Question Power Button Too Sensitive - Redmi Note 10

Hi,
The power button on my Redmi Note 10 has become too sensitive. It reacts to the slightest touch, I just put the case on it, they literally barely touch each other, and immediately the phone turns on or off. I had a problem with restarting tself, probably because the button is stuck. Does anyone know if the problem can be solved without changing the button, and what is the approximate price for the button?
My phone is out of warranty because camera glass and back cover are broken.

same thing happened to my volume down button
for me the solution was to press the button really hard until its sensitivity fixes itself

Just 4-5 seconds

Wow, it's real!
Last night I encountered this type of oversensitive, but now my F3 works properly.
I tried 3,4 times of few seconds strong pressing with towel, depends on your phone.

Anyone else have to press above the dots for them to respond?

Or is this just my phone?
If I press directly on the softkey dots (Back, Home, Menu) they do nothing, I have to press above them (nearer to the screen) for anything to happen, really quite annoying!

Try swiping upwards slightly on them.
So your saying yes you do?! lol
Any way to fix this, recalibration of the screen maybe? Although everything else responds to touch where it should.
i think everyone have that, just swipe a bit, thats the easiest way...

My wife got recently Galaxy Note and buttons over there are so responsive. That's the only biggest flaw I have got with my XS. I kinda got used to it now, but there is still room for improvement. I really hope it is software related and will be corrected with ICS.

Ok well thats sorts that out then, poor design by Sony IMO.. The most frequently used 'buttons' on the phone and they don't work if pressed centrally/directly!
I, like another user in the thread linked to above often press 'Home' when trying to press 'Space'... Also very annoying!
Its screen protectors fault, I removed mine like a week ago and they perfect

I don't really think this is a real problem, because I always have to touch the screen slightly above where I want it to register. So I think it's the same with the buttons, I have to press slightly underneath the screen and this works perfectly every time.
It also helps to use the whole thumb instead of just the tip.

I never have this "press space and home key responded" problem.
But I do agree there is a certain degree of learning curve for the buttons.

[Q] powering on the screen using back or menu soft keys.

No, it cannot. They are inactive until the screen is turned on. Your phone wouldn't be able to go into deep sleep if it was anticipating you touching soft keys.

why not? surely it doesn't take all them brainy quad cores to monitor one little button.
The HoX can do it so why cant ours?

what is the big deal to press either power or home botton to wake up screen....
Hard botton is always prefferable for unlocking the screen otherwise each accedental tap will make your phone awake and drain the battery to zero in your pocket itself...

Never owned a HOX but is it one of the reasons for poor battery on HOX?

With paranoid android you can turn on the onscreen buttons and some people actually prefere this, some even have remapped the home button to a soft key. All i'm saying is that some people do not like the feel on the home button.

Its actually a mod that you install, and the battery issues are not present in most the custom roms
why cant any of the devs make the back key, when you hold and press, the task manager appears. i think holding the main button dow will eventually mess the button up. at the moment when you hold and press the back key, nothing happens. whereas if you hold down the menu button you get google search thingy

When the CPU is in deep-sleep, none of them are awake. Actually the CPU sets itself a timer to wake up, check for work and go to sleep again.
(Not really different from what we do all day =) Only with the exception that it's not supposed to oversleep ^^ )
I'm not sure as for the hardware but there are 2 possible reasons for the CPU not waking up to softkeys:
- they might be polled (the CPU asks their status every X milliseconds) instead of interrupts (notify the CPU with very high priority about any changes) That would mean the CPU had to be awake for them to work which drains a lot of power
- Some interrupts are capable of waking up a deep-sleeping CPU , others aren't.

i don;t think that is really an issue, this has been the same on the S2 as well and it didn't mess up the button.

Lock button stuck/doesn't work

The lock button randomly gets stuck on my phone and sometimes just doesn't work. The button feels fine physically, but it just doesn't work. Any suggestions other than sending it back to Samsung?
Thanks for any help.

Just to clarify, the button is not physically stuck in place right?

If I had this problem, I would probably take apart the back half off the phone. I'd then check to see if I can re-seat the button properly. It's not too difficult to take it apart.

Ah ok just realized my mistake before you replied.
There is an app called Button Savior you could use.
if your power button is messed up. and you didnt do it. Of course warranty that thing.
I guess my best bet is to suck it up and send it in for warranty repair. I just don't want to be phoneless.

There are programs you can use that allow you to turn your phone off and on by a quick shake, proximity sensor, etc..

tryed to flash clean rom 2.5 now phone frooze

my phone is stuck on the install screen how do I reset my phone to get back to recovery?
Hold down power button for awhile. Capacitive buttons will flash then reboot.
Find a bright light and hold phone under it. Press and hold the power button until the phone shuts off.

for some reason if holding the power button alone doesn't work, and sometimes it doesn't overwhelming the ambient light sensor does the job. It's the same on the HTC Butterfly too.

I honestly thought you were trolling as well, good trick to know.
its to prevent accidental button combos while its in you pocket or bag. it uses the light and proximity sensors to determine if its in a pocket or bag
I about laughed, then I knew you know what you are talking about, so I went and did your suggestion, and lmao, it worked. I was going crazy in my dark dungeon of an office, then I saw the light. Thanks for that.
Aroma is not very stable. I personally use up and down keys instead of touch screen and it works much better. Also I try to not rush. Once you get to next screen, wait 2 to 5 seconds then use up and down and then power to select or push buttons. Works for me every time.

Power Button Issue? Or Software?

Hey guys, something that iv'e been noticing lately that has been an annoyance. I notice sometimes when I pull my phone out of my pocket and press the power button nothing happens unless I press it twice, it seems the power button doesn't respond until the second screen turns on. Is this some sort of software setting that has to do with the gyro sensor and being in my pocket?

I can't reproduce this. In fact my phone will turn on in my pocket of it press the power button. Fingerprint reader unlocks it there.

This is my first LG phone, I honestly could be pressing a volume button by mistake, but I can't figure it out! I also do not use the fingerprint reader, not sure if that would really make a difference with this situation however.
I've had back buttons using the G2 and G3. It took me a while to not press a volume key instead of the power button. I always used knock on with those phones though, never the power button. Fingerprint reader has been awesome to me. If it's taking 2 taps you might have a defective unit.

No, you got it right. The phone is basically sleeping while the second screen is off. It doesn't turn on until the proximity sensor trips it to come back on. Put the phone in your pocket and wait a minute. Take it out really quick and try and turn it on. Or even use the knock on..... It won't work.... It's kind of annoying.... Lol.
Android Central mentioned that annoyance in their review.... :banghead:
