i do think the stock kernel is bad, when i check with rootify it says ~40% of ram usage without doing anything.
tho i tweaked it with smartpack kernel manager.
is light better for gaming or aggressive in Low Memory Killer settings?
btw, i have the 6gb ram version of mi note 10 lite.

the most bad thing is the 60hz that looks more like a 50hz, i feel like it's not smooth tho im doing constant 60fps
when a custom kernel will release for this phone i'll jump on this occasion, better if it is hydra kernel for those 90hz
tho we need the kernel sources
or maybe we can use prebuilt kernel

yeah most of the phone have only 60hz and so for gamers that plays on computer at 120-360hz they'll have this ''laggy'' sensation that makes it not smooth.
as i play in 75hz on my computer there's still a difference so for gaming it's better at 75-90hz and you'll get better aim for example in cod mobile

Hi there. This is a thread to talk about an ideas of a gaming case for the note 3
As you know, note 3 is still an amazing for a 3 year old smartphone. It now has a nougat based rom and can be overclocked, both gpu and cpu. And the result is amazing(though not significant)
But the problem is that the device overheats when gaming after a few minutes and so it throttles
My idea is to design a case that would cools it down efficiently with a small colling fan and a battery to supply then fan's power. But might have to open the note 3's back to exposed the SoC
This is the basic idea tho. If you would like to add an idea, a design, or maybe just sketch it, you are welcome to do so
I simply used a PS3 controller with a homemade metal base and a lid from a CASIO scientific calculator. All together with glue . Works perfectly using SIXAXIS. Not the most elegant solution, but it works very well

Ah.. you are using a snapdragon note 3. I don't really know tho. But what i do know, there is an OC kernel for your device. Try to search it at your forum good luck
I tried a lot of times, there is no kernel which allows me to OC GPU, based on newer firmware. I found only one for Note 4 Port based on 5.0.2 TW. I think developers don't care about adding GPU overclock feature to any kernel

Well not that they don't care, it's just that OC on an android was not like OC on PCs.
And one major flaws of OC on android is that our phone's CPU and GPU are passive cooled. Which causes thermal throttling, which lowers performance, which makes OC kinda Pointless
You may ask the dev to implement OC to their kernel tho
Which is one of the reason why i made is thread, to disscuss gaming Case design that will helps Chips from thermal throttling and also gaming friendly. We may use ideas here for reference or maybe a Kickstarter project if anyone is interested to do so
Ok, passive cooling and throttling, i agree. But, why can't we OC our Adreno 330 GPU to 587 MHz like it's in Snapdragon 801 chips. Both Snap 800 and 801 are almost the same, higher clocked only...

We CAN OC our gpu if you want, but it's up to dev to implement it to their ROM's kernel
Also, not all chips are made equally. Some might stand OC, while others might refuse to do so

This is another reason I don't use Antutu. My previous phone (Moto Quark) got a certain score -- within 10,000 points -- depending whether or not I put it in the freezer first for a few minutes to chill it. Then, Antutu released a "new" version, and suddenly the phone jumped 40,000 points. NOTHING about the phone had changed. The phone was NOT any faster in any way than it was before. But Antutu realizes HIGHER SCORES make people think they have better phones. So, suddenly with new version they artificially added more "points" to all phones.

I stopped using Antutu for that reason and more. It never showed how I REALLY used my phone day to day, and so many OEMs (OnePlus and others) constantly cheat to boost their scores FOR JUST THESE BENCHMARK TESTS. They artificially boost performance to levels that cannot be sustained more than a few minutes without overheating and melting down. OEMs that do NOT cheat on these benchmark tests are then penalized by having "lower" scores.
I found myself doing stupid stuff like putting my phone in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill it down before running Antutu tests so I would get higher scores, and then I realized that didn't prove anything. Since I don't carry a portable cooler with me full of ice to chill my phone when I'm not using it...

You have no idea what you're talking about do you? Refresh rate is measured in Hz and have nothing to do with your framerate in benchmarks.
Thought i'd update this thread a little because performance has increased substantially with custom roms.

What rom and kernel?
LG-H930 (v21O)
Stock ROM
I freshed up my v30 after trying different mods and roms, so i did a clean refurbish flash of 21o + magisk and get this result with Antutu 7.1.3
Stock Result 168.151 Points
Now ive started to freeze some applications with Titanium Backup, sometimes its better to not freeze things (you can get serious problems or just less points) but you can get out more performance. Didnt went too deep into it, just tried with a few things i dont need. In this way it was possible for me to get out about 10% more points in Antutu, im sure theres more possible if i would try with each and every entry in Titanium Backup.
Points after quick debloating 186.343
Does more Antutu Points really mean more performance or is it just within the benchmark? I mean do 10% more points mean 10% more performance?
Is there already somewhere a list of things we can freeze without doubts?
I've got this after a short time of doing nothing with my device.

Well I did yesterday I found only one really annoying bug: sim detection error randomly appear during reboot - other reboot is not a fix, it found my sim after rebooting without it, insert it after the rom started and try switch on and off airplane mode.
But everything else is forking fine, charging speed is great with stock kernel so no need of a third party one.

The idle power usage is excellent, I would say the best, but my device is 2 years old can't really say about the sot, it feels a bit of power hungry to me. Maybe because of the animations.
Device: Redmi Note 3 3gb Kenzo.
HavocOS 29/11/28 build is great, 5hrs SOT, no crucial bugs here. For sure usable as daily driver.

i dont think there is an issue with that. The slider moves in real time, it's different from oreo, it works on latest havoc.
Im using Havoc OS latest build since the release day as main rom and it's doing really good, battery-wise too, gaming wise aswell, better than most oreo roms.
Best roms for me are Liquid Remix and Havoc. Both has almost same features, but brightness on Havoc is more precise. Maybe on new update Liquid adjust it. Battery is better than oreo on both, but I did some changes on stock kernel. I set up big cluster to Max freq = 1305 and Min freq = 883. Little cluster to Max freq = 1401 and Min freq = 691, changed governor to ondemand and Max gpu freq to 550. I've disabled ZRAM too. Everything works very nice, no lags, no random reboots and 7-8h of SOT.

please implement new sound control support, but all custom kernels tested (mipa, optimus drunk, twisted kernel...) have bug distorcing audio using my akg 414p, making my bottom pocophone at the headphones p2 output worse than my moto g5 plus in quality.

You can flash an audio mod like dolby or viper.

Best kernel for poco f1! No lags, fps drops, nice charging speed and super OP battery life. I also love the LOGO! Thanks dev and testers!

This is low SOT I think it could be much improved, I get 7 hrs SOT from 90% to 20% with stock non-rooted MIUI

SOT depends on a lot of things, including usage pattern/app, screen brightness, network conditions, gaming and most importantly battery health; all of these vary person to person, unit to unit. Before posting such things, get full information and back them up with a better reason.

I suppose with normal battery health with Youtube, internet browsing but no pubg or heavy games
I don't have the dolby atmos mod magisk running the latest Android 10 poco f1 build, and when I tested it, it didn't amplify my sound. the only module that came close to being good was jamesdsp, setting the output gain to + 15db, and this feature appeared 1 month ago. but it also distorts a little bit when you turn up the volume. the only good feature that the custom kernel has implemented and obtained with a kernel manager, because it can be better polished through the kernel, obtained from the headphone outputs without generating distortion, something that has not happened. or closer to pleasing me using the mipa kernel. soundcontrol by flar2. but for pocophone the settings of this developer greatly increase the distortion, when the volume the amplified. it seems that the serious bass setting is not good regulated and it bothers me a lot and makes me want to change the device. moto g5 plus much higher basic audio in the headphones when in volume and amplified, without distortion for example
Thanks for allowing me to use your kernel in my build
I haven't seen anyone do a comparison between the two, but what are your experiences so far with this setting?
I am now on light, but it is quite hard to tell since i am not using the phine the dame way. It feels that the battery goes down slower, but I am at the point where i am not sure if it is really so or I just eant it to be. I dont feel the phone performance drop, but I have not done any heavy duty tasks on light
I've done benches comparing the two, the standard gives me a lower single core score and a higher multi core score. But when I switched to the light mode, the single core score went up and the multi core score went down. I've seen someone apparently got some insane high scores with the S23 ultra, as in 1600 single core score and 5400 on the multi, but there wasn't really any kind of revelation how they got it.

I get 1594 on single and 5127 on multi, thats on standard profile.
How the ****? I've done many runs and I've never even had 5k on the multiscore....

This was my latest pass, just few moments ago, with active cooling... Yes it's above the 1.5k and 5k but only now, with additional cooling, and it's not even that much higher. While you're nearing 1.6k and 5.2. I've got a ****ing dud... Cause if no one else has to do anything special and can get those scores consistently and higher, then clearly my phone is a ****ing potatoe...
Just ran another one. Don't know what to tell you :/ I know there is like a hidden code that you could input and generate a system dump and find the CPU bin score but I can't remember it
My man, do you think there's any chance you could find it out for me? I'm really curious but I haven't found anything online for newer samsung phones without having root.

I would be interested to see how this affects the battery life overall in light mode.
I get 1514 and 4831

Dont be angry this benchmark was a fckn trash with totally random scores.... I got 1200 sometimes at single core... And running again the test right after, with much hotter cpu i get 1400+ score... Next 1300...Next 1500... Its a total random trash.

Yep. With these kinds of benches you have to do 5-10 of them and average the results to find the real number.
