Question Aptx HD connection problem in redmi note 10 - Redmi Note 10

Hi! I bought this BT receiver
( BDT 2,176.31 30%OFF | Xu21 Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter Receiver Supporting Dual-stream APTX HD BT Audio Music Wireless USB Adapter Safe and Reliable
https://a.aliexpress.com/_ms4Qydp )
I cannot connect to aptx hd on this BT receiver using my redmi note 10. It always connects to aptx. I tried to connect the receiver with redmi note 9s/pro. It was connected to aptx hd without any hassle. The problem is with redmi note 10. Anyone using aptx hd on redmi note 10 using any adapter? I tried to select aptx hd in the BT codec option under developer options. But I cannot connect to aptx hd, rather it connects to aptx. How to connect to aptx hd using redmi note 10?

Yes..
Same issue..
Tried couple of Custom ROMs for that option.
One of the guy said It's working in EvolX ROM, but after flashing and using the ROM for a week I found no codec.
I was able to use aptX codec after flashing the module...
Conclusion:
I think the device has default support for SBC codec only.

Thank you for the reply. Did you try ldac codec? Please let me know if you find any suitable rom that supports aptx hd.

I am in the same boat. Recently got a FiiO BTR5, which supports almost all codecs under the sun. But the phone only does SBC, AAC and AptX. No way to get either AptX HD or LDAC to get to work. I used my old phone (G7 thinQ) and both LDAC and AptX-HD work flawlessly, so the issue is definitely with the Redmi Note 10.
It's a shame since LDAC/AptX-HD sound a lot better with my audio setup. Although AptX does come close too. Hope they fix it in an update.

Its a shame that xiaomi claims note 10 to have high resolution audio. The dual speakers sound crispy though, but why wouldn't it support aptx hd! If you get a solution let me know. Thanks.

Hi!
Do you feel any notable difference between aptx and aptx hd?

Same problem here. Bought Philips Fidelio L3 headphones which support AptX HD. Once the developers mode is enabled, I can see AptX HD in the list of possible codecs, but I can't force the phone to use it. AptX works.
My son's phone automatically uses AptX HD to connect to these headphones, so the problem is definitely in Redmi Note 10. I do hope that it#s a software problem and that this problem will be fixed with some future firmware update ... Does Xiaomi have some support I could ask about this (where?)? Has anyone managed to make AptX HD work with this phone in the meantime?

U can try with this magisk module https://github[.]com/multiwirth/aptx-HD-magisk

Hi, try that :
[Module] aptx (HD) for Android 12/11/10/9/8 LineageOS 18.1/19.0
Hi there, This is a magisk module compatible with any android device (except x86) running at least android oreo up to latest and greatest Android 11! It was tested on lineage based roms but should work on all AOSP and some stock roms just fine...
forum.xda-developers.com
It worcked for me on linageos 18.1 gsi but there isn't any aptx adaptive. I'm gona try to edit the vendor partition soon.

LDAC Bluetooth audio?

I thought I read somewhere that the M5 supports LDAC Bluetooth audio. I don't see it in the developer options Bluetooth codecs. And it doesn't work with my Sony AVR that supports LDAC. Any ideas?
I doubt it has the LDAC support. WH-1000XM2 headphones which are LDAC compatible can connect to M5 with aptX HD at best.
This site claims it has it, https://www.bluetoothcheck.com/d/huawei-mediapad-m5-8
Also ldac is baked into Oreo aosp, manufacturers only have to add it to their variants of oreo. So far, however, it seems the M5 doesn't have it.
I think they made a simple assumption that every oreo build has it implemented.

USB audio drivers and DAC compability.

Hi everyone.
Have you had a chance to try it with external USB DAC like dragonfly red? Is full volume available? How are the USB audio drivers implemented? Most phones have some problems with it and I do not want another phone with external DAC working only with one app- USB audio player pro or not working at all.
I'm using Fiio Q1 MK II. Audio works on some roms - MIUI, PE, Syberia. Other roms I tried doesn't work - LOS, NitrogenOS. I have no idea why... Trying to find the solution myself.

