[Q] IP Proxy, help needed....

I have struggled to connect to wifi entreprise since a month now. I have managed to connect to the wifi, only to find out that I need to use a proxy. Is there an easy way to access the proxy of my company using streak? As I understood we are using a pac url way.
I have tried several proxies (like transproxy, orbot, etc.) but not able to make it work. It's really annoying because my iphone fellow workers set their iphones easily, they are laughing at me.
Any proxy app using pac out there? Thanks in advance for any help.

Is there an app for android like connectify?

I need to do the same thing i do with connectify but in my phone, i connect to the web with my wifi and share internet with the same wifi adapter.
i been looking into it for a while and people keep on say that i need 2 widi adapter for it but is SO no true coz i have and use only 1... I don't wanna use bluetooth at all or connect it with usb.
If anybody knows of an app that does this magic please let me know.
Thanks.
Have you tried wifi tether?

Thanks for the reply.
I havent find a tethering app that let me share my wifi connection over the same wifi adapter.
I am not looking to share my data plan by the way, Connectify work as a wifi repeater, so you log in to a wifi and the software let you share that same connection any way you like even simultaneously over the same wifi adapter.
I'm sure you have good reasoning, but why don't you connect the other device directly to the same wifi your phone is connecting to? are you trying to use your phone as a range extender?
If that is all you are doing, seems to me to be a waste of a good device.
You could go to dd-wrt.com, find the list of supported routers, then buy a cheap router that is supported and then flash that firmware. Then set up as needed.
I have been using that for years, except in wireless bridge mode.

I know this thread is super old...
one reason i have is open routers that need a login after connection. I have yet to get a repeater to work with one of these networks but connectify works as you connect your computer say yes i accept and then start sharing it.

You mentioned that the WIFI Repeaters donot work with Open Networks. Are you talking about "Wireless Repeaters and Range Extenders"? such as this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SQvaGEKOxc
fqrouter2 is the solution
Use fqrouter2 for rooted Android devices and you have a perfectly working WiFi Repeater (available free in Google Play Store)

Hello npg500, I installed the app you suggested but i am not satisfoed with it.
fqrouter doesnot "externds the range" of the WIFI. it just routes the internet connection though the Android phone it runs on (possibly by the MITM), keeping the routed device on the same network as it was before. i installed fqrouter to increase the signal strength from my Basement wifi. but no success. it shows my PC in the Scan area. but as mentioned it doesn't extends the Range.
Anynody having any idea what App can serve that functionality? Or Am I doing something wrong somewhere?
Anyone can suggest how to work this wifi repeater or extender mode on S5?
fqrouter is saying wifi is not supported on S5 but it does have MITM
Hi guys i see you know sometging about this...basically my neighbours gave my wifi password i typed it on android and i taught to share the connection from phne to laptop..is that possible?

You can simply view the password from your phone and input it in your laptop. Or, except you are experimenting something.
Am I missing out something?

[Q] share android lan connection over wifi

Hi folks, I hope someone can offer some words of advice.
I would like to be able to share my ethernet internet connection on my android 2.2 tablet via wifi.
I know there are various app's on phones that allow you to share your 3g connection but I have not found anything that I can actually install that will create the same sort of functionality on my tablet, most of the ones I've seen on the play store are simple short cuts giving control over the pre-existing wifi hotspot app.
What I need is the wifi hotspot itself, ie the ability to use my tablet as a router/bridge.
So any thoughts people?
Bump
Really, no comments at all, nobody?
Someone must have thought of this before me, if not does anyone know where I can find an actual wifi hotspot app not just a set of controls for the pre-installed hotspot?
Thanks
Jon
If you're talking about what I think you are, I've yet to find a way to broadcast your ethernet connection with your Wi-Fi Hotspot like a router. If there's a way to do it I'd be interested, but somehow I don't think there's a way to do it!
Beginning to think your right Wolfy. To be honest not that surprised there is no ready made to ethernet to wifi app but I thought I'd be able to find a traditional wifi hotspot that I can install on my tablet just for the sake of having a go & seeing if it works.
Amazed that there haven't been any other responses! Where are the regulars?

