CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.1 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

Read the thread, baseband requirement part
Now G620S-L01 users can enjoy the nightly builds.
Follow the instruction, flash a suitable baseband, you won't get the dialer issue
I dont know why some issues are not mention in official CM bug report:
1. Audio totaly destroyed/not usable if ringtone volume is higher (AudioFX does nothing to speaker, not tested with headsets);
2. Compass not working - HERE IS how One Plus developer called Sultanxda, resolve the issue few weeks ago.. May be would help for our device too;
3. When forward youtube videos there is another issue - video stopped and needs to be reload;
Seems like everything else work as is...
PS: Does the modem needs to be one time installed to receive OTA updates, or every time when G620S-L01 receive update, the modem needs to be flashed again?

The modem require only one installation, should be enough ( this will solve issue regarding Dialer, from some devices ) !
CM OTA flash only /system , /boot ( /recovery if you want ) partitions - so, modem partition will not be modified when you install a new update .
I just made a backup from my stock modem partition, just in case cannot receive officially Huawei OTA update .
Best regards !

Thank u so much for the Official CM, got a working and almost stable rom after a long wait, some issues found are
1.poor recieving of wifi signal, need to be closer to router to get proper signal
2.loudspeaker volume is very less usually when activate loudspeaker during a call and while playing recorded voice, whatsapp voices etc but playing music and videos are fine
3.Mobile data is not very stable, some time its not connecting even if its on
4.Camera clarity is low compared to stock camera, yellow colour appears all over the image while click using flash
One question> when new update comes in about phone> cyanogen update it download all 255mb file, is it possible to get only update file as ota?

I DO NOT OWN THE ROM.
The developer of this rom is kumajaya on MIUI forum and thanks to him for his work.
MISSION:
Embarrass Xiaomi because refuse to release Redmi 2 kernel source
BUG:
Before you install this ROM, check your device magnetic sensor. Currently YAS537 not supported!
Still under development, built from sources, no hidden sources, not a binary dirty hack ROM
The following will not be supported in this thread:
- Custom Kernels
- Mods, including CPU management mod or any strawberry mod
- Modified system files
- Xposed
If you reuse even a part of my work here, a proper credit is a must, keep it open source also a must

For better Google experience, install TK GApps Nano: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347
Don't create any mirror without a permission!
Cyanogen recovery above just like a standard AOSP recovery without a lot of features compared to TWRP, but you can temporary boot it using "fastboot boot cyanogen-recovery-wt88047.img" command to check if CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM possibly working on your device variant.
Don't even try this ROM on Redmi 2A variant!

Current status:
Boot to Android, this is my first ROM that really boot on the first try
Touchscreen works, all hardware button mapped correctly
No screen flicker, fluid graphics
Voice call and SMS works, data over WiFi and GSM works (radio config in build.prop fix previous GSM issue)
Vibration and screen rotation works
All sensors seem works including GPS and compass but light sensor still need a fine tuning
Both camera working, the author found a super clean solution
No boot animation (fixed, kernel issue) Disable splash screen break Android boot animation but if I enable it, Cyanogen recovery covered by Tux the penguin logo in the center. The workaround solution, move Tux to the top right of the screen
No sound (fixed, kernel and user space issue) This also fix slow boot because of logcat flooding. BUG: Speaker output ignore headset jack insertion, sound out from both speaker and headset
Bluetooth file transfer fail (~42MB zip, failed at 17%) WiFi file transfer way faster
FM radio works
WiFi hotspot works
YouTube and local video 720p works
LED driver working great, multi color and blink
Remember, no contribution from Xiaomi yet. That's the reason why I try to avoid "Xiaomi" string in my source as possible but Wingtech.
I use CyanogenMod resources as much as possible, including common MSM8916 device tree and kernel. Maintain device source tree and leave common part to CyanogenMod community. I'll strictly follow CyanogenMod coding style and source structure. This is about source code quality.
AGAIN, I DO NOT OWN THE ROM.
Will try it soon. And I hope Xiaomi will release the kernel like Redmi 1s.
kumajaya and zwliew are the most stable CM12.1 roms for our phone. I hope they reach 100% full working version in near future.
Thank you both!

hi, so i came across these two links:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/8-0-0-lineageos-15-0-oreo-t3670377?nocache=1
so my question is this and hope i can get help on it:
i want to flash my le max 2 to either android 7 or 8, which third-party ROM (be it android 7 or 8) is the best and free of bugs?
which is pre-rooted? would love one that has been rooted before installing...if not yet rooted, hope it will be easy to root and help on rooting pls.
is the above link the best or any other suggestions and links...? :fingers-crossed:
would appreciate helpful links and comments
thanks

