of connecting and obtaining an IP.
Now, I'm fine with a dropping connection occasionally given the distance and the... quality of my router. However, my laptop is able to reconnect automatically.
I have tried lots of possible solutions: WiFi sleep policy, static IP or DHCP, disabling/enabling WiFi optimisation or Auto-IP, switching WiFi channels, and various WiFi fixer apps. Nothing worked.
My guess? There is a bug in the stock firmware that makes the phone unable to reconnect if a connection is forcibly dropped . Pair this with a crappy router and you have a recipe for inconvenience.
Unfortunately, I have no spare router to confirm this, and with the bugs in CyanogenMod I am reluctant to flash for now.
Also, I am sure this is not a hardware fault of the phone in my case since I notice this behaviour at home in my network only.
Do you guys possibly know where I could find some logs related WiFi? I wanna get to the bottom of this.

[Q] i9300 wifi signal/connection issues - Murata vs Samsung module

Hello team,
My Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 (international version) started to have wifi problems after stock update to 4.1.2. After that, I´ve tried many software and hardware fixes, including changing the wifi antenna cable. The result was the same, so I decided to try custom ROMs and came straight to CM11.
The wifi signal is very weak, and I can only connect from a few meters from the router
Installed CM11, full wipe cache/data/dalvik and still the same problem, weak wifi, connection only from if close to the wireless router.
Reading all the forums on XDA and CyanogenMod, I found the wifi-fix patch, which writes "murata" on the /data/.cid.info. This fix brought me powerful wireless signal, and now I get full signal bar to my router and even see many neighbor APs... but I am not able to connect. When I try to connect, type de password and than it just goes back to "Saved, protected by WPA/WPA2". I´ve also disabled authentication on the wireless router, and the result is the same. It won't connect not even to open networks, although I see strong signal.
Deleted the wifi_fix patch (delete ¨91fixwifi¨ on init.d, delete ¨.cid.info¨ under /data and rebooting), and went back to old status: very weak wifi signal, but able to connect (associate) if I´m very close to the router.
Turned wifi on and off, airplane on and off, captured log on "Murata" and "Samsung" modes...
Strange is that my wlan mac address is 88:32:9b:xx:xx:xx, which seems to be Samsung, but the Murata brings me powerful signal (although I cannot connect).
Well, I´ve tried many solutions so far, but that´s how far I could go...
Can anyone provide me some clue to solve it? I would be very thankful to have wifi back to my phone.
Log files are in attachment
Murata log (strong wifi, not able to connect)
Samsung log (weak wifi, able to connect when very close to wireless router)
Thank you all!
I too have only a range of 3 metres, I have 7 routers in the house because of this, yet I have less than 15% coverage of the house with this device. To put that in perspective, an HTC One X and Atrix 2 has 90% coverage with 2 routers. I'm 1 metre from the router in my room and I've got 1 bar, sometimes 2 briefly.
[Edit]
Woah, I tried the fix from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/cm9-i9300-advice-t1898004/post41394293
Seeing as it can easily be reverted, it displays very high signal. What I'd expect. But it doesn't let me connect either. I also tried CM10.1 like the people who it worked for, it didn't work.

[Q] Crippling Wifi issues - Please help

Hello everyone,
I'm a longtime lurker of XDA ever since I switched from my Palm Pre (RIP) to an HTC Evo 3D. I created an account finally to post this question and I'm hoping someone can help because I am at the end of my rope.
My Nexus 9 has a wifi issue that cripples my entire network. First, I'll give you the details of my configuration and the problems I'm running into:
Running an ASUS RT-AC66R on Centurylink DSL. I have tried both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands. I have tried multiple channels per band with no effect on the issues listed below. The 5GHz band is currently disabled.
Unless I am am running the factory image that came with the N9, my wifi connection will almost completely dry up across every device on the network when the N9 is connected. As far as I know, this only happens on my home network.
Restoring the N9 to factory settings - which I have now done twice since purchasing it on Nov 3 - eliminates this problem almost entirely until I install the OTA update. This problem happened with both the day one patch and persists in the recent update to 5.0.1.
If I am playing my PS4 or streaming Netflix (or anything that requires a connection), I notice the connection speed rapidly drops to somewhere in the range of 0-5 kb/s as soon as my N9 connects to the network. When I deactivate the N9's wifi, the connection returns to normal speed immediately.
I am still connected to the network when speeds are low, but data crawls. I am able to connect to the router's config page and can see that traffic caps out at about 5kb/s down and 60 kb/s up.
Here are some of the fixes I've attempted, which all failed to produce results:
resetting the router
resetting my modem
disconnecting all other devices
switching channels on the 2.4 and 5GHz bands manually
updating the firmware of the router
changing the network name
changing the network password
changing the network security type
I am typing this after having reset my N9 to factory settings for the second time to confirm that the issue lies within one of the firmware updates. Can someone please help a networking noob figure out how the connection of one device quickly (within 15 seconds) halts all traffic?
I should mention that the exact same issue was present on my N5 earlier this year (long before Lollipop arrived) but that it eventually worked itself out and stopped hijacking my network. Unfortunately without mobile data on my N9, it is essentially useless until I figure out the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help!
The first thing that came to mind is an ip conflict. Have you tried changing to a static ip on your nexus 9?
Edit: Also when your nexus 9 is connected check and make sure the ip address on your other devices jives w/ you router (you may need to make all devices static until you find the problem) I had the same router as you and i had a network switch that was throwing odd ip address to devices not even attached to it...
I updated to 5.0.1 again and didn't have any issues this time around. I went ahead and set a static IP anyways but I'll report back here if I have any issues. Thank you!

5GHz WIFI issue with Oero rom

I have experienced wifi issue, especially under 5Ghz in several roms, at least in one of the Lineageos 15.1 and Toxyc. These rom are nice and I have been using it with stock kernel.
The problem is that the WIFI internet connection will drop after several minutes of connection. However, the wifi connection is up but it has a little cross in the WIFI icon showing no internet connection, and the phone will start to use cellular data.
With some investigation, I can ping the router from the android, and ssh works as well. so I start to think if it is a router issue. However, all other 5Ghz devices are good and connected, and if I use another ROM (say the Lineageos 15.1 by LokManSiu), it will be fine to connect.
Then I try to traceroute a public address, and it fails, so it is not a DNS issue. So I started to suspect it is a default route issue. Any hint that how I can troubleshoot this issue? Thank you.
I didn't encounter this problem with Havoc os.
PS. Using agni kernel.
I have bad signal but dont problen with stability in 2.4 or 5ghz wifi (aosp extended 8.1)
