i am fiddling around with my old mate 10 pro and it has twrp installed and i want to replace that with stock recovery and i have flashed stock recovery through fastboot but its not sticking as twrp does something to patch stock rom from being overwritten, is there a way to reflash stock recovery back, thank you.

Hello guys,
Today i am going to unlock (Official way) my device and going to try AOSP 5.1.1 V4.
My doubt is
1) If i want to revert back to Miui, If i use fastboot rom and flash full rom, will this make my bootloader locked again.
2) If i flash miui recovery rom using twrp without modified boot.img and i dont want twrp and revert back to default miui recovery how to do so.....
3) If i change to miui recovery after flashing recovery rom with twrp do i again need to flash modified boot.img.
I suggest to make full recovery image of original miui. After clean install with full wipe i had problems with unlocking phone.

1) Yes
2) You cant, you will need TWRP, modded boot.img & MIUI ROM else it will bootloop
3) Yes
Hi i have a GR5 KII-L33 model (single sim), can i use any rom for kiw-l21, l22, etc. (CM13 and others)?
do i need to do extra steps? i dont want to brick my phone :silly:
Hey
make sure that you take full stock backup before flashing the ROM
use fastboot boot twrp.img to run twrp without replacing stock recovery then backup everything
after that you can flash twrp with normal command then flash cm
after flashing the ROM, you need to follow these steps here, to get your single sim working
I answered you in cm thread and here to talk more [emoji14]
And yes you can use any CM/AOSP Roms, don't mess around with stock roms

hi, just curious about the backup everything.
does TWRP backup our stock recovery partition? because you said that we have to boot twrp then backup everything. i wonder if we restore using twrp, will our old/original recovery return? i know that we can use update.app to restore stock recovery and rom.
i am new to this huawei device since i've been using htc one x and did flash custom rom also twrp. but my device is KII-L22 and keen to flash crpalmer's CM.
thanks.
Hello guys
I was on stock android and stock recovery oos 3.1.3. I tried to change recovery using fastboot so i tried so many recovries, but unable to flash anyone then i found twrp recovery by teamspark so i flashed it and successfully done, but problem with it is, i am not able toh flash paranoid rom and stock rom using this recovery and even the stock recovery is also not flashable now, just stuck on logo whenever i flash stock recovery. So which recovery i can use which can correctly flashable and i can flash paranoid rom by that successfully.
Thanks in advance.
Flash old stock recovery followed by any OOS 2.X.X firmware . Now you can proceed with PA. Note dont use any of the twrp's designed for mm bootloader.

First of all, you have to downgrade your bootloader. Then you can flash any recovery for the old bootloader.
Thanks i m done now

Thank you so much brother now i m able to flash.
I am on Global stable miui 8.2.4 but for some reasons i don't like it and i wanna downgrade to 8.1.15 . I have Twrp installed and rooted . Can i flash recovery 8.1.15 rom using twrp ?
Or i need to flash a fastboot rom using twrp ?
somebody?
I have flashed stock 8.2.4.0 from 8.2.2.0 with flashfire, although I have twrp too. No problems just put the zip in right folder.
Yes you can. I have flashed both dev and stable. @jazzh mentions something about folders. TWRP doesn't really care about that.
Be warned though that flashing the official zip also replaces the recovery and there is a bug with 8.1.15 where you cannot flash TWRP back afterwards.
If you go back to 8.1.15 and want to use TWRP for flashing a custom rom simply use
fastboot boot [recovery name].img
to soft load TWRP and do all your work from there up.
Yes, that's a good advice.
I soft boot twrp whenever performing backup or updating magisk.
I just mentioned folders because flashfire is started from os and it will look into the ota folder and if it finds the zip it will offer rebooting to perform the update.
EDIT: I figured it out myself, for anyone else in the same situation: I downloaded the proper Stock Rom for my phone and just flashed it with fastboot flash, no custom recovery was needed. After that I simply flashed Lineage OS and it's working like a charm.
Hello, I recently switched back to an Android phone that's why I'm a bit rusty. I successfuly installed Resurrection Remix on my Huawei P20 Lite.
After realizing there is no Notch support I decided to go back to stock or switch to Lineage OS.
Now I have two questions:
1) On the OpenKirin page it says you need stock EMUI 8.0 before you apply one of their ROMs. Does this mean if I want to switch to Lineage OS I need to go back to stock EMUI or can I go from RR to Lineage?
2) I downloaded 'Huawei P20 Lite-ANE-LX1 8.0.0.144(C432).zip' from xda which is supposed to be the stock rom. In the instructions on here it says I need to install TWRP. However OpenKirin says their ROMs don't work with TWRP. Can I just flash the stock firmware with adb fastboot, like described in the OpenKirin FAQ?
So my question basically is, what do I have to do to go from RR with stock recovery back to stock EMUI?
im in the same problem.. my fone brick in twrp logo.... i dont know how pass this logo
You can use eRecovery to download the entire ROM, you need the stock recovery and flash it with fastboot (fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img) then go to the recovery mode and download the rom using WiFi and that's all, as advice I recomend you always make a system backup in the sdcard using TWRP. Sorry for my bad english. You can dowload the recovery here

What file did you flash in fastboot, the full-ota file?
