Full Battery Sound. - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi there,
I heard a sound on someones XDA when the battery was fully charged a voice said, "your battery is fully charged" I thought it was really cool. Any idea where i can get this sound from and how i can add it to my XDA?
Im new to my XDA and am still learning how to get around it. But im REALLY impressed so far!!

What you're referring to is an application called Battery Pack. You can find it on most of the software download sites (e.g. PocketGear).
rgds,
Alex.

[Q] Swype Battery

Hey guys,
i've searched the forum but cant find a whole lot regarding this topic. Its really more of a "whats your opinion" question rather than a "whats the answer to this" type of question. Anyways, I just started using Swype, thought it was pretty cool but did notice it in the battery usage at a very low percent. Just curious to who uses it and if anyone experiences drain because of it. Thanks guys!
i haven't used swype in a while but i dont recall there being much of a battery drain, unless the latest update causes this.

I am using it and I like it a lot. I am actually using a beta so I have the latest updates. I don't type all day on my phone but I don't feel like it's a battery hog. What drained my battery was the common culprits like my email client checking all the time and so forth. There are treads on battery hogs. Surprisingly, I found that PowerAmp had a nasty habit of doing something even if it was off. Also, programs that you (or at least I) would never think of, like Officesuite, kept doing stuff on their own even though I had only installed them and never used them. I found that a good way of identifying these bad guys is by checking wakelocks in betterbatterystats. cheers.

[Q] Show Us Ya Battery Life

Gday Guys,
Just got round to CM7 - and its siiick!
My question to you guys is...
"Show Us Ya Battery Life"?
I use my Tablet most of the day, from 9 till 5, during this time i'm on the internet, reading comics/books and listening to music.
Generally by 6pm my battery life is at 52%
52%... Is that good, bad, average?
What do you think?
Steve x
There are already a couple of CM7 battery related threads. Please go delve into them rather than starting yet another thread. Thanks =)

[Q] ICS Battery full-charge sound not playing

Hi,
Since I have updated to ICS (DXLP7), I have not once heard the battery full-charge sound. Has anybody else noticed this too? I kinda liked the notification... and would remove the phone from charger based on the cue.
Is there any way to bring it back?
I checked by playing some sounds in /system/media/ui, the sound file is present by the name of /system/media/ui/TW_Battery_caution.ogg. Only it doesn't seem to play on 100% charge anymore, even though the notification appears!
Thanks
I miss the alert since moving to ICS too. Definitely better for most people with it not being there, but would have liked to see it as an option.
I set up Tasker to play the alert on battery full - not the same (especially if you don't have Tasker), but was the easiest way for me.
There are many battery app from play store which provides this functionality
Lol, few months back people were getting crazy that this thing messed with their sleep and want to get rid of it....now....... Humans don't get Happy with anything!

[Q] SGS2 vs GSM GNEX battery life - is this normal?

Just wondering if the differences in the two are normal.
I owned a SGS2 for a long time, and the battery would sometimes be just awful. There were days when it would drain 1% on standby, and then days when it was like 5-7% on standby - which is pretty bad for not using the phone at all.
I finally gave up on non-nexus phones and got myself a gnex and its freaking awesome. On a typical day, i leave for work at 7, and get home at 3 with 70% left - with some use.
I switched back to my SGS2 to see if there was still a difference even when running a newer/better rom, and battery life still seems pretty bad. I was at my other job today, and my Gnex will usually drain 15% over 8 hours, today my SGS2 drained 70%
Is this normal? I have bbs and cpu spy installed, and will post results after work tomorrow if anyone is interested.
I was planning on giving this to my mom as her first smartphone (i thought the lower DPI would be better for her eyes), but now im thinking i should just sell this, and then use whatever i get to put towards a Gnex.
Next time man just post one thread regarding your questions and issue. No need to make one here and one in general. And to answer your question about battery life it depends what rom yer running and what apps u have installed. And I suppose how u use the phone as well, referring to whether u listen to tons of music or mainly for calling, either way good luck, happy flashing.

Identical everything with the exception that the SGS2 is AOKP, and the Gnex is paranoid android. When i installed AOKP on my SGS2, i literally sat there and made it so both phones look about identical - with the exception of rom specific things like the notification menu and stuff like that. Same apps, same settings, same homescreen setup, etc etc etc.
All things being equal - is the gnex that much better on battery life?

Antutu Benchmark

14,520 on Antutu.
Very impressive for a stock device! I guess this would certainly explain why this phone is so snappy! Without question, this is the smoothest phone I have ever owned. On the downside, I'm sure this is also why the battery life leaves a lot to be desired.
Now I'll just anxiously await the ROMs that can help save my battery. Fingers crossed...

Nice bro.
Once they release the Unlock, then we'll be able to root and get that score higher just by deleting all of that Verizon and Amazon crap...
It's extremely unneeded, but I want to see this beast get overclocked to see how high we can get these benchmarks to go.

I'm using a Nextel i830. I must have posted in the wrong forum... Good catch.
C'mon, the device I'm using is clearly listed in the signature you copied to your own reply. That being said, you mention that the 'battery is great' on your DNA. Would you mind elaborating on how you use it? I recognize that you are a developer, and if you are actually trying to help, I'm very curious what the differences are. Maybe I have a faulty device??
- Do you keep wifi on all day?
- Same for bluetooth?
- What about data usage? 4G, etc?
- Is GPS on or off?
- Do you have any apps set to sync automatically?
- Made many phone calls?
- Watched any movies?
- Surfed the net?
Etc...
Yesterday at around 2PM (after posting the benchmark), I had to run to Comcast to swap out my modem. When I saw the line, I thought I was at the DMV. The sign said 'Now serving #24'; I had just pulled # 81. At that time, my phone had been off the charger for approximately 6 hours. I looked at my phone and had 39% battery left, so I figured what the heck, I'll watch some video and let time pass. I use a Bose BT2 headset which is typically intended for phone calls, but it works very nicely for media also, so I used it while I watched The Office on the Xfinity app. About halfway through the 3rd episode (approximately 55 minutes), the phone died completely. Barely 7 hours of use on a fully charged battery. Oh, how a replaceable battery would have come in handy during the last half hour of my wait.
When the phone is on, I absolutely LOVE IT, though I am quickly losing faith in this phone's ability to satisfy my wants and desires in an electronic device. I think I may return to the RAZR Maxx, though I would really miss having Sense... I'll give it another week; I must be missing something, right?? I sure hope so. :fingers-crossed:
