Question How to Disable Annoying System UI notifications? - Redmi Note 10

Hello
When I drag down from the top, there is always a slew of pointless and annoying notifications, I thought I'd turned them off but they persist, like this one that appears every day:
"System UI
SD card
Tap to safely remove device"
Why does it keep reminding me I have an sd card and offering me to remove it? I've literally only just put it in - now I never want to hear about it again!
I'll remove the sd card at the end of my phones life, until then, I dont care about it.
These system messages are annoying AF! Can i disable them for good?
Thanks.

** sorry I don't have a Redmi Note 10, I just have a Redmi 10.

App loading problem

Is anyone else having this problem, sometimes when pressing on a storage card installed app's icon to load it, it is endlessly loading and after 2-3mins you get a windows unable to run message.
If yes, is there a solution for that, except installing everything in phone memory ?
Which App do you mean exactly, or are these everybody of the SD card?
Any app randomly at some point it will crash like this and when the msg comes if you try again the app loads normaly. I read somewhere about this problem but can't find it again...

sorry, have unfortunately no idea for this problem
good luck
Thanx anyway for your interest, appreciate it
try a different memory card/rom ... try a different memory card if u have one at hand , or a rom if u dont have one at hand , u will then know whats causing it
Same here, everything appears to be fine then out of the blue you tap start and tap on any application that is on the SD card and I just get the wait cursor forever and there is nothing you can do but reset.
Whats strange is this happened last night and I pressed reset but it did not reset (maybe just pressed lightly) then it bleeped and said the application could not be found.
I just thought it was me
Me too, on supplied SD card.
I suspect the SD card falls asleep and isn't instantly accessible so leads to this error which causes the 2 or 3 minute hang. I've recently been ensuring I access the SD with a file manager program to wake it up before launching the app I want. I haven't had the error yet when using this pattern.
I might write a launcher program that wakes up the SD card prior to launching the intended app if it continues to look like a sleeping SD card is the cause of the problem.
I first thought it was a problem with .NET programs on the SD card as it's my self-written programs that I use most on the SD card. This is still a possible (but now lesser) suspect for me
Everyone has this problem ... and if you don't ... yer fricken lucky ehhehehe.
Take a look all over the TG01 forums. This problem along with other SD card related problems exist everywhere you go. Now I have owned both the TG01 and the T01a. I don't recall this problem existing on the T01a from DOCOMO. Unfortunately, I couldn't sim unlock the T01a, so I sold it for an unlocked TG01.
My friend, if you could write a launcher to "wake up" the SD card, that would be VERY much appreciated by literally everyone on this forum.
Thank you.... very much in advance,
-Kili.
PS: Something nifty. I have installed everything that runs as a service or consistently in memory on my main memory, and I even use all wallpapers from main memory and make sure that all cashing takes place on the main memory. It hasn't frozen for a few hours now. Even coming out of sleep mode, everything is A-OK.

Yeah thought of doing that but never did cause i soft reset quite often and i want my stuff in storage so i don't lose them.. With the 6.1 rom I don't get this very often, in fact an app stack yesterday after almost two weeks that i'm using this rom. I'm thinking maybe it was also because in 6.5.x roms i used changed icons for apps that were all in storage also, whereas in 6.1 i didn't find any way to change icons, so i'm using the stock ones. Anyway i'm happy at least i don't get it often.
Holy crap! It really really worked.
Well.... holy crap! I loaded up Resco Explorer, open up my SD Card, "Woke it up" so to speak. Then I can use the programs on my SD Card without fear. I think there is a definite work around here, we need someone to come up with a "SD Wake-up" program for the TG01, I would do it myself but I would probably brick everyone's devices in the process ehehehehheehhe(I don't know how to program)! Thank-you so much LesForges. You da man for coming up with the easy-yet-impossible-for-kili-to-find workaround/solution.
I haven't had this problem occur in one day now. My phone has been rock solid... it is a miracle! Honestly .. I feel a certain peace inside.
Guys seriously we need to get the word out about this solution. We can use this and probably overcome this horrible annoying error with a simple application!

