Hello guys,
I really need your help on how to restore Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (SM-P615), to factory reset after Odin flash failure.
The Odin flashing started, but accidentally my PC ran into blue screen error and restarted. I lunched Odin again and
connected the tablet to the PC again and on the tablet's says; "An error occurred while updating device software". It further
recommended Samsung Smart Switch, which I tried yet it can't even detect the tablet. Odin too can't detect the device,
since the tablet is not able to enter "Download Mode"
Moreover, when I disconnect the tablet USB cable from the PC, the screen goes dark and nothing shows. As soon as I connect
back the USB cable the "An error occurred while updating device software comes on the screen. I used Power button+Volume-
buttons to restart and try Volume+ and Volume- buttons to enter recovery mode but still nothing changes on the screen.
Again on the tablet's screen, there this red writing at upper left corner saying "Voltage Level [2526]. I changed the USB cable
hoping it could have done something but it is still the same issue and same error message on the screen of the tablet.
Please any advice is welcomed, and thank you all.
I would say maybe try to hard reset the motherboard. You can do that by unplugging the battery then plugging it back in internally, but don't take my advice for granted because this worked for me in the past but I am not a tablet or phone guru so I don't know much.
keep in mind I'm very adventurous and that's why I tried the battery thing in the first place.

Okay, I'll try that. However, for mean time before I heed to any hardware possible solution, I want to try with the software base first.
Very much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure i have attempted every solution on here (XDA) and elsewhere to troubleshoot my problem. I am hoping it is obvious, but i've put hours into this and i could really use some help!
My tablet is (or was) a Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy 10.1
I had successfully rooted it when i first got it using Odin...i flashed a ROM...can;t remember which one (obviously a wrong one) and ever since it has been rather temperamental.
Over the course of the past week i have been to APX and back... Heimdall (which i am pretty sure i am not doing correctly) to attempting to flash firmware..stock roms etc...
I don;t know whether it is a driver issue, or if i need a stock rom or to flash firmware....but here is where i am at now.
If i try to power up normally...the Samsung galaxy tab logo bootlader flashes for a sec or two...the screen then either goes black...and repeats a few times...or sometimes it flashes the logo and the backlight stays on until i turn it off.
(Seems to be a fairly common problem)
If i hold the volume up and power together...i can get to the Odin download screen with the flashing droid and the midget droid that appears to be walking away from a trash can.
HOWEVER, when i plug the tab into my laptop (windows 7 x64) (i also have access to a (windows 7 x86) and my girlfriends xp machine. I've tried on all mostly on my x64 machine.
Heres the thing.
When i power down...sometimes just pressing the power button once or twice...sometimes, while off i hold the volume down button for a few sec..and all of a sudden the comp reads the device and i can get open ODIN...get the yellow COM thing...but never seem i always get the same error message...can not open/find com/port...
so i can get into odin on my comp with a black screen on my device...or i can get to download mode on my device and my machine wont recognize it.
I seem to have inherited a little bit of everyones problems on here...
Please tell me that there is hope for my tablet...please help? I'm sure you can imagine my frustration. TY.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think i did try this at one point...the problem still stands...when i am in odin dl mode on my tab...the com tab wont turn yellow and comp wont read my device.
If i do it the other way....with a black screen...it wont be able to communicate or find the port. ...but ill try again right now.
Nope....epic fail. There has to be a solution, right?
As long as you can get into download mode you should be able to fix it. Most likely the issue is not your tab but the drivers on your computer.
I spent the better part of a day frustrated trying to go from the leaked 3.2 to official 3.2 having issues similar to you with Odin. Funny thing is for me the PC somehow ended up not recognizing the tab on the USB port I used to flash on but would on others so I simply swapped Ports and continued. Little did I realize that although things seemed okay that issue was a symptom and Odin was now flashing corrupted info onto the tablet.
A simple reboot of the PC fixed things for me. That you have tried other machines though is worrisome. Still there's a chance it still is a driver issue so I would check drivers on the PC and perhaps install kies if you don't have it to see if the drivers with kies help.
Since you're on the Verizon tab flash back to stock 3.1 and flash stock recovery. Then let all the OTA updates run. After that all you need to do is flash cwm and Pershoots kernel along with superuser to be rooted. There is no better ROM for our Verizon tab than this and all wifi ROMs are incompatible with it.
Still, no luck. When i am in download mode on my tab....my computer doesn't recognize it. When I just power up and and plus it in, the screen goes black but the computer sees the device as well as ODIN. However sometimes it is recognized as APX and sometimes it is recognized as a Samsung android device... usually with one or two driver errors.
So, it seems obvious that it would be a driver issue... i've tries kies, and as many variations of drivers i can find.,.. when in APX mode i try to flash using the nvflash method in cmd or heimdall, otherwise i try ODIN and it seems to be successful until the "setup connection" point.
Is there a way (if it is even something i should do ) to get drivers on my device in its current state?
Im at a loss...i know this thing can be resurrected...everything just seems so backwards. Any thoughts?
I know that this is a very basic question, but do you have USB Debugging enabled?
George
No way to check now, as he says the tablet doesn't boot any more.
It sounds like a driver issue for sure, and to be clear here the ONLY requirement that I know of when flashing with odin on the TABLET end is for it to be in download mode waiting for usb BEFORE being plugged in. So when I say driver issue Im talking about on the PC side here. Have kies installed just to get the drivers, fire up odin and get the tab into download mode while unplugged. Plug it in and watch odin to see if the com port status lights up. If not swap usb port and repeat. Do not use a hub and ypu may want to remove unnecessary usb devices too just to see.
Hello folks,
I've a friend who's not a Technical person, however, he tried what he shouldn't have and now he has a totally dead S2.
The problems:
1. Phone doesn't switch on, nor does it goes to download or recovery mode - I tried it all.
2. When I connect a charger or usb - It does start showing the battery icon and while connected to the cable, if I turn it on it stays at the Samsung logo forever.
3. Since I don't know how to even get it to download mode, I'm unable to go any further.
What he did:
1. Trying to upgrade to JB, I think he messed up with the kernel by uploading one which may not be compatible as I've heard S2 has different variants. (He loaded Siyah 4.2)
2. Before doing this, he had connected to ODIN and was trying to load the official JB file but it always got stuck on one of the steps and that's when his phone got a bit sick - it would show "Please connect to KIES and try a recovery" kind of message. And this led him to do Step 1, which he shouldn't have.
I read a lot of posts, tried a lot of things but the phone never goes to download mode. And I've no clue how to try anything else?
So experts, I need your help here and I want to know if this phone will start at all? Can we somehow get it to work? If not at home, can the people at Samsung flash it or something?
Please help. Lots of thanks already!

