As in the title, if someone has or tested both of these phones, I would be extremely grateful for the opinion. 90% of the time my phone is used to watch movies the speakers and the screen are the most important to me.

Have you had the opportunity to test both phones? I had the opportunity to compare only with the older Lenovo model and the Lenovo was louder, but in terms of quality it was much worse.

The sound is really great on the Dual 2. It's much and much better then the first model. I'm going to see a friend soon and he has the Rog 5. I can compare them then.

Great news, I'm waiting for your reply.
I have , LENOVO LEGION is heard a little louder, but without a doubt the audio quality of ROG5 is superior both in speaker and headphones

The Duel 2 speakers are much louder then the Rog 5. The bass is also more hearable. Don't know about headphones. We didn't compare that. My friend was really blown away about the Duel 2 speakers, because he returned the first Duel for bad speakers and didn't thought the Duel 2 where that better.

I actually did a speaker comparison on my YouTube channel which you can check out. I'd agree that the Legion 2 speakers are probably the LOUDEST I've heard on a phone but the sound of the Rog is a bit richer in my opinion. Similar to last year where I tested the Legion vs Rog 3
ROG 5 has the best quality sound without any doubt, it's not all about loudness. Whether it's the best choice of device overall is another story but in terms of speakers, it takes the no1 spot

I have the legion 2 after my new ROG died..was between the red magic 5s or the duel 2 and I'm so happy I went for the duel...massive amounts of base and very loud in comparison to the new ROG
Lenovo hands down. Unbelievably great sound!!! Realy great! Watching videos is fantastic. Better than all my phones so far including Samsung.

What do you think about the RN4(SD) audio quality? Bass? How clear is it? Is it loud? Ty for answers!
It's above average
It's loud enough for music and gaming....
Though sometimes you can block the audio from the speaker while gaming or watching movie....

Sound quality of Rn4 [SD] is awesome. You'll get some pre-defined sound settings to set according to your headphone or ear phone. I've tested my Samsung earphone with standard setting and the output was awesome.

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I am searching for best android phone for music and found redmi note 4.
Previously I have used redmi h1s and the sound quality was very poor I mean the sound from external speakers and headphones was very low and so can I think note 4 also does the same.
What does Rn4 [SD] mean because you're saying that Rn4 [SD] provides highest sound quality but I am going to buy redmi note 4 with snap Dragon processor. Does both the products are same.

Yes. "SD" stands for Snapdragon.
SD here, quality of the speaker is below average in my honest opinion in 2017, it is somewhat loud but quality is not good and forget bass. In headphones is the worst I remember using, there are some settings you can tweak to get a better sound quality but nothing major. If you want to get a phone for its audio capabilities don't get this one. Get a Htc or even a samsung...
For the first time I am hearing that redmi note 4 doesn't provide high quality sound. You have suggested that there are some tweaks and settings for obtaining high quality sound and so please suggest those settings or tweaks or atleast link which describes those.
I heard about sound mods like Dolby digital plus etc., which maximize sound quality and so please suggest about those. I also heard the term rockbox and so please suggest about it. Is it possible to install at a time two to three sound mods at a time.
Can you suggest best soundmods for redmi note 4.
I don't have used cheap devices before, this is my first cheap phone I buy New, my other phones were EX-flagship Used phones, I've had HTC, Sony, LG. And the quality of audio is way better on those phones. As of tweaks I'm talking about those build in inside on the settings of miui 8.
Install Viper audio and you're golden. My Note 4X has amazing sound via headphones with VIPER

One of the best budget phones out there. It's an overall 5/5 since it is the best choice money to value.
Really love this device. Great specs, great looking, and great price.
phone fell and the whole screen looked like the windshield of a car after a car crash but....touchscreen still worked! Good decision on Xiaomi on the design.
Bought replacement screen on aliexpress, had it repaired. If i couldn't repair it, was going to buy the SAME exact phone. Great xda community (8.1 already), big battery, great price.

Hello guys, happy new year
I wanted to ask if somebody switched from an S8+ to M10pro?
In my country i have the possibility to change phones every 6 months, by giving the used one back, and taking a new one.
The best what i can get is a note 8, which i dont want(allmost same as my s8+ and the mate 10 pro.
I had the mate 9 year ago, it was a beast, it only lacked the developement, that was a bit sad, but it was a great phone.
The battery life just was brilliant with some tweaks, as i got at least root to it.
What do you guys say about the upgrade?
Any noticable improvements in day to day performance ober s8+?:fingers-crossed:
Same as mate 9
Iam coming from mate 9 to mate 10 pro
And I got the amoled screen and new aspect ratio plus a better camera in all aspects in my opinion
From s8 you will get a lot better battery and more RAM and smoother phone coz sammys always lag a little bit
Also you will get portrait and bokeh effects in cam plus a lot better night shoots I think than any phone right now not just the s8.

Yes the screen is better compared to mate 9.
Performance wise, i think thatvthey are the same - s8+ and mate 10pro.
How about the mate dual speakers? Are they better than on mate 9?
Did you felt the performance difference?
Stay with S8+. Buy Mate 10 only if you want better battery.

