How to root an xtrons IX92MTVL with unisoc MCU - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, I got a new HU from xtrons, the IX92MTVL. It has a Unisoc T618 built in with Android 12 installed.
I'm searching for a way to get root access, but I don't know how.
I tried it via ADB but I can't get a connection between my laptop and the HU. Magisk won't work because I have no specific custom recovery for TWRP.
Is anyone here who has experience with rooting such devices or knowledge about how to do so?
Thx in advance

[Q] {HELP} Zoostorm playtab 10.1 3305-1030 Rooting

Hello,
As the title says i require help in rooting a zoostorm playtab model 3305-1030, it apparently uses the rockchip 3066 [rk3066] i have tried the method described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2363342 but for some unknown reason to myself the package is invalid for installation, so i tried to then go down the route of installing it via CWM but am unable to install CWM via sdcard, i would be ever so grateful if someone who has experience rooting such a device could help me out i am a newb with tablets but follow instructions very well.
Kind Regards,
Andy

is it possibile to (also temporaly) root an mtk device without install app/recovery?

Hi all,
i bought a Sony Bravia android tv, powered by Android 5.0.2 and an mtk 5890 cpu.
I would like to root it, but without installing a recovery or an app like KingRoot. I found for example some "pwn - based" scripts, but the binary doesn't run on lollipop.
Is there another way to root the device from command line?
Thanks

Rooting Asus zenfone X00KD [Trouble]

Hi there,
I recently got in my hands an Asus (Mediatek according to system properties) zenfone 4A Max X00KD. It comes with android 7 nougat installed, and fully bloated with usefulness apps.
I've tried to root it (I did it before with other devices with older android os) but this thing comes with a Chinese recovery boot mode which is very limited.
Steps I've already done:
-Usb debugging enabled.
-adb & fastboot tools working.
-Unlocked bootloader.
I've been reading about the SP_Flash_tool and the MTK_droid_tool as well as the ZenFone_Rootkit, but none of them work with android 7. The same happens with apks like kingroot (tried and without success).
Too many people talks about TWRP in order to inject Magisk tools' zip, but there's no version for this phone, and in order to complie I need the source (I think from the zenfone kernel, correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm unable to find it trough the web.
Am I missing something? Is there any way to root an android 7 with a chinese bootloader?
Thanks in advance.
Dear , did you find any solution ? I m facing same. thanks

Use wireless adaptor with redmi s2/y2

Hey fellow devs,
I wanted to know if there is any way i can install a custom module to my android's kernel.
I tried using "insmod" command on my androidsu terminal but got an error "missing required keys" i guess it has something to do with secure boot but my bootloader is already unlocked and my device is rooted. Im currently using a redmi y2 (s2) and i wish to use a wireless adaptor with mt7601 chipset. Is there anyway i can do this without building the whole kernel?
Also i have kali nethunter installed in my device.
Please respond asap

Rooting Rockchip rk3066 Android 10 TV Box?

Hi guys, I recently bought a H30 TV box with a rk3066 chip. Is there a way to root it?
There doesn't seem to be any way of reaching the recovery menu, pushing the button on the back just resets it.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!
Thanks

Click to collapse
As long as you can access the tv box via ADB, its Android can be rooted

Thanks. Well, I have adb access, "adb devices" works and I can push to the box. But still no root. I think android 10 may be part of the problem.
Is there a way to install twrp from adb? Fastboot doesn't work. If I could install twrp, I could turn off the verification and use the magisk-patched boot.zip I made.
