How should I back up my phone data before unlocking OEM? - Motorola One Fusion+ Questions & Answers

Unlocking OEM gives me a prompt that says it will wipe all user data.
What would be the best way to back up all of my phone data (apps, configurations, music etc...) before doing this?
Thanks.

There is a software for windows called dr.fone which is best and perfect for android utilities or if u like to backup everything without the use of pc you can copy and paste every folder from the file manager and after wipe data repaste them on device and for apps use an app named zbackup which is best to backup apps alongwith apk,obb and cache

-now that backup is stored on my int. storage , even if i move it to some

from the system(point is does the backup file needs to be there in the
device storage(int or ext) at the time of restore - assuming device is
connected)
2)now when a diff rom is loaded (which has done full wipe) ,
-any other way can i get my prev data and app installed settings without
restore
-and if i do restore what exact will happen , mean ,will my prev app and data
settings get restored on top of new rom or something else?
3)How to get cwm recovery menu screen from PHONE Switched OFF state?

Titanium Backup will do everything you asked for (I recomment the Pro version and you MUST be rooted).
It will backup and restore apps and data, and will also freeze or uninstall any app.
It's on the market for free, but I really do recommend paying the small amount for the full version.

+1 Ti is one of the few apps I would recommend to anyone that wants to flash roms. You can backup all your apps and settings before a flash and then restore quickly and easily. The freeze function is very handy also. IMO you buy this one and never look back. A MUST HAVE.
A nand backup will be used to restore the phone as it already exists. It does not backup apps and settings specifically but you can pull apks and such out of one. Basically you do a nand before you start playing around and if you screw something up or just take an instant dislike to the new rom you flashed you can go into recovery and restore that nand and your phone will be just like you never did anything. It will not however back up your radio.
What I do is backup a few apps data separately and then go into Ti and backup all my apps and system data. I boot into recovery and I make a nand. Then I go over to usb storage and I move the entire contents of the sd over to my computer. This will have both the nand and the Ti backup on it. I delete the entire internal storage after I have taken a quick look to make sure that the backup on my pc is good. This gives me a completely fresh base to start a new rom from. Once I have the new rom flashed I move my ti backup over and restore. I then move the other data that the backup contains that I want back on the phone over and I'm up and running. I keep my music and other stuff that is just going to move from one flash to the next on my sd card as it isnt wiped in the process even if you do a hard reset and it can just stay there without the hassle of backing it up and restoring it. Do not delete your backup until you are sure that you have everything you may want back across to your phone. I usually keep it until the next rom when I start the process over with a new backup.
@JJEgan - which part
@johncmolyneux ,@krabman - thnx guys
so int. usb storage will also be wiped in the process, right?
also can u clarify
- How to get cwm recovery menu screen from PHONE Switched OFF state(like we see by using the function from cwm app -> reboot into CWM rec)
- how can i delete samsung hub apps by editing system and framework files(or if any other file for that matter)?
(assuming i have req explorer)

Just try putting the /data/data folder in that zip, should work fine.
My phone stores app data in the /data/data folder. Should be same for your phone too.
This was what i did once.
If you want, you can install Apps like My Backup root/ Titanium Backup from Play Store (requires root) . They have the ability to backup App data as well as restore it. I use My backup , It can restore the data of apps that you select with one tap. You dont need to click yes for every prompt.

app data help

I have another problem. I factory reset my phone including the titanium backup so i cant restore my apps data. I made a image backup using my phone explorer software i was able to restore but my app data is still seemingly missing. what am i doing wrong? using s3 sgh-i747. i NEED MY APP DATA and have it on my pc
App data from data/data/ needs root to be restored but some apps will disagree with the data being restored so expect force close etc.
App data from /data/emulated/0/android/data can be replaced usually without issues but some apps use signed save data so again, some apps may disagree.
You can copy them directly from a root enabled file explorer if you can extract the data from the backup.

The i747 is an AT&T s3 and the phone's forum is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att

so i am to copy folders that are on my pc? and paste them to those folders?
For the 0/android/data/ yes. For the data/data/ copy all of the app folders like com.*gamename.* into the data/data folder. Do not replace the data folder itself as the permissions will change affecting the subtree..
DO NOT RESTORE DATA FOR SYSTEM APPS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THE MOST LIKELY OUTCOME IS BOOTLOOP!. Sorry for the caps lock but it is intentional to get the message across how serious I am. System apps must restore their data from the cloud or they won't see it. Encryption is a bugger (app data is encrypted for most system apps).

Backup tool for user apps including data ( without ROOT )

Good evening all together, does anybody know an app or a method (possibly via ADB) to save the user apps including data / settings, so that I can restore the apps with the corresponding settings relatively easily after a factory reset? Titanium Backup, for example, only works with root, I have already tried. The Mi Mover only saves the .apk files for the new installation, so not really helpful. I thought about using adb / fastboot command to create an image of the DATA partition, but I think this will fail because of the encryption, right?
Anyway, I am grateful for suggestions.

How backup and restore WhatsApp (no Gapps) and everythi9ng else?

I have one Rom installed on my phone and it's already not the original one. I want to install the latetest version of a different one (from Ressurraction to CrDroid). I know how to do it and I know that I will have to format everything.
I don't have google drive or any google services installed. I do have access to a computer where I could just push and pull things with adb.
All my apps are form F-Droid, except for a few that I've manually downloaded, such as WhatsApp.
So, I have a few questions:
1. How do I fully backup WhatsApp so that I can restore it again, after formatting everything? When I follow WhatsApp instructions it just doesn't work: I receive a message that the backup could not be restored. Is there a way to make sure it would work? Maybe even backing up everything with another program?
2. Is there a way to back up all other APPs and data and everything installed and restore it in the new Android release? I've tried to manually use adb push/pull but it doesn't work.
Thanks in advance
For instance, under GNU/Linux you can generate an archive of your /home/user directory and extract it in your new computer and ALL your data from all installed apps will be restored just fine. You might need to reinstall all apps again, but the data will be there!
How to do something like that on Android?
You give me the impression that you have Magisk
Simply use Migrate app to backup all applications , contacts , call logs and messages , this should be enough if you are only installing new ROM
But if you are wiping the whole internal storage ethen
Also manually copy The WhatsApp , DCIM,Document ,Download,Pictures and other important folder to your PC via MTP and restore them
