Hi there!
I wanted to create a Samsung Account to use all of the features my tablet supports.
I already had one because of a Galaxy Watch S3, but now it always wants my mobile number so I can continue using the account.
Is there any way around that?
I saw that they support OTP, but when I want to enable the 2FA it only sasys I have to give my mobile number to continue.
As my Tablet is WIFI only I don't want to give Samsung my number.
Do you have a clou for that?
Thanks in Advance!
2FA requires a phone number to send auth messages too... there is no way around it if you want the extra security.
I hate these Data mining things!
Theres no problem giving the opportunity to do the OTP from the beginning without having to register your phone number.
All companys only want your data.
Sorry, but that drives me nuts as IT security guy.

With Andy Rubin's latest tweet (Senior VP of Mobile at Google and Android founder). He stated that there are currently over 500,000 Android devices activated every day.
Can someone take the time to explain the Android activation process and how the figure of 500,000 daily activations is comprised? What information is passed to register your phone / tablet etc as a new device, is it the the unique IMEI or the carrier cell phone number activation with data sourced from these or is it much simpler and less accurate by just agreeing to the Terms and Conditions on the Market on a fresh install?
Another query but in the same vein, if you've previously wiped your phone and re-installed multiple ROM's, would each of these be classed as a unique activation or does it go back to the singularly unique IMEI and is activated only the once?
Cheers.
It's based on the first Android Market connection (Google Account / Device Serial association)
Google uses IMEI when device is activated. They can tell the duplicates from anyone doing a full wipe.
Activation is done when logging into the google account during setup
Thanks for that
On previous Samsung models I was not able to enter my corp server address because we use an IP followed by a port number. Like 123.123.123.123:1234.
When I enter my info the box that says continue is grayed out. Im hoping that Samsung has corrected this.
would somebody please try and set up a corp email account. You can use any email address you want, Im just trying to see if the email client will even let you proceed when you enter the server info as I noted above.
Thanks in advance.
lol they dont have a url forward setup for it?

large company with an extremely stubborn IT department. The server address is accepted on HTC, Apple and Moto phones. On Samsung phones from the past, I had to use a third party client, like Enhanced Email.
My company is going to be switching to MobileIron application to use with our smart phones. My question is what data/information is captured and retained. I would assume all work emails would be captured and accessible through this application by the company. But does the company have access to photos, text messages, search history, phone calls, etc. on my phone. Basically I'm asking how big of a big brother is MobileIron for my phone?

My company is using MobileIron. MobileIron has access to I guess everything on my phone. So I suppose my employer can get access to all my personal data. Keep track of where I am going. Monitor my calls ... It's frightening. I often wanted to delete all this stuff from my phone. But so far I didn't do this because then I loose access to my work-agenda when I am on the road.
My son committed suicide in September and his phone was found near his body. He put a pin lock on his phone. I've tried two of the 5 times available to open the phone with no success. I stopped by a local phone service business who directed me to this site suggesting someone might be able to help.
Initially, I was desperate to open the phone thinking there might be a clue as to why he ended his own life. We had no idea he was considering such an act. Since then I've had second thoughts about trying to open his phone, yet, I can't help but wonder if he might have left a note on the phone.
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7.
I've just joined this group to see if someone can help. I look forward to hearing from you experts on the possibilities.
Hi , if it was adb enabled you can remove pin code by following this method .

Opening PIN locked phone of deceased son
Thanks for the suggestion. I started to review the full video but confess that I stopped after it appeared to assume I could log into my son's "Gmail" account which I cannot do. I reached out to Goggle and of course the won't help me log into the account. They might provide me some of the content of his emails.
At this, I have no way of accessing any email accounts with either Samsung or Google's Gmail in order to help open up the phone.
Frankly, I'll know within minutes whether there is something he left for us, his parents. If it help make anyone comfortable in helping me I could provide my son's death certificate minus social security numbers and other security risk data. I doubt you it would be useful but it's a form of proof at least that I'm not trying to break into just anyone's phone.

There is a way to remove Google Account by using twrp Recovery image for your device .
Search on the internet twrp recovery for your Model and instruction how to flash twrp recovery .
Once you install custom twrp recovery go to:
data/system/ and delete
Accounts.db
now reboot
You are done
twrp recovery question
If I go through the twrp process you describe will it leave the data that's on the phone intact? It would be nice if the phone still had access to the gmail account my son had. It sounds as if the process you recommend will disassociate the phone from his gmail account. Is that right.
Is this the only way to disable the pin lock which is all I want to do.

Hello,good day everyone
This is bloodygood(oh I really don't want to say my name) from Nigeria
Please I am having problems with my phone or should I say WeChat,I probably don't know
I have downloaded and installed WeChat from playstore five times now and also register five times, but anytime I register and scan the WeChat (which is really hard this days) it always blocked my account(I always register new account because it's really hard to unblock it) but my other friends have theirs still working up to 5 months
And they always Suggest it's my phone that's making WeChat to block my account
So guys I really want to know where the problem originate from. my phone is a Tecno camon 11,4gb and 64gb RAM, thank you.
@Bloodygood
There’re three types of WeChat account blocked, One is temporary block and can get unblocked by yourself. The other one just can’t get unblocked by yourself, you need to ask WeChat to help you unblock it. Or you need to wait for one or two weeks to unblock it or it will be unblock automatically. As for the last one is permanently block, there’s no way to unblock it, as you’ve violated the terms of WeChat so much.
Thank you for your reply @jwoegerbauer
But this is the first time I am hearing that temporarily blocked WeChat can automatically get unblocked by itself.
But why do all my 5 separate WeChat account keep getting blocked ?
Is it from my phone
Because it is perfectly working on others but when it comes to mine it is always writing security threat like this account is suspicious.
Have you tried logging in from different IP or using VPN?

The reasons for WeChat account block
1. WeChat you downloaded on your phone is from an unofficial channel.
2. Phone is rooted what put your WeChat account security endanger.
3. Your WeChar account is reported to send or share some content including lewd content, violent materials, scams, inappropriate rumors, annoying ads, etc.
4. The phone number you used to log in or register WeChat is provided by virtual network operators.
5. You are using a phone number for WeChat account that is operating abnormally.
6. You've been reported by other users for multiple times.
7. You are using WeChat account for violating its terms.

I downloaded it from playstore
My phone is not rooted
I actually don't have less than 4 people on my WeChat
Which I have never send inappropriate things
The number is alright I have used it on other sites, they are all working perfectly
Even I was reported,I never did receive a warning
So I'm afraid of registering a new one in my phone to avoid being blocked
Maybe WeChat have got my Mac address,my IP address and my serial number,so that anytime I do register on that device I will surely get blocked
@Bloodygood
Wondering why you don't simply contact WeChat Help Center to get your problem solved?
