REDMI NOTE 9S COVUS OS - Redmi Note 9S / Note 9 Pro (Indian Model) Question

How do I find the exact kernel compatible with my phone?
I have tried flashing miatoll agni kernel 9.8 and 9.3 but it stucks on redmi logo.
There are Q, R0, R versions, which one is best for me?
I have corvus os 16.5 installed.

If you're using corvus, then the AOSP R version is for you since that it is for AOSP roms, if you use stock MIUI A11 then MIUI R is best, if you're on MIUI Android 10 then MIUI Q is best, if you're on a custom rom A10 then R0 is best.

Thank you so much for clarifying, that helped me alot.
I will try AOSP R since I have corvus

Sir I would want to clarify if I need to check unmount Vendor and system when flashing agni kernel?
And what does it differ from checking and not checking it.
Thanks.

It depends on the recovery you're using, I use Orange Fox recovery and don't need to uncheck or check anything, I am actually on Corvus os 16.6 Paradox and using agni kernel 9.8 AOSP R. So, it depends on the recovery you're using, but mostly you won't need to do that.

I am using Corvus os 16.6 Paradox as well and Kernel agni 9.8 AOSP R ( as you recommended ) but Orange Fox recovery gives me the option to check or uncheck unmount system and vendor before flashing anything.
By default it is checked, should I leave it that way?
Im really new to this, sorry for alot of questions, and appreciate your answers sir, its really helping alot.

I would love to ask and receive any recommendation as well for 68 fps gaming performance, I watched a youtube video that there is a dtbo file that needs to be flashed to make it happen.
Any recommendation sir?
Thanks in advance.

Don't wanna really disappoint you, but all of these videos are just fake or not even close to resembling the reality. Don't flash anything that they tell you to, I tried rooting and overclocking the CPU and GPU, flashing custom kernels, dtbo files, modules...etc, and nothing really gave me that high performance jump, it was only about 5% fps boost and that's it, it was not that big of a difference, so I would advise you to just stick with Corvus and Agni Kernel for now.

And for this, no need to do anything, leave it the way it is (checked), and flash the kernel and it would work like a charm giving you a good performance improvement in gaming. And no worries, ask as many questions as you want, I wished there was someone to help me with is stuff when I was a noob. Good luck, and if you run into any problems, let me know.

Need Suggestions

Hi friends,
First of all I would like to thank all the developers, testers and members of the forum. It is good to see that new roms, kernels are still being developed.
I just got a Note 3 few days back and I want to gain max from it in terms of balance/battery performance along with some customizations. Although I am familiar with the concept of rooting etc but in a simpler way. Like I have Nexus 7 2013 and there is a tool called Wugfresh NexusTool Kit. It does all things by itself and I just have to download roms or update the ToolKit.
I do not want to try many roms or kernels to find a right one for me. So consider this as a review suggestion for Rom+Kernel Combo. Now, What I need is :
1a. Volte must work,
1b. FP must work,
1c. Xposed Framework should work for greenify/adaway etc (preferred choice)
1d. Battery should not drain more than stock else no point flashing custom rom for me.
1e. Signal should be stable & wifi/hotspot work without problem as I use this device solely for WifiHotspot.
1f. Should be stable but I can adjust with less important bugs like Reading Light, Lite Mode setting etc. I dont need them.
1g. Feature rich.
1h. Rom should use least resources/ram etc and have no bloatwares.
So, kindly help me in finding a stable Rom+Kernel combo. My device is Kenzo(Snapdragon) with the latest stock MIUI 8.1.1.0 Rom and FP is FPC. Also, I do not have micro sd card so I can take back up of phone on the phone itself. I would also like to know about the process of successfully using f2fs format on Note 3. So friends, I am awaiting your kind suggestions.
Thank you.

If you want Xposed, you can't have Nougat, there's no Xposed for it. Radon kernel and the ROM I linked to is a good combination.
You can try RR Remix Rom + Radon kernel. Its a great combo with lots of feature, good battery life and stable for daily use. If you want Xposed than flash MM version of RR Remix Rom cause Nougat Rom does not support Xposed as of now.

Thanks, but which rom supports substratum and vulcan, if not RR Remix?
And which Recovery would be good, ZCX or Official TWRP 3.0.2.2?

Builds tend to differ from device to device. Every device has a different maintainer. A ROM which is heavenly stable in one device might be quite an issue in another. I suggest you to begin with ROMs with bigger communities (Like Lineage, AEX, RR etc) and Kernels with bigger communities (Like Franco etc) to get a brief but a first hand experience of different ROMs/Kernels.
after using many ROM finally I'm left with OS lineage with the stock kernel:good:

Quite understandable. LineageOS has a good mount of polish for a custom firmware
i would go for CrDroid without custom kernel cuz their stock kernel rocks. Battery is smooth as it gets and hey i can play pubg with 45-50 fps lol

Best custom rom for pubg on POCO F1?

I'm new here so can anyone suggest a custom ROM which can give a better gaming experience or is the stock rom best for gaming?
Xiaomi.eu if you want a stock based rom that is good. As for what's best for gaming I have no idea.

If someone could run gaming or performance tests on different roms and post the results, we could decide what we want and flash that rom

Seriously? You mean that others should do the work you won't do your self?
First of the phone is on second place in antutu board with both stock and custom based on stock.
If you compare the system with a rom that is based on let's say aosp /Ln I can straight of the bat say that the stock based will work better since kernel source code isn't fully released meaning stock is your best bet atm.

I've tested all the custom ROMs available for Poco including GSI ROMs both 8.1 and 9 as of now stock ROM provides the best performance in gaming as well as benchmarks. Ive tried pubg in most of the ROMs including the recent device specific RR,lineage, havoc, dot os,AEX but none gets close to stock probably because they all use lineage tree because of that you won't notice much difference. In short stock is gold.

Definitely that's the whole point of custom ROMs. To provide more features, performance and cusyomizations over stock. So yes but will take quite some time.
So any update on this thread?

Sorry for the ignorance, but which ROM would be the stock one? Is it in the ROMs and Kernels subforum? I can't find it.
About battery usage whilst gaming, is it different? Better, worse?

I did flash No gravity Kernel, and there is a gaming mode which will overclock the gpu and at the same time won't let the battery drain at the cost of little heat(Nobody notice that much). And u can flash the magnetar payload in magisk manager, and that's it, game is smoother than ever. Use the MIUI 11 only, it's the best.

Stock kernel varries in different custom rom. Although if u have downloaded any rom suitable with your need. Just open the zip file (rom) and u will see a boot.img (kernel) . Extract it nd flash it using twrp.

[CLOSED]sAr Kernel

Hey guys !Whats better than newbie dev with a the most troublesome device but best device of 2018 ?
Yee its poco lol.
I tried almost all popular custom roms+kernel combos !Each of them are equally great and i loved them all ,some of yall already have made a custom rom/kernel ur daily driver ! However i consider myself as an idiot who wants it all in one , the very forbidden term best rom+kernel.
Sadly i m not here to present u that 'best'.However i can assure u this will drastically improve the experience of any u on regardless.
This is a combination of an abandoned poco project's thermal(that was know for its performance)+updated stock kernel with negligible tweaks to affect compatibility of you device.:victory:

Stock Kernel infamous for slow charging------------------------------------------- FIXED
