SD-Card access on Samsung J320FN with Lineage OS 14.1 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just installed Lineage OS 14.1 on my SM-J320FN phone.
Most things seem to be working okay, but my biggest problem is with SD-Card access.
When I use the LineageOS file manager (Files), I get the message "Can't load content at the moment" when I select "extSdCard" from the menu.
I also use, File Manager by ASUSTek, this reads the sd-card without any problem, but if I try to copy, delete, rename, etc., any files the app just closes.
I have the latest version of TWRP installed on the phone and the file manager in there sees the sd-card fine and will read/write to it.
I have rooted the phone with Magisk and set Superuser Access to Apps and ADB.
Is there a way I can get the file manager apps to work?
Also, I don't know if this is related, but when I connect the phone to my PC via USB, all I get from the phone is an empty folder called "SM-J320FN".
Previously, I could see both the internal storage and the SD-Card, and all the files.

[Q] Cannot copy files to internal storage

I am unable to copy files to my internal storage. Is it a waste space which I cannot use! Please help.
Did you flash new ROM?
Can you be a bit more unspecific?
And by all means, do not tell us what happens when you try to copy a file onto the internal storage, especially keep an error message you might be getting secret, no one must know!
And most of all, never tell if you're not able to copy from the PC via USB or on the phone with a filemanager app.
It is working with FTP or using Wifi File Explorer only.
But not working with normal kies mode or usb debugging mode.

[Q] USB to PC Issue-Android 4.1.2 on phone ZTE N9810/Sprint Vital

Hi. I have Android 4.1.2, which is stock on my Virgin Mobile ZTE N9810 phone that is 4gLTE. It is also called Sprint Vital on Sprint. On the Android 4.1.2--when I hook it up to the PC via USB; it does not show folders like the app ES Explorer does on the phone. My problem is that older versions of Androids showed all files and folders on my Windows 7 H.E. PC. This version does not. I need to access the download folder on the sd card but can't. On the PC in Windows Explorer, it does not show all folders on SD card, including the folder "Download." I have a video on there that i need to transfer to my PC, but because it's not showing that folder, I cannot transfer the file. I can work around that, but don't want to. I want access to the Download folder. Tried searching in Windows Explorer too and it comes up empty. Don't understand why this is so different than older Android versions. Also tried to get to it from the Phone folder verse SD Card folder. Still no luck and cannot find mnt folder either with Android 4.1.2. Even tried changing the USB connection option, like "Install Driver", "Connect to PC Software," and "Media Device (MTP)"-default option.
Note: If I go to Phone/Download, images and pdf files are there-even though they are on sd card-, but this folder with a video is not. Also, I have Show hidden files and folders checked in windows explorer.
So in summary, I need to access the SD Card download folder on my PC from my phone through USB, but it is missing and folders do not show the same in Windows Explorer as they do in ES Explorer on the phone. It is almost like the phone chooses what to displayon my pc.

Dump full internal SD

Hi guys,
I want to change the ROM on my S3 but before i do this I want to make a full backup of the internal SD card. Is it possible to do this via ADB or ROM manager? Please note that I don't no care about the ROM setting etc just the other content like photos and personal files. Also I cannot just connect the USB cable and pull via Windows Explorer as it keeps missing files and I do not trust it.
Daniel
Put in a ext SD card, copy file with root explorer and never use "ROM manager" with a Sammy device. EVER

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 - bootloop - recover photos

I have problem with my Samsung, I've bee using it for some time with CM 11 - currentlly there is latest snapshot installed.
Anyway phone started showing some issues few days ago - but today it is just stuck on the boot.
I can get either into download mode and ClockWorkMod Recovery, but can't get ADB to connect to pull files I need.
I didn't also find my photos in CWM backup files (although I cannot extract all of them).
In CWM I can mount USB Storage - but this is external card, where there are no photos. They are in /sdcard/0/, but I can't force it to mount this as USB Storage.
What can I do? Any help and hints appreciated.
@Delwing: you can try to replace CWM by TWRP and access sdcard0 by its built-in filemanager. But probably your system or partitions are gone, then it won't work either.
When I go to install zip in CWM I can browse the directories I need, so I will give it a shot. Thanks for suggestion.
Although copying files to sd card throguh TWRP didn't work at least I see device in adb console, so now I am copying files to my computer
Thanks a lot!
@Delwing: you're welcome - you figured it out by yourself

Can't Access Android Inrternal Storage?

I have a Sony Xperia Z2 running Android 6.0.1 stock, unlocked bootloader, and custom kernel(abricot), with TWRP. Everything was fine until I encountered a problem with transferring files from PC to phone over USB. I booted into TWRP and ran the 'Fix Contexts' option. That fixed the copying problem. But now I cant seem to access my internal storage via ES File Explorer (or the default one). I can view all my pics on internal storage via gallery. While checking, I found out that /storage/emulated/0 isn't mounted. So I used the terminal in TWRP to mount it. But that didn't fix it either(the directory disappears after a reboot). I also tried to install a script I found on XDA that claimed to fix this problem with no luck. I am still able to access internal storage via TWRP File Manager and over USB(MTP). My last resort would be to do a clean install. What could be the cause of this problem? Is there a way I can fix it?
