Cracked screen and touchscreen issues - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Questions & Answer

Hi all,
I recently dropped my tablet and all was working but I thought it was a good idea to try and find a solution to try and make it better.
I bought a DIY windscreen crack repair kit and attempted to fix it and now it's become a problem with the display becoming unusable.
It is not responding to most of my touches and also jumps in and out apps without actually doing anything.
The pen works 100 percent as if nothing is wrong.
I also used a bit of tape to try and see if maybe it would be a solution to apply pressure on the sides and where it is damaged but no luck.
Anyone who can help me out would be greatly appreciated.

TyTN bundle case...

Hi all and sorry if this argument eventually has been already discuss!
I have already tried some cases for my TyTN, but the bundle case is perfect for my needs! But on many forums I readed many opinions... some users regret that It is the really problem for the screen alignment issue...
I dont know what to do... can I use it without worry... or it's better that I dont use it???
is there anyone that use it with satisfaction?
Thanks!
Stefano
I have had occasion to have the magnet in the case rotate my screen, but that did not misalign the screen in any way. If you are buying a new case don't let this be your only reason. As far as I can tell this does no harm to the phone or screen.
Thank you very much for your reply! I've heard about occasionally screen rotation, but this fact isnt a problem for me.
Until now, I never had the screen alignment issue (and I hope neither in the next future!!!)... On many forums I have readed a lot of theory on this problem, and I would like to be safe that the bundle case doesnt create further issue.
Thank you for your experience!
Stefano
Hi, I only used the bundle case for about 10 minutes total, and have had no alignment issues with my serial 630 unit, been using it tons for about a month now.
I really didn't like how strong those magnets were and it constantly bothered me, not tryin to say that the magnets are bad, or tell you to get a different case...but if it can effect rotation, and I haven't had an alignment issue.....it kinda makes me wonder if it is causing some problems for people, I really can't say for sure, just thought I would share my info.
Thank you for your reply.
I understand your point of view!
The magnets are surely many strenght... indeed the screen rotation of TyTN is commanded from a magnet... so the magnets of the bundle case are so strength to create a false output...
However I have heard from HTC throughts email... and they are told me that the problem is hardware... so I think that the problem has been the magnet case... they have already advise us... (I dont think that they really wont to change or repair a lot of device if it is possible to have a simply solution: dont using the case!).
What do you think about this? Is there other experience with the boundle case? Any idea?
I'm also sorry to cant use a good case that I have already pay eheheheh
Thanks!
Stefano
I have screen alignemnt issue, and I have NEVER used the magnet case, so I can say the issue is not related to the case.
The hardware they referred to is internal TyTN hardware and not case related would be my guess. Those persons with the screen alignment problem that are outside of the return period are getting the devices fixed without having the case replaced.
Cool...I was hoping some people would say they had alignnent issues and hadn't used the case, I really couldn't say for sure.
I did end up having to cut the top bar out of my aluminum case, cause it caused the screen to flicker at times, and that combined with the screen rotating just made me wonder what all issues could happen with certain cases.
Its a good thing that the case can be ruled out of the cause for alignment issues.
Thank you pof and thanks to all... It's a good thing to know that the issue was occurring also without utilization the bundle case (sorry pof, I wouldnt like to say that I'm glad for your SA problem, conversely I'm sorry for your issue and I hope that you can solve... so like all people have this device with the SA!).
Also, if HTC dont replace the bundle case when a device presents the SA problem is another information that could rule out doubts related the case...
What do you think?

Screen Rotation causes missed calls
I have been having an ongoing problem with answering incoming calls... It seems that whenever I remove the phone from the case, the screen is rotated. As the screen is rotating back, the TyTN seems to drop the call.. too much CPU in rotating the screen? Anyway, I never thought it was the magnet in the OEM case (which is a great case, otherwise). I will try another case to see if the call answering problem goes away. Thanks!
I dont know if your issue with the incoming call is related with the screen rotation, but I can tell that the screen rotation seems has been only when yhou put the TyTN power-on in the case... or if you touch the power button when you eztracting the device from the case. I dont think that the device stay with the screen rotate when the power i s off. But I cant really sure... only I suppose...
Ciao

Is there anyone that he would like to tell us the own experience with TyTN, the bundle case and the possibile appears of SA issue... for understand the possibile correspondence with bundle case and the alignment problems?
Thanks

One quick fix for this problem :-
Sharp blade on the four edges of the case removes four very powerfull magnets and two washers ?
Re glue corners with superglue and attach small piece of velcro to keep flap closed.
Worked for me and no screen rotating issues with this case
I bought an IDS case from Hong Kong ($ 25) and I am not impressed with the quality. Good ideas but badly executed. So now I am back to the HTC magnetic job. I don't have any SA problems but I do notice that the magnetic force causes screen rotation. I have also experienced call dropping on removing the TyTN from the OE case.
But I am sure HTC are aware of the magnetic influence and find it quite acceptable.

Mistakingly answering calls
Strangly, the strong magnet in the bundled case causes the phone to answer calls during sliding it out.
This is somehow a reason for why I am searching now for a Bluetooth headset that has a caller ID mini LCD.

