I have an unrooted phone with no custom rom, and no unlocked bootloader which i had to reset. Now, when I boot it up and have setup start, I need to use an email account previously used on the device. The issue? It was my stepmoms phone. I have not spoken to her in 3 years. And i never bothered to add mine or get rid of her google account.
Am i stuffed? or is there a way to set the phone up skipping google account sign in?

Hi,
I have an unlocked T-Mo Vibrant. I bought it from a guy from Craigslist. I didn't had the time to remove the primary account of the previous owner.I cant access the market for this reason.
What i need to do so that i can use my own Google account as the primary account?
If i do a hard reset will the phone again be locked to T-Mo?It is running the official 2.1update1.
I am currently in india, so cant ask the guy again to unlock it for me and i am simply novice in Android though i love my phone .
Thanks,
Suman

Do what I did - except I didn't need to reset the phone, but if you do, you should be ok.
Reset it to factory specs, then use the WiFi to access the market. As long as you have an account ready to register with Google. Get the SGS tool or whatever it is you need and you're set.
I'm no expert but that's how I accessed the Market.
If i reset it to factory settings the phone again wont get locked to the carrier....right?
Is there any other way other than factory resetting to remove the primary account.
hi guys
I changed the sim card from my AT&T Atrix 4G...
when it reboot, it says
''SIM card is removed or changed. Log in your MOTOBLUR account to unlock.''
I register a motoblur account to unlock my phone...
unfortunately, it says
''Your username or password is incorrect. Please check them and try again.''
I had tried several times and it failed. I also check the account on pc and the ID and password are correct.
I can't use the phone...what should i do
I would flash 1.2.6 see if that fixes it. It should fix it. Then just update to what you want to.
AT&T ATRIX - VERSION 2.3.4 ROOTED BL UNLOCKED
Stuck at MotoBlur login (Atrix latest OS version 4.5.9)
Hello:
Have a similar issue with a recent Atrix I purchased unlocked and unaware I couldn't just drop my sim chip in and start using the phone.
Here is the background:
Put my ATT sim in new Atrix.
Noticed the MotoBlur login screen.
Researched how to bypass login (ALT e twice, "blurroff")
setup WiFi connectivity
updated OS from 2.2.2 to 4.5.9
Still get MotoBlur login.
Is there a way to delete the MotoBlur account (which I guess belongs to whoever unlocked the phone)?
Any step by step help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Im using Alien ROM 4 and not only did it let me bypass the blursetup but I have been using the phone for about a month with NO blur account on it wat all! I have the option still to set up my blur account, but Im not going to and I can use the phone like normal and never have blur on it. I have a blur account, but dont want to use it. So if Alien is an option for you, give that a try!
Thanks for the suggestion about Alien ROM
Any links you can suggest so I can follow step by step for Alien ROM 4?

you have to login .. why were trying to register .. u dont even need a data connection to log in the device when changing sim .. make sure u enter the details correctly.
Long time since i've posted here but can't figure out a way around new Android security "feature"...
I gave my GF a Moto G 3rd gen for christmas. She really liked it but didn't complete the initial setup so never linked her gmail to the device.
She had a run in with her ex boyfriend who stole her phone and held it for ransom for a few weeks before giving it back. In that time though he had been using it with his own sim card and had setup his gmail on the device. He is gone from the country now and we know of no way to contact him. He had also put a number lock on the phone.
No problem, I thought, i'll just reset the device. So I did a reset and wiped all info.
Upon startup it says:
"Verifying your account"
"This Device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on the device"
This is not possible as the only Google account ever on the device was the ex boyfriend's and he's gone.
So I checked online and figured "Okay well I'll just re-flash the ROM"...
So I found the base ROM for the phone in Canada and successfully flash it using ADB fastboot.
Turns out that even with the cache and accounts on the device cleared the restart still has the same request.
So I thought. "Well Maybe I can load a custom ROM"...
So I went to work trying to unlock the bootloader to root the device.
I got the code from Motorola and tried to unlock and got the message: "<bootloader> Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Developer Options FAILED
Which I cannot do because I cannot see a way into the device to unlock the dev options now.
Not sure what I can do now. This seems like a remarkably flawed security feature...
Never-mind was able to solve via:
it's been years since the last time i touch my Redmi 3, i forgot the password, so i just factory reset it with my twrp.
but i need to login with old email to verify my phone, i forgot which email, because i tried every email that i can remember i ever login into this phone but got denied.
i tried to full wipe and replace rom, but it's still the same prompt that pop up, Insert email to verify the phone. is there anyway to bypass this?
as far as i know, this feature is for miui Roms. flash a custom Rom and you never see this alarm again.
Hello everyone and thank you for reading my post! I had an Android which I kept in a different state after I moved. After I received it by mail (after 2.5 years) I did a factory reset because I did not remember the passcode. But now to open the Android it requests the Google login for the Google account I had on that phone. In the 2.5 years I didn't have that phone, I also began to use a different Google account and I don't remember the old one. IS there a way I can get past this? Maybe with some software or hackery?
Humbly,
Tom

Hello cmfCyangenModteam and thank you for your answer! I have a relatively new Google account. The problem is that the phone requests my old Google account because that's the one that I had when I used the phone. I tried inputting my newer one and the phone rejects it and doesn't unlock. I don't remember the old Google Account. How can I unlock it?

Have you tried doing a complete Factory Reset? If not, you can do that and then add this new Google Account.

I remembered it!
Factory reset many times until function "Create Google Account" appears.
Remove SIM from the phone.
Use Wi-Fi while setup is on process

I did a complete factory reset, yes
@humbleTom
That's FRP (factory reset protection). Background: Let's pretend that your mobile device got stolen. The first thing a thief will do is to reset the phone, because without knowing the correct display pattern the device is pretty useless (and it's very hard to sold in that state ). Since the settings menu is also unreachable with a locked display the thief is forced to reset the phone via recovery mode. This mode must be always accessible by pressing the right key combo in case you are in serious trouble with an unbootable device. Doing it that way, the following setup of the device requires a login to the last active Google account to verify the owner.
This verification step is also required if you do a factory reset in your settings menu. But here the verification is done before you delete everything by entering your display pattern. This will disable FRP for the following reset because you have then verified that this device is yours.
@WoKoschekk thank you for your answer. Is there any software I can use? I once forgot the password to my windows computer and found software online that was able to unlock the computer. Do you know of anything like that for Androids?

We are talking of a security feature that protects the device. It's not allowed to give any help to bypass FRP in a public forum.
what phone model/android version we're talking about? samfw supports some devices.
