That's funny because it works for me! Are you sure you put in SGH-I717 in ALL CAPS?
Here's another method.
Download this file http://www.mediafire.com/download/g7gn29h7nu63id5/I717UCMD3_I717ATTMD3_ATT.zip
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes

Sorry you're having trouble. I've never came across someone with a loop at optimization before. Maybe you can try to re download the file and repeat the process again. You might have a corrupt download.

It Is Easy To Root GALAXY J200G

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERROR OCCURS DURING THIS!!!!
PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDE STEP BY STEP TO DON'T FACE ANY DAMAGES/ERRORS.
First of all, You must confirm that your device model is J200G.
Otherwise it may damage your device!!!
I am not responsible for that.
That is, this guide is for J200G only.
Next, Check your firware model.
The model of your firmware must be : J200GDDU1APB1/J200G1APB2
Because the latest firmwares does not have any propper guides to root.
If it is yes ,then follow my commands otherwise you must downgrade your firmare by downloading firmware : J200GDDU1APB1 and flshing with odin tool(Downgrading the firmware doesn't change any type of settings in device).
Step 1 : Download the latest version of TWRP recovery .tar file for Galaxy J2 from the link.
Step 2 : You must unlock your bootloader. To do this , go to "Settings/About device" and tap "build number" 7 to 8 times . (It says "you are now a developer") and go back .And then, you see an extra option named as "Deveoper options" in settings, click on it and turn on "OEM Unlock" . This will unlock your bootloader (Unlocking bootloader will void your warrenty).
Step 3 : Switch off your mobile and boot into odin mode. To do this, switch off your device and press and hold the volume down+power+home buttons at same time. The device then displays the odin mode (Note that the FRP Lock is off otherwise it will lock custom binary).
Step 4 : Download and install the "samsung drivers" from link, and download and install the latest version of "odin" from the link on your computer and open it. And then select PDA/AP and locate the downloaded twrp_3.0.7_j2lte.tar file and select it. Now, connect the device with computer using data cable.
Step 5 : After connecting the device, note that the odin shows the "added" message. Then select "start" button and sit back and relax. It will show you the "pass" message and your device will restart automatically.
Step 6 : After this, download "superSU experimental.zip" from the link. And move it to root of your sdcard.
Step 7 : To see your new custom recovery , boot into recovery mode by pressing and holding the volume up+power+home buttons and then you see the TWRP logo and it will turn you to the home page of the recovery. Select the "install" option and locate the "supersu v2.60 experimental.zip" file and select it and flash it by swiping right from the left and the recovery shows the message "successfull". Then select "reboot" and then select "system" to reboot the device. Wait for the device to reboot and switch off and again it reboots automatically. Then, you see the "superSU" app installed on your device. Downoad "Root Checker" app from playstore for propper root verification. (During the boot, you see "kernel is not seandroid enforsing" message; don't worry, it doesn't affects on device.) Now, you have successfully installed TWRP Recovery and Rooted your Galaxy J200G.
KEEP SMILING!!!!

[Guide] [N-970F] [N-975F] Flashing GSI on Note 10 [Tested on DTH7] [Descendant Rom]

