I've had this tablet for a long time, unlocked but on the latest Huawei rom (Android 9).
Unfortunately, my daughter broke the screen. I've had it replaced with a part from China and at first, it worked fine but after a while, it started locking up for a couple of seconds once in a while because of touch. The screen broke a second time and had it replaced again, with another part from China from a second manufacturer. This time the problem with touch is even worse. It even does not work in recovery.
So, does anyone have a nonworking M5 8.4 with a Good screen that I could buy to try to fix my SHT-AL09? There is simply no other tablet with good specs and cellular connection with this size.
Thanks!

So I made the jump from Android (Nexus One) to the Radar and I really like it so far!
I do, however, have an issue with the phone that I am wondering if anyone else has noticed.
I have noticed that sometimes when I go to touch a tile(or other UI object)...if I quickly touch it, it seems that the screen doesn't always detect my touch. Sometimes I'll even hit it a couple of times before it responds.
The behavior is inconsistent though. After it smartens up and responds to my touch, then it seems to detect it fine. It's squirrelly and a little disconcerting.
I also think that the region of the screen might have something to do with it. The tile 2nd from the top on the home screen ("messaging" in my case) seems particularly susceptible to this problem.
Has anyone else noticed this? I'm a little paranoid because I bought this phone "new" from someone on CL and when I took it home I realized it was a refurbished model.
I had this problem when I had my 7 Pro. After a while it got worse, as I had to put the phone on standby and then turn it on again to be able to use the screen. I sent it in to HTC for repair, and they swapped the entire front panel with a new one.
Im having the same problem with my sprint arrive I think the problem is related to what is in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239238&page=7
but I still cant seem to get it to work
I have a Galaxy S3 that I have been running CM 10.2 on for quite some time. Today I dropped the phone and cracked the screen. The phone still worked perfectly in every way despite the cracked screen. I used it for a few hours after without any issues. I took it to someone today to replace the screen assembly. When I got the phone back it turns on and the screen looks fine but it hangs on the samsung screen for 3-5 minutes before booting in to anything (booting the rom, recovery mode, download mode etc. all take 3-5 minutes to start) when the phone finally boots the touch screen does not work at all. All buttons work fine, including the bottom buttons (back and settings) for touch but no where else does the screen respond to touch.
So far I've tried:
- wiping cache
- factory reset
- re-installed CM 10.2 rom
- Took the back off the phone and checked all the connections, unclipped and clipped back in to be sure they were connected ok.
- Completely removed battery and all sim/sd cards for an hour
At this point I'm not sure if I'm dealing with a hardware issue (maybe they guy screwed something up when replacing the screen) or the digitizer/screen he used is faulty? I know this doesn't neccessarily mean anything but when I got it back the new screen still had the protective film etc. on it so I'm almost positive the screen assembly the guy used was at least new.
And I don't really understand where the 3-5 minute boot issue could come from? I wouldn't think it would be related to the screen/digitizer but I suppose anything is possible. What could explain this?
Is there any way this could be a software issue or any other troubleshooting I can attempt?

Very strange, but it looks like it was indeed a software issue after all. For some reason changing the screen out while having CM 10.2 installed did not play well together. I did a full wipe and went back to stock rom and touch is working now. I may try a new install of CM again to see what happens. Odd

I confirme the guy on the last video....i have same problem. Sometimes i need to tape twice on the icone or s letter on keyboard to make it work...
i have mini dualsim....d618...
I had D620R where the screen started going nuts at its own will after having it for a week. Quick Memo was fine, but drawing a lock pattern was a pain in the neck, since the screen didn't register the motion as one continous swipe at all. That also caused misclicks while scrolling page in Chrome.
Got a warranty replacement. Worked fine for two weeks or so, but one morning I woke up and tried to unlock. Touch response went bananas again. Either a good coincidence, or I have some unorthodox usage patterns which trigger that bug eventually. The most twisted thing is that I couldn't go and reproduce the bug in any way. It just came after normal usage (and I'm using the most generic apps) and the bug just solved itself in a few hours. That was the case every time it happened. Of course I could've used another way to lock the phone as a workaround, but since the pattern lock is the most basic Android feature it's very odd that they were able to mess it up that way.
Luckily I was able to return that one also and switched to another model.
Yes there are
I got a D625 on December 20... i was sooooo happy , until december 22... :silly: the screen became not so responsive, some taps it did recognoise but some didn't, and was even worse with the swiping... making it hard to even unlock the phone, then, the next day I had no data conection... no LTE, no 3G... so today I took it to service... they will try and fix it or replace in 48hrs... the thing is I found a video on youtube wich shows that this is a common thing, maybe a capacitive issue or something...
I bought a Mate 20 Pro on preorder and noticed within a few days a seemingly non-responsive part of the screen that was an intermittent issue.
Basically every now and again (often enough it’s annoying but not every time) after I unlock the display I am unable to select any app icons in the lower half of the touchscreen. The top half is fine - the home buttons are fine but everywhere from the middle down is non responsive.
I assumed a hardware fault so amazon replaced it for me - and the new device is exactly the same!
Am I just super unlucky and have managed to get two faulty devices a month apart from Amazon or is something else causing the issue?
Thanks.
Think you've just been unlucky, nothing like that on mine
Fine here too. I assume you tested this as soon as you got the phone before installing any app / custom launcher?
Have you tried running smart diagnostic tests manual mode in hicare, there's a touchscreen display test.
Sent from my HUAWEI LYA-L09 using XDA Labs
I only noticed it in use after I used a custom launcher however I tried multiple launchers and saw the same behaviour.
I just did the HiCare test and it says normal. I did hard reset it the other day and it hasn’t happened since so I will see if anything else happens. I can’t say I am thrilled by the thought of another swap from amazon if it does happen. That’s super bad luck.
Hi how did it go after the hard reset?
I got the same issue myself but instead of being the lower half, my entire screen does not respond to touch. I've done a hard reset my self and i do run the stock launcher. Even though my screen still doesn't respond to touch now and then after unlocking the screen or receiving a phone call.
Touchscreen issue
Yup I get it annoyingly so as well! Often takes a "double tap". Pain in the ace!
I have a Huawei ascend mate 2 consumer cellular branded MT2-L03. I have replaced the screen and digitizer twice now. The first time around the display was fine but the screen was unresponsive. Went back check my connections and figured I got non working piece in the kit. ( I ordered a kit with screen, digitizer, and frame together) Returned it and got a second one. Same problem. Does anyone know if another component could be messed up on the board? Could this be a software problem? I noticed a touch screen firmware update option in the reset menu. I'm still new at this. Thanks.
Also have this issue - I've replaced dozens of screens on different devices over 10+years and have had no issues like this.
Seems a little strange that there is a spot for "touchscreen fw" in the recovery yet I have yet to find any info on this after quite a bit of searching.
Feel free to send me a "let me google that for you" if I missed something.
