Hi
I just got my S21 256 GB (Exynos version). I moved away from my Note10+ as it was too big and battery too poor, bad finger print reader and then I truly hate the curved displays... I really like the look and feel of the S21. Awesome phone, nice screen, much better cellular reception, fine finger print reader.
BUT... The battery is aweful. I get 3½-4 hours screen on time and then its dead. Yesterday it went from 100-85 % after 50 min of browsing using Chrome. During the night (when it is not charging) energy comsumption seems great! the curve more or less flat-lines so it is only when being on. AccuBattery estimates the capacity to 3.820 mAh.
Could it be due to restoring the old backup from the Note10+? Any good ideas?
Should I just return it and get another (S21 or another brand). What are your experience with the battery life?
Thanks!
Hi
Restoring backups can be problematic sometimes. Try to factory reset your phone and install your apps manually.

But then again, why? I guess it does not backup app data but only information about what apps I have? It seems to be downloading the latest apps from Google Play when restoring a backup?
Hey, I have a similar problem as you I guess. My phone has like 6 hours SOT max on 120 Hz if I unplugged it and used straight up without putting it down. Normal day is more like 4 hours SOT with background synchro etc. Guess that 120 Hz screen is real power hungry as some tests have shown that you can do more than 9 hours with 60 Hz.... What's interesting is that S21+ loses only an hour of SOT with 120 Hz enabled. I have also SmartSwitched from S7 but plan on factory resetting in a week or so but I don't think it will do much.
Guess Samsung may in time make things just a little better with updates but we can't know that for sure. For me it's just fine right now, if I had a long day I would use power saving to make sure it stays alive. Coming from S7 with a detoriated battery it's a huge upgrade for me anyway but I fear that battery will have to be replaced in 2 years time max.
edit: some app data is transferred as well for sure but I'm not 100% positive if it's Google backup or SmartSwitch. Anyway I think that in this case it's just a very power hungry screen

If I cannot make the battery perform with 120 Hz, I will send it return... Whats the point of buying a new fancy phone if you need to disable all the new an fancy? 60 Hz is like any other phone, and by using power saving you will throttle down the CPU and GPU so it is comparable with any other old phone. I think many reviews seem to say that battery life is nice - even with 120 Hz, so think it must be something else.

I will tell for sure after resetting the phone but that battery sure does not last as long as it should in my opinion. Especially in comparison to S21+ or Ultra that have 20% and 25% bigger batteries respectively but last way longer. Ultra has a better screen but Plus model still is more efficient I think and that is just ODD in my opinion . You could just disable 120 Hz on some days without turning on power saving so CPU stays the same.
Edit: One more thing is that some youtube channels or reviews post battery tests where they play youtube videos for 10 hours straight but come on it's not realistic usage. I got messaging apps etc all synchronizing and that makes the phone burn the battery way faster.
Let's not forget that S21 serie has an adaptive screen refresh rate which depends on the usage, not fixed 120Hz.
About battery life, I come from a regular S20 which has the exact same 4000mAh battery and can attest that the regular S21 lasts way longer after 4 days of use, and it can only get better.
First thing to check is the network type. If you don't need/have 5G, think about lowering your setting to 4G max as searching for 5G is very power consuming.
Enabling location search via bluetooth and wifi also drains a lot of juice.
Also ensure to have the latest firmware update (AUAB) and check your battery history for any app's abnormal power consumption.
Good luck
Same issue here. I got the phone on Friday so it's 3 days of active usage. First two days were terrible, today is better but the phone basically mostly laying on the desk, not much happening. Now it's 2h20m SOT... I restored from Google backup (around 180 apps). I'm coming from p30 pro which had like 7h SOT with same apps setup (but without 5g and 120hz).
What I've noticed is that during the first software update, the phone was optimizing like 450 apps? Does Samsung come with 270 apps out of the box or Google restore screwed thing up?