I'm feeling you
Allright... I can't program, BUT I CAN DAMN SURE MIX N' MASH... ohh yeah
All-right, what is the one problem that plagues all of our devices? THE "SD CARD" sleep mode/app loading problem/freezing for no reason/and generic crappiness of the Toshiba SD CARD drivers.
And for you lucky few that haven't got a clue what I am talking about ... this goes out to you... "SKREW YOU EHHEEHEH mahthafa'&Az, I HATE YOU.... ya lucky basterd skum" (Just kidding of course) eheheheh
Needless to say, some people this doesn't seem to effect, others, this is a nightmare, so much so, I have contemplated selling my beautiful device before finding this. The Windows Mobile 6.1 rom solved so many problems for me, but still this one SD Freeze after Sleep mode problem persisted... This is how I overcame the issue.
First of all... what is the problem... the problem is easily duplicated if you go into sleep mode, wait a couple of minutes, then your sd card goes to sleep, then turn the device back on and run a program or application that is installed on the sd card. Your device will freeze and if it didn't freeze this time, try it a few more times... it will freeze. To overcome this issue, as stated above, go into Resco Explorer and open up the SD Card and then your SD Card has been "woken up" so to speak and then everything is good again. But how does one automate the process? You must do this.
Install S2U2 - Swipe to Unlock 2, after configuring it, go into the "STU2 Settings", then go to "Others" in the options area, then point it to Resco Explorer. Now the nifty thing about Resco Explorer is that you have the option have it default to open in any directory that you desire. So of course, set it to "\Storage Card" ... that's all. So basically whenever your device goes to sleep, it will automatically open up the SD Card once you want to use your device again, so it will never catch you off-guard again. The problem is solved. Now.. for the next item, I really want to just close Resco Explorer as soon as I open it, can one make an executable batch file in Windows Mobile? Then all our problems are truly solved. I notice that I have to hover in the SD Card area for about 3 seconds for the icons in the root directory to populate. I assume you need to have Resco Explorer kinda on a timed delay.. So you use Swipe to Unlock 2 and then it should open up Resco for about 3 seconds and then quit. I don't want to minimize Resco, I really want to quit it so if the device goes into sleep mode again, then it is already set for next time. I notice the icons are cashed in memory wen I leave the program open, so I always have to go up and down a couple of directories in order to "Wake Up" the card.
If someone knows how to make some kind of script that would open up my Resco for a couple of seconds and then close it, man that would sure be appreciated. Thank you.

Class 10 Kingston
So... I just got my 16Gb Class 10 Kingston in the mail... I will let everyone know if it also solves this problem. I assume it will not fix the problem but hey if I can get a little more speed out of my device then I am happy. I will post my results later.
**UPDATE** [21:59 - 2010/06/17] - Tokyo Time
Tried my Kingston 16 Gb Class 10, but to no avail, problem still persists. So just stick with the above solution.

Do you know MORTSCRIPT? I think that this is exactly what you are looking for...
Unfortunately I'm just a beginner on this program.
Although the above solution would probably work (and so does navigating to the app and running the EXE directly), my preferred solution is just to install everyting in main memory. Its annoying to loose a feature like that, I know, but so far all of the apps I've wanted to install on the SD card came to a total of about 10MB, so its a lot easier just to install them in main memory and be done with it.
Maybe someone could write a mortscript to read the contents of a text file in the root of the SD card before lanching the chosen app?
I believe Schap's advanced config 3.3 will do the trick
http://www.touchxperience.com/en/applications/view.download/11/21.html
It has lots of settings and tweaks
Just goto power management and disable SD card
It worked for me
Holy crap! #2.... and I mean a big #2 Holy Crap!
Wow.. if this works... I will report back later, right now I am testing it. I will let everyone know if it works, but if the SD Card doesn't go into sleep mode, then this problem is totally solved.... WOW! I will check back later and let everyone know.
[Update - 12:36pm - Tokyo Time]
No freeze as of yet, Schap's advanced config v3.3 has done the job. However my activesync is now disconnecting after 5 minutes of being connected to the computer, it is still charging but it just disconnects. So, I assume it has something to do with installing Shaps, it is not a big deal. To fix it, I went into the power options in Schap's advanced config v3.3 and I disabled the power saving feature for "AsyncMAC". So hopefully that will do the trick. Another interesting fix is for the icon disappearing problem. There really is only one solution that I can find that works in both windows mobile 6.5 and 6.1. Go and change the icons using an icon changer and have the icons stored locally and not on the SD Card. Then everything is fine, then you now have a perfect device.
That is all she wrote my friends, we now have working devices. Really we need to make a sticky for these two fixes. This needs to be implemented into every rom, this is the biggest problem for our devices and they have been solved by the good members on this board, I wish i could take credit for something, however heheheheh, I can't. Wafeeq YOU ARE AWESOME. Thanks man for the suggestion.
Freezing Problem - "Schap's Advanced Config v3.3" - http://www.touchxperience.com/en/applications/view.download/11/21.html - Go to power management and disable the power saving feature for the SD Card.
Missing Icons Workaround for WM 6.1 - "SK Shortcut Manager" - http://www.s-k-tools.com/index.html?sksmgr/m_sksmgr.html - One needs to change the icons for programs installed on your SD Card, remember, use icons located in the main memory and not on the SD Card.
Missing Icons Workaround for WM 6.5 - "JWMD Icon Changer" - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567080 - Again, one only needs to change the icons for programs installed on your SD Card, use icons located in the main memory and not on the SD Card.
Thats it... fricken awesome shizenziebittle I am so ecstatic right now. Everything is done, I can just enjoy my device now. Yai.