[Q] Tether internet from Computer out through Phones Wifi

I have searched the forums and google for an answer to this but haven't been able to find anything.
What I'm trying to do is use my computers internet for my phone, and then broadcast it out. I've downloaded and used successfully the xda Android Reverse Tethering .exe and it's worked wonderfully. But the thing is I want to be able to use it in conjuction with a wifi tether app from my Samsung Galaxy S. My phone is rooted.
The purpose of this is to get internet connection on my PSP Vita. All of the internet in my house is wired, I don't own a wifi router nor do I want one. I live in a building where finding wifi passwords is easy for everyone as we all have the same general field of work, but no one near me has wifi.
What I've tried so far is using the xda Reverser Tether program with Barnacle Wifi Tether, Open Garden WiFi, and WiFi Tether. All apps I've downloaded from the marketplace. They work well at broadcasting my cell signal for use as Wifi, but none of them have been able to use the internet being sent from my phone.
In short what I'm looking for, or even if it exists, is a way to transfer my hard wired internet through my computer to my phone and subsequently the cellphones ability to act as a Wifi router.
Check my signature
Edit: *bump* I have removed it
check my threads
That looks close, but how could I use that, and then have my phone broadcast my internets computer through it's Wifi?
Hi ,
Use virtual router software in your pc and turn on pc and phones wifi.and connect to pcs wifi connection.if you have confusion try virtual router in google. i got succeeded in this but i dont have any link to give you.
If i helped press thanks.
This sounds like something that might do it. I have it downloaded but it's not doing anything. What were the steps you got to make it work for you?
Well, I was able to get it to work using redankaiahu's advice. The only thing is I had to go out and buy a usb-wifi adapter instead of using my phone like I would've liked. Oh well.
I know this really doesn't belong here, but did u know that if u get a router, u can actually change the frequency channel on it? Which means , no ones pc will pickup on the channel unless they adjust from their own pc's and know what channel u changed to.

Wi-Fi connection Problems Galaxy SIII...Help Please!!! :)

Hello
Im a proudly owner of a S3 and a GNexus and I have some problems regarding Wi-Fi, I know that this is not an S3 problem but its and android problem but perhaps someone can help me in here..
the thing is, I have two routers in my house, one is the master one for cable/internet company and the other is and range extender to expand the signal of the wireless lan....
every morning, when I wake up, if I go to the floor where is the first router both my S3 and Gnexus connect successfully to the wireless network and evevyrthing works fine....however if I go to the floor where the bridge/extender is located, both phones detects the wireless network, however can't connect to it, on wireless settings says...Obtaining ip address...and stays there for ages...and nothing...cant connect...for me to connect to the bridge, I have to restart the bridge and both phones connect immediately...
please any ideas??
thanks and best regards,
hugo

Is it password protected? If so try making it 'open' or change the encryption type.

Hi,
first thanks for the quick reply,
yes the network is password protected...I changed the encryption type for the WPA not the WPA2 and the problem still persists...
the thing that kills my brains is that, to connect to the bridge I must restart the the access point every morning,....
thanks

yes, I guess so....., should DHCP be enabled or disabled?
sorry but this situation is driving me crazy.....
I cant connect to the brigde/extender network right now with both my android phones and android tablet, however with my laptop running windows 8 I can......
wth??????
this is so frustrating!!!!!
Are you sure the second device extends the main access point and not just create a new WLAN?
Have you updated the firmware of both devices?
What devices do you have?
Am I understanding correctly that your laptop does work even though both Android devices don't (before you reboot the extender)?
Nope...its not creating another wireless lan... it extends the main plan correctly cause my laptop connects perfectly to the Wi-Fi from the extender even prior to the restart of the extender....
The devices are...main router from the ISP- Thomson
Range extender- tp link 701nd
Thanks

Both have latest firmware? Might be a bug in the WiFi driver of the AP/ROUTER... or it's in Android.... you will need to test by trial and error I guess...
Ok..
Do you guys know anything if I must have my IP static or dynamic?
Thanks

Dynamic would be the friendliest to work with... you could try if it's a DHCP issue by setting a fixed IP when the problem occurs, but I don't think it is.
This is not a problem with the phone(s)....is with the router config. Contact the manufacturer for further assistance...

If you got a router and a range extender, there's nothing you need to fiddle with because the range extender will just Relay DHCP requests between client and master router.
Two routers* pushing out IP addresses is a no go, there will be a conflict in your scenario, and all range extenders will of course take this into account.
If you had two "real" routers*, it would still be possible to set everything up, although then there's a lot to take into account.
* Router is a inaccurate term used for the consumer grade combination devices. They're in fact a router, a switch, and a wireless access point bundled in a neat package. Sometimes with a xDSL modem or something on the external interface of the router.
Try setting the IP to static and more important, try giving it a default gateway to the routers IP. That should make it easy for your phone to directly look for the gateway it is looking for.

I have three routers, one main, one extender, one repeater (creating a whole new network for other building). Both main and repeater are the same network. All is config as per DD-WRT documentation. All three have latest DD-WRT.
After trying many things, all I can say is the (or mine at least) S3 always has trouble when many APs are nearby. I don't use VOIP because of that (it could disconnect at any time).
Next step on my list is to have 3 different SSIDs (only two now) and try using tasker to debounce the wifi switching (if that is even possible).