I see same insane powerusage of Chrome... 6,4 % in 13 minute on your screenshot...
Funny thing is that when you add all the numbers up, you are far from 100 %. It´s a shame you cannot see the system apps causing the issues.
When I think of my Huawei Note 10 Pro, I am truly sorry that I sold that one
I will consider to factory reset it, otherwise it goes back... It is pretty useless if it cannot last more than 3-4 hours screen on time.
Coming from S20. So far, very disappointed with battery life. Hoping for some improvement in the future.
On the left is the S21. On the right the S20. See the difference....
The battery drain is severe in my case. Just using instagram/reddit for 10 mins drops the battery by 7-10%. I did not smartswitch. (S21 256GB Snap)
Edit: The phone's also debloated using ADB AppControl's preset.

Be careful what you disable. If it has dependencies it could cause excessive cpu cycles.
Power management gave me a lot of trouble until I completely disabled it. Maybe that's been fixed but consider all possibilities.
Trial and error... play with it.
Android 10/11 removed some of the diagnostic tools found in Pie... for security, right.
Load Karma Firewall and try blocking some of the system apks especially Android and Google that aren't constantly needed. Unblocking them is just as easy. Unfortunately in 10 and higher it's very useful logging function is disabled I've been told... you know security.
Karma uses almost no battery unless your viewing the app its self.
Apparently Galaxy Labs Battery Tracker not longer works as well. I use this app a lot.
Thanks for nothing Google... these are some of my reasons I'm not upgrading hardware or firmware until at least Android 12

Just reading all of the above things make it sound like Samsung is handfeeding Apple with new customers. Seriously, in 2021 there should be no need to do any manual tweaking of services running. I have no preference with regards to brands; have had several iPhones, OnePlus, Huawei, Samsung, .... I choose my phone based on needs and not brand. I have never, ever, had issues like this with any of my iPhones,. It´s just insane how big a difference there is with power management and effectiveness of CPUs comparing most Android phones with iPhones. I dont tend to start a war here - I use Android myself

Unfortunately I have to agree.
It seems like Samsung rushed the release. Or focused mostly on the ultra although I'm not sure if they have the same problem...

I have factory reset the device and didn't restore from Google backup, let's see how it goes now. It took some time to download everything manually but hopefully it will help.
Before doing it I tried disabling 5g and AOD but it didn't help.
I just returned my S21 and went back to my Note 10. The battery life was so bad you could just watch it go down and the 5G was a fraction of the speed of 4G on the Note 10.

ive check mine with 2 apps AccuBattery and C battery widget with full charage and some partial both showing avarage of 3777 out of 3888 rated) "4000mah" designed. so yours a bit better then mine so far... you did 1 to 100% change? its more accurate (but stress and ruin battery faster overtime if doing this to much)
anyway with avarage use after 24 hours im with 30% (no heavy games\youtube, just camera and browse\whatsapp. etc)
PS sry for my bad english
Can confirm. My 3.5 year old OnePlus 5T with a 3200mAh battery got better battery life than a brand new Galaxy S21+ with a 4800mAh battery. 3 hours screen on time. I'm not impressed with the battery life so far to say the least...

Now I've had an opportunity to experiment - my phone finally arrived yesterday - I find that uninstalling the two adups apks dramatically improves battery life on my device.. Of course you have to go through all the rigmarole of installing adb and so on. And for all I know the com.adups.fota and com.adups.fota.sysoper packages were doing something important other than spying. Without them I can certainly forget about OTA updates. But I can live without that till Oreo comes out for the s8 and then factory-reset before installing it. Or install it by hand ...
Anyway, ymmv, but right now this phone is behaving as if it had the amount of battery it has. Which makes it an awfully nice device for the price!

