Remix OS going to sleep right after first boot - Remix OS for PC

Hi I am new to using remix os not sure if I am missing something simple or not but After I get the dual boot option select Remix OS and then hit esc to select residential mode the screen goes to sleep on me and doesn't show anything. I have tried several different monitors and different connections form VGA, Display Port and HDMI. I am running this on a Dell Optiplex 3050. Let me know if am I missing anything obvious. Thank you

Acer DA241HL Smart Display 24"

I'm looking for help with a few Acer DA241HL devices I have. I updated a couple of them to the newest system update which added a "portrait" mode, however since these screens are for desks/tables are therefore are meant to be left in horizontal mode, the Acer devs basically just made a thin resolution to fake the "portrait" effect (i.e. it's like 640x1080 centered in the screen instead of 1080x1920 titled 90 degrees, by default it's 1920x1080).
I want to rollback the firmware, from what I gather, I need to be able to access fastboot on the devices that I didn't update and perform a full backup? Then push that backup to those devices that I want to "rollback"?
My problem is that it's a Smart Display, when I reach the bootloader by doing adb reboot bootloader, the options show up after reboot for about 5 seconds before it shuts down. However, during those 5 seconds, pressing Volume Up/Down on the display only changes the volume up and down for the built-in speakers (the OSD pops up showing volume level), so I have no idea how I can switch options with only the 5 buttons available:
Input (button to switch between HDMI input mode, so you can use it as a 2nd display for your laptop or similar OR switches back to the Android boot)
Options/Menu button (for the OSD, to change brightness, contrast etc.)
Minus button (for Volume down or moving down in options menu)
Plus button (for Volume up or moving up in options menu)
Power button
When I'm in the bootloader, it's difficult to exit it and boot into Android... it seems I have to hold the power button when it's off and keep it held until it powers on then wait ~1-2 minutes while still holding the power button until it turns back off... then it seems to boot into normal Android...
If anyone has one of these devices and knows how to select the options in the bootloader it'll be a great help since I can't access fastboot unless I select it in the options
Anyone?
I guess no one else has this device, I've updated but really need to figure out a way to root the device as Acer introduced "portrait mode" around November but it sets the display as portrait within the horizontal screen (meaning it shows up like a mini centered screen on the larger horizontal view!) and we need it to be back to the old portrait mode which filled the whole screen (it was basically horizontal screen rotated 90 degrees).
Acer (Switzerland) seems to stop resetting devices back to original factory firmware (before October 2013), anyone with an older firmware and details on how I can fix some of the devices (which were updated to newer firmware which adds the 'portrait mode' that breaks things for us...)
Acer da241hl - Broken Portrait Mode After OS Update
Hello all
I have the same problem as the poster above. Originally my Acer da241hl 24" Android All-in-One supported true portrait, if I rotated the display using a rotation locking app. However after applying a 4.21 update the device shows a 'fake' portrait on a landscape screen with the black sides showing.
Does anyone know if it is possible to root this device and load a custom firmware or at least an older version of the firmware? I have tried speaking to Acer support but get nowhere with them unfortunately.
From research it looks like this the Acer bespoke OS patch broke truePortrait - Build 3.1.10-gbd78f6b
....and this version worked:
Core:
3.1.10-gcffd7df

Build:
JOP40D.UI1_30F21
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Semi-Brick : is it the hardware or Software

My tablet is HKC P077A with 8GB ROM, 512 RAM and a 7'' Touch screen (Android 4.0.3). I am having 2 problems
When I switch on the tab, first "HKC" logo comes to screen and then disappears to show "android". This is standard. But after that the thing wont move forward. Just keeps on showing "andriod" with a flashing like thing implying the loading process. But after long wait there is no start screen and nothing changes. It just hangs there....
But if somehow got it to get into normal working(I donno how, but It sometimes boots ok and gets into normal working mode, with home screen and apps and everything). So once I get it right the other problem I am having is that the touch is giving VERY bad response. I have to click at spots multiple times to select that thing. Also the response is very slow. Its like the tablet is hanged. But when I tried connecting a mouse (through OTG) and everything works fine again. Is my touchscreen gone bad..??
I am already done with, reset (from "settings> backup and reset") [I cant find how to do factory reset on this model from "off" state(read below)]
I have tried to get into reset screen by pushing "Power Button+Vol up" button. Then I know the tab gets turned on (I can hear a small white noise from the loudspeaker) but nothing comes to screen. So the "Robot with heart open" is never shown. I also tried using "power button + Volume down", this takes me to a screen written in chinese. Now, I don't know Chinese but from the look and feel, its a troubleshooting window, where I can check weather components of my tablet are working (eg. I click one menu(with difficulty), then the front cam turns on, another menu makes loud sounds from speaker and another flashes many colors in screen etc). I found that most are ok except something called "T" (On the screen, its the last item to the right, is it "touchscreen"??)
So, what can I do to get my tab to work smooth again..? Is the touchpad having trouble..? Need I do any specific troubleshooting..?? Any Ideas on which key combinations to get on to the "factory reset" menu from off state..??
Also can u please specify the key combinations to the tablet factory-reset menu from "off" state.

Resuming from Standby on a Sony VAIO Flip 13a

Hi,
Remix OS installation was fine for me but I am having another issue. When I resume from Standby the laptop screen either stays blank or starts to flicker with the Remix OS desktop. If I press the power button again then the "Standby, Reboot, Shutdown" buttons and I am able to do so.
So in my mind at least the laptop did not freeze and only the screen is not displaying after Standby
Thanks for your help
Dont let it go to standby. Use "Any Screen Timeout" and set it to infinite.

(Feature Request) Dual Displays

Hi, I tried to run remix OS with two displays but with no success. The second screen just shows a black screen with a small cursor at the top left. Is there any way to make using two displays possible with remix?
Thanks!

Display Options

Hi everyone,
I recently installed Remix on my laptop, and I'm loving it so far. I do have several issues though, mostly regarding my display.
In display settings, when I set the "Sleep" option to "Never", the screen goes very dim after about 15 seconds of inactivity. It doesn't brighten again when you tap the screen or type on the keyboard. The only way to brighten it again is to use the brightness keys to turn the brightness down, then turn it up again.
Also, when my computer goes to sleep, when I wake it up again, the screen is off and it is totally unresponsive, even though the power light is on. The only way to get it to respond is to force it to shut down, and then power it on again.
Any advice on how to fix either of these two problems would be greatly appreciated! :good:
Thank you!

You may try pressing the power button briefly a second time. This works for me to bring back the display responsiveness.
Best, maris

This doesn't seem to work for me.
Same issue here with the auto dim feature even when disabled.
This dim issue was solved by setting sleep after duration to 30 minutes.