Here's a link to resurrection remix. It's pretty good. https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/x82x-resurrectionremix-m-v5-7-4-t3542355. Most N roms are stable. You have instructions how to install the rom and what gapps to use in the first post on the rom thread. It's also pre rooted.
For the future, when you want to install root just flash this: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
Heyyo, for the most stable Nougat ROM? I'd recommend OmniROM. It's not as bleeding edge in changes such as BlackX or Resurrection Remix but it is built for stability upon OmniROM and Darkobas kernel. Depending as well on the build of Resurrection Remix it could have battery drain issues as you'll see on and off in the thread.
OmniROM also has the advantage of signed builds by Google so they come with official SafetyNet Certification. No need of Magisk and Magisk module workarounds so things like fingerprint unlock with your banking app should work without issue unlike any other ROM I've tried with RBC app... That also means if the Le Max 2 had built in NFC that android pay would have worked without a hitch...
I believe the only other custom ROM with signed builds by Google for official SafetyNet Certification is Paranoid Android but sadly there isn't official builds for the Le Max 2 (yet). Maybe once GalacticSryder receives his Le Max 2 we will see that and built upon is custom kernel as well!
I tried porting it but I suck at it and failed haha oh well at least it turns out I'm good at vehicle repairs
If you want ROMs with as much optimization as possible? BlackX or Slimroms is what I'd recommend. Good device tree and vendor stacks and built with Blackscreen kernel for a good balance between performance and battery life.
Also, Resurrection Remix for Nougat has reached final versions so it won't be receiving updates. As far as I know for Nougat ROMs I think Slimroms and BlackX are the only ones receiving updates still as andr68rus and I believe the same with Shivatejapeddi have both changed focus to Oreo.

You're welcome
It's up to you which path you wish to go. As mentioned OmniROM is definitely the most stable ROM as it tends to not receive major changes as quickly as other ROMs.
The official signed builds are found here:
http://dl.omnirom.org/x2/
Any ROM is super easy to root. Only requires flashing Magisk via TWRP. I'd easily recommend it over any other form of root since it's fully open source software (FOSS) and the modules capabilities is amazing with stuff like Universal SafetyNet fix or other mods like enabling 60fps recording on the Google Camera Mod. I also really enjoy the ART Optimization mod for a little extra performance.
Magisk is found here on XDA and I'd recommend v14.3 right now because v14.0 stable has actually given me more grief heh
You can download and read up on Magisk right here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74158225&postcount=31
BlackX ROM is actually maintained by that other dude who posted here, KuranKaname and definitely has the most optimizations of the buch that I recommended. His builds are based on LineageOS with Blackscreen 3.6 kernel which is really nice. His ROM does require special Gapps which can be found in his thread with the ROM downloads as well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-blackx-unofficial-optimized-t3668458
Slimroms was the third I mentioned which is kind of is a balance between the stability of OmniROM but some of the optimization of BlackX.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-blackx-unofficial-optimized-t3668458
Since there isn't any limit on ROMs to flash you can always try out a ROM for a few days and if it doesn't quite suit your needs you can try swapping to a different ROM to see how it feels. In the end only you will know which of the three I mentioned is to your liking the most.

Actually, my build are based on a mixture of Lineage + Slim
Android experience relies heavily on Google's Play Services. The microG project creates an alternative to installing Gapps, which install and execute closed-source blobs on our phones. MicroG however requires a patch called "signature spoofing", which allows microG's apps to spoof themselves as Google Apps. LineageOS currently does not include the patch due to different opinions among the developers. (further information can be found here)
This makes microG installation difficult on LineageOS and other ROMs. Our ROM is a fork of LineageOS with just the necessary changes to have microG built-in. We ship weekly builds for all the LineageOS supported devices..

I'm just sharing that such a ROM for our devices works.
I'm not providing full support but will try to straight out any doubts.

I don't know really - I'm using this fork of LOS as my daily driver and wanted to share that precious thing with the others. Latest release is from 19th of March.

Sadly enough I'm not a maintainer - This fork is automatically built from LOS source that Anik was taking care of. Now that he gave up on it we're not gonna recieve any updates - sorry !

I've got absolutely no idea why. I presume taking care of official fork as a maintainer is a hard and unforgiving job that nobody will even thank you for.
That's completely understandable then why he stopped.. atleast for me.

So that means u r gonna stop too some day? Since google allowed the uncertified devices with custom roms back again n I think both opengapps n microG won't be such issues again. Why don't u pick up where he left off?

Since I'm not a developer of this particular ROM. All I've done was share the information that such a thing exists and is available for IDO owners.
I could try to release my fork of kernel and AOSP ROM but it's a waste of time to do so if I won't provide and kind of support for it since I've got absolutely not time for bugfixing and active development.
Is lineage micog better? can i still install google apps. is it better for the battery life?

If you had spent just like few minutes on googling what's MicroG you would understand that it's a full replacement of GApps.
You don't have Google Services or Google Localisation Services instead you're using MicroG Framework and "fake play store" which operates just like ordinary play store allowing you to download apps google server.
It's ALOT better in terms of battery life and performance but it is still in development and I've encountered quite a few issues during configuration. Apps like Uber work and will carry you around but the showcase of cars on map is bugged. It may have been related to the fact that I've simply misconfigured it but yeah.
Work google play game?