oh man, if battery it's dramatically improved. Please let me know how the heck can I remove fota packages..! Is there a guide? I'm a newbie on Android. (iPhone user for a long time)
Sure, steverway, it's not hard once you've installed ADB. There's a tutorial on doing that at https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/ .
Then you just - wait, before I say "then you just" I should say YOU DO THESE THINGS AT YOUR OWN RISK - this worked great for me, no idea if this will brick your phone or make it blow up in your face - I mean I don't think this is harmful but you start dicking around with the thing whatever happens is on you - anyway, then you just:
0) turn on developer options on the phone by tapping the build number 7 times
1) turn on usb debugging in the developer options and plug the phone into your computer
2) do "adb devices" on the command line and then on the phone give permissions in the dialog box that pops up
3) There should be a message on the command line that says your phone is a registered device. If it says unregistered, unplug and replug the usb and do the previous steps over again.
4) type "adb shell" on the command line
5) remove the two offending apks by typing:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.adups.fota
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.adups.fota.sysoper
6) type exit and then unplug and restart the phone
Right now I'm getting about 30 hours of normal use from the phone between charges. I'd guess that's about 6 hours of SOT but standby drain is super-low too. And I wasn't seeing that kind of performance before I removed the spyware even though I'd also:
a) used Greenify - free from the play store
b) turned off location history and anything else I can turn off to do with location in google maps - there's some kind of bug in its use of the GPS where it polls it like 300 times a minute
c) turned off duraspeed - which is reportedly bloat - and
d) under developer options, limited the number of background apps to 3
Which are all probably good ideas as well! Anyway couldn't be happier with battery life now - it's far better than my old oneplus one ever was.
Oh, one more tip - the charger that comes with the phone is junk. Takes like 3 hours for a full charge. So go buy a fast charger. This phone now charges from zero to full in about 90 minutes for me. I know that's slow compared with flagships but ... well, this device cost $200 USD, couldn't be happier!

First of all Thank you for your time. You guide was 100% helpful. So after a long wait for a possible Oreo update I was finally tired. And followed the demonstration to remove adups. Everything went well, but I don't feel there is a huge battery change. Just feeling a little more smoothy experience with the apps. Maybe it's greenify which helps a lot. I don't know. Where can I check Screen on time ?

I think you should increase the battery capacity to improve battery lifetime.
If you switch one battery parallel. That increase the mAh (heavier + thicker)
You can buckle up a little power-bank on you elephone back
A big screen + MTK 10 cores make a lot of battery drain ....

Always having a power bank with me the last years. I think I'm a heavy user. Because some people get 1-2 days and I'm only getting about 9-10 hours.
I only estimated the SOT I'm getting - not certain whether there's an actual measurement of it in there somewhere.
I think you're correct that Greenify helps, but have recently found Hibernation Manager is really fantastic at getting rid of drain while the screen's off. I've only started to triy it out today but was really amazed.

I think on MTK-processor: Duraspeeed + whitelist is the most saving method, because you can turn off all services automatically and more than turn off all, can't be done ....
But tring goes over thinking and dreaming ?
I'm using them together atm. I might try dumping greenify after a couple of days and see if that has an impact. But right now standby drain is a horizontal thing o' beauty. After a couple of days I should be able to say more about how well it works with my typical use.
Also on my list above I forgot to say to turn off wifi and bluetooth when you're not using them ...

Interesting. I didn't think Duraspeed did much of anything so turned it off. Can you say more about what you see it doing and what kind of impact it has on your device?

Not a big difference there. I think Duraspeed helps but even with Hibernation manager Im still getting 75% of the day with this phone. Tommorow I will just try just Duraspeed by itself because I think greenify does the exact same thing.

I will know your experience, too.
Pls report ?
I was having serious battery issues--4 hours standby for a fully charged battery. The phone was also hot all the time. Used DuraSpeed to only allow things that I need running in the background, and that fixed the problem completely. I suspect that the culprit was Google Play (store and services). Not entirely sure how Whitelist helps though.

I'm very satisfied with DuraSpeed. I'm now getting battery life comparable to when the phone was brand new. I haven't tried Greenity, but it seems to do the same thing as DuraSpeed.
I think just root it and flash the new ROM if and when it's available. I haven't rooted mine yet but there are threads on here about how.

I've not seen any discussion on battery life since the launch of the Note 10. Would people please share:
1. How is it now that there's been time for Samsung to fix early issues
2. Did Android 10 upgrade help?
3. Does it last through a day of heavy use?
4. Snapdragon or Exynos?
More info: I'm considering buying the Note 10 but the original reviews are mixed. Some say battery life is good but most say it's disappointing. It would be to replace an iPhone XS that is 12 months old, battery health is a shocking 84% and the SoT time is less than 3 hours, so I won't be buying any more overpriced junk from Apple. I'm in the UK so would be getting the Exynos unless I take a risk and grey import a Snapdragon, and live without the warranty.
More battery life is *always* better, but I really have no complaints about my Note 10 battery. It lasts all day, every day. I average 5.5 hours SOT, but it would get a lot more if I pushed it below 10% charge. However, I rarely let it drop below 30%, or fully charge to 100%. I try to take it off the charger between 60-80% to preserve long-term battery life. So while 5.5 hours SOT may seem low to other Note users, I am averaging 5.5 hours SOT from only a 50-70% charge, which is pretty damn good imo.
I disabled some apps that I'll never use, but otherwise I don't need to gimp it to make it through the day. I noticed a slight improvement in battery life with Android 10. I don't do much gaming, but I do a lot of web browsing, YouTube, and listen to Google Play Music and Sirius XM, and it has no problems lasting a full day.
I have the Snapdragon model. I don't have any experience with the Exynos model, but if you are in the UK, then I would recommend going with Exynos just for the warranty. There may be some YouTube videos comparing the battery and performance differences, you may want to look for those. I remember a couple of years ago the Exynos models were noticeably worse as far as battery, but I think the latest Exynos chips have closed the gap.
If battery life is a top priority, then you should consider the Note 10+ which has 23% larger battery (4300 vs 3500 mAh).
One last thing to consider: The Galaxy S20 models are right around the corner. I am not trying to talk you out of a Note, but if you can live without the Spen, you might want to wait for the Galaxy S20 Plus and Ultra. The Plus model is supposed to have a 4500 mAh battery, and the Ultra is rumored to have a massive 5000 mAh battery.
Edit: Btw, congrats on graduating from iOS. You'll love the customizability of Android, and now that RCS is available, you won't miss iMessage as much :good:

Battery time is average.
battery timing is inversely proportional to the time you are free

Thanks for taking the time to reply - appreciate it. Sounds like our usage patterns are similar. I don’t really game but I use web and media on public transport for a couple of hours a day, in poor signal areas so every phone I’ve had struggles.
Am trying to keep phone size down, the Note 10 Plus is definitely too big! I like the fact that with the standard Note 10 it’s almost the same size as my current iPhone XS, just 5mm taller.
Re graduating (haha) I’ve had android before. Before this iPhone I had the OnePlus 5T and really liked it until I changed cars and it completely refused to talk to the audio system.
I found a YouTube video comparing the Qualcomm and Exynos Note 10’s and in his test he got 7 hrs from the Exynos and 8hrs from the Snapdragon. Wow, bit of a difference.
Will see what the S20 (standard size) is like, and then decide whether to risk an imported Note 10 [emoji106]
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Correction, the video of the Snapdragon getting another hour of screen time is the S10, not the Note 10, which means the Exynos is the 8nm 9820 rather than the 9825 in the Note.

So i got my Exynos note10 (not a new one, a used one but in a good shape) a week ago running android Q, and the battery drain was a little bit higher than average (compared to what people claiming in the battery section). So i decided to do a fresh reset by flashing a firmware using odin, after that i did some optimizations, disabling features that i dont really need, debloating some apps and waiting for the phone to learn my battery usage pattern (it took me around 4-5 days). So now I can get 7 to 8 hours of SOT using Chrome as my web browser, social media apps, and youtube. So yeah i think the 3500 mah battery is doing a pretty good job.
That’s really good, lots of owners don’t get that out of the Plus model