If the SD Card doesn't go into sleep mode, that means that it's always draining current from battery. Please confirm battery consume

[Q] How to configure vibration/App install location

Hi, I think I'm just being obtuse now by not finding the answer to my 2 current issues. If somebody can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.
Problem 1: When managing apps, there is a button that either say "Move to Phone" or "Move to Media Area". What does either mean? There are some inconveniences that results from having an app in the media area. So I was wondering how many storage space I have on my "Phone" and how do I make app install there on default.
Problem 2: My phone, which is stock, doesn't seem to vibrate on email/text messages. And since my phone is on vibrate most of the day and I communicate mostly by text. You can see how it is a problem. Is there anyway around it?
Again, thank you in advance for the help!

Problem #1: your phone should automatically install apps to the phone. The media area is the phone's internal SD card. There's 3gb phone storage and 7gb "media area" or internal SD storage.
Problem #2: you need to go into the settings in your email and messaging apps to enable vibration when you get and email or text.

Thanks, problem 2 is solved! I'm coming over from iOS so I have this concept that text vibration should be somewhere inside overall settings area. Never considered text to be an "app" with its own setting. Boneheaded move on my part.
Problem 1 is still there. Some app seems to default to "media area" and I'm not sure why. I don't think my phone is full as I seem to be able to move those manually to the phone. For example, one app that constantly install to the media area is Mantano Reader. I would move the app to the phone but everytime there's an update it would go back to the media area and I was wondering if there's a way to defaulting it to the phone. I think it's completely arbitrary... Minecraft installs to the media area by default, Bible and Fruit Ninja installs to the phone.. Really puzzled by this.
Thanks for the help on Problem 2 though, really appreciate it!
I like reading these post sometimes, I never had neither of your problems and I'm stock.
#1. I did not do anything, but everything goes to SD Card.
#2. Again, I did not do anything, but upon getting e-mail, text, whatever.........phone virbrates once and the green notification lights comes on? (Me and my daughter got into it about her iPhone, no light or notification)
Thanks to braindead for the tip, maybe I will look back and see.............
I'm stock too(until somebody release a stable ICS rom). And I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Just for fun, I installed mantano reader to see what happens. It went directly to media area, and I have everything set to go to phone. So it's not just you.
I also noticed I have a couple other apps that have defaulted to the media area. I think some apps are just set up to do that by the developer, and my guess is that it has something to do with the amount of storage space the app requires (my two apps were Sims 3 and mear, both of which can take up some major storage space).
I don't know how to force the app somewhere else without being rooted. If you're rooted, you can use ROM toolbox to choose the default install location, or some other app2SD solution I'm sure.

Aww, that's unfortunate. Thanks all around!

[Q] How do you get rid of all the extra persistent icons in the bottom bar area?

I have persistent ones for my two memory cards, plus the dock and keyboard notifications. Add to that the dual battery indicators, when docked, and it takes up a ton of space. I'll get a few emails from different email accounts, and a few auto app updates notifications, and the bottom bar is almost completely populated.
Anybody know if there's a way to get rid of these memory card and docked notifications, once they first appear? You should be allowed to just acknowledge the notification, and it would go hidden... Is that possible??
Thanks in advance!

i've tried to get the one for the sd card to go away but i dont think you can, it's so stupid, you can feel the sd card sticking out it's not like you need something constantly reminding you and i didn't know it did it for the dock why does it have to tell you that it's pretty obvious if you ask me.
I could be wrong but I think it is a rom thing. I remember from flashing Roms on my Gtablet that one of the devs removed the annoying reminder about the sd card. So we can hope that a dev can chime in and it could be done.
yea it's rom based, so you'd need a custom rom that removes that tweak

[Q] A few problems I'm having

I went to talk on the phone, and the screen of my device was hot enough to make me sweat a bit. What could be the cause of this?
I played a bit of Grand Theft Auto 3 (which is a bit laggy, btw, which is surprising taking into account a great processor, 2GB of ram, and the great graphics card (for a phone) in this phone...)
Also, the touchscreen has gotten a bit iffy on the second day of use. It will sometimes think I click a button in the middle of swipe texting, and sometimes will think I click an application when I am changing screens.
Are these normal problems? This is my first Android phone (I was on iPhone for a long time before this)
Also, apps don't seem to install on my 64GB SD Card, is there a way to change this?
Finally, sometimes my phone will not be able to get to 100% brightness, because it says of a temperature issue.

