[Q] IMEI null/null HELP PLEASE

Hello, I recently bought a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 2 off of ebay, I put in my sim card and it doesn't read it. Originally i thought it was a hardware problem but when i typed *#06# It said IMEI Null/Null. Is there anyway i can possibly get this removed so I can use the phone? It is not rooted but I am willing to root it if it is needed to fix the problem, Thanks

T-mobile USA, or T-mobile Europe? They have different models.
You're in the right place for T-mobile Europe.
T-mobile USA's phone is different, and has a separate forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1329

[Q] Chinese phone LKD L8

Hello everybody. New to the site, but learning a lot.
I purchased a Chinese an unlocked android phone from Taiwan, LKD L8, and I thought I was supposed to be able to swap SIM cards pretty easily. When I got it to the US, I was originally on T-mobile. Recently I tried switching carriers and when I put in a new SIM card I now have to enter a privacy password. I called both T-mobile and Ting and they both said it's a phone issue. Unfortunately I cannot find any tech support from the company. I tried resetting the device, but that does not remove the privacy password. I searched and I guess I'm not the only one with this problem. A suggested fix is that I flash the ROM. I can't find LKD L8 on this site, so I was wondering if I could flash a different ROM? From the little I know, I have to make sure the chipset is the same correct?
The specs on the L8 are very similar to the Samsung S5 I think.
L8 Specs:
WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHZ
Chipset MTK6592-1.7Ghz-Octa-Core
OS android 4.4.2
Sim Dual-SIM Dual-Standby
Gravity Sensor yes
Distance Sensor yes
GPS yes
FM yes
USB 5 pin mini
What do you all think? Could I flash it with the Samsung ROM?
Thanks for your help. I tried other forums, but this site seems to be the best.

[Q] Difference between G925F and G925I?

Hi,
Just one question. I'm thinking of buying the s6 edge but just wondering what the actual difference between the two models are i.e. G925F and G925I.
Also, if I buy the G925F model, would I be able to flash the firmware for a G925I. I'm asking because they both have the same internals and, as far as I know, they're both identical except for those model numbers.
Sorry if this is a simple question; I'm relatively new to all this.
Thanks in advance!

I'd like to know this too. I have a G925F and would like to flash the G925I firmware in it. Can it be done ?
In pratice is the same, but I version have Brazil settings, and Brazil to hexa goes now...
I flashed roms in vce-versa versions... didnt change, just VolLTE in some cases (because CSC)
The only difference between these 2 models is that they support different radio frequencies
no hexa for us... this time

Xiaomi Redmi note 4 second SIM slot disabled in firmware.

Hi all.
I own the above mentioned phone for some time now and I have a question for the forum.
The phone was purchased from Vodacom (Vodafone) in South Africa, their policy is to only sell single SIM devices.
So somehow the second SIM slot is disabled. What I want to know is if anybody has figured out how to reverse this and re-enable the SIM slot.
The phone is a Qualcomm variant and I came across a programme the other day on the MediaTek firmware website that can edit the IMEI number. My thought is that perhaps I could add the second IMEI to the phone which might make the firmware "see" the second SIM slot.
Does this sound feasible or even doable? Any advice is welcome.
I want someone more experienced than I am to give me some guidance before I try this so that I don't brick the phone and end up having to buy another one unnecessarily.
Thanks in advance.
Have you considered using MiFlash to flash an international version of MIUI to see if that gives you both sim slots?

No. I have only now learned of MiFlash thanks to you.
I will search for it.
Come to think of it though, the ROM is largely untampered with by Vodacom (unlike the Samsung's they sell), so I don't think that's how they did the dual SIM disablement.
My previous phone, which my son has now, is a Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime. Its also dual SIM device, and I upgraded the ROM on it in order to achieve the same result.
My belief is that it's kernel related and not firmware. What I need more insight into is how the SIM slots are detected in the firmware/kernel in order to be able to enable them.