I've found it quite tricky. It does work overall and allows u to log into the game even tho developers say it shouldn't be possible at all but the app itself crashes so u can't really look up your level and profile data but, I don't think that's important.

I'm use those ROM for quite long and till know, if you've your best setup for avoid draining battery of course using LOS with microG is my preferred ways.
Hello
Thank you for providing this ROM ! I just installed it and everything is working fine. My location is well determined by the phone.
From Fdroid I found the app called "Signature spoofing checker", who tells me in a big red screen that signature spoofing is disabled. However in the "MicroG parameters > Self-verification" I do see the boxes about spoofing are ticked. Any idea what's that about ?
Cheers
I still have an Redmi 3 Pro and the links are dead. Anyone have a link for LineageOS 14.1 for MicroG for ido? Appreciate it. I know 14.1 is not maintained anymore but still can't understand why not keep the latest updates available.
Hi guys,
I am forced to upgrade my moto G5 plus due to a network update
In my moto G5 plus I have installed dotOS with android 11 and I am really happy with it, and I would like "clone" it on a Moto G Power.
Here are some questions:
1) since Moto G Power (2021) is not listed on dotOS but a GSI ARM64 available, has anyone experienced with that? I am also open to other custom ROMS (also Lineage OS doesnt have this devicelisted)
2) I also noticed that TWRP is not available for Moto G Power (2021), is there a good alternative or I have to use adb fastboot?
Thanks!
Edit:
I just found the thread:
[RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 3.6.0-11 [BORNEO] Android 11 Based (updated 12/11/2021)
I can try that for question 2

Presently I don't believe it is possible to have a custom rom as we need the kernel be released for it to have a chance, or a compatible similar device and its kernel.
Hi Onoitsu and thank you for the reply,
so I guess I could go with the stock ROM. I noticed that I can use https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/borneo/ has an official and blankflash (not sure what the difference is). If I understand the process correctly I could:
1) unlock bootloader
2) flash twrp in recovery
3) flash blankflash.zip (or official?) through twrp
4) flash magisk through twrp
5) restore my old phone dotOS android 11 backup through twrp
and I should have all the apps and data as in the old device?

The blankflash is only if you can no longer flash anything by usual methods
Blankflash and EDL Mode
Is my device in EDL Mode?
How to boot into EDL Mode
Thanks for the info!
Should the reasoning above work if I use official instead of blankflash?

Neither the blank flash nor official firmware are twrp compatible.
Thanks sd_shadow for the info, it is really helping me out.
I saw your post for using LSMA, but I couldnt find a Linux version. Is there one? Or the only other option I have is going through the fastboot process?
Can anyone tell me if there is going to be custom roms made for Borneo?

Mostly concerned because google has said they're going to stop their 'less secure app' thing at the end of this month and it might mean textnow will stop working outright for people that don't use play services.
Hopefully anyone working on making a custom rom for Borneo will see this thread and maybe give an idea if its going to happen.
Does this help?
If I wanted to start from scratch what would I need to know to make my own custom rom? Don't need a phone, will only ever use wifi. Just need microg basically.
The following statement is on the dotOS FAQs:
Q: My device is not supported! What should I do?!A: First reason can be that our development team doesn't have your device to support it or we no maintainer applied for this device. You can always use our GSI builds if your phone supports Treble Project.
Here we have this statement:
... Google requires every Certified Android device launching with Android 8.0 Oreo and above to support Treble.
Here borneo is listed as a supported device.
Does this mean dotOS GSI supports MotoGPower 2021 without the need of vendor blobs?

@sd_shadow
Two sites that potential rom developers may want to check out:
1) https://github.com/moto-common
check out: https://github.com/moto-common/andr...ernel/blob/12/dtb/bengal-moto-base-borneo.dtb
2) https://github.com/moto-sm6115
Scroll through the list of repositories, particularly in the moto-common site
@sdembiske that looks promising, I am willing to give it a shot and contribute to the community. Is there a good guide on how to build the kernel with vendor tree/blobs etc...?
Reference "Moto G Power 2021 XT2117-4 Firmware Extractions" - You will find the extracted kernel etc. in the boot.img extracted link that you can download - there are many other extractions that you hopefully can use to build a custom or AOSP rom.
Your best bet would be to add a pre-built kernel in the build - you can google that for how-to's.

The Xiaomi poco m3 has the same SoC and other innards as the Moto G Power 2021 and it also has unofficial Lineage OS 19 support. I am considering hitting them up and using their code as part of the build. I'm also requesting Motorola Mobility LLC to release the kernel source for Android 11. I already have a device tree for Borneo on my github. Me and Fazwalrus have a telegram chat set up for the ROM development here
