Telegram HMS vs GMS - Huawei Developers

Telegram HMS vs GMS
Telegram is a very popular app for communication, and it's a good way to manage large discussions and communities. With Telegram relying on many different file sharing and voice call functions to operate, the HMS or GMS framework is needed to run the app. That means that the app is available in both the Google Play store, and the Huawei AppGallery. For many phones that do not support GMS, it's a great thing to be able to have the HMS version of this app.
GMS - Telegram
Telegram aims to be an easy-to-use messaging app, with basic functions like file share, audio/video calls, group messaging, and more. There's a big focus on speed and simplicity. Adding friends and sending messages is just about as barebones as it gets. Unneeded features do not cause the app to become bloated, as many other messaging apps are.
For people who value security, Telegram encrypts all of your messages using a combination of 256-bit symmetric AES encryption, 2048-bit RSA encryption, and Diffie–Hellman secure key exchange.
For managing communities, Telegram has the ability to host group chats with 200,000 members. All of which can be sharing files, videos, photos, and any sort of file type.
One of the most impressive qualities of Telegram is that the service is 100% free and does not contain any ads.

HMS - Telegram
Now for phones that don't have GMS support, like newer Huawei devices, Telegram can be found on the Huawei AppGallery. This is a different version of the app that relies on HMS Core services to operate. Despite the difference in the code, the app is able to function normally. All of the features are here, that you'd find in the standard version of the app. You can also communicate and share files with other users normally, even if the other users have the GMS version of the app.
Telegram's decision to make their app available on HMS services has opened the app to a market of millions of more users. One of the great things about Telegram is you can be pretty confident that just about everyone has it. This makes it easy to add people to your contacts and keep in touch with them.
Enjoy all of the same security features, along with the speed and simplicity that you've learned to love in Telegram. The app is still free of charge and comes with no ads on the Huawei AppGallery.

Dear developer,
A key thing to consider when building a financial management platform is how you'll keep your users up to date with what's going on with their accounts. With pushing messages, you can send users information about their personal accounts and your platform, so that they can keep track of any changes as soon as they happen. This improves the user experience, keeps users active, and is cheaper than sending SMS messages.
There are many ways HUAWEI Push Kit can help you enhance the user experience of your finance app:
1. Audience Segmentation
With HUAWEI Push Kit's audience segmentation feature, you can create audiences based on users' attributes and behavior, and push tailored messages to them. This is useful whether you want to encourage users to invest or borrow money, or send them coupons to persuade them to purchase products
For example, you can send promotional campaign messages advertising fixed-income products to users who have subscribed to or browsed these kinds of products within the last 30 days.
2. Topic Subscription
Push Kit's topic subscription feature enables you to push messages to users based on the topics they have subscribed to, so you know they have an interest in the content.
For example, you can push stock trading strategies and recommend individual stocks to users who have subscribed to the topic "Stock Trading Tips".
3. Automated Notifications
We will soon be adding an automated notification feature to Push Kit. This will enable you to set messages to trigger automatically when users display certain behaviors in your app. For example, you could send a notification each time a user completes a transaction. This is not only cheaper than sending an SMS, but also more timely and reliable.
Easy Integration
Integrating Push Kit is really straightforward. Huawei provides a tool for you to integrate Push Kit into your app within half a day, and provides sample code for you to reuse in your app server. If you run into any problems, we have dedicated technical support who can help you with the integration process.

Snapchat HMS vs GMS

Snapchat HMS vs GMS
Snapchat has been one of the most popular apps in the world for a long time now. The app which features disappearing photos has evolved to a full-scale social media app. This growth was seen as the app topped the charts on the Google Play store and the Apple App Store. However, as newer Huawei phones were restricted access to GMS services, HMS Core was created in its place. Now Snapchat has been made to be compatible with HMS, making the app available to millions of more users.
So how does the HMS version compare to the GMS version of the app?
Snapchat - GMS
Snapchat is an essential app for communication and one of the most popular apps in the world. Upon getting a new phone, chances are you'll be installing Snapchat before anything else. This app lets you take photos, apply filters, play games with friends, live video chat, and post to your public or private stories. For GMS devices, the app works very well, aside from a downgrade in photo quality compared to the iOS version of the app.
Using GMS services, Snapchat is able to access location services, calls, storage, camera, and payment features. The app has been fleshed out over the many years of its existence and now runs with few bugs or crashes.

Snapchat - HMS
On your first install of Snapchat from the Huawei AppGallery, you may be prompted to update to the latest version of HMS core. This is needed to make all of the functions of Snapchat available. This is a quick process that will take under a minute.
Once you have the app going, you'll notice everything looks the same as it does in the GMS version of the app. Snap Maps is still accessible, with the ability to allow or deny access to your location data. I found all of the filters were available, just as they were on my GMS device. Stories, videos, photos, calling and all of the same features work just all well.
Testing out the speed of the HMS version, I sent several snapchats in the form of photos, videos, and texts to another phone. All of them were delivered in the same amount of time that it took a GMS powered phone to do.
Screenshots from Snapchat on HMS phone:
Interesting
So, everything is the same.
Are there any differences ?
not showing a screenshot of how the snap ends up looking means this "review" is trash.
the whole problem with snapchat on android is the picture quality looks horrible compared to iphones