In my opinion yes. Except if you want better battery. Mate's 10 battery is a beast. Finally keep in mind that you would be disappointed by audio quality and volume delivered to the headphones. But that is only my opinion. The best would be to test the phone by yourself if you can.

I purchased an S8+ through Samsung using their credit line with the sole purpose of reselling it and buying a Mate 10, not the Pro, just the regular. Worked out great as a friend gave me his Note 5 to trade in which knocked off $300 from the S8+.
Samsungs are just too bloated for me.
I'm in a dilemma I've got s8+ and just got Huawei mate 10 pro today I just don't know which one to keep any suggestions people without harsh comments please I can't decide

That's my problem I like things of both
Let me tell you my story (even though it may be a little bit late)
I owned the S8+ for more than 6 months but I finally sold it. Main reason was the awkward and not comfortable design and the battery. I have the Mate 10 Pro for 2-3 days and I really enjoy it.
Battery is near perfect, it feels faster than the S8+ and cameras are pretty much the same
However if you are an audiophile like me, you will be disappointed by the headphone performance through the USB-C adapter. It is very weak compared to the one on the S8
Also, the screen is not very bright but it is not a problem for me. I just wanted to let you know
If you have any other question, please let me know

Man was this bumpy ride.
So i've sold my mi8 a few weeks ago and tried few other phones:
First, i bought Samsung Note 9 - 430eur
- great phone, but a rubbish front camera, bad back camera portrait mode, no gcam support.
Then mate 20 pro - 450eur
- great camera but slow fingerprint reader, emui is a mess.
Then s10 - 510eur
- managed to endure just few days with this phone. Exynos version, horrible battery life, barely gor 3h of SOT.
Then oneplus 7 pro - 600eur
- I loved this phone, but man was it big and heavy.
So now i ordered my good trusty mi8 back. Great in hand feel, great camera with gcam, good battery life, and fasters fingerprint possible.
Is it perfect phone, no: big notch, no ultrawide camera, no ip rating or wifi charging.
But for 200eur it gives better user experiance then anny other phone.

I know what you mean. I owned Mi6 which was (and still is) a wonderful phone but I wanted to try something else. Changed a bunch of them but not one was a worthy replacement until I bought Poco f1, which was excellent, but touch problems were driving me nuts so I sold it.
Recently I bought Mi9t, but fingeprint and popup camera were so annoying I sold it and got a Mi8 which is a heck of a device, slim, light, fast and better phone to use than majority of new devices with their trendy but "pain in the ass" features (in -display fps, popup camera etc...)
Overview:
Samsung: currently One Ui is the best oem skin in my opinion, but they are too expensive, and their midrange phones are destroyed by competition in every aspect except for the screen quality. Have bad fps scanners and Exynos versions have lack of support.
Xiaomi: Best bang for buck, excellent fps, excellent support etc...only problem is battery drain on some Miui versions...
Huawei: Great hardware with the worst software...Emui is just ugly and outdated and really needs some refreshment. Also they are like android version of iOs, everything is locked, support is rubbish and you really need some knowledge to amuse yourself with some custom roms and tweaks.
Oneplus: Best of all in all regards, not so cheap anymore but they dont need to be, and they shouldn't be. Cameras not top notch but excellent support, superb displays, software etc... No matter what the price, the best.
LG: Good phones, but too expensive. V50 is maybe the best phone out there, but people are just not interested in them anymore, so the support will suffer also. Probably will follow HTC down the drain.
Nokia/Motorola/Sony: Not worth mentioning. Average at best, lack too many things....Was a fan of Sony for years, but after owning a few of them I was dissapointed. Motorola had some superb phones but they started to make same things like Nokia, midrange phones that nobody wants to buy, and I can't blame them.
Oppo/Vivo/Asus: They make some interesting phones, especially Realme who is destined to be the next xiaomi...looks promising but availability is still limited.
The only thing about which I'm not so excited is Miui 11....they messed up the system animations and make navigating the system slower than on Miui 10. I hoped it would make more sense to simplify things....but they didn't. If they don't change something I think this is my last Xiaomi device...

I completely agree! I have also owned many very expensive phones and the mi8 is by far my favorite. My son has a Samsung Note 9 and I will take my Mi8 anyday over his or his Wife's iPhone XS. No doubt, I love this phone and will stay with it for at least another year or two, and then I will buy another Xiaomi.
I have been a happy mi8 owner. Actually it's my first Xiaomi phone, and gosh, can't go back to others.
I have been tempted to upgrade to mi9 and 9T pro. However, after listening to comments from brothers/sisters here, i think i will keep my loyal mi8.

i absolutely know how you feel, i had this experiece as well with MI8, P20 pro, Mate 20 pro and even the Mi9
Now i've a p30 pro and my girlfriend is using the Mi8. The photos of the mi8 with gcam are stunning and in some situations it knocks out the p30 pro easily (i terms with HDR)
the only reason i prefer the p30 pro is in battery life and for the reason it has a ultra wide angle lens.
Otherwise i would switch to mi8 back again.
Yes. Mi 8 is a great device. Especially with Miui 11 and Xiaomi.EU and GCam. Got it few weeks ago, but just as a spare and flashing phone. My daily driver is a s9+ Exynos with oreo and GCam and I absolutely love it. Made some GCam comparison between these phones. Almost identical but a big advantage is that the mi 8s SD offers instant zero shutter lag pictures. That's not possible with my s9+. And yes of course my s9 Gcam also doesn't offer a night mode. But that's ok. A Mi 8 with Stereo Speaker and QI would be so freaking awesome.