Have you found a solution?
I own the same DAC and LineageOS does not recognise it. I have other DAC (an hifime sabre 9018) and it works... I wonder if there's just a kernel change

I went back to MIUI 10.2.2. My fiio q1 mk2 works perfectly on the stock rom. Gonna stick to MIUI for some time before trying custom ROMs again.
I have observed that ROMs released before December 2018 work fine with my fiio q1 mk2. I tested late November releases of PE and LOS and they both work. Late December builds do not work. I'm thinking it's something to do with the source developers are using. I'm not sure if future ROMs will start supporting my DAC. Fingers crossed.
---------- Post added at 06:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:55 PM ----------
I also tried different kernels (stock, Franco, Sphinx) with PE and LOS. Didn't help...
I have a feeling it's something to do the how the ROM handles USB audio. It feels like the OS is continuously looping when I plug in the fiio. Others have reported that other DAC brands work while my fiio q1 mk2 doesn't. Maybe driver fiio uses is not in the newer ROM builds. I wonder why support was lost....
Please let me know if you find a solution

Thanks for the reply!
I will pass this information to one of the developers on my ROM and see if he knows more about it. I keep you posted!

Which cable are you use to connect fiio Q1 MK 2 with pocophone?
Is it include in package or you buy it separately?
Thanks in advance

I bought the fiio usb c to micro USB otg cable. The fiio q1 mk2 only comes with a lightening to micro USB.
I have Sonata HD II DAC cable which works in all ROMs I tried including LOS, NOS, CrDroid, Reloaded, and AOSiP (all tried in their stock kernels and then Sphinx).
I use both Poweramp and Hiby without problems and sound as good as they should be. I even tried UAAP trial version which recognizes my hardware also (though I'm currently sticking with LOS with Franco).
To anyone with issues, have you tried updating to their respective lastest firmware if there's any?
Hi All!
Just for information regarding Poco and external DAC (DragonFlye Red).
USB Audio Player Pro:
Pocophone F1 is marked as "NOT WORKING ANDROID DEVICES", because of "Massive USB errors"
It works perfectly (at least playing local files up to 192/24) after setting in "USB Tweaks"->"Bus speed"->"Full speed (USB 1.1)".
If left in "Auto" or "High Speed (USB 2.0)" it doesn't work at all.
Also it works "USB Audio"->"Bit perfect mode" up to 96/24. (But it's a limitation of the DAC)
Neutron Player: everything works after setting "Audio Hardware"->"Direct USB Access". But USB Audio Player sounds better.
Currently using the F1 stacked with topping nx4dsd it can decode even 768k pcm and dsd512 no problem.
Can it play Hi res files with it's internal DAC?
I do not have access to an external DAC. Can F1 play Hi Res Audio Files(24/192) with the internal DAC with Hi Res Supporting Headphone on USB Audio Player Pro? If yes, then how? Please Help!
Centrance slim works fine with MiUI, can't say about rest.

Using Sonata HD with the same app and it works flawlessly in Hi-Res
Internal (built-in) DAC of Poco F1

Good question and wrong answer. Question is about the internal DAC of Poco F1, not the Sonata HD ..

I see, thanks for heads up.
For the said question, some players like Poweramp, USB Audio Player Pro, and Neutron are able to play Hi-Res through internal DAC though doesn't good as much as phones with dedicated DAC.

Does US Wifi MediaPad 8.4 have LDAC and GPS?