My wiza200 touch screen intermitten

Hi all,
Has anyone experience with a problem when the touch screen intermittently works, especially when you press/hold hard on the sides of the face of the phone. Without pressing down on the side, the top menu (start... x) most of the time are either unresponsive or respond as if you press elsewhere on the screen.
I'm thinking of open up the phone later tonight to troubleshoot, guessing the screen digitizer is loose or, HOPEFULLY NOT, cold solder somewhere. But if you'd heard or faced this problem before or even have an idea on what has caused the problem, I'd like to hear from you. Please help!
Thanks!
Adding info
Oh yeah, did I forget to say that not just the top of the screen, the middle part as worst. The only part of the screen is still responsive is the bottom. If I press down or punctual around the face of the phone tightly enought(?), I'd be able to have the good touch screen for a little while (5... 10 minutes) before it gone weird again.
Fixed... for now
Well, I jammed a couple of thin plastic to the bottom of the screen within the housing facelet behind the t-mobile logo... and it works... for now.
I still intend to disassemble the dawn thing as soon as I realize such quick fix has become unpractical or no longer work.
I will check back to this post again, so if you are interested, don't hesitate to reply, I'll try anything when desperate.
How long have you had the phone?
How do you carry it around?
If you got the phone recently and started carrying it around by putting it in your pants pocket, then you find the screen sometimes doesn't work well, those facts are related. A couple of years ago people used to always complain about this, and some recommended rubbing your finger firmly around all edges of the screen for a temporary fix. Others recommended forcing a business card under the metal at the edges of the screen. I got a leather belt case for mine, and the problem went away.
If you've had the phone for years and it just now started acting up, the problem might be related to a cable, connection, or something. There is a wizard service manual online. I've used its instructions to replace a screen, with no bad issues.
Good luck with your phone. The wizard is a bit old, but still pretty nice.

[Q] NEWBIE HERE! Really F'd my HD2 up!!! HELP!!!

So, about 2 weeks ago, I got my HD2 off of Craigslist with a cracked screen. It worked perfectly fine with the exception of the hardly noticeable cracks. I knew I could get the replacement digitizer/screen for $40-80. I got my screen in the mail yesterday and, following the "YouTube" video tutorial found on this site, I......ugh.... replaced the screen....................I SCREWED UP BIG TIME!
First, I broke the ribbon cable for the Side "Volume Up/Down" buttons. Then, I broke the ribbon cable for the "soft keys." Ah, crap, but oh well. I figured I could use the touch screen for pretty much everything i needed to do. Well, while prying the cracked digitizer screen from the LCD, I went a bit too deep & peeled the tinted film off of the LCD. I thought nothing of it at the time. I'd already done enough damage. So the display would be a bit brighter than normal oh well.......WRONG! I put the phone back together and once I get it to power up, all I get is a white screen. I thought I missed something. So I disassemble & check 3 more times. Still a white screen.
Well, after all of this, the new digitizer/screen doesn't want to stay in place very well. So, being pissed off and curious, I pull it out and away and notice in the backside reflection of the digitizer that I can slightly make out the phone display. So, apparently the "Tinted Film" that I accidentally peeled off of the LCD makes images visible on the phone screen. I kind of damaged this film when peeling it off. Therefore, I am unable to put it back on. Does anyone know of a simple fix without replacing the LCD?
SORRY FOR THE "SHORT STORY LONG."
I was brainstorming and thought that maybe the film was polarized. So, I grabbed my sunglasses, which are polarized, and wearing them, I can faintly see the display. Anyone think maybe polarized window tint might fix my problem?
Hey man I have some electronic devices that need repair, can I send them to you to fix them?
SURE!
You can pay me in HD2 parts.
Sir i can only say 1 thing. search ebay and replace everything you damaged. only that way you will get your hd2 in perfect state.

I'd go one step further and say bin it and get a new one!
You sound just like me. That is why I never try things like that anymore. Hope it gets sorted but might be better looking for a used one.
I've got it functioning...
I found the film that I ripped off, put it over the screen and........I CAN SEE! However, the top half has lines through it. So, I must've damaged the LCD. The good news is that my phone is useable again. I just have to do everything via the touch screen and can't let the screen hibernate unless I have my charger close by. I'm just gonna keep my eye out for a cheap busted phone and eventually have a 100% phone again...
I sympathize with you. I broke HD2 while I was trying to check for loose WiFi card cable(cuz i was getting weak WiFi signals). The cable turned out to be fine but the external speaker stopped working. I opened it up again and adjusted some parts and it just got worse. the HD2 didn't power on at all. I tried fixing it but to no avail. I ended up sending the HD2 to a repair shop and was charged $170 for the repair. the repair guy said i messed up the power IC and the connector for the external speaker and he had to replace the power IC and resolder the connector.
I think I'm gonna stop trying to open up expensive phones. i was stupid thinking that since I have successfully replaced digitizer for my previous Palm T3, E2 and T5, opening up HD2 wouldn't be a problem. Should have known HD2 components are really fragile...

Thanks in advance
I have the same problem ? it seems that part of digitizer is dead. My case it was only the middle part of the screen. I think the water creep in the case when I use the phone immediately while my hand is wet. If there is any solution (beside changing the touch screen) it would be much appreciated

[Q] thin vertical piece on the mainboard that leads to USB connection cracked

Hello to anyone reading this,
This crack in the board happened after it went through the clothes washer, and it was gf's phone so i feel really horrible about it .
Anyways i have yet to even find out what this piece of the board is named. It's cracked in two places on the vertical part of the board that leads down
to where the usb connector is located (everything else appears looks ok just these two cracked pieces). I'm just looking for any help at all, hoping
someone might be able to offer any help at all, or if it's even possible to salvage. I have an uncle that is got a good amount of experience in
soldering/electrical stuff and can handle the soldering/fixing since im still a bit of a noob, but he was unsure about how to go about it since it would
require some very small wires to fix the connection traces, so if anyone can offer any advice or instruction on mending i would greatly appreciate and
can send some BTC for your help. I attached 2 images, and can supply more if you need more detail.
So far the only thing i can think of is to get a broken board and remove the part i need at the easiest location it could be re-attached... no clue if that easier area exists though..
