Modified Spotify apk to get working on BMW iDrive System - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Community
Spotify canceled the support for the integration into the iDrive System of BMW (vers. 6 i guess)...
Reply from Spotify:
Thank you for all the reports you sent us. We’ve merged them all here and have an update to share with you on the matter.
We received confirmation that the BMW Connected Drive feature has been depreciated. As a result, it’ll no longer be possible to control Spotify via the onboard BMW system. You can however still enjoy your favorite music by connecting to your car’s audio system via Bluetooth.
We also have marked this Idea about bringing back the integration as open for voting. If this is something you would like to see make a return in the future, make sure to leave your vote there and subscribe to the idea. We’ll be monitoring it to pass the feedback on to the right team and keep you posted there, as soon as we have something to share.
To ensure we have one single place to gather feedback from, we'll be closing this thread for replies.
Until today there is still no integration... it lacks the support for Apps for Automotive (A4A)...is anybody able to modify the app to get it work? going back to the last working version is no option due to lack of security patches...
sry for my english and thanks for your reply

Google Music API?

Does anyone know if google is going to be allowing api access to their cloud music service? I love the idea of syncing my music between my desktop and phone via the cloud, but I'm not a huge fan of their music player. I wasn't able to go to google i/o this year, so I didn't get a whole lot of 'insider' info. Has anyone heard anything about this? My gut feeling is that they're going to make it a google-only type thing to make people want to use their music app, but my hope is that it'll end up as a system feature.
Currently, the music app syncs with the cloud. Ideally, I'd like android as a system(accounts and sync) to sync the music from the cloud to a folder or something so I can use my own or any other number of awesome music apps, most notably federico's ubermusic(zune style).
If I get time this week I'm going to dig through the new music player and see if I can pull out any code that would make use of a new api or something, but like I said, my gut is telling me that this is coded to their app only.
Thoughts, ideas, and info greatly appreciated!
Mods: I thought this would get better coverage here, but feel free to move it if you think it's miscategorized.
Do anyone have any info about this?
I doubt google are giving away hundreds of thousands of GB of storage so people can use their service as a handy way to sync their tunes.
I'm not a fan of the Google Music player either, but hopefully it'll be updated to something more user friendly. A google image slide show, while playing an artist or band would be cool.
would be nice to see music on my phone automatically sent to the cloud too though. Rather than just pulling down whats already up there.
This app will take all music that have been marked as "available offline" and make it available in any of your players. Bamf eh?

Did you find solution?
i'd like to see a way to work with google music, not for phones but for a windows media center plugin.

I'm currently working on an unofficial api: github.com/simon-weber/Unofficial-Google-Music-API
I really hope they release it. I've been waiting patiently. I just want it to work hand in hand with MIUI
Unofficial Google Music API
There is an "unofficial" google music api for python out... Just added MP3 upload capability, so hopefully we won't all be stuck using Google's horrible "music manager" to upload....
Check it out at github.com/simon-weber/Unofficial-Google-Music-API
This thread is probably long dead, but I just stumbled on it through a Google search for 'google music api'.
There are several news stories that went live 3 days ago, saying that there is an unofficial gMusic api which is nearing completion. This means that devs will soon be able to make 3rd party apps which can integrate gMusic libraries and functions. It's not an official release, so it might be buggy at times, but at least it's coming!

From the site:
The Unofficial Google Music Api
The api itself is hosted at GitHub: https://github.com/simon-weber/Unofficial-Google-Music-API.
gmusicapi enables interaction with Google Music. This includes both web-client and Music Manager features.
This api is not supported nor endorsed by Google, and could break at any time.
Respect Google in your use of the API. Use common sense: protocol compliance, reasonable load, etc.

[Q] iRig for Android delayed?

Hello Android users,
I imagine some of you are keen to do some high-quality audio recording with your Android devices, and are more than familiar that Android has (as far as I know at least) yet to defeat the latency issues that come with recording music. I am also aware that IK Multimedia have announced iRig for Android, a bit of software that should at least allow for the recording and editing of .wav quality audio from an external mic. I don't believe latency should really be an issue for simple speech recording. However, their official Twitter accounts, have been spewing out the same regurgitated PR material they originally posted around January 8th. "iRig coming to Android at the end of January" or words to that effect.
The end of January has been and gone, and still I am none the wiser. I read one Twitter user's post - I forget which user - stating there would be a delay, but there was no evidence or a further explanation on his part. After commenting on the problem on IK Multimedia's official FB page and after having my initial comment deleted, I finally got the explanation that it takes time for new apps to be processed for the Google Play Store. Whether there was any truth to this I don't know.
So I ask you, mighty fountain of developer knowledge. Does anyone know anything about why and how the iRig for Android app has yet to appear on the Google Play Store? I am itching to get my mits on it, and frustrated about IK Multimedia's lack of explanation, or signs of progress.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Stoobie.

[Q] Feedback, bugs and feature requests for AOSP...

