somene?anyone? @ChazzMatt please help us. stuck on LG V30ThinQ screen
To enter recovery:
1. Turn off the phone by holding down the power button for several seconds.
2. Hold down the Volume Down and power buttons simultaneously.
3. When the LG logo appears, release the power button and then press and hold it again.
4. Continue holding both buttons until the "Factory data reset" menu appears.
5. Choose Yes twice. With TWRP installed, it will enter that rather than perform a factory reset.
To enter download mode:
1. Connect a USB cable to your computer.
2. Turn off the phone by holding down the power button for several seconds.
3. Hold down the Volume Up button.
4. While still holding it down, plug in the other end of the USB cable.
You can now run patched LGUP and flash a KDZ. Note that, when you do, you can select only some parts, like the modem.

My friend thought that to change from android to webos he had to press the power button and volume up to enter moboot, but he enter to the bootloader mode (big usb connection icon). I tried to power it off and combine power button and volume to see if I can get out of this and nothing. The only solution is to wait for the charge to deplete?
EDIT: It turned off by it self this thread can be close.
just so you know for the future, holding the power button along with the center button for a few seconds does a soft reset even while stuck in recovery or while booted in webos.
Hello, Gents.
My fat fingers inadvertently ticked a package in BK package disabler which led to the device freezing instantaneously (yes, I know, I suck). it was a system package which I failed to write down. anyway, the volume down+ power button trick does not work for me since I can't turn the device off - I go through the screens where the V30+ model page shows up then the LG logo follows; releasing the power button and pressing it after 2 seconds just restarts the process.
can anyone help me with the adb command to entry the dialog screen for the data wipe?
adb reboot recovery just gives me the robot with a message "no command" at the bottom.
adb recovery --wipe_data does thing.
TIA.
Hold down power and vol down for 8 seconds, phone will shut down and then reboot
release both buttons as soon as the screen goes off
after half a second hold both again
as soon as the lg v30 logo appears, release the power button and then hold it again (while doing this continue to hold the vol down button)
you need to get the timing right, but that will boot the v30 (you can also check videos on youtube for the g6 for example) into the factory reset screen, which will boot recovery (if you select twice yes) and perform a factory reset
I was factory reset > installing 21a but i forgot the 21a file wasn't in the sd card.
Now the phone is in the lg screen forever and i can't find a way to shut down the phone.
Connect via usb cable to PC,
then do a force reset (Power + Volume down), quickly keep only Volume Down pressed to get into fastboot/bootloader mode.
Once it's in fastboot mode ("bootloader"), tap volume down to switch between "Reboot" and "Shut down".
Once "Shut down" is displayed gently tap the power button, that should turn the phone off.

It should be: Turn Off Your device.
Now Press and Hold Volume Down+Power button for 2-3 Seconds Until LG Logo Appears.
Release the Buttons And Press and Hold them Again.
Hold the Buttons until the Recovery Mode Screen Appears.
Now You Are in the Recovery mode of Your device.

This may work too but the way I've done it and the way I've seen it explained is to "release the power button and press and hold it again, while leaving the volume down button pressed the entire time".
Old LG G5 I had previously installed Lineage on. Was in a drawer until I decided to charge it up and let one of my kids play games on it. When I input the correct screen lock pattern, it goes black, then comes back to lock screen.
I am able to hold power button to then select power off, restart, etc. From power off, I power on and get the orange triangle recommending to lock the bootloader. But no combination of power and vol-down or power and vol-up will get me to TWRP. It just rolls right back in to Lineage.
Also, from power off, if I plug in to my Linux laptop, it will power on and go to fastboot.
Feels like USB debug got turned off and/or trust somehow got revoked, but I never had this laptop connected to it so probably doesn't matter. But like I said, my unlock pattern is working. I get different response with correct pattern versus incorrect.
I'm also able to see the phone from my https://google.com/android/devicemanager page. I tried to send a secure and erase thinking it might let me start from scratch, but I only see a notification that "Device Located" and it never does anything.
And finally, lsusb -v does see the phone, but adb devices never does.
My question is any idea how to get back to TWRP to wipe and push an updated image or even put an updated TWRP?
Try this ...
It's like getting into Stock Recovery. To get into TWRP Recovery using button combination (hard reset) you'll need to hold volume down button and power button simultaneously, releasing power button (temporarily) once LG logo appears then quickly pressing and holding power button again, all the while maintaining hold on volume down button. The stock recovery message (white background) will appear requiring you to select volume up/down button to continue to reset software (see attached image). If you select yes it will appear to factory reset but will actually boot into TWRP.
Hope that helps!