Hello everyone.
Small Intro:
So, I bought Note 10 [Exynos] N970F. I wanted to use custom rom on it. I tried both Dr. Ketan's ROM and 420 Rom. Both of these roms were surely amazing and Dr. Ketan's rooting guide really helped in rooting and all things. Such a kind person to help for new comer.
As there are only these two roms at the moment and AOSP roms are either not available or very old with incomplete guide to flash. So after trying many different ways for flashing Generic System image (GSI) for my device. After series of failures, bootloops as I surely found some method to actually install GSI on N970F
Tested GSI
Havoc 3.8
Descendants
CrDroid v222 200816
Type of GSI to Use for our device:
ARM64-AB (As known as ARM64-bvN)
What's working:
Sim/IRC
Calls
Data/4g
Bluetooth
Wifi
Camera
Storage
Sensors
NFC/Location/Hotspot
Bugs:
MTP/USB connection not working
FingerPrint not working with Descendants Rom
(Can't confirm any further bugs. If you found please report so I can update thread)
Don't do anything without reading 4th Post (Disclaimer)
Your phone's internal storage will be wiped, deleting all of your data so make a backup
Prep:
1: Download firmware for your phone (Extract firmware and copy AP file to phone)
Either Use Frija or This website (Make account here, connect to GDrive and you can download from google server or IDM. Fast, Resume)
2: Download TWRP for your phone (It is better to have TWRP based on same base as is your phone's firmware download)
See here for TWRP (Usually has updated twrp) or see telegram of developer
(Extract twrp zip to have recovery.img. If it has different name, save it as "recovery.img", We will call it twrp-recovery.
3: Download Magisk Manager, install on phone
4: Patch AP file you copied to phone with Magisk Manager (Run magisk manager, --Install --> Select & Patch file --> Select AP)
A new file "Magisk-Patched.tar" will be saved in download folder. Copy it to PC. We will call it Patched-AP.
5: Open Patched-AP with 7-Zip. You should see files in it. (There should be a recovery.img in it) Now drag & drop twrp-recovery to 7-Zip window open Patched-AP. Wait for process, as it will replace stock recovery with twrp recovery. We now have an AP file with magisk & TWRP pre-patched.
Now we will use this updated Patched-AP
6: Download Latest Multi-disable from here
7: Download your desired GSI. Havoc GSI, CrDroid GSI, Descendants,Others
(Download ARM64-AB or ARM64-bVN) If you want Google apps it is better to download GSI with built-in GAPSS.
Steps to Follow:
(Enable USB Debugging on your phone, Turn on OEM Unlock option in developers option)
1: First Unlock Bootloader of your device (Boot to download mode-- Power off, Volume up + volume down and connect to pc)
2: Follow on-screen instructions to unlock bootloader (While in download mode -- long press volume up for unlock area, volume up to unlock)
Info: Now phone will do wipe and you should be back into system. Now due to some Samsung restriction, you must enable USB debugging again & see OEM unlock check if greyed out (untouchable). (You must do it as system gives download mode a signal to prevent issue with custom files flashing)
3: Boot to download mode, Press volume up. Connect to PC.
4: Run Odin, Select files, AP as Patched-UP we created, CSC as Home-CSC, CP and bootloader that your extracted.
(Uncheck auto-reboot in odin)
5: Start Flashing, wait for it to pass. Now we will boot to recovery from here
6: To boot into recovery, first we should exit download mode then boot to recovery during that process.
First Hold volume down + Power --> wait for screen to go black--> as soon as screen goes black--> leave all buttons --> now press Volume UP + Power --> Keep pressing until you boot into TWRP recovery.
7: Now Swipe to allow modifications --> Wipe --> Format Data --> type "yes" --> swipe. Wait for Wipe.
8: Now Click reboot --> Reboot to Recovery. Wait for Phone to boot back into TWRP recovery.
9: Again Swipe to allow modification. Connect to PC & Copy the Multi-Disable to phone.
10: Install Multi-Disabler --> Install --> Select Multi-Disable --> Swipe to flash. Wait for it. Reboot again to recovery.
11: Copy your downloaded GSI img to Phone. Select Wipe and do a factory reset.
12: Install GSI --> Install --> Select IMG --> Click on GSI image --> Select System partition to flash. It takes few seconds.
13: Now Reboot to System.
Phone Should be booted into new GSI installed

Can't get into factory reset step

Hello,
I'm currently trying to install lineage 17.1 and following the instructions from https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/j7elte/install but after i install the recovery img it wont boot the factory reset menu.
This is my first time doing something like this, i'm not a power user so please be kind.
hello there, i see but can you please be more specific describing the problem, like attaching some pictures, what steps did you do or anything else that can be helpful, so the others can help your way out?
It was my fault, i didn't see it was volume up for recovery mode. But at the moment i have a much bigger issue. My device needs a firmware update but i cannot find the exact model. The one under the battery is just a basic version i presume so i cannot find the appropriate firmware.
what is it? j700f or j700m?
Just post the code you see that the above person posted.
It might be on the battery or on the box the phone came with.
It starts with SM-
J700h.
I downloaded a file from sammobile but it's single tar.md5 file don't know how to use it.
ah, you nneed odin, download it and put the tar.md5 file to AP field
Download Odin3
and dont forget to put the phone to download mode too
I recommend one of the patched versions cause they error less
1. Extract (un-rar) the firmware file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin) ***
2. Download Odin v3.14.4
3. Extract the Odin ZIP file (i.e. to folder c:\Odin)
4. Open Odin v3.14.4
5. Power OFF your S10+
6. Reboot Phone in Download Mode (1st plug-in USB-cable to your Phone) push Power + Volume Down buttons, while pushing them plug-in USB-cable to PC. Or use the command "adb reboot-bootloader".
7. Wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
8. Add the firmware files to their designated slots (AP in AP, BL in BL, CP in CP, HOME_CSC in CSC). USERDATA stays EMPTY!
10. Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes for the device to automatically restart.

Yeah, I couldn't type on my useless iPhone so I copied it from a text file I used to instruct people how to install firmwares with Odin.
Yeah only AP is needed so keep that in mind.
Although odin mode is red the bar is moving right now.
I'll update the result.