Make sure you close background apps, when my phone gets the warmest its when I have a ton of things running or I've just downloaded a lot of stuff. Also, the screen brightness thing is a safeguard apparently, its fairly common from what I've read in other threads but I've never personally had it happen to me. As for apps onto SD, It typically isn't supported anymore, Google thought it would "confuse users".

Haha, I close apps like crazy. Although it seems GTA3 always runs, even after clicking "Clear RAM" or going into Task Manager and clicking "Stop All", there is a notification saying it is running.
And ah, well, I can live with the brightness thing, I was just curious.
Finally, is there a way around that? I bought a 64GB SD Card specifically because of apps... Spotify puts music on my internal 16GB storage... which makes it no different than my iphone in that regard, lol.
Oh, and is it dangerous to go into Settings -> General -> Applications -> All, select one of the AT&T apps, and click Disable to hide them? Or will that do something different/unanticipated to my phone?
Gta 3 runs good for me the phone just gets hot lol

As of right now, I have no idea of a way to put apps onto an SD card. I don't think it's possible anymore, I use my card for music, I've only got like 4gbs worth of apps on my phone but I don't keep my big games on it, I use my tablet for those. You can disable all of the AT&T apps, it won't cause any system issues.if GTA always seems to always be running then maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling it. I had to do that a few times with it on my nexus 7.

Oh wait, I just remembered, you can't kill GTA like a regular app. You have to actually go into the main menu of the game and exit. Its weird but that's probably why your phone is so warm all of the time lol

Yea, up to 64gb. I bought the SanDisk 64GB Class 10 MicroSDXC card from Amazon, and, formatted as Fat32 (On SnowJB), it reads fine. On ICS, it read it even as exFAT (I think that is it's default at least. I had to reformat the card as fat32 so it could read it in SnowJB)

Samsung Galaxy S5 continually mounts and dismounts microSD card for no reason

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with update 6.0.1 with the latest security patch level applied 11/1/16. Recently my microSD card status will go between two indicators in the notification bar: 1) SD card - For transferring photos and media, or 2) SD card was removed, please insert a new one. In both cases the same micro SD card remains in the phone. When I receive the message that the card has been removed, I can click on Storage in the Settings menu and see that only internal storage appears. At some point the SD card will reappear with the message from #1. I can restart my phone, I can turn it off and back on again, etc. but none of those things seem to alter the phone status of identifying that an SD card exists in the phone. It's quite annoying especially when I want to take photos or am transferring data from internal storage to the SD card when it suddenly becomes "removed". However, again, the change from being considered installed/mounted or missing/removed will happen at any time whether I'm using my phone or not. I've started to wonder whether I picked up a virus by visiting a site while reading news through the Google Play Newstand., which I've been doing a lot lately,.. but I've installed/uninstalled at least 5 different anti-virus/malware software and nothing is identifying a problem on my phone. AVG, McAfee, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
The only other oddity I have noticed about the same time is that I have Verizon Protection and Support which suddenly acted like I had never used it before and made me agree to the terms of use again - once I say ok to the terms, it returns that it cannot access data and try again later. Nothing I have done related to that software has worked and Verizon's only suggestion is to factory reset in which some users indicated that did not resolve the problem.
Has anyone else experienced either of these issues and found resolutions? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Try Using your device without SD card for some time and then put that chip again. If the situation persist try wiping Cache of Your phone.
There is probably to many webdavs using all your cu. Obtrusive. To root or not to root. Providers say that root is what causes issues of vulnerability. You get these problems ether way but you can only fix with root.
What ever the problem is formatting your car should straighten it out. If you don't want to arrange your files a quick fix for webdav is to use root explorer. Search for "nomedia"and delete them all. Hopefully only apps you want have a good enough grip to put them back.

Thank you. I don't know how long you mean for "some time" but I did for about 30 minutes. I did use McAfee to clear app cache to free up space but I just checked and my current message is "SD card removed. Insert a new one" so apparently that didn't do it. I' did not allow it to clear thumbnails though.

Well, until now I considered myself fairly tech savvy... but I am not sure what webdavs are or what it means to root or not. Is root explorer software? And then, the next question is where would I search for "nomedia"? If you'd rather I do more research on these myself I can do that, no worries... but if they are easy enough to explain that would be great. Thanks so much!

Some time means at least a day.
And wiping Cache here I meant Clear the Entire Phone's Cache through Recovery
Good browsers have a search bar in them. A web dav is a network connection to a folder. If it is causing your card not to work now than likely it was put there by a demon and you want it gone. If you don't know what root is then you are a long ways out from putting up a fight. The only thing I could really advise you to do is do a factory reset that includes formatting the card. If you do ever decide to root be very careful the method.