So the first thing i did was to flash a stock firmware and root it using magisk. Then i charged my phone until it get 100%, i use it until it dies and cannot get booted again (when the phone dies keep rebooting it until it cannot get rebooted again). I did the charging and discharging thing twice. I think this step is like calibrating your battery, correct me if I am wrong.
Then thanks to this post : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10/how-to/galaxy-note-10-note-10-plus-debloat-t3964225 i debloated Bixby, samsung pass / pay , samsung sticker center... Do this step at your own risk because you can brick your phone if you didnt choose correctly what to debloat.
Then i enabled Adaptive power saving, put unused apps to sleep, Optimise Battery usage and i restricted background activity and i use dark mode all the time.
I disabled Air action and all features related to S pen ( i only use s pen for writing).
You may not notice a big difference in the battery life until your phone learns usage pettern ("Learning pattern" usage becomes "An estimated time" in device care battery's section)
If you are on a rooted phone then you can use greenify to hibernate other apps.
Additional information, my phone battery drains from like 100% to 80% much quicker and then it start to go slower and slower because each battery behaves in a different way.
Took another look at the Note 10 today and think it's an absolutely stunning looking device. Best looking phone around for me. I noted in the Samsung store that they don't offer any sort of satisfaction guarantee, which is disappointing. Would have been tempted to take one if I had some insurance on the battery life not working out.
But the S20 has now launched, and it's impressive from a specs point of view. Time to see how the S20 reviews play out.

You are wrong this is really old battery habits. For several years and actual battery tech it's not recommended to fully discharge , the best way to improve battery life is to stay over 20% and avoid fast charging. That is also not how phone calibrates batteries.

Battery life on the Snapdragon Note 10+ has been great. It stayed consistent with the Android 10 update. I had the Note 8 before this phone, and I'd have to say the 10+ is better.
Indeed the difference is not so abysmal as before

Actually, there is a comparison for Note 10+ Exynos vs Snapdragon and indeed, the difference in battery is now minimal, of course the weak point for the Exynos is still the Mali GPU. So it looks like for power comsuption is now more even between Exynos 9825 and Snapdragon 855 (which is kind of obvious since both are 7nm)

Interesting thanks.
One of the things I’ve been bitten with on iPhones is the effect on battery life of the inferior Intel modems they’ve been using for the last few years. I went from an iPhone SE to an Xs and the difference in signal strength was definitely noticeable, and that will affect power consumption too.
I’m not saying this is the same with the Exynos modem but do tend to think that at this point, Qualcomm modems are the better

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the OnePlus 8 Pro's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Most my phone's besides my Huawei Nexus 6P have all lost 0-1% overnight.
Even with tweaking I can only manage at best 1-2% which I know compared to other users is excellent but it's definitely worse than my previous phones.
Without tweaking for stamina and good hibernation the device uses about 2-10% depending on what's installed, which wasn't any difference to previous devices (app wise)
I'm happy with it, I'll keep tweaking and see if I can hit that magic 0%

Change 5G to 4G
Remove Facebook use web based
Remove Facebook messenger use web based
Remove Twitter use web based
Remove any ad based apps pay for the pro version
Turn off gestures like lift to wake
Change from QHD to FHD (No difference)
Allow auto brightness
Turn off WiFi overnight
Turn all updates to manual not auto (play store)
Remove any so you don't use
Change back up to once a month (WhatsApp)
Turn off location history (Google)
Use titanium to remove any system apps you don't need
Don't allow anonymous usage statistics for any app ever.
Don't allow tracking cookies on any website
Use adaway (root needed)
Don't open web pages in Google app (I use Samsung browser)
Don't use xposed.
If you game you will not get high SOT scores, period.
Don't bother with battery saving apps or monitoring apps.
Streamline your apps, if you don't use it, remove it.
Don't allow WiFi scanning (as in letting other apps use it when it's not on)
Never allow personalised ads.
Never allow notifications from websites
Always decline cookies unless your absolutely have to allow some tracking (common sense prevails here)
Optimise as many apps as possible unless it affects performance.
Don't allow apps to remain open in the notification area.
Change your launcher, my preferred launcher is lawn chair and this did actually burn up some battery when compared to the OnePlus launcher.
Don't use live widgets (yes they look cool, but they annihilate your battery)
Live wallpaper, again very cool, but battery burners.
Again! Don't charge overnight, make a note of your percentage then see what it is in the morning, you shouldn't be losing more than 5% really, if you've done well then it'll be reflected here, the good SOT results will follow.
Turn off live read outs of network speed, RAM usage in the status bar.
Turn off NFC unless in use.
Leave location on in quick settings.
Don't overcharge your phone, IE: overnight
Don't allow your phone to fully deplete the battery.
Whatever anyone says, this does 100% damage batteries, there is no argument here and I won't entertain anyone who says otherwise, Ive seen through real life tests what this results in, bloated, inefficient, possibly dangerous lithium batteries.
Keep your phone out the sun.
Keep it out of extreme cold.
Keep your device clean dust free.
Snapchat, Viber, house party, apps like that tends to use more battery as they don't have great dormancy periods.
Apps like speed test by Ookla tend to have location tracking, similarly they tend to turn themselves on and off when they feel like it, my advice, install test and uninstall.
Allow a couple of battery cycles between tweaking sets, to give you an idea of how much of a difference you've made.
Use BBS to see what is being used, once you've removed problems, remove BBS.
I've just written this from the top of my head so o probably missed some things, the general idea is to keep your device clean and fresh, remove files you don't need any more.
Keep an eye on apps that misbehave or aren't wanted, index your folders so they aren't a mess.
The more good things you do means the more potentially bad apps you can have on your phone, eg if you really need Facebook, you could keep it so long as you clean up other areas of your phone.
Good luck.

Cracking game though, I find android 11 open beta 1 charges really slow on a normal charger that's my only gripe with it, but battery is wow
I have a great screen on % ~13%h.
But standby sucks.
I also have removed/disabled stock apps, location of, only enable it when I use it, same with Bluetooth. But I still have 1-3% standby /h. Over night I loose 2-5 % and the same again right after I wake up and use it..
My standby time was so bad 3-4%h, that I rooted it and change doze with an app.
3% h over an day (12h) makes up 36% battery uses. Just laying in your pocket and doing nothing... That would be ~3h screen time.
Still can not get the standby time to 1% what it actually should be!

I'd look in alarms / wakelocks for the cause of your battery drain.
I have more like 0,7% / hr standby, 1,5-2% over night.
Uninstalling Facebook and Messenger would probably take me to 0,5 / hr and 1,5% overnight. This app is a f**** disaster, but unfortunately it's required in my company (Fb groups).

Wake gestures, like lift to wake.. Keeps the phone from sleeping..
Also don't worry about location, maintaining a location is now efficient than obtaining it for all apps in one hit.
I've never turned location off besides for Google, I pause location history, far too creepy.
I have no facebook, instagram or messenger, the only social apps I have are telegram and snapchat.
I use betterbatterystats but there is just no app that keeps the phone awak all the time. I have no f*** idea why it sucks so hard.
It's super annoying.
Android 11, drain is worse, SOT is worse and I've changed nothing compared to android 10.
Disappointing to say the least.

How's yours now?
I've just sent through all my apps and optimized all the ones I don't need running at full chat, also deleted some apps that may have been causing issues.
At the moment it's looking ok
3 hours up
1 hours SOT
92%
That's heading for 10 hours if I'm not mistaken, so may have been one of my apps or poor optimization on the phones part..
I'll keep an eye on it, have Gsam running as BBS simply wouldn't accept I'd granted app_ops permission?
Maybe an android 11 thing.

It's 120hz FHD. I honestly can't see much of a difference between QHD and FHD so taking a battery hit doesn't seem worth it.
I'm currently heading for 12 hours here. Have just been using XDA and watching some videos. No gaming today, WhatsApp and telegram.

I'm running blu-spark. Never used it before but it's idle performance is brilliant.
Very impressed. Also extremely low clocks 300mhz
Great tips from many members. My phone drains very minimally while standby.
While using the Tab S7+ for almost two weeks now, I consistently get approx. 6 hours of battery life (that is with the screen on 60fps, half brightness and mostly using office applications like Teams, Outlook, etc.). With the huge battery included and some reviewers indicating they are getting up to 10 hours of use, I'm not sure if I have some issues.
What are your experiences with respect to battery life?
My screen on time is very good. Can easily get 10 hours of SOT for light browsing etc. A bit of video here and there.