Yeah, I don't understand why Xiaomi cant build a phone with stereo speakers. I don't really care about wireless charging but the addition of Dolby and an extra speaker would be amazing. It's the only thing that I am missing from my old Le Pro 3, it had the most amazing speaker sound quality.

Most people who care about sound quality will use wired or bluetooth headphones.
How good can a small speaker sound on a small phone? Not to mention there is so much ambient noise? It's quite pointless.

That is your opinion, it seems that you haven't heard quality speakers on a phone. You would be surprised with how good it can sound. But of course it doesn't compare to larger speakers, with a default flat frequency range.
"It's quite pointless" What is the point of your post? Yes, I have high quality Bluetooth speakers. In fact several different types large and small. You don't see the value that is fine, stick with buying whatever you want. my point was that many phone manufacturers release phones with dual speakers. Xiaomi, doesn't seem to have any recently released phones with stereo speakers
I want stereo speakers because I play musical instruments and I don't always have the a bluetooth speaker with me, many decent quality phones also have pretty decent omnidirectional microphones, which are great for recording scratch tracks with an acoustic guitar. FYI scratch tracks are basically riff ideas, that you save and later build a complete song with those ideas. Another fun thing to do, is once you have recorded 8 bars, you can then loop it and then solo or play arpeggiated phrasing over top of the loop It's definitely a lot of fun. Stereo speakers enhance it and can further provide the ability to hear manually made effects, if merging multitracks.

Hey guys, i'm on a situation here.
I have a Mi A3, bought 3 months ago, and now came the opportunity to get a used Pixel 2 XL for a very low price that my friend is selling.
Pixel 2 XL was a flagship phone, but nowadays, it worth to change my Mi A3 to a Pixel 2 XL?
What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance!
If it Is in good conditions then buy it,
I'd only be concerned whether the screen has noticeable burn in or discoloration. Compare it side by side with your a3. And how much battery life you get.
Otherwise you are getting much higher density display and faster processor. Probably better camera (ignore the mega pixel count, that doesn't mean much) and much better audio. You are losing SD card slot and 3.5mm, so you'll have to use a dongle.
Heck maybe I should look for a used one myself

Many thanks man! So you're telling that even two years older, pixel 2 xl is still way better than Mi A3.
The two things I like most in Mi A3 are camera and battery, and that's the only two things that I think Mi A3 could beat Pixel 2 XL. That's why I got on this "dilemma".
I'll try to do a test drive and use both for a week, if my friend let me.

Oh yeah the a3 will win on the battery life since it's really good there and pixel phones aren't known for great battery life and this one is two years old. And the a3 has a nicer form factor, smaller bevel, small notch. But otherwise flagship from Google even two years ago is going to have advantage over mid range from xiaomi.
I'll be curious to hear your experience, so please come back and share your experience with the two phones.
If it were easy to replace the pixel battery... But a lower spec new phone/battery is the way to go.
I had similar dilemma, whether to buy older Pixel 2/3 or Mi A3. Pixel 3a was in the play as well. After all I ruled out any phone without 3.5mm jack as I use wired headphones daily, often while charging the phone, so USB-C dongle is out of the question. BT dongle is not convenient for me either and I refuse to buy BT headphones just because phone manufacturers are "stupid" (and I already have many good headphones).
Pixel 3a has terrible battery, small storage and no SD card slot.
Also having the latest Android version immediately is not that good if the phone's rooted. I often had compatibility issues with root or apps which couldn't catch up with the changes (I'm pointing at you Sygic) on my old Nexus 5x.
Android One phones with 3.5mm jack and big storage and SD slot are the way to go for me. Big battery and good camera are nice bonus.
Just my 2 cents

What headphones do you use? I have a grado sr60 and the 3.5mm Jack output is really lackluster. Using viper4 Android to boost gain and Bass and surround helps a little but still not quite good.

Mostly IEMs (Etymotic research and many "chi-fi") and Marshall Monitor. Marshall needs corrective equalisation to get the best sound out of it, but that's true for any audio source and these headphones. For IEMs I use only small extra bass boost. Volume wise I rarely go above 75% and I find sound quality to be very good even when compared to dedicated desktop amps. Mi A3 for sure can't properly drive high impedance headphones (Beyerdynamic, AKG,..), but IMHO that's only good as the output would be most probably noisy with portable headphones (Mi A1 is a very good example). For portable headphones I don't find anything lacking.
It is not worth upgrading, the only 2 things you will feel as a upgrade will be speakers and display.