Canva on HMS vs on GMS

Canva on HMS vs on GMS
With over 100,000,000 downloads, the Canva app is one of the most popular photo and video editing apps. It is designed to be used by anyone who wants to improve their photos or put together a video using their powerful editing tools. Use templates for specific social media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, or Facebook. This app will be able to crop your photo/video appropriately and export it in the correct resolution. It's an easy way to spice up your social media posts.
Traditionally Canva has only been available on GMS phones, through the Google Play store. Now you can download Canva for HMS phones with the Huawei AppGallery. This brings the app to more users on more platforms. So how do the two versions of this app compare? Let's take a look.
Canva on GMS
Opening the app after a fresh install will bring you to the login screen. Since this app is the GMS version, you have the option to log in with your Google account. You can also log in via email and a few other options.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Once you're in the app, you'll be shown the main page where you can browse templates for different types of social media. It's very easy to get started with new projects and quickly create media that matches your brand or aesthetic.
A premium subscription to the app unlocks a bunch of features. You can pay $12.99 a month, or $119.99 a year for these paid features. There is an option to try Canva Pro for 14 days.
Canva on HMS
To use the HMS version of Canva, you can download it for free from the Huawei AppGallery. Once you launch the app, you'll run into your first glitch which is a result of converting the app from GMS to HMS. A message will appear that says "Canva won't run without Google Play services, which are not supported by your device". This message can be ignored, and you can continue to log in via email. However, the lack of GMS does seem to cause further issues with other features in this app.
Once you are logged in and find yourself on the main screen, you can select a template to start a new project. Unfortunately, this is where the next issue comes up. When trying to create a project from a template, you are shown an error that says "You are offline. We are unable to reach Canva. Please check your network settings and try again."
The last section where you'll run into errors is trying to use the premium subscription service. This requires GMS to manage your payments, so it cannot be accessed.
So even though Canva is available on the Huawei AppGallery, the app doesn't seem ready for HMS users. Hopefully, updates in the future will fix this.

Flapp on HMS Vs. GMS

Flapp on HMS Vs. GMSFlapp is a very capable travel app, that will help you find hotels, flights, car rentals, or bus routes. It's an all-in-one solution for making your travel plans much easier. Explorer new places to visit, or track your current planned trips. The app is available for free on the Google Play store for anyone with a GMS phone. Users that have an HMS phone can get the app from the Huawei AppGallery. The two different apps have quite a few differences, so let's take a look at how Flapp took advantage of HMS Core development, to bring the app to Huawei users.Flapp on GMSTo set up your Flapp account, you can use your Google or Facebook account. The GMS version of this app opens to the explore page. From this page, you can see exclusive deals and important travel info. At the top, you have options to look for flights, hotels, car rentals, and busses. The bottom of the explore page has more navigation to access trip data, favorites, and your personal profile.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
More features can be accessed through the menu in the top left. This will bring you to some useful tools like Currency and Country selection.Flapp on HMSThe HMS version of this app has been redesigned from the ground up. To set up your account, you will be able to use Facebook or Twitter. Google is not available due to the lack of GMS, but other social media logins aren't affected.Instead of opening the app to the explore page, you will see the flight search page. Car rentals are also available from the "more" menu. Many of the features from the GMS version of this app are missing, like bus routes. There is a section for hotel searches, but that results in a "page not found" error.
The flights section works well on the HMS version of this app. If you want to use it as your all-in-one travel app, you'll probably want to wait until some of the current bugs are worked out.

MyIE Has Enhanced its Security Capabilities and User Experience by Integrating URLCheck

MyIE is an intuitive browser app that provides users in China and Singapore with fast and secure browsing services, free of ads or push messages. Users can also scan QR codes to visit target URLs through the app.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Challenges
Malicious URLs, such as phishing and fake website links, can trick users into revealing their private information or even transferring money. It can be difficult for users to determine whether a QR code directs to a legitimate website, or to one that presents phishing and fraud-related risks. If the app directly accesses a malicious website after scanning the QR code, the privacy and property of the user may be at risk.
Therefore, it is essential for browser apps to identify malicious URLs before users access them. On the basis of enhancing user privacy security and optimizing user experience, MyIE requires a solution that could quickly evaluate the type of risk associated with a URL users attempt to access, and warn the users of the risk in advance, to ensure secure, stable, and reliable browsing services.
Solutions
With URLCheck in Safety Detect, MyIE can automatically call the URLCheck API to check whether the URL associated with a scanned QR code is risky. If the URL to be accessed presents risks to the user, MyIE displays a popup on screen for 4 seconds, warning the user, so that the user can operate carefully or close the page.
"This API has improved the security capabilities of MyIE by 80%", noted Guo Feng, the chief technical officer (CTO) for MyIE. Mr. Guo added, "We've been able to offer a much better overall user experience. With popup messages, users can learn in real time whether the URL accessed through a QR code is secure. The check is fast and the results are accurate, free of false positives that would interfere with normal browsing, and user satisfaction has improved by 30%."
Results
Service security was enhanced by 80%.
User satisfaction was improved by 30%.
