Anyone else have difficulties with using your fingertip to drag on the screen? Seems to always miss a spot and drop icons. Thumb works no problem.
Don't recall this happening before the update.
Just tried it and I didn't get any problems; might be due to the dropped signal because of the thickness of the skin there.... but it could be from the update; I haven't had any LCD problems yet.

I downloaded a touch test app, it definitely loses touch signal at various parts of the screen, happens on both of my Atrix phones. Pressing with my thumb is better but still not perfect. Happened after the latest update.
I hate noticed if I used my fingertip to drag/scroll and if my fingernail touches, it registers a press. Didn't happen before the update, but I'll just have to get used to it.
Hey folks,
I have a persistent problem with my phone where often when I scroll up or down I end up inadvertently selecting items as I drag my finger across the screen. This happens consistently across applications and has persisted through flashing multiple SBF's. I'm running Gingerblur right now but this started happening before I installed my first custom ROM. I recall that touchscreen sensitivity went way down with the 1.53 update but I know I had this problem previous to that. I'm certain my finger/thumb remains firmly on the touchscreen for the duration of the swipe and doesn't end up tapping to select anything as I scroll.
I do have an InvisibleShield protector on my phone but I wouldn't think that's the culprit. I've used these on my phones for years now without issue.
Anyone have any ideas or is it off to the AT&T store to plead my case? I can't exactly take the InvisibleShield off 'cause I wouldn't be able to reapply it afterwards...I'd be out $15 for a new one.

Zagg will replace it for free if it is damaged while protecting your phone as long as you registered it. If you bought it third party you do have to pay shipping.
I have a shield on my Atrix and do not have any issues, although this phone is more sensative than my EVO.

This sometimes happens to me w/ the Skinomi SkinTech which is pretty much the same thing as the Zagg InvisibleSHIELD. I notice it the most when Im Swyping someone a text message. Can anyone w/o a screen protector confirm they dont have this problem when Swyping or scrolling?
Anyone have any issues with the screen staying on while talking? I've noticed it kinda acts a little strange. Sometimes it stays on the whole call unless I hit the power button. Sometimes it stays on while in speaker and shuts off after I leave speaker. It been kinda random.

same problem here. i've just gotten used to turning it off with the power button
i was having the same issues and someone asked me if i had a screen protector, well , i did and decided to cut the corner where the sensor is and no more issues, if you got a protector you might be having it cus of it.
BTW, thanks donatom3, since you were the person who asked me if i had a protector and only after that i decided to cut a corner of it and solved my issue ..
i have a zagg hd from bestbuy...
Have any of you experienced something like the screen registering a touch even if you didn't really touch it (or it didn't feel like it did) while having the finger very close to the screen?
Its something that happened me very randomly and not so frequently with my iPod Touch, but now with the S3 is something definetively more frequent, and sometimes is annoying, very weird!

Is there any particular reason on why it happens, or anything that could be done to 'fix it'
Its just a little nuissance, for example after typing a letter in the keyboard, in just one press it will register 2 or even 3 touches, one before really touching, when touching, and one after touching (being 3 times very rare and 2 touches a bit less than uncommon)
Weird, though the s3 screen is super sensitive I haven't experienced any double touch so far. Try testing your screen using multi touch tester and see if you can trace anything weird there

Just wondering......can it be affected by static electricity?

I've had this a few times, but not so much that it's annoying. I'm using a generic e-bay screen protector. Anybody else who is having this phenomenon got a screen protector on, or are you going nekkid ?
I've had it too but very rarely. Don't think it's much of a problem. Capacitive touchscreens work based on the electrical charge our skin possesses so your static charge theory might be right(correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm guessing wearing wool or nylon clothing here might be part of the problem! Also atmospherics can play a big part. I seriously don't think this is a hardware problem at all imho.
Yep i get this too, can espically see it on the 'test' screen where you are drawing on it, sometimes my finger passes right over it and it registers it. I'm going with static electricit and the screen protector generating a little current just before your finger touches as the culprit.
Hi
My Z2 was delivered yesterday and I love it however there is one issue. I have found that when I'm moving my finger up and down the screen I get the feeling as if there is static on there - almost like you used to get with a CRT.
Has anyone else noticed this? Im using the screen protector that came in the box.

Just in case this helps anyone else. I got a new Z2 and the issue was solved.
Ok
Take note that you will get a almost 99.9% un noticable tingle from touchscreens because of how they work but some devices after hours of use you may get a small static shock
(i use to get a shock with a xperia s i have)
Just a little random info for ya
