Question S23 Ultra cable data transfer maximum speed - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Hi.
Who can tell me if the S23 Ultra cable data transfer maximum speed was 480 mb/s or much more to pc or SSD?

Yes. It looks like it's still USB 2.0.

definitely 2.0 , I used a 3.0 usb drive and transfer speeds were slow

In this case I'am asking maximum speed that tested for S23 Ultra in real data transfer

With my usb-c pen drive 12Gb data takes less tha 2-3mnts to transfer... 1000mbs speed rate usb-c pen

Of course. I've tried all the cables. Original, USB 3.0, USB 4.0 - the maximum speed is still USB 2.0.

Yes. 5-10 Gigabits. That's still a lot less than all the other computers have 40 Gigabits. But it's just a phone. It probably doesn't need high speed.

On gsm arena they say USB-3.2

Sir, can you send me a screenshot of the storage menu of your 1TB version? I am thinking to get a 1TB version for myself, I got my hands on a 512Gb one, curious about storage stats.

Can you use STANDARD MINI USB??

Can you use standard mini usb leads / CHARGERS (Like the XDA EXEC or nokia data lead etc) ??
they look like they might fit, but not willing to try - has anyone??
Can they confirm one way or another!!
(I have solar battery chargers etc and wish to use them!)
also......
if you use the headphones socket AND the mini usb headphones, can they be programmed to recieve DIFFERENT feeds!?? (for mp3 DJ Mixing etc!)
Also could the mini usb socket be used as a LINE IN ????
And Finally does anyone know if the MULTI VIDEO adapter lead works with the HERO???
as that would be great!
;-)
God Bless, Kevin <><
ALSO..........
WHATS the LARGEST SD card available for HERO???? ;-)
Yes it would work. The difference between the mini usb is that it's 6 pins which can be use for charging and transferring files. The proprietary connector has 11 pins which is use, in addition to charging and transferring files, for video output. You can Google this too; my un-techie sister did this with her Mytouch lol. Sorry I can't answer the other questions cause I haven't bought the Hero yet (waiting for a price drop >.<)
Can't give you any answers over the sound question's but I do know
you can charge your phone with mini usb, I often use my camera cable when
i'm on the road, leaving the charger at home so I can't lose it.

The current largest I'm aware of that WILL work is 16MB - 32MB cards are now coming onto the market and these should work. If anyone knows...please speak up.

i think u mean 16/32 GB! (that's a slight difference^^) and yes the hero can take up to 32GB micro SDHC cards
@JBNAquatics: The miniUSB has a 5pin layout! The 4 standart pins (+5V,Data+,Data-,GND) and a 5th pin to differentiate between Type A and B (A: pin4 is connected to GND; B: pin4 is not connected)

YES it should work just fine, you can charge even with a standart miniUSB cabel plugged into your PC (as long as your port delivers 500mA -> no passive hubs) BUT i noticed the charger delivered with my Hero got 1A output. therefore it should charge twice as fast with this one.
Just to be sure check the power supply u want to use, if it has 5V and 500ma to 1A output (i have seen some chargers with outputs around 3V don't think they would work)

500 gb hard drive connection

Hello everyone, Im not sure if this topic has been discuss in detail or not, but I have managed to connect a spare 500gb hard drive to my note 3. Here is everything I used.
I upgraded my laptop to a Samsung 250gb SSD, which provided me with a spare HDD:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MZ-7T...=1387366438&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+250gb+ssd
It comes with a cable already in it (USB 2.0) so this next item is optional, A Apricorn USB 3.0 Transger cable:
http://www.amazon.com/Apricorn-Note...qid=1387366498&sr=8-1&keywords=apricorn+clone
And lastly, it needs to connect to the phone, so I picked up this USB 3.0 OTG cable:
http://www.amazon.com/White-Color-M...7366411&sr=8-3&keywords=galaxy+note+3+usb+otg
Now here is the steps I took.
Since my HDD still had stuff on it, and it was partitioned, I had to wipe it clean. I formatted the HDD on my computer first. I formatted it to exfat. Maybe another way will work but I'm not testing it. I then hooked up all the wires accordingly and plugged it into my phone. The N3 did not recognize the file format of the HDD so I re-formatted it to the N3 standard. After that, it is as simple as plug and play. I was even able to use the stock My Files app.
Note*** obviously the SSD is not a requirement, unfortunately, I am unable to test it as it has been in my computer for several months and I dont want to risk corrupting anything. It may work with the SSD as well, although I doubt it will reach the speeds it can on a computer.
I am not rooted and did not have to download anything extra for it.
Pics:
Cool. But curious as to why you would need a 500G HDD attached to the N3

This. We were using a variant setup, pushing the content via DLNA to our Xbox 360 (connected to a good ole 'dumb' tube TV). Quite enjoyable.
Damn I didnt even know you could do this
Has anyone found a way to pass through power with a splitter or something so while connecting the USB OTG cable you could still run the phone off of power without depleting the battery? I asked this same question in the Note 8 forum but no one found a way.

what format was the hdd in exFAT or NTFS ?
I use the OTG dongle to hook up my 1TB drive and play movies and TV shows directly from the drive.
(Also works with the tablet)
I formatted it to exfat. I have a 1tb external also. But it's already formatted to ntfs. And it's full so I'm not going to risk losing a thing on it.

Because it's not supposed to work that way... The OTG cable puts your device in "host" mode... so it will use the phones power to run your HDD and kill the ability to charge... there are ways to get power to the HDD so you don't drain your device battery as much but the charging thing is a native function of OTG switching.
This is what i've been using... it has HDMI out ... microUSB 5v input to run the HDD... USB port for HDD or any other USB device... (using a wireless keyboard on it right now)... and card reader ports...
You can fake this thing into trying to charge the phone by plugging in the micro USB connection first and THEN plugging the hub into the phone with the microUSB power already on... then you see the charge notification in the status bar but it still doesn't charge the device... even with the samsung 2amp charger as a power supply... the battery still drains
What about wireless charging? I Don't have a wireless charger or battery cover to test this. But this may work

That actually is a good idea to try. I'm less optimistic about that as my previous experience with wireless charging has shown that it is less efficient t getting current to the phone as a wired connection and there are some things done on your phone that even when plugged to a 2A wired connection will still drain the battery.
What about the Smart dock? With 2 USB ports an HDMI and power in?

That's the problem I'm running into... I'm running the HDMI/MHL/OTG hub... I got the HDMI out to my flat screen... OTG to a wireless keyboard... bluetooth mouse... When it all hooks up properly (you have to plug everything in the right order) the Note 3 screen shuts off and it runs as a proper CPU with output to the flat screen...but even with the samsung 2 amp charger plugged in I still lose about 1% battery every 5 minutes... better than running without the charger but that s$#t can't be good for the battery running that hard and charging at the same time AND losing the battle.

USB OTG and Y cables?

Okay, I've had some trouble in the past selecting USB OTG cables. I have 4 now. One for my old Galaxy Victory that I no longer have, one for my Nexus 10 I sold, one for my PadFone X, and one for my HTC m7 that works w/ the Z3 and Shield Tab. Are USB Y cables as finicky? Does anybody reccommend a particular one?

Pretty much anyone of those usb to ethernet adapters you find should work. I've tried with 2 of those MIC el cheapo adapters, works fine.
Thanks much appreciated
Of the ones I got, this one turned up first, works fine (although price has risen since I grabbed them).
Note that the charging input needs to be plugged in before the cable is plugged into the tablet.
I have trouble to find a store that ships those to Germany.
Amazon.de has one that looks identical, but pictures in webstores...
Also the description says it won't work simultaneously. But maybe that's just for your average phone...

No, Nvidia's implementation charges the tablet. That is the express purpose of Nvidia's addition, to allow simultaneous charging of the tablet while streaming over ethernet.
Please bear in mind I am actually using such a cable myself, and have confirmed the tablet charges used this way.

Any particular order I should be plugging it in? I don't charge using that cable
Edit: nvm I see. I got another one. *buy* Hopefully this one works. Mine doesn't.
I am a little bit confused, too.
1. Does this feature just works with Android 5 or also with 4.4.2?
2. Does this only work for ethernet adapters?
3. Does this only work in console mode? (would be strange)
I have this one from German amazon.de and tried it on 4.4.2 with a USB stick and a wireless 360 controller adapter. (non-console mode)
Either it charges the tablet or it recognizes the peripheral device, never both.
So is this a problem of the OS version, or of the used peripheral device, or of the OTG-Y cable?

Remote NDIS / USB Tethering Speed USB 3.1

Hello,
The XZ1 has a USB 3.1 C Connector right? Therefore it is capable of 5 Gbit/s (or 10?).
Within Windows 10 the tethered connection (Remote NDIS Compatible Device) is shown as a 425,9 Mbit/s Connection (Connected to a USB 3.0 ). Thats the same speed I am getting from a USB 2.0 Device.
Did I do or understand something wrong?
Thank you!

While it's got the Type-C USB connector, it is not clear if the port actually supports USB3.0 or higher.
The chipset is capable of that, but not sure about Sony's implementation.
I haven't yet tried to find out due to my lack of Type-C USB3 cables.
The one they shipped with the phone is a cheap USB2 one.

Interesting, they omitted the USB version info on the Compact's technical data page.
USB 3.x cables are supposed to have blue plastic inside the Type A connector.
There's also 5 additional pins behind the 4 standard ones that one could see.