Does anyone know of a way to send feedback to the AOSP (Android OS) developer community?
I have been a Windows developer for many years, and Microsoft provides "forums" in the form of "News Groups" that anyone can join, and these news groups provide a way for the general user community to mention bugs/issues that they have encountered, and also suggest features/enhancements.
I have not found any similar way to post things (bugs/issues, feature/enhancement requests, etc..) to the developer community for the Android OS. Anyone know if anything like this exists?
One such enhancement/feature request I have is:
- It would be great to be able to connect more than one Bluetooth headset to an Android device. (ie: Being able to watch a movie or listen to music with someone else on a tablet or phone, via wireless headsets.)

Itunes of the android world

Hey guys! I'm in the works of creating an application similar to the iTunes structure of syncing / managing devices but for android devices. The application I am working on, Andraudio, uses ADB for all data transport to allow syncing under all circumstances (Charge only mod, MTP, Photo Transpher, ETC), automatic device detection and will allow you to manage backups, storage and data on your device with relatively no effort. The application will be able to detect what codecs your device supports and convert media to supported codecs as well as free up space on your device by browsing for files that are not needed in temporary/cache directories. The real kicker with this application is that similar to iTunes it will be able to connect to (google only for now) device update servers and offer OTA updates and automate the process of upgrading/downgrading/restoring devices that are unbootable. If there is interest in an android suite of this type, let me know! If you want to help, all help will be taken! Currently I am working on the wrapper for the transport protocol, media management and a full backup system to allow you to safely restore data cross rom as long as the android version is the same.
I'd be interested in something like this for sure. As it is mtp on Windows does a crappy job and sometimes fails to copy files to or from the device. Right now I'm using an app that syncs folders over WiFi, but I'd love one that I can just plug in the USB cable and it'll backup all my music, pics, and other selected folders automatically.
Sounds interesting.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with .
This would be super cool, I've been using iTunes for years now and I really like it for the most part. Seeing something like this, but for Android/Pixel would be a real treat.
Thanks for sharing, I'd be interested as well!
Good luck.
Hey guys! Im glad there is interest in my project, to get things going quickly the software is being started in visual basic, a program language that makes it easy to release software quickly, after there is a stable build with a majority of features I will move the project to c++. My goal with this software is to keep in the spirit of android and maintain it open-source, and free of any non-open source binaries. All releases will be released with binary versions and a copy of the source so you can compile and tweak to your liking, just like with your favorite mobile OS. If anyone is interested in helping with the beginning stage development I chose a language easy for anyone to help with, and completely free to produce. Email me at 551280jjj @ gmail, or send me a pm here if you want to contribute to the development of the app. Even if you can't program I could use some help with designing assets, concepts for features, or just to put minds together to work on bugs. The software will be updated weekly, hopefully each new release will increase stability and add features. Initial release will have basic support for transport, conversion, and i'm working on integration for automatic ID3 tagging.
EDIT: I do not own a mac, but would love assisting someone in creating a port for OSX
I love this idea. I used an ipod for my music up until about 3 years ago simply just because I loved that I could manage my music library on my computer and then have it automatically sync everything when I plugged in the iPod.
I'm really looking forward to seeing this come to life! Also, I think id3 tag editing would be an awesome feature. As not having correct tags really bothers me.

Incoming - Campfire is actually legit

Hi all!
We just launched a new social media app on iOS and it's actually legit. Feedback welcome!
Since our official launch to the iOS app store, many of you have already joined us around the campfire to tell stories of your own. It’s been great seeing how creative the community is, and the general response is positive (4.8/5 avg. app store rating!). Even so, we’re still working hard to improve the platform and bring you the best experience possible.
Here’s what you can expect:
KEY UPDATES
Soundsuite:
SoundSuite lets you add a layer of audio behind your voice to make your captions even more engaging and immersive. Our idea was to help users create experiences within the caption, instead of limiting them to texts and emojis. This update expands Campfire’s core functionality in a way that truly captures the essence of Campfire, which is traditional storytelling meets modern technology. Everyone has that friend or family member that tells the best stories. They probably use descriptive language and animated gestures to convey the emotion behind the story. Our aim is to give you the option to emulate that energy by adding a layer of background audio that compliments the story being told. We’re really excited to see how creative you get with this new update.
Recording Limit Increase (20 to 30 seconds)
We heard the feedback from the community - Campfire users have a lot more to say. We want to give you ample time to get your point across, so we are increasing the recording limit to 30 seconds.
Adding Connections (Friends)
We know that sharing is caring, but sharing with friends is even better. With this update, you’ll be able to add people to your network and ensure that your stories appear on their feed.
In-App Search
This feature is pretty much essential to making your Campfire experience as seamless as possible. You’ll be able to locate whatever you’re looking for
In- App Photo Capture
You now have more options with photos you share on Campfire - upload from your camera roll, or, take the photo from within the app.
Stay tuned for more updates and feel free to try the app out and let me know what you think here!
Are you going to make a version for Android?
