Hey folks, I love the pixel, but I'd there a way to remove the Google search and the widget up top? I disabled Google from apps, disabled at a glance but I can't remove them. Is there a way or a trick without a launcher? I just want clean desktop as I got pannels for all my apps and those things are killing me ?
Only option is change the launcher.

Of course you'll wipe your phone when you unlock your bootloader so if you are thinking about it, sooner than later is better.

Better sooner than later because you have to wipe.
The instructions are the same for 6 and 6 pro, other than the firmware of course.
In short you just use Magisk app to patch the stock boot.img and you flash that via fastboot.

There has *never* been a risk of "****ing" up your phone, if it was sold by google. Other vendors have booby traps or require dangerous hacks.

I've looked around and it seems it has been an issue on previous HTC phones including the one, so it very well may be an HTC bug with some people, I was just curious if anyone (or all) running this specific rom were experiencing it. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. Again, keep up the great work!
Yes, you read that correctly.
unWatch is a module designed to allow power android users to have root/xposed/insecure bootloader on their devices without indicating to AW servers that this is going on.
Before:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After:
This module has been tested on the HTC One M8 on both GPE and Sense ROMS.
Usage:
1. Install.
2. Activate in Xposed.
3. Reboot.
That's it. Once you've rebooted, you should be able to install the AW client on your device with no other issues. Your device will not report that it has been rooted or "compromised" and you can do whatever the heck you want with your device.
Note:
The intent of this app is NOT to circumvent security policies that may be in place by whomever is making you use AW. Aside from enabling root-features, it does not circumvent any other features of the suite. PIN, launcher, email, power, etc. restrictions should still be in place.
Additionally, as the module fakes AW out to only install packages for a "generic" device, it is possible that further development will be needed for scenarios where, say, a profile is assigned ONLY to a specific manufacturer's device.
Again, the main goal of this is in scenarios where YOU own the device, but work is forcing you to use their software.
Download here
Donations greatly appreciated...but not required.

Unfortunately, no, it doesn't work like that. There are many different ways one can tell if a device is compromised, and probably no one way to account for all of them without inadvertently breaking other things that *need* root/insecure boot image.
This module Is made specifically to deal with the way AirWatch is doing these checks...which is pretty poorly, TBH. I'm not doing anything with the ROM itself.
I believe what you're describing is more or less the module "RootCloak", which is a behemoth of an undertaking compared to what this does.

I prepared a zip for flashing Google's new Pixel Launcher in TWRP recovery for my convenience and decided to share it as more and more users are enjoying the success of unlocking the bootloader and flashing the TWRP recovery on their new Honor 8 device.
For those having yet to unlock the bootloader of their Honor 8, I've attached the apk's below for simple apk installation with Unknown Sources enabled in System Settings. However, I have not installed either apk via this method so the attached apk's are simply provided for users without root to try and report success or failure.
Once successfully installed, Pixel Launcher can be set as the default launcher in EMUI by performing the following steps below:
Settings > Apps > Advanced > Default App Settings > Launcher
thanks for sharing
Too bad this launcher don't let CM theme engine set icon packs.
But it's clean
maybe u should try nova launcher, it has options to change the looks to pixel style
Does the APK really work? Has anyone test it? Any downsides of installing it using APK and not flashing via TWRP? I don't have my bootloader unlocked.

What does it do?
Installs a few pixel apps
https://github.com/anupritaisno1/PixelExperienceOneplus/tree/master/system
Runs magisk's resetprop utility to set the following values
Everything is being updated so constantly that you need to check my github: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/anupritaisno1/PixelExperienceOneplus/master/common/post-fs-data.sh

So, the pixels came out
Everything suddenly became so "pixelated" (RR literally took pixel's theme and so did oxygenos beta on the op3)
Everyone started making their own 'pixel experience'
So i decided to do it too
But i wanted to think different
I wanted a mod that could give me pixel experience without butchering my system and deleting important apps
(Yes, king's pixel experience removed important apps that i need everyday like the cyanogenmod music player)
I wanted to only add the necessary apps, staying free from unnecessary bloatware
And this is it:
Let us call it "aosp meets pixel"
You get the pixel experience you've always wanted but the aosp experience you missed
You stay away from potential instabilities caused by debloat (i mean, who in this world removes cyanogenmod file manager from cm)
It survives otas
It is easier to get past SN
Do i need to be systemless?

Really it's just a matter of choice.
If you don't want to debloat or if nightlies are a problem for you where you have to reflash the mod every time but flashing a 9 mb file at every ota (magisk) won't hurt or if you want additional control over existing stuff then just go for it
Really, this is just pixel meets aosp because you get all the pixel apps while still keeping aosp apps. The only real difference is that I used @FaserF's zip as a base

This is not a bug but it is a mistake on your behalf that resulted in an error causing the flash to fail
Please, atleast try to understand that this module does need magisk
You need to flash magisk first
Bug report ignored, reason: user mistake
So if I get this right, I need to:
Flash (dirty) CM 14.1
Flash SU
Flash Magisk
Then this Pixel zip.
Yes?
EDIT: Done. Alert slider works fine and so does everything else.

Magisk is the interface that's allowed us to use systemless modules. If you don't have it installed, your system can't know by itself how to use systemless stuff.
Flashed CM, mini Gapps, magisk, Pixel Experience, Boeffla Kernel and OOS Camera.
I got an "There was a problem communicating with Google servers, try again later" error.
I tried re-flashing, got the same error.
I tried flashing stock Gapps instead, but again, same result.
Please help.
Edit: I just flashed it without magisk and Pixel Experience, and it's working flawlessly.
Edit 2: Nvm, realized I didn't flash SU. Sorry. Thanks, btw. Works perfectly.

Just trying to add in my 2cents, but have you tried following this article?(I just googled it a few minutes ago)

Try reading the troubleshooting tips section? I have not personally tried flashing GSI, but I am assuming you're more adventurous than I am.
And if you had read the article, pardon me, was not trying to insult your intelligence.

Just trying to add in my 2cents, but have you tried following this article?(I just googled it a few minutes ago)
https://www.xda-developers.com/flash-generic-system-image-project-treble-device/
Try reading the troubleshooting tips section? I have not personally tried flashing GSI, but I am assuming you're more adventurous than I am.
And if you had read the article, pardon me, was not trying to insult your intelligence.

Did you follow any instructions? What about the standby drain? I Love to have a rom with nearly Stock attitudes, but it must be usable...
After over 2 hours of trying I'm still ending up in a bootloop as well

how do you install it? i'm eager to install it but i'm afraid i got bootloop again like my last time installing it
Ok, I think I know my issue.
The current images are "a/b" images. Mi9SE seems to be "a" only (at least thats what Treble Check is telling me).
190501 offers an "a" only build, I think thats the one satmaster got working.
Maybe I will try again later.

Have you used A-only or AB?

But what? There isn't really much to do wrong, is it?
As I'm using xiaomi.eu I first reverted to stock, did a factory reset and than fastboot flash system.
Ended up with bootloop as well (a-only version).
Next time I try I will have a look at the logs.