Thanks! That doesn't sound too good for me
I just have my tab s7 plus. And I get 6 hours and 20 minutes out of my battery with the screen set to 120 hz. You know when your screen is set to 60 hz when you go to settings - display - motion smoothnes is set to standard. I am right now testing how long my battery last when my screen is set to 60 hz. If you want to know which apps are draining the most battery life. Go to settings - device care - battery battery usage. For its Google chrome
Just tested it and I can do 8 hours and 50 minutes on one battery charge while the screen is set on 60 hz. It's not as good as the reviews say on YouTube. But largely better than my very old samsung galaxy tab pro 12.2

Thanks! Still a lot better compared to my 6 hours in low brightness on 60Hz. Guess I will return.:good:

It could be a manufactory flaw. But it is more likely that there are several apps on your tab that are draining your battery.
Mine is not a plus, so not sure if this is helpful. I get 10h from around 86% charge (I don't (dis)charge 0-100).
Mostly Netflix and video calls on wifi, some browsing, reading, and note taking.
This is with 60hz, and battery save feature which is supposed to limit max charge to 85% (Though that feature is questionable from what little testing I did.)
Check what apps are draining your battery. It's not necessarily a manufacturing flaw.
I am from India and i have the note pro 12.2 lte version which crazily enough i use as my primary phone. I have data enabled all the time with auto brightness mode on. I use the Galaxy Note 7 ported ROM for the P905. I use my note pro 12.2 to watch a lot of youtube videos, whatsapp chat, browse the web, checking and sending emails, reading word and pdf work documents, 30 to 45 mins of playing asphalt 8 and into the dead 2 and answering/making 4 to 5 voice calls a day. I get a solid 8 hours of SOT even now when i get the low battery alert at 15%. I got over 9 hours of SOT on Lineage 17.1 android Q but found the features too limiting compared to touchwiz and i missed the spen. And that is battery life on a 6 year old device. I do make sure to not charge it more than 90% and i .com not let the battery dip below 15% before i charge it. I guess i got lucky and got a tablet with a really good battery.
The tab s7 plus has almost the same size screen but has the major advantage of it being amoled versus the lcd screen on the note pro 12.2. Plus with the new power efficient cpu and a 10000 mah battery, i am surprised at the battery life most people are reporting. I guess being than thin comes at a price and there is less power generated mah for mah compared to the 8.8 mm thick P905.
Just got mine yesterday. The battery life is significantly better than that of my Tab S6. I'll see how it goes over the next few days.
Don't know exactly in SOT but working from home, I charge it once a day and am using it constantly from 9am till 11-12pm
I've change the changing procedure to slow. No fast charge, slowly changing and stop at 85(?) Prozent...It will be better for the battery lifetime

There's an in built option to stop charge at 85%. Though from my testing I don't think it's functional really.
I've checked the voltage on 100% with both on and off, and the values were the same.
Maybe someone who has it off could measure the voltage on 99-100 charge? Would be nice to comparte results.
We run CCleaner Pro 5.1.0 [for Android] set with max battery life and automatic cleaning mode. One of the useful functions is a 1-click Boost which puts to sleep/closes apps in batch mode. Appears to help with extending battery duration as we've run 5 days with everyday on/off use (messaging, browsers Dolphin, Puffin, Vivaldi, etc) between charging.
Also set maximum battery charge limit to 85 percent from Settings > Charging > slider button to On [85 percent]
I am a complete noob to the art of monitoring battery heallth & charging, not even sure if my question needs a new thread.
My S7+ has been in use for about 2 weeks. The first day, I charged to 100%, then enabled the 85% charge option and also installed Accubattery and set that to remind me to remove the charger at 80%. I have charged it only up to 80% ever since, on a slow charger.
Today, Accubattery Battery Health is showing Battery Health at 83% capacity. Does this mean the overall health has gone down by 17% in jus two weeks? Or do I need to learn a lot more about meassuring battery health, and if so, is there a dummy's guide anyone can point me to?
I bought it direct from Samsung, haven't made any ROM changes and am using the stock launcher. Love the tablet.

Bro, thanks for the Aida64 tip to see the real battery capacity.
It says ( Reported by android ) 9800 mAh
and ( From Database ) 10090 mAh
Was wondering how to see if this samsung feature was acualy working.

