how do I activate the eye sensor? or is it on automaticly? are there any settings about I can change?
Settings>Display>Smart stay.
Seems not to work so well for some. Almost flawless for me. YMMV.
The eye icon will only appear just before the time the screen would normally go off, this is when it looks for eyes and decides if the screen should be kept on.
I think a lot of people expect to see the icon all the time.
I have the "smart stay" enabled but it does not work for me. I have only had it for a day in in door light, so I don't know if that is the problem. I have verified that the front facing camera works by placing a Skype video call. Also, I have brown eyes.
Why do you say that it doesn't work? What the smart stay does is, after an amount of time it sees if you are look to the screen, if you are it keeps the screen on, if you are not it closes the screen.
Mine works and i also have brown eyes.
I have small eyes and it works for me
It works for me 50% of the time. It depends on the angle you hold the phone and the amount of lighting.
I don't know how it worked in the Samsung commercial that was advertising this feature given how dark the room was.
I know this phone has a lot of issues with overheating, especially while using the camera, but recently I bought this phone and it came with a very strange camera problem. I must say first that the phone isn't new it's already used but neverthelss I didnt expcet everything to be working flawless but this thing kind annoys me.
This is the problem that I am facing with watch?v=ANLkCRZ-M-g ( just paste this after youtube com because I am not allowed to post links )
Is is possible to be a software problem or just a camera sensor is not working properly ? Device is running on Marshmellow 6.0.1.
Thanks in advance. Help would be appreciated.
Hello, try to look into your camera glass lens, is it clear?? or you can see some scratches with random colors?
The video shows a kind of glare.
Is it the same in the dark or just in the daylight?
it would be better if you can post here some close photos of the camera lenses.
No matter what, light or dark, pic and video always have the same glare of light which sometimes change colour into pink or lightblue like the one shown in the video . No scratches found on the lens.
Here are the pics, just as above first type imageshack com and then the rest.

If the phone back cover and the camera lens are clear as you said and properly sealed than it is a hardware problem probably. camera could be replaced and it is not very expensive.
Hello , so i have a pretty long story and i would like you to help.
First off, i went to a beach or whatever its not really important, then i wanted to kinda show off my phone to somebody, so ive put it into water. It was not deep, i didnt even stick the whole phone in it, and the flap was tight closed. I then saw it has kind of some condensation inside the lens of my camera, i was pretty scared, so i checked and made a photo with it which probably lead to the problem. The watersensitive thingy still remains white so the water didnt go trough the flap. But lets get into the problem after about 10 lines of text.
i wanted to dry it out and i were outside so ive put it into a pocket of my coat and the condensation went away after like 4h. But what i noticed, the camera was not working, it just crashed the app. Also the flashlight , it even disappeared from the quick settings menu. I wanted to wait for it to maybe work again and it did. But i couldnt switch to ANY mode besides auto. I took some photos which were decent quality, the the app crashed, and when i reopened it it was glitching out like hell, i reopened it again and it was fine. I wanted to make a photo again but when i shot it, i heard like repeatedly shutter sound from the hardware camera, not from my speakers, and i just quickly turned off the camera. And it went down again, no camera, no flashlight. I waited like 10 days more and today, like 20 mins ago its back, but i still cant switch the mode. It works and all but i dont want to shoot any photos yet. Is there any fix, did anybody experience that?
Edit: i have took a photo and it didnt look terrible but i can only shoot in 5mp max, also the front camera has all these red and pink pixels like a very low end one, even worse, but the post processing makes it look pretty normal
Okay, so some strange things happened, when i wanted to make some photos i first noticed the screen is on full brightness but when i go into the camera its still full but the brightnrss is lower until i turn off the screen, also when i changed to the front camera i noticed its better, but when i switched it back the camera crashed, and the flashlight setting disappeared for a second, i dont want to use the camera and let it chill for a while
now i can shoot photos in 23mpx, but still can't switch to any mode, this is gonna be a fun ride...
My fit gear (1st gen) worked flawlessly for 3 months, until I got it covered in fine dust and rinsed it off with water. Now, the screen is dim, showing only red/orange hue, even though all the functions on the watch are fine. Sometimes, it will glitch for half a second and show half of the screen intact, only to go back to the dim, reddish screen. The watch is supposedly dust and water proof, so I don't know what happened. I'd love to post a picture/video of it, but don't see that option on this forum. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
Just got the wife's S9+ back from screen repair and now there are horrible dots on any pictures that are taken using either the front or back cameras. They are on the screen even before taking any pictures and then show up on all pictures no matter the lighting , angle, or anything. Has anyone seen this? Is it a known issue or do you think something happen when the screen got broke (was smashed in car door but only the screen was broke not the body or anything. It was in an otterbox) or could something have happened when they replaced the screen?