try this method
if u have any mini usb cable cut it and peel of the skin and short the the 4th and 5th pin with 300k resistor or 100k*3 resistor and connect to mobile u will directly goto the download mode remove this pin and connect pc in odin mode and flash first with ics rom and if it is success and then try jelly bean try good luck
I have the same problem.
Today i tried fixing a bricked galaxy s2(yellow triangle with exclamation mark on boot) by reinstalling the stock firmware with odin and a pit file.
During the install i got stuck at NAND write start. So i took the battery out to get out of download mode and put it back in.When i tried going to download mode,it wouldn't start, charge, boot, anything!it's like it's completly dead.
Is there any other way to go to download mode without using a JIG?

Sorry to say this mate......you shoulda read some threads.....
If you had, you'd have realised.....
1) you start messing with pit files as a LAST resort
2) you NEVER pull a battery during an odin flash
3) when you saw the failure of 'nand write start' there was still the possibility to recover your phone....right up to the point when you pulled the battery.......
So now you have no recovery mode, no download mode and no on screen indication when you plug the charger in.....
Don't bother with the jig.....it's a long shot under the best of circumstances.....
There Is one thing you could try.....
Take the battery out. Press the vol down, power and home keys simultaneously......and WHILE holding the keys.....reinsert the battery....you will probably need help to do it.
It *might* kickstart the phone into download mode.....or.......it might not.
If it fails.....then Samsung warranty repair is realistically your only option.....Don't mention XDA or rooting or custom roms or odin or anything like that. Play dumb....say you were updating with kies, the phone switched off and wouldn't turn on again.......

Thank you so much!! I wasn't able to get a usb jig but managed to get it online with a quick delivery. It was my first time using a usb jig but it's too simple. I've a working phone with JB in it.
Thanks again!

Thanks for you answer! Will a JTAG work?If i can find one?The phone is off the warranty.
The way I see it is that at the moment, you own a paperweight.....so best to *try* the cheaper options first....jtagging being the cheapest......
If that doesn't sort it....you have 2 options.....
1) replace the mainboard
2) buy an entirely new phone.....
Basically whichever option you choose from now on will have *some* financial cost........

A 3rd option is to buy a 2nd hand phone with maybe a cracked screen, and use the board from that.

