Hello, my first post here. I have a Redmi note 5 that suddenly wouldn't turn on. I thought it might be the battery, so I replaced it. The phone would turn on but when it came to charging, it would charge for a few seconds and then stop charging. So I thought it might be a problem with the charging base, so I bought a new one (https://www.amazon.es/MM-Mobitec-Placa-Xiaomi-Redmi-Puerto/dp/B07GWH9F4W). I installed it in the phone... But it didn't work.Thinking that it could be a software problem, I changed the ROM (from MIUI to AOSP). When I connect the charger it says that it is "charging slowly" and keeps disconnecting after a while. Any ideas and solutions?
Dust in the micro usb port, cable and or charger is maybe the problem

Thank you for your response. It is none of those 3 things. I have tried 3 different chargers and cables and replaced the micro usb part with a new one (link). It doesn't charge at all but I have noticed that when the battery reaches 0%, if I put it to charge it charges "normal" up to about 80% (with the phone off).
Google charging redmi 5 plus maybe bug and xda. I found many tips
I sold my redmi 5 plus to a neighbor with dark age kernel and he have still no problem with the phone. The full charging bug I had fix with a how to here around. Something with unplug battery... Google the fix. Google is your friend. Because we make them rich

Thank you! I had not found that publication. I installed the zip as explained but it didn't work. It still won't load. I think my main problem is that it loads for a few seconds and then disconnects. Then it reloads the phone and disconnects again.

I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 that is completely unresponsive.
New fully charged battery doesn't even work.
It doesn't register anything when a an OEM charger & OEM cord is plugged in.
Zip, nada, zilch, nothing...
I tried tapping it thinking the power button was stuck and no dice.
Any thoughts?

Done.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks!
Just a thought here. If your battery is dead then you'll see absolutely nothing from the phone. It's an issue I've always had with Samsung. If Xiaomi has a dead battery, it will flash a blinking red LED to tell you there's a problem, with Samsung, it's all guess work.

Are you absolutely sure it's fully charged? I'm leaning towards the port being damaged therefore, no current delivered but the battery being dead.
Hmm, any chance it's been water damaged? I'm yet to have a Samsung phone completely die on me. They're usually very reliable as far as phones go.

What was the brand of that new battery you used before the phone died?
Was it an original samsung battery or something like ravpower battery?

Both batteries are OEM Samsung.

Yes. A friend's S4 charged them both fully and he has no issues with his S4.

Yes they were. No water damage at all.
No water damage? Gets tricky at this point then. You say when you plug in you get a light? Have you tried dismantling the phone and checking whether the power button is okay?

Ok, just out of curiosity because happened the same thing to me some days ago, and to a bunch of other people on the net: new battery (non-oem in my case), worked flawlessly just for 1 day and now is completely dead, now I'm wondering if it really was the battery that killed our phone. (Q: Did you ever charge the phone wirelessly?)
The PC (win10) recognizes it as qhsusb_bulk, but the phone won't charge or won't turn on at all.
Take a look here, I came to the conclusion that the problem could be the Power Management IC and looks like a common problem even on iPhones and latest Galaxy phones. Here is the supposed fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vopBZ9_1tyg
I personally love this phone (GT-I9506) and I've already bought another one to use while I'm repairing this (not at official samsung centers), hopefully with success.

redmi note 3 charging fix
I too had the same problem and I tried flashing in fastboot and other things stated in internet. But I replaced charging port newly purchasing online. If your mobile is still in warranty period fix it in service center or replace it yourself. Check YouTube for how to replace charging port. You can buy charging port from eBay or Amazon or any other desired site. Check your phone has 24 or 30 pin in charging port board of your phone. Because Redmi has two variant. If you have any doubt just google it.

Its not about USB cable or USB debugging its just voltage problem.. When I was in middle east my phone is charge normal.. But when I am in India its continuously disconnecting
Don't do R&D..Keep your phone calm for whole night..it will be fine in the morning.

I don't think it's ROM or kernel,
I have the same issue.
It doesn't charge even in power OFF mode, and also with the STOCK ROM.
I changed the charger/cable. doesn't work.
I use an app called 'ampere' and it's saying the phone is discharging. but the cable is plugged.
probably it's the charging socket.

Had the same problem & solved it
Hi,
I had the same problem - when connecting the charger (any charger/laptop etc I tried) the phone started charging, then stopped and started charging randomly.
What I did: Open the phone, brushed the USB board, took dusk and dirt out of the USB port, and it works like a charm again.
I used this instruction video and followed the steps exactly, apart from taking out the USB board which isn't necessary if you only clean it. You will need some tools (most importantly a small screwdriver and an (old, used) toothbrush.
I'm a new user so I cannot post the link. Search on youtube for the video with the title: How to Replace Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Note 4 , Redmi 4A , Redmi 4 and Redmi 3s Carging port ( Pin )
Good luck.
I have solved this problem
Turn on USB debugging from developer mode then put your phone on charging for 1 full night in switched off mode ...
It will charge normally
.
.
.
Tell us if its work for u ... your feedback will help others
its work for me after researching for 3 days
If you guys are using fast charge or QC chargers with custom kernel, Sorry to say that charging and discharging randomly is because of that. You are gonna destroy zener diode which stabilize current passing thru it. If input current suppress 5V it will burn your zener and your device will completely stop charging. (Only working aftermath way is removing burnt diode)
I highly recommend you guys to stick with stock chargers. Or use kernel that limits its current to 2100mA (approx) (Agni kernel has it) to avoid damage to zener diode.
P.S:- Once you replace your USB board, I am pretty sure that you will face some serious network issue like most of users (those changed board) are facing.
Hi everyone.
My battery isn't giving power to phone.
I can boot only when i'm charging my phone but when i unplug the usb cable, the phone shut down immediately.
When i plug the cable, it show my battery percentage at 29%.
I just purchased and tested a new battery BM46 and tried to see if the fault was on my previous battery but it's the same with the new one.
Do anyone know something? Some cable I could have unplugged by mistake?
Thanks in advance guys

install ampere app and check how much max current its pushing into battery .
here is the result
I tried to unplug and plug back the battery, and this result is showing for 5 second and then go back to the previous result..
anyone ?
perhaps you burned out the diode see this thread, although I would try every other option before messing with the diodes, try another cable and charger first.

forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/redmi-note-3-charging-usb-dead-warning-t3712738
anyways do at own risk, again I would make sure its not a dead usb charger or bad cable first, or even software problem try to charge it in shutdown mode or recovery.
Hey, thanks for your help !
I tried to break both zeplers but nothing.
To recontextualize, i can't even boot with my battery plugged in. So i think it's elsewhere.

Disconnect the battery and plug your device in to a PC or laptop and check it with 2-3 different working data cables, if you get a Mi logo then it means the batter was/is dead. if it still doesn't work and you don't get anything on the screen then try to flash a MIUI Stock firmware and see what it says. i had the same problem apparently but in my case the EmmC died on my mobo so i replaced it and it's been working fine for 4 moths now.
Not seen that mentioned before willing to give it a try... Any links on how to do it... Google didn't bring anything back only charging boards? Sorry that was in reply to the zener diode comment.
Tried unplugging battery multiple pcs and cables no life from screen at all..
Thanks found the diode removed it and now I have flashing red led!

try plugging it into a computer and see if it detects anything.
if it does, try flash a firmware.
if it doesn't, leave it there for a bit to see if it does turn on.
