I'm on stock, realme ui 4.0 and april security patch.
In recent months I've struggled to get fast charge right away when I plug in the charger, but I've given it a couple of tries and always succeeded. From yesterday it's not been possible to get any fast charge. No matter how many times I've tried and retried. Any advice from the forum?
Try cleaning the charging port i had the same issue and after cleaning it works well

It could be an issue with the charging brick too. Try some trouble shooting by using another Fast Charger to check if your device is fast charging. Also try using your current charging brick to charge another phone with Fast Charge capabilities. By doing this you can figure out if the issue is with the Phone or the Charging Brick.

hello
now the phone is in a boot loop, what i've tried so far
-charging battry for 12 hrs
-hard rest
-flashing different roms
-trying a different battery
-removing sd card when booting
no luck
any suggestions?
thx
Few questions for you here:
First off, Are you in a boot loop with xdandroid or WinMo. If its WinMo check below. If it's Xdandroid try deleting data.img, and starting over.
1.. Did you task 29 before flashing the other roms.
2.. Are you charging from a usb, or wall charger. If you're using a usb, that very well may be part of the problem. Use a wall charger. This has been a known issue for these boot loop situations.
You also may have bad blocks, or another hardware issue. I seriously doubt that though.

Is this the boot loop where the phone starts to boot, and then within a few seconds it runs out of power and turns off, and then after a few seconds of charging starts to boot again and repeated infinitely?
If so, this can be cleared by leaving the battery out of your phone for a long time. Not exactly so sure how long it needs to be, but I did it for a day or two and that worked for me. There is some sort of memory chip in the battery that needs to get cleared out to prevent the phone from trying to start automatically.

When this happened to me what I did was connect it to a car charger for 20 mins or so then that gave it enough power to work from the wall. Idk y but it worked both times

I had the same problem 3 months ago.
After I tried much things to solve it, and that things didn't work, I send my TP2 back for garantue. That was the only way for me to fix it.
Good luck.

welcome and i dont why it did, maybe it had more power than a standard adapter but it worked flawlessly
External battery charger
This happened to me. The only solution was to buy an external battery charger. I found a universal li-ion charger at the local department store that could be adjusted to charge any brick style li-ion battery.

like i said i dont why it works but it does for some reason. im guessing the power supplied by the car adapter is greater than a standard wall one. also this dead battery issue just started resently for me so i dont know if its the kernel or system ext2
ya the car charger gives you 2 amps while the wall charger gives 1 amp, i thought that this only affect the charging time
I am glad you you were able to get it going. This happens fairly often for me when I let the battery get too low.
The stock charger just doesn't put out enough current. I switched to using my old iGo universal charger. I have tips for all of the family phones (plus a y adapter to charge 2 at once. I can charge fast at home or in the car, and it seems to be able to provide enough juice to keep the phone going even when tethering, which the stock charger can't.

Hello Edgers
As it says in the title, my GS6 edge is charging slowly after the last update.
It says fast charging, but it takes almost 3 hours to full.
Although it used to take 1 - 2 hours maximum to full.
-it's charging now - > reached 80% and it says 35m untill full -
35 minute at 80%!!! :crying::crying:
I tried another charger and it has the same problem. so either I have 2 broken chargers or the problem is in the phone.
Any ideas? or is it a common problem in charging after the update?

I tried blowing in it, but no result.
I also tried putting the phone into safe mode to make sure that it's not because of any app I installed but I also got no results.

I have the same issue, also not allways is detecting the Fast Charger.
As a workaround I let it charging slow for some seconds replug the cable and voila! Fast charging in the correct time...
It seems that is a common issue after Nougat update in a large number of devices prior to S8... (If you search in google you could see it)
The kernel is the culprit to choose the method of charge, and for whatever reason is not choosing/doing correctly...
Some people say that wiping the system cache from recovery helps (not my case)
Hi
I'll put my G5 on charge and it will start to fast charge like normal then after a few minutes stop and go to just charging, if I pull the cable out the phone and plug it back in, it will usually still not fast charge sometimes it does first time tho but normally I'll have to do that 3 or 4 times to get it to fast charge again and usually it then fast charges normally till the battery if fully charged.
I thought it was the cable as it was on it way out it had a internal break where it would stop charging or go to normal charging at times so ordered a replacement cable same make (choetech 6ft) I've been using for over a year now and a juicebitz 9ft one and there both doing the same and I even tried the original cable and that's doing it too so it's not the cable.
I've cleaned the usb port no change, I've factory reset no change, can't remember when this first started as I thought it was the cable but I think it could of been around the time of the last update but can't be sure on that could of easily been just before.
What to try next could it be a charger fault, a faulty bottom module/ usb port, battery fault or a fault with the phone itself?
Any help would be appreciated.
I have same issue with my phone after last update.
That's good know not good that your having the same issue I mean good to know it's not a hardware problem.
I've seen a couple of posts after I starting this thread in the v20i update thread from users with the same problem so it looks like it's a software issue I can stop stressing about it as there's nothing I can do about it.
I did a search before posting and must of missed it or used the wrong terms in my search.
I just hope they will fix that in next update (oreo)