Yesterday I glanced over to my Samsung Galaxy S3 to see the startup logo (as below) just stuck on my screen. The one that says "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300".
Here's as much useful info about my phone as I can think of:
I have never tried to root my phone, or do any other modding to it
I bought it second hand from a friend, who says they have not done anything of the sort either. I did a fresh install of what I think was Android 4.3 when I got it
I live in the UK and I think the phone is from the UK too, originally tied to a provider but is now unlocked.
I obviously attempted to reboot the phone. I held down the power button and after quite a few seconds the screen went black, then I let go and instantly the same startup logo reappeared. I tried again, without releasing the power button this time, same result.
I tried plugging in the charger, held down the power button, and it then went to a sort-of charging screen. There was a little grey icon on the battery, appearing as though it was not charging.
It wasn't showing the usual charging animation, rather a different one with a greyed battery icon. Holding down the power button on this screen performed the same as with the original logo screen, it just looped.
Here's what I then tried, in order:
removing the battery for 5, 10, 30 minutes. No luck.
leaving it at the startup screen for 30 minutes. No luck
gently tapping the side of the phone, in case the power button was stuck. No luck.
entering RECOVERY MODE and CLEARING CACHE PARTITION. No luck.
entering RECOVERY MODE and WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET. No luck.
downloaded Kies and connected phone to PC via USB. Kies recognised that the phone was connected but it would stick at the "connecting" screen. I tried multiple USB cables and multiple USB ports, both front and rear of PC. No luck.
I then downloaded Odin and attempted to 'flash' (not good with the terminology, excuse any mistakes I make) my phone using various firmwares I found on the internet. I tried the md5 file both in the PDA and PHONE boxes. I kept downloading "BTU" firmwares(?), read that's what I want somewhere. The file name is "I9300XXUGMK6_I9300OXAGMK6_I9300XXUGMK6_HOME.tar.md5". However I kept encountering various errors, ranging from "there is no PIT partition", to "can't open the serial(com) port". Basically it would always fail.
I tried 5 different versions of Odin - 3.10, 3.9, 3.7, 3.04, 1.85. No luck, same errors.
I then tried uninstalling Kies, ending all processes related to it, and retrying Odin. Still no luck, getting the same serial(com) port error.
I then tried to use a "GT-9300.pit" file that I found online, in the PIT section of Odin. No luck
MY CURRENT SITUATION:
Having tried all of the above, my phone no longer enters recovery mode. When I boot my phone it goes to the following firmware upgrade error screen saying "Firmware upgrade encounteerd an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
It allows me to enter DOWNLOAD MODE, but not RECOVERY MODE. It loops in the same behaviour as previous screens. Even when on charge it shows this screen now.
I have tried my best to include everything I can so I can get more appropriate help. I do not have any experience with phones and I have tried everything I can by myself, hopefully someone here can help!
Long story,if you know what is Teamviewer i can help you. It would take long time to troubleshoot what you did wrong. Best thing would be to start from scratch.

Thank you so much for your offer to help!
I do know what Teamviewer is! I've used it for many years
I also have Skype and a webcam (for showing the phone), so that would be very useful too..
Ok,we don,t need Skype. It's not important for me to see the phone. I will tell you what to prepare, what to download so we can be fast and productive

The phone has successfully been flashed with a few different firmwares since the bootloop started occurring. the phone will only power on when the cable is plugged in but it will show the samsung screen and then start the "Installing system update" screen and then instantly go to "No command" and then boot back to the samsung screen to repeat the process. download mode is accessible but i cant get into recovery mode to reset the cache or perform a factory wipe.
The cable is fine and the usb port on the phone let me flash software via odin so i don't understand why it only powers on with a cable plugged in.
Could this be a battery issue? i'm very new to this website and the software end of phone repair stuff so any help is greatly appreciated!
i'm currently running 7.0 firmware G890AUCS7DRF2 from boxwares but the bootloop has been occurring since before i even tried to flash anything.
Also, all of my drivers seem to be up to date so i don't think that's posing any issues.
Thanks so much in advance!
Hi , try to clean the charging port of your phone with 100% alcohol and with clean toothbrush also you can use needle to clean the usb port contact.
Another what you can do is to put your phone into the charger for abot 30 minutes and see if your phone is become to hot on the back side what can be sign of bad charging port or probably dead battery .
Hi. I have a problem with a bricked Samsung Galaxy S7, SM-G930F (the Exynos one). A bought it a few years ago and let someone root it to play around with it. I got it back recently and it didn't turn on. I had the battery replaced which allowed me to turn it on, to a "no command" message. I got it into recovery mode. I chose "factory reset" to try to bring it back to a working state. That didn't help, so I booted into download mode and was able to flash the latest firmware; I made sure it was the correct one for this model. It would reboot to a screen with the Android logo and a message of "erasing" with rotating arrows on the Android that stopped after a few seconds. If I left it plugged in, it would stay like that indefinitely. If I unplugged it it would turn off within a few seconds. For a while I could still get it to come up in download mode, but now it does nothing no matter which buttons I press. No lights come on when I plug it into a USB charger, although a wireless charger seems to detect it as the charger's red LED comes on. Following advice on this forum for a bricked S8, I left it not charging for 24 hours to see if it would drain the battery completely, letting me try again. That didn't work; no matter how long I charge it or what buttons I press, nor whether it's plugged into the charger or computer or not, nothing happens. There's no way to tell if it is charging. I have evidence that it works since I was able to flash the firmware and that process went smoothly, but I can't get it back to that mode. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I flashed the stock firmware before the phone became unresponsive. Now I can't flash anything since none of the buttons have any effect. and the phone is not recognized by my PC.
@Doctor_Perceptron
If you can't access phone by means of Odin then with 99.9% certainty phone's boot-loader is broken. Put phone into e-waste.
If it was a Qualcomm device I'd be able to help you through EDL flashing. Since it's not I do believe your not able to flash it at this point as already said by the user above my reply
