Can Android Boot to ClockworkMod if 0% battery? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, this may be old android related question.
I have galaxy s5 and volume button are broken literally cannot press anymore, I can only get into recovery/fastboot mode by using advanced option lineage os etc.
I remember from early 2012-2014 some users say it's best to use CWM recovery because they said if phone is 0% you just need to plug in usb charge, the phone will auto first will boot to recovery mode without press any key volume/home.
can anyone confirm this is true or not, thank you.

[Q] unable to power on my samsung galaxy GT-S5670

Hey friends, i am unable to switch on my phone. Its not booting normally, neither going to recovery mode nor downloading mode. There is no response on pressing the power button.
Things i did when it was on:
1.Rooted with superoneclick.
2.Installed ROM manager from market.
3. Tried reboot to recovery.
Then i didn't rebooted after shutting down.
Plzzzzzzz help me out.
yeah rom manager does cause problems...im assuming you already have a recovery flashed right?
yeah.....then whats d solution dude..??
Have just recovered from a semi-brick of GT S 5570 and installed gingerbread.
I read somewhere that you can remove the sim and sd card, battery and while pressing the key combo for download mode, AFTER the phone is connected to the PC, you can insert the battery.
May help - no assurances since I am myself a n00b. So wait till somebody bashes me for saying this

Can't get into download mode or recovery mode

I recently bought a rooted Galaxy S3 from a friend. The problem is I can't get into download mode or CWM recovery.
I tried installing CWM recovery using ROM manager (v5) but I got an error saying: "GT-9300 does not have an officiall supported CWM recovery yet.
The phone is on android version 4.1.1 at this moment.
Could you help me installing recovery?

No download mode then you have a faulty phone and require a service centre repair .
jje
You could try a usb jig to force into download mode. They're a couple of dollars / pounds whatever.
There's also a thread in general to find who could lend you one nearby

That seems a smart question I'm new to Samsung.
Download: Volume down, power on button and front button (home button) pushed in at the same time whilst the device is off to get into download. Result: I see the screen go on (screen is black but there's backlight) and after a couple of seconds it just boots the normal android system.
Recovery is volume up, power and home at the same time when the device is turned off. Same here, I see a response e.g. the backlight goes on but after a few seconds the phone boots up normally.
The booting proces takes longer than it normally does when just turning the device on. I think the software installed is causing this (the hardware seems to respond but it's like the software just ignores the input)

I'll keep my hands of the adb thing. I don't want to make my problem worse
In my country no one seems to know such a usb jig but I already found a place where I can order them
I just have to stick the thing in and wait for it to engage download mode before I plug in my normal data cable right?
Thanks for the help
So I believe. I've not used one myself

[Q] At&T Lg G2 can't access recovery mode

So I just got a new G2 with at&t that came installed with kitkat (g2 D800.)
Yesterday, the day I got it, there was an OTA to D80020u which had the Knock Code security feature. Anyways I'm trying to root my phone so I can add a volume mode to boost the headset volume levels. I was able to root the device using this method:
[forum won't let me post outside links but it was a andromod website with directions on rooting a g2 D80020u kitkat with IOroot script tested for 25r1 if that helps at all]
So yay its rooted, superuser permission and all. So I go to install the volume mode I was looking into and attempt to restart the phone in recovery mode by holding down the volume down + Power button until LG logo pops up then release and hold again.
Unfortunately now it won't load recovery mode so I'm unable to flash stuff onto the phone (at least to my knowledge). Instead of recovery mode it shows a black screen with white text saying:
[440] Fastboot mode started
[550] ---reset---
[560]---portchange---
[630]---reset---
[640]---portchange---
[740]fastbootrocessing commands
and thats hit. It wont do anything while in this mode but I can hold down the Power button and restart the phone and have it boot up like normal and run. I can access download mode by pressing Volume up while device is powered off.
Am I going to have to restock to stock? or is there some easy fix?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Sorry guys, total newb here. I derped pretty hard on this. Rooted the device and didn't install a custom recovery before trying to access recovery mode. Went with Teamwin and everything works as intended. Sorry for the waste of a post.

if you boot with power button + vol up + home button, enter the recovery menu?
if yes
Download one rom in your sd card and flash it

Hypothetical question: say that I erased every single piece of data on the phone drivers system files operating system etc.. How would I put all the drivers and need information back onto the phone with access to only the SW upgrading mode?

Power off phone, press volume up (hold it) and connect phone by usb to pc. SW mode should appear and you will be able to flash stock rom by official lg program

what do you mean that your phone is stuck at recovery mode? if not you can enable the developers option this is the steps
1.) Go to setting
2.) Go to About phone
3.) tap the build number 7 times
4.) now quit the setting then open it again
5.) scroll down then choose the developers option
thats how you open developers option
basically when I reboot turn off> it will "never" boot into normal mode. My phone is so broken that pressing power button only still boot into recovery mode, wipe data and reboot still into recovery mode.

your phone seems to be new which means that your volume keys are still new and good so thats not our problem here your phone didin't boot right? did you do something to your system phone like flashing or something? because if you do there is a big chance that you screw up something in your phone resulting it to be like that. now your phone can still be charge right there might be still a hope we just need to reflash your whole firmware ( if the problem is really a firmware) you said before you cant boot right then there must be a problem in the booting process, i tested this on my phone before i clean wipe my whole phone and that include system partition so when i tried to boot my phone it wont and when i charge it no logo would appear just like yours so im guessing that you phone partition is gone and like you said to its bricked now. if thats the case we need to flash the whole firmware

Thanks for reply>to avoid confusion no I did not do anything/flashing/even enable usb debugging to my OPPO A15S. I am total newbie that I flash Samsung J7 once only. The Oppo A15S yes it is 1-2 years only, volume key clicking works fine but after system update via setting>Official Oppo coloros things. My phone kinda messed up volume key not working<google results say because a lot of phone cannot boot up because of volume key. So should I pry open my phone to see the volume key? Or just wait until 1 day scheduled power up happens?
Logs:
Wednesday 5am my phone auto boot up in recovery mode.I press restart and the screen black nothing happens.
Thursday 5am no boot up
Friday no boot up too.
So I assume it is my phone power is low and somehow my auto scheduled power on force my phone to boot up? and that time system auto update causes my phone die in midway?

hmm i see you didnt do anything in your phone but you did say that you updated it right? while updating you phone did something happen? like rebooting? if so there might be a chance that it became corrupted because of ,that while in the case of your power button what kind of problem does it have? does it work correctly? or you cant click it like its stuck or something? or maybe the button is working correctly and your phone just doesnt boot up? if the button is really problem like google stated ----->
Why is my OPPO always in Recovery mode?
One of the most common causes is that one of the buttons used to access android system recovery is defective or malfunctioning. Now, you should first check if the physical buttons are responding properly, especially the volume buttons, before trying to get rid of the Android Recovery Mode.
you should probably check you physical button because that might be a problem and i just remembered i have the same problem in my sisters phone vivo y53 its always stuck in recovery mode and we are confused why did it happen so we bring it to our technician friend and let him fix it and he really fix it he he told me that if something happen like this again check all the buttons correctly. Now there is really problem in you button and you cant just pry in you phone you might break something you should let the professional do it like technician after you fix your button try to boot up again and if its still black screen or recovery then the problem is in the phone system and you can comeback here so we can help you fix it.