What exactly am I supposed to be looking at there?
I have the same issue here. I even went as far as to ring up Amazon and get them to send me a second one as my battery must be faulty if its only getting <50% (6-7hrs) when its advertised to run for 14hrs.
Upon receiving my new one. I did various battery stress tests and found that the new one had an even worse battery than my old one.
(Bare in mind both of them are at factory settings).
I did this test for about a week apples to apples comparison, then eventually returned the new one as my old one (which is only like maybe 2 days older lol) performed better in every single benchmark as well as battery.
So I either got really unlucky receiving two units with bad battery or this is just the norm?
EDIT:
Upon doing a quick google search; it seems like this is true across the board.

5hrs and 28 mins according to google and this article
Either way, i've noticed if I play a video, it roughly loses 10% per hour; but when browsing i can easily lose 10-11% every 30 mins.
I have the S23 Ultra since February 3rd and battery life gets better and better.
I don't know what to say. I think this s23 ultra is faulty. I can't be at 29% battery used with over 6 hours screen on time! Light use, from 80% charge
15 hours total uptime, 8 and a half hours screen off time, gotta sleep sometime. LIGHT performance profile used and screen at 60hz cause 120hz my eyes can hardly see. It's smoother yes, but barely, battery life is king for me
All on WiFi, location on, most apps sleeping. Gobsmacked. It's beating the redmagic 8 pro that's in the household with its 6k mah battery.
I'm expecting a lot less using mobile data, surely

Amazing battery
This phone is perfect
Got it since February 10th in the USA and I can only say battery has been great. Compared to my other phones ( coming from a pixel 7 pro and a Xiaomi mi 11 5g) the battery life is just excellent on this s23 ultra, for such a big device and huge screen size I think Samsung finally nailed it. No sleeping apps, not profile settings just plain stock and so far so good. Wifi and data on 24/7, location on 24/7, VPN 24/7 . The browser times where spent a huge time watching videos from it, almost an hour of video calling and shooting some video and photos, couple of sessions of gaming.

How much do you lose on standby? Say overnight, while sleeping, over 8-10 hours how much do you lose ?
My last check yesterday was 3 percent

Thanks, is that with WiFi data Bluetooth GPS etc off? How many hours standby did you lose 3% on?
The amazing battery life has a lot to do with the display too. It is a hugely more efficient panel.
Samsung gave the Galaxy S23 series a new energy-efficient AMOLED display
Samsung confirmed that it has fitted the Galaxy S23 line with a new type of AMOLED display that saves on power.
www.androidauthority.com
All on. Wifi. Data. Location. Bluetooth. Performance mode.
I'm so happy with this battery performance and am afraid to update OS when it comes out...Given the great track record of Samsung breaking things that don't need fixing, there's a high probability that the battery life will go for a toss
Had my s23 ultra since 7 Feb and consistently get just under 10 hours of SOT (most of my day is indoors on WiFi, with a 2 or 3 hours walk most afternoons in 4g)
I am running pretty.much on default settings for screen and battery - I just use my phone normally and forget about battery optimisation settings
This is the best battery.life EVER on a Samsung!
After 2 weeks with the 23u and my standard use of it i have from 85% to 30% (i never go below 30%) 4h SoT

I think it is ok. I use performance mode, all location, Bluetooth with watch, some 5G, some WiFi etc.
I mostly read on phone, scrolling...

Have you done anything specific in battery settings? Any debloating? Is this with wqhd + 120hz? Standard mode or lite mode? What's your battery settings ?

Yes I did debloat, light batter profile and battery saving (it's more than powerfu enough).
Plus I have disabled all the nearby services for smarthings find the phone offline wifi quick share etc.
I don't like having the phone always sending radio signals around for no reason

Can you give a brief list of what you debloated?
Also, android system intelligence service, is that even a necessary app? Would cause any issues if I disabled/deleted it?

Honestly I didn't track the changes, but I followed this guide
[DISCONTINUED] Samsung Galaxy One UI - Optimization Guide
THIS IS A SUGGESTED CONFIGURATION FOR SAMSUNG DEVICES OUT OF SUPPORT/CLOSED I - RECOMMENDED SETTINGS To Start With - Factory Reset before starting optimisations - Factory Reset after every Major update (One UI/Android) - Remove SIM before first...

I wasn't even too much aggressive with debloating, maybe I'll go for a second round
