I have XT2093-4 (aka carrier unlocked phone or "guamna_retail") and XT2093-7 (AT&T prepaid or "guamna_a").
XT2093-4 is "stock" Android while AT&T XT2093-7 loads up bloatware.
I tried flashing super.img_sparsechunk.X from XT-2093-4 onto XT2093-7 and ended up in a bootloop. Is there a way to modify vbmeta??? (and dtbo???) images so that XT2093-7 would take super from XT2093-4 "guamna_retail" ?
Is there any other ways to get rid off AT&T bloatware?
P.S. Bootloader cannot be unlocked on XT2093-7 if it makes any difference.
It's typically expected for ATT and Verizon phones to be permanently boot locked.
I'm not really sure there is any other way to flash without unlocked boot loader.

I have just bought an Atrix. It’s is not associated with nay carrier at all.
Will I be able to unlock the Boot loader?
If I’m not able to unlock the boot loader as it is can I make the phone think it is an AT&T phone so I can then get there gingerbread update and unlock the boot loader?
I’m a bit of a n00b at this so thanks in advance.
What software version are you at? 1.8.3? 2.1.1? What country did you purchase it from?

Can you flash an ATT sbf? Unless it's an ATT phone or some sort of exception like a dev phone, you more than likely will just get a security exception when you try to flash it. If you can, then you can have the ATT signed version of the bootloader, from there you can unlock it. The unlock sbf will just give you a security exception otherwise, it only works with the ATT signed bootloader.
Cheers!
I have tried so much I am runnning 5.1.1 I really just want my cool mods. If not I am bring this phone back to att.
The Verizon, Cricket, and AT&T models are bootloader locked and are not eligible for the Moto Bootloader Unlock program. On these models, you might be able to get root via kingroot, but most of the time it disappears after a reboot and /system remains read-only.
The factory-unlocked model sold by Moto directly and via Amazon ($100) is fully GSM unlocked, has all of AT&T's bands, and can be officially bootloader unlocked and fully rooted, so you can install TWRP recovery and flash away.
Hey y'all I just picked up an att go phone moto e without researching it too much and I already bricked it trying sunshine. To unbrick it, I just flashed the att system image with fastboot and it made me wonder whether I can flash any motorola firmware, use kingroot, and then try sunshine again. Does anyone know if this can brick the phone permanently or is it probably safe to try it?
EDIT: tried it didn't work lol
You would have to try it and see. The XT1527 is used in Canada, and its not bootloader locked and comes with no bloat at all (at last when setting it up with no SIM inside it). I would imagine you would have to flash everything, and not just the system image, for it to work. That is if they use the same signing key for both.
The AT&T/Cricket-branded XT1527 (as well as the Verizon XT1528) have locked bootloaders and cannot be unlocked, so you cannot flash non-carrier firmware on the device. All other models can be unlocked via Moto's bootloader unlock program.
AT&T Stock (android 4.4.2), s-on, rooted, sim newly unlocked. Reflash CM13 backup?
Long of the short. S-on, rooted, been running on CM13 for a while now. Work owns my phone. Convinced them to get AT&T to sim unlock so I can use the phone internationally on vacation.
AT&T sends code, won't unlock while running CM13. Flash back to stock AT&T rom Android 4.4.2. Enter SIM unlock, all is good.
Want to revert back to my CM13 nandroid backup. Any reason to believe this would undo my SIM unlock?
SIM unlock will survive changing ROM. There really isn't anything that can make it SIM locked again, aside from locking it yourself, as some say (but I don't even know how you would do that).
I've been trying to go through this forum to see if you have already answered this question but could not find any reference to it.
I received a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 as a gift and even though it is supposedly unlocked I have difficulty using my local sims in it. For starters every time I insert a non Verizon sim I get a notification reminding me that it isn't a Verizon sim that I cannot dismiss. Also, I would like to remove and not disable the preloaded apps that came with the device and completely remove/change the Verizon startup logo. I has some prior experience with rooting older android phones (up to Android 6) but am a little worried about making any modifications to this tablet. I know there are step by step instructions on installing TWRP on the SM-T860 and T865 but can anyone be so kind as to walk me through just rooting my SM-T867V and removing the bloatware/boot logo and fixing the non Verizon sim thing so that my device can use the LTE capabilities?
VZW is known for locking the bootloaders of their devices so in short no TWRP or root. As for removing some of the bloat it can be done through ADB commands without root.
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. Any links to the guide regarding the adb removal? And if I were to get the bootloader unlocked, what would be my next steps?
Here's a tutorial.

As for the bootloader I meant locked as in cannot be unlocked. No TWRP, No Root, No Custom Binaries Period. The only models of the Tab S6 that allow bootloader unlocks to my knowledge are the T860 or T865
Thanks again
I guess I have to annoy Verizon and have them unlock the bootloader. I really want to get rid off the branding and the non verizon sim message.

They definitely won't be unlocking the bootloader. However the SIM lock should be handled if the prerequisites are met.