My Chinese LTE does not have LDAC.
Nor can I install SmartThings app. Can US wifi version install it?
No LDAC on USA version, I'm not sure why huewei doesn't have it. Ldac is supposed be part of Oreo AOSP.
Thanks. I have a M5 Mediapad Lite on order. Ill report in when I receive it from Europe.
MediaPad M5 Lite no LDAC either
After the last update on my M5 8.4, APT X HD also seems to be gone...
You're correct. Aptx HD is no longer available! What gives?!
I'm going to send it back. On the box is a label saying Hi-Res audio... Total bull****.
Are you sure Aptx HD was available before? It was never present, nor LDAC, on original 10.5 back in July. I even rooted the tablet and applied the Android O Aptx / LDAC libraries via Magisk, but still they don't show up as options in dev options. Frustrating since I have Aptx HD headphones.
I used to have APT X HD. It was present in developer options and in my Sony Headphones app when it was connected. After the update only APT X was shown.
I presume it has something to do with the WiFi bandwidth problems some users have in combination with Bluetooth.
Good point, maybe that's why they removed it. I frequently get unable lag with just Aptx when watching videos, even when not streaming.

Bluetooth aptx

Is S9+ aptx capable or not?
I bought a Marshall Monitor Headphones aptx capable and I thought S9+ was ready for it and for my big surprise it is not, apparently.
Can someone help me with this issue? I really need to know if S9+ is or not ready for aptx Bluetooth headphones. Maybe I'm missing something. ?

Yes it is. No AptX HD tough
Thanks. Just found out I was scammed with my aptx headphones. They are a fake.

lack of apt-x hd got you down?

so far i'm really liking this phone. however, there are a couple things i wish were a little different:
1) i wish it had a dedicated, not-behind-the-screen fingerprint sensor (one thing my old LG did right).
2) i wish it supported apt-x hd for use with my (non-sony) wireless headphones.
so, i went looking for a solution to #2. for now, it appears that samsung just doesn't support apt-x hd-- and future official support is looking somewhere between doubtful and hopeless. additionally, i have a us version; my bootloader is locked and there does not appear to be a feasible software solution to the problem without root.
however, i stumbled onto this: creative bt-w3. i ordered it today and most likely won't have my hands on it for another week, buti wanted to make this post to:
--let people know about this possible solution to a vexing problem
--solicit any feedback or reviews, in case someone has already received one.
thanks for reading.
Vexing? This is vexing?
I just use LDAC, it's better than APT-X HD...
The Note9 when came out with Oreo, it had AptXHD then it was removed with Android Pie.
Now, after complaining, they out back AptX yet no HD support or HiRes audio support.
Seems Samsung is all about gimmicks but not audio.
The Dolby Atmos is crap if someone wants to defend them, try the Dolby Atmos on a Xbox One, then try the Samsung version and it's just an equalizer setting.
I'm currently saving for the Xperia phone, I'm done with Samsung.
Hey zagtastic, did you get this creative device working on your phone? I'm curious if it did in fact work for you. I'm looking into getting an S20 5G and was surprised by the lack of aptx-hd support on the specs.

If memory serves me correctly it's not; AptX-HD has better overall audio qualities. LDAC is the next best.
Even rooting won't give you AptX-HD; all these latter generation Samsung's lack the hardware support for this codec.
Sammy boned us proper...
Bump, so does this thing work on a Samsung?
My Soundpeats TrueAir 2 buds sound bloody awesome with Dolby on but also running Poweramp. If anything they sound better than they were on my Mi10T Pro that has Apt-x built in.

No. whats vexing is buying the Note 20 Ultra 5G "unlocked" from Best Buy at $1300 only to realize it is still impossible to unlock the bootloader despite "right to repair". I will never buy another Galaxy or any other overpriced, overgoverned Samdung product. I should have bought another OnePlus. The lack of Apt-X is irritating but not a problem Id call "vexing" when there are so many other complaints that dwarf it.
Any Bluetooth codec will never be as good as a wired set of headphones anyway, UAPP or Poweramp output to 1 More or Similar in ears will sound a lot better, (inexpensively)

SSC is a better choice for Samsung Buds, etc. then APTX. Sample it...

LDAC streams at a max of 990kbps, translating to a sample rate of 96kHz and a bit depth of 24 bits while APTXhd stops at 48 kHz.
So LDAC is the top one followed by APTXhd

If you bt device doesn't support LDAC but its a Samsung bt that supports SCC that's probably the next best choice.
APTX HD is off the table useless it's hardware supported to begin with. Samsung does not support it.
