Question Phone into fastboot but "fastboot devices" shows nothing - OnePlus Nord 2 5G

Hi, pretty much all the info are in the title. I reboot in fastboot but doing fastboot devices doesn't show anything.
I'm using the original cable so I don't thing that's the issue.

adb devices command detected your device? And download the latest platform tools.

Do you see the fastboot mode letters on your phone with very tiny fonts?

Yes, can't really read it unless using another phone as a magnifier.

Are you tried another port ( USB 2 ) ?
I had same problems, rebooted, changed ports, switched Linux / Windows. Did not remember what really helped. Than flashed entire A20, which I needed for update, and no more problems ....

The same here
I remember that have similar problems with the ThinkPads I have. Plugin to the dock's USB 2 helped in this time.
As last resort have 12 years old Arch Linux Acer which still not fails.

yeah right, i didnt even had these letter showing up and phone was not booting into fastboot mode, i mean it does and it immediately rebooted to system. So i had to roll back to Android 11 ( tedious task ) and from then i booted back to Fastboot.

when you get into bootloader you have to hit the power button once to get into fastboot mode. try all in one toolkit run the command follow the on screen instructions if it says waiting for device hit the power button once and it should start

I encountered a similar issue when I tried to flash a new rom. I have 2 computers, one with Windows 8 and the other with Windows 7. I found that I couldn't get adb working on the Win8 PC but it worked nicely on the win7.
You should also make sure your USB Cable is good and not plugged into any USB Hub or USB 3.0 plug
Best to plugin to the motherboard directly. I learned this the hard way one day with a USB Hub. Nothing worked till i unhooked the Hub from the PC
I have no problems in windows 8 now

SGP621 dead after flashing for Oreo upgrade.

Dears, I was (was) getting excited about the Oreo upgrade for our Z3 Tablet and I started the needs by following the related thread but when I flashed the boot.img........ after that, Windows started to recognize it as "Unkno w USB Device (Configuration Description Request Failed).
Now it doesn't boot anymore and it is not recognized by the system. I tried also from another PC with Windows 10 but same result....
How can I fix it?

Dear,
thanks for the reply. Yes, I did... the bad is I don't see the magenta/blu icon appears when I do the up+plug. The device is recognized but in that "strange" status.

My guess is that your device either got hard-bricked or that you need to re-install the drivers on your PC (e.g. with Flashtool).

thanks, I tested it also under macOS... it's hard brick. There is any way to bring it at life?
Thanks for your support
Can you boot in fastboot mode? Or is your device not recognized in fastboot mode? If you can you can try flashing stock firmware with Flashtool. If not, I can't help you any further :crying:

I have installed the adb and fastboot, installed the motorola drivers and connected my phone to my pc. My phone is detected when it's just on but not when it's in fastboot. I know it's not much information but that's really all the information, feel free to ask questions if needed. Thanks

I had this exact issue, adb worked properly when phone was on, and in fastbootd as well but in regular fastboot the phone wasn't detected at all, turned out the issue was the usb-c cable I was using, so be sure to try another one if you have it already, but before you go out and buy an extra usb-c cable check if there's any warnings about the driver in your device manager, I hear that's also a possible cause.

[Q] Phone doesn't boot after flashing boot.img, can't get into recovery, can't even charge

Hi, I literally f**ked up my root progress with patched boot.img.
I'm using a phone that is a clone of Panasonic Eluga x1 Pro. I decided to root it with magisk patched root.img. Simply flashed the patched img with adb using "fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img" and ran "fastboot restart" to restart it to my system, it didn't booted up since. I can't go in recovery mode, the phone is literally not giving or receiving anything.

I tried that with SP Flash Tool with stock rom of course. I'm trying to plug in my phone but the SP Flash Tool don't wanna flash it, i don't know why. (I have auth and da files too)
By the way, I ran the SP Flash Tool, Format All + Download, when i plug in my phone holding VolUP, it just throws "STATUS_ERR (0xC0010001)" thing. I don't know what to do at this point.

In the Device Manager on PC, it simply says "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM (Android) (COM12)" about my phone i think.
I don't wanna be that guy but your phone is, think of a person who's alive but can't speak, move, nod, anything, for itself.
However, you may have luck, because they're still repairable, but your best bet is take it back and play dumb, they don't have the time/willingness/resources to check whether you messed with it. Went to bed, woke up, i swear, i dunno, it was like that, tsk, tsk, tsk...

enter fastboot devices , if the computer recognizes your device, flash the stock rom, otherwise try to find a way to get into edl mode on youtube until the computer recognizes your device. EDL is just a 2nd bootloader (maybe?)

Samsung A8 not being detected in download mode

I've been attempting to recover my samsung galaxy A8 from a brick, by flashing the original firmware for 3 days. I successfully got TWRP flashed, and couldn't connect to the phone using MTP, so I ended up using an SD card to transfer the firmware zip. Long story short, I tried to treble it, and it completely bricked, leaving me without TWRP, or anything to boot.
I've put it in download mode, swapped through 10 different USB C cables, and still can't get my PC to recognize it. I've tried two computers, one running arch linux, and the other one through windows 10 and arch linux. Nothing. Whenever I run "lsusb" I can't see the phone. I also can't see it in device manager.
