Is anybody with the S23 Ultra AND preferably the latest Nova Launcher installed (but OneUI 5.1 is good for this, too) able to set a voice command timer for just a couple of minutes using a manual command via OK, Google? Such as "OK, Google set timer for 2 minutes."
I would like to know if a "Dismiss" pop-up happens when the timer has counted down.
It does on my two previous Galaxy phones, but even after this latest update, it will not do it on my S23 Ultra, with either the OneUI 5.1 or Nova Launcher set...
Many Thanks.....
FG
You mean this one on the bottom right corner?

Yes, or very similar......!
But I am only getting that particular pop-up, if I use Clock | Timers | Set Timer......and it counts down!
But doing the quick (and previously reliable on other Galaxy's) voice command (via OK, Google), to set the timer......when it counts down there is no pop-up of any kind! I can't voice command it to stop or turn off....so my only option is to restart the phone!
How did you get your pop-up?
It is like that by default I haven't done anything in particular.
Maybe it has something to do with picture in picture access.
Try check the clock and/or Google settings regarding that.

When using the Google assistant to set the timer I don't get the prompt either. When using bixby I get that little window with the option to dismiss.

As stated. I am using anti theft software that forces my phone to switch on wifi and GPS but as soon as it does I get that message telling me something is using my GPS etc. This looks suspicious to a potential thief in my opinion so I want to know if there was anyway at all I could remove or disable this pop up

Well. I have found out that Cerberus somehow disables this message shortly after it is displayed. However I prefer to use PhoneLocator Pro and that is the problem app for me. I contacted the developer and this is the reply
Hello !
This issue is because of your custom ROM you are running.
This is not happening in all the ROM's and you should ask developers of this rom how this issue can be fixed - maybe there is a way to disable this.
I will document myself on this, but I don't know if this can be fixed - even if you are saying that Cerberus doesn't have this behavior . Cereberus might be using a hack to turn on the GPS, a hack which I don't want to use cause Google is watching and these things can ban your app from the Play store.
Switch to Avast.
You can remotely lock the phone, sound an alarm, send text, forward calls, forward text, wipe phone info, gps track etc.... all through text commands. You also have the added benefit of anti-virus and firewall protection.
Best of all..... It's FREE.

I have that installed as well, it isn't as feature rich in comparison to PhoneLocator Pro or Cerberus. Plus I like to use the web based interface rather than SMS
how to disable GPS notification in coolpad note 3. I turn off the location "setting->location->OFF" but it doesn't work.
I love knock on, and it works great for me. But some people apparently have a problem with the phone turning on in their pocket. The Sprint ZV6 update supposedly has some changes included to address this problem, but how effective it will be is anyone's guess. I was recently involved in a discussion elsewhere as to whether it would be possible to use Tasker to prevent knock-on from working in your pocket, but I don't think it is.
I did discover another approach, though, that will work. Verified on the LS990 with BarRin v2, but it should work on any rooted G3 with a stock-based kernel. ( IF you have an AT&T or T-Mobile version, you can probably find this setting in HiddenMenu without using the Shortcut Master app, by entering the dialer codes as in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-rid-lag-g3-t2819365)
Note that this will turn off both knock on and knock OFF. If you still want to use knock off, you'll need to use one of the many screen off apps in the play store, in combination with an alternate launcher like Nova or Apex.
1. Download and install Shortcut Master: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
2. Open the app and select Search from the menu. Enter hiddenmenu in the search field, and press search.

3. Scroll down and find the row for com.lge.hiddenmenu.settings.LgSrvKnockonSetting
4. Tap that row, and then tap on "Launch"
5. Change the toggle from On to Off, then back out of Shortcut Master.
You can repeat the steps to turn it back on.
Been using this since day one. Worse idea I've ever heard of, having this enabled. I'm sure other will appreciate this too.
Thanks.
also for verizon, search knock and you should find it for verizon users
Same, I disabled this right away back in Sept using the exact method posted. But awesome tutorial, pics and all. Good work!

Marginally, yes but barely noticeable. Unless it was constantly going off in your pocket, thats a big battery waster, lol.
Struggling to get Redmi Note 9 Pro to store my Google Maps history.
I used to have it quite smooth in Samsung A8 and other devices, but here I only get a couple dots connected with straight lines. Mostly these points are from the moments when I unlock the phone. Locked phone doesn't allow G-Maps to get the history right.
Some exclusions: when I use Maps navigation, timeline stored is very precise.
What I have tried:
- "lock" maps in task switcher
- set permissions for Maps, services, other location-related apps - to "Allow while in use" or "Allow always" (when this option is accessible)
- disable batter-saving for these apps
- share my live location permanently to my friend through Google Maps. He can see the location, but at the same time no history/timeline stored in a smooth way.
What I would like: have the Timeline with much more details stored.

Same problem here. Very annoying!
My workaround is using http://gpslogger.app and letting it locate once per minute and upload the data to my Google drive. Thus location timeline becomes reasonable accurate.

How much battery drain does this cause? (How much more battery life would you get if you disabled this)?

Hard to tell as I'm very much confined to my home at the moment and only leave for some hours. Whenever I let the phone just rest on the table, It doesn't even locate or send the location. The other problem (random freezes and reboots) didn't happy any more since I set my 2nd sim card to 3G.
I had a missed called,
Looking all over the place to find out what time I missed the call,
Impossible to find this information?
I can't believe for Google Progress means Regress
Some suggestions online send you to
Recents | Call Histrory | Long Press on the number
All I see is
- Number
- Copy Number
- Edit number before call
- Block/report spam
- Delete
What am I missing? Even if it is somewhere that I missed, the fact that I have to search the internet and then post about it just to able to get a basic information about a call says a lot about Google.
Should be in the dialer under 'Recents'.

So you don't have anywhere like this:
Yeah I see recents, then I see a list of recent calls
All it says is `Sat` for when was the call
I want to know the time.
So I long Press on the call in question and I see the screenshot above.
Do you see the time on your phone?
It seems to only show the current days time for calls. However if you click on the middle of the call you want the time for in recents you end up with this:
Then click history and you've a full list of the calls from that contact.
Thank you,
@ Google, Insanely intuitive (sarcasm)
On my Pixel 6, I can see the date/time of the call by going to Recents > Short-press the number > History. The Day and time are shown at the bottom of the screen.

Yes, that is exactly what I said?
Hi everyone!
Since the last Android update on my Pixel 6, "Do not disturb" keeps turning on every time I get into my car. I have repeatedly disabled it, only for it to come back on by itself. I've checked my Sync settings and I can't find anything that would be turning this on. I have deleted the Driving Mode in Schedules repeatedly and I have also tried leaving it in Schedules, but disabled.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!

Have driving mode turn on automatically on your Pixel phone - Pixel Phone Help

This tells me how to turn it on.... how do I stop it from turning on? I keep deleting the rule, but it automatically adds it again without asking me.