So do I it's part of what I hate about updates they fix things but just as often break something else.
same here. its turning to normal after minutes and when you plug it again its fast charging for a short time. LG g5 is a headace. My disappointment.
I have the exact same issue with my H-850 I even went to the extent of sending the phone in for repairs under the warranty. They replaced the mainboard and the bottom module but the problem still persists, its either the battery or software, my money is on the software
Had the BLA-09 8.0.0.148 (C432) and noticed that I seems all my super charger are not that super anymore.. Neither my huawei car super charger nor the provided oem supercharger show up as supercharging when plugging in. Anybody else having that issue?
Same firmware here and Super Charge is still active (Huawei original charger). Do you use the original provided USB cable ?
The superscharge seems to swich on for a while when plugging in, but after a short time (minute, perhaps a few) it switches to normal charge in car and on charger. Also happened on previous firmware.
yep both times it's original Huawei cable. (though I should mention that usb c seems to lose it's catch and pops out easily since a few days)

When the battery is is almost drained I charge 55% in 30 minutes. It slows down after battery hits 70% but that's normal.

To prevent overheating the phone may charge slower (like when you use it for gaming and charge it the same time, it's very slow)
It would still display it as supercharging though

A guy on the italian forums is reporting the same after updating to B148!
I would try with a factory reset and eventually a new cable.
Cache wiping worked for me. I now got the car charger we eking again. Will check the home charger tonight.
Quick update. Cache wipe fixed the issue all super charger are now super again.

I experienced this multiple times with my device and it will come back, cache wiping has probably not fixed your problem but time has.
I will bring my phone to a service center tomorrow, I'm sick of this happening over and over.
If this happens once, chances are high it will happen again (and yes, I wiped cache multiple times).
Update to this:
I visited a Huawei service center today and the technician told me that this happens with a lot of Mate 10 Pro devices.
What causes the problems is dust/dirt.
The technician used a metal tool first and then compressed air.
Supercharge and headphones now work again.
So, if this happens to you, you probably have to clean your port, but be careful since you could break the port.
The technician also advised me to buy some sort of dust cover for the device so that this problem doesn't happen so fast again.
Wow! I have never seen my phone explicitely says it's in supercharge mode in 5 month or so I own it! Oo
But charge was quick at 2A

I cleaned mine too now and I can certainly say that I now have much tighter sitting usb c cables. So cleaning it out is certainly the way to go, wether supercharge works or not.
Hmmm. I have had this issue too. My phone stopped supercharging but it also stopped allowing me to transfer data with a cable to my computer (or to my drone remote control). I cleaned it alot, but no effect. I ordered a new port assembly and replaced it. Now, it will supercharge for about a minute, but then it goes back into normal charging mode. While looking in the battery app, it would fluctuate between charging modes until deciding to charge normal. I've wiped the cache, but still doesn't help. Any further input??
Hi guys
I noticed that after receiving the latest update and installing it about a week now, my phone is overheating a lot while charging, a problem which I never encountered before this update for about 6 months of usage.
Is it just me or everybody?
Every phone is getting hot while charging it, but if you are using it while charging it gets hot. Also it matters if you have QuickCharge charger or Xiaomi charger that comes with your phone.

Hi thanks for answering
Yes I have been using quick charge and I always turn off my phone before plugging it to the wall. But this happened exactly after the update. I hope that it'll settle by its own or receive another update to fix this issue. Maybe a Factory Reset will solve it, but I don't want to do that yet until I am sure there is nothing else I can do.

I think factory reset won't gonna solve that problem. Mayby try installing custom rom or change kernel if you have unlocked bootloader or just download Stock rom and install it using fastboot (also needed to unlock bootloader)
Btw I'm using quick charge and my phone gets hot but im not using it while charging due to safety and destroying battery life. (im on stock rom 10.2.1.0)
