For now I just want to be able have quicker access to deep settings like force dark mode on incompatible apps which is in USB debugging and I want a 5g/4g toggle switch. Are either of these possible with customizable ROM and root access? I've installed ROM'S a couple times before with past phones and liked all the added functionality. Just on the fence Atm. Have you with your s21 and what do you do it for?

Hi there,
i am currently running 4.1.2 on my HTC One X and i have the issue, that basically the fullscreen mode is working with all apps, BUT i have to enable it manually every now and then. This is annoying.
Is there any possibility, so that the Apps can remember that fullscreen is my preferred setting, and thus it is always enabled?
I already tried "Spare Parts" which should enable this, but it is not working. Or it really is only working with tablets.
Thanks
Hello,
Not sure what the actual term for these functions are: when the screen is off and you pick up the phone and swipe in any of 4 directions it will shortcut to homescreen, blinkfeed, last used app, ? and what you turn to landscape and press down volume it will go to camera.
Is there any way to change what these commands shortcut to? For example, swiping up to activate flashlight.
thanks
There is no way to change these sense functions without root - If I recall, even rooting you still can't change these options - just have to use a different launcher/rom
This is about as close as you are going to get to the answer you want..its a common feature among custom ROMs..its called screen off gestures..and yes you have to be rooted, and no you don't have to be s-off in order to root the device...its recommended to s-off if you want to do things to the firmware, but I'm not sure of your experience do I'll stick to your question...
The feature I screenshot is from Bliss ROM...
Hi all
I have used a rooted S2 ever since I got it. But with rooting being as it is right now and not wanting to lose fingerprint sensor, trip KNOX etc. I do not want to root for now.
Surprisingly I really like the samsung keyboard. However, just like any other keyboard I tried, it switches to fullscreen in landscape mode. Which on such a big screen is completely unnecessary and annoying.
Is there any way of disabling this without root access? Any way at all?
Thanks guys!... and gals
I would love to know also. ..
Can tasker be used to switch to floating keyboard in landscape?
probably only with root
Hi guys,
I'm using the smart lock/unlock feature on a Android 6 phone. But I can only select 30mins for the unlock-state, and smart unlock is very unrelyable.
My problem is that for using GooglePay, I have to set a lockscreen. But throughout the day I'd prefer having the screen always unlocked. Only in case I active NFC, I want the lockscreen to be active.
So maybe there is a way I could change the 'lock_screen_lock_after_timeout' settings to eg a couple of days (or even endless)?
Thanks
I faced the exact same issue.
I ended up following your suggestion and setting lock_screen_lock_after_timeout to several days.
It works, however the screen doesn't lock at all, which means when you press the power button you you will get straight to the launcher or whatever app was launched. Some people will be OK with it, but personnally I miss the "swipe to unlock" feature.
edit: I just noticed you are on Android 6. In that case, you could use Xposed in conbination with the lockscreen disabler module. It will let you disable the lock screen and trick Google pay into thinking it is enabled. It used to work great on my previous phone. Sadly, Xposed trips Safetynet so Google Pay will most likely refuse to work.
Can I use Xposed without root? Cause I don't want to root my phone just for that feature.
How did you set the property? Do you use any app?
The problem is, I know the property to be set, but I don't know how to achieve that
Hello, tell me please, how can I transfer some features from the stock firmware to custom/clean rom?
Like how does it work at all, is it possible to somehow transfer various functions from one firmware to another and what is needed for this?
For example, in LineageOS you can kill apps on long press back button/back gesture.
Asus Zenfone 8 stock rom have battery care feature, that can set charging limit + turn on steady charging. Tried Magisk module AAC, but I had problems with it and it did not work correctly for me.
There's also Asus stock has very vital feature for me: Quick settings panel style - switch between small circle or large pill(like on screenshot). I really hate this new large ugly pills which have appeared since A12. OmniROM has similar configuration that's allows you reduce these large pills, but this option not so flexible and in result it's still looks too ugly. Tried Power Shade app that can customize this panel and it's work, but it creates its own separate panel and the old one still remains. As a result, you immediately have two panels unfold when you pull it down. And that's horrible. And I didn't find another way to customize it, so only asus stock option work good...
