HELP: iMov on WM2003... Anyone got it working? - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Curious, does anyone have iMov working on WM2003? I can't seem to get logged on. I created an ID on jabber.org and can connect via the desktop, but not via iMov. I enter the username and password, press connect and nothing happens. I can get on the internet, with no problem. I can use the MSN application with no problems. I'm thinking that it must be an issue with iMov, but curios if others are having issues too.

yup same prob with thw rom version.
But if you DL the version from their website and
install it over the rom version it works.

reinstall from DL worked for me too - thanks

I had exactly the same problem! "cannot run timewizard.exe" appeared every time i tried to get off stand-by. Most propably you followed directions in this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480&page=10.
Try doing the same thing again(flashing pdaviet3). Start by rerunning enableRAPI(in short follow directions described in the flash tool contained in the above post). I did the same thing and everything went ok second time. Then, i did a hard reset(after i took a backup), by going "start->settings->clear storage".
Hope this helps
I can't reflash if i cant connect to active sync. unless you know a different way...

Most propably, you need ActiveSync 4.5 Beta 2 (Download it easily from M$ site). WM6 doesn't wotk with ActiveSync 4.2. Try it and keep us posted
first time i tried to connect it told me I had to install activesynch 4.4+ or 4.5+ or something, so i dl'd it but i had to run out for a few hours.
So when i got home, still no luck. It starts to detect but then it just wont connect.
Well since i just "cleared storage" things have been working now
I got that timewizard error once but it closed itself real fast, also now get my contact list up
wont know if active sync works for another 8 hours =/ just got to work.

At least things are working now. Activesync beta, becomes unstable sometimes and it fails to connect to the PPC(as you describe). The only solution for me, is to reinstall it(not a big problem for me), but anyway... it's still beta(as all M$ products )

Very very low system

Hello,
I have a big problem to solve. A friend updated a ROM without unlocking. I really dont know what he did.
But, I noticed that the Wizard have a ROM, but the system is too slow to connect via activesync.
I wanna use the WST but I cant connect.
Can someone of you tell me how can I do to connect via WST, to fix this problem?

Need Help, Activesync Problem and ROM update/upgrade.

hi, I have two problem I need help w/.
1. I've installed activesync on my PC but it doesn't seem to recognize the phone. on the phone there an connected icon, but when I use the program to connect it, it couldn't recognize the phone. I think it is connected via mass storage. how can I fix this.
2. there's a new ROM for the HTC S743 on HTCs support page. I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade/update my S740 to the S743's ROM. since it is newer, there might be some improvement. can someone please tell me how to do this. I also can't seem to download the new ROM on the support page even thou I've entered my S/N. can some download it and send it to me? thanks
1. RTFM. Change it like that: Start - Settings - Connections - More - USB to PC
2. Can't help you with that, I've got the S740 and my S/N isn't working for the download...

Wifi sharing without root? (Solved)

Ok I'm trying to figure this out sorry if this has been covered before I did a search and couldn't find the awnser to my problem.
This is my situation. My gf does not want to root her phone, But wants to use her phone while I'm gone to connect to her phones web.
I looked up on google and tried to download kies 1.5.3 because I found a method that allows you to connect via usb. Well i cant find the download at all for kies 1.5.3 So what I need is either to connect via usb or wifi sharing app.
So could anyone that either has the kies downloaded share it please?
Or, could you share the apk for wifi sharing please?
Thanks in advance.
I know there is an app in the market that says you can use it to tether your phone's data connection to a computer or whatever. It is $9.99 though. It does claim to be able to work without root. I have not used it, but wanted to let you know I have seen it. If you try it and it works, let us know, I am curious.
Try it right away and if it does not work, then you can get your refund within 15 minutes.
Thank you, You wouldn't know what the name is would you?
The specific one I am thinking of is called EasyTether. however I just put "tether" into the Market search and it brings up a few, some free some not, that claim to work without root. The easytether app even has a free "lite" version you can try out.
Good luck!
Ok sweet downloading it now. I'll post back to let you guys know how it works.
Thank you very much!
Ok, At the momment I'm using easytether to post this. I must say it works just as stated. Thank you once again I'm going to continue to test it out.
Hey that's awesome. My wife also does not want her phone rooted, so will use this if she needs to tether. Thanks for being the guinea pig!
Cheers
Hey guys Easy tether works great. Thats what I used before I rooted and installed custom roms on my phone months ago.
Edit: you said wifi sharing, Easy Tether is usb tethering which is much better because wifi tethering kills you battery quick.

To WiFi tether without root you're going to need a firmware that has the MobileAP application already installed. That will either require Odin, or root so that's out. Other than that you can easily usb tether without root. Don't even need special software if the system is running XP, Vista, or 7. See link below

The Q&A section is his friend too, which is why he posted here. He was provided assistance, and followed up on the help he was given advising us of the result. This thread topic, for now, has been resolved. No further googling is necessary.
I did find this in a search but, I was unable to connect with kies 2.0. I tried to find kies 1.5.3 but everywhere I looked I had to pay or do a long sign up to obtain it. Samsungs site only offers 2.0 which wouldn't allow my gfs phone to connect. I finally downloaded kies mini 1.0. I was able to connect finally but, the mini version doesn't have any option to tether via usb. She has used it most of the night and it works great. So at this point till she let's me root her phone and install cwm and a custom Rom,
This method is working great. For 9.99 I really can't complain as it works wonderfully for her. Once again thanks guys for all your help.

Edit: Just to make it clear the phone is being used to usb tether internet. The laptop at that time can now produce a wifi signal thus connecting other devices through wifi.

MirrorLink just won't work

I am using a Galaxy S9+ running the latest version of SoldierROM (PIE, rooted) and I have been trying to use MirrorLink for a while now but it just refuses to work.
When I connect my phone to my car and choose MirrorLink, a couple of prompts pop-up that I accept and then the certificate fails to download.
I have tried updating to Android 10 and doing that, but the certificate still fails. Is it because I am rooted?
Someone posted about the same issue on XDA, but none of the solutions posted worked for me.
Thanks, guys!

Hi, try this:
Go to the app mirrorlink 1.1 and there to the storage. Here you Clear the data and the cache. Then connect once again your mobile with the car. The should ask for download again new fresh certificates. Not every time it works for every app, but then start again.
Hope it will help!

Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortunately, I tried that many times without success, so I am assuming it might have to do with my device always being flagged as rooted even when I restore everything to stock.
I have the same phone with the same problem... did you manage to fix it?
Same issue over here. It would be nice to have a fix for this.
Now that Samsung wisely decide to drop support for MirrorLink, is there any work around this?
I have Note 9 and I just bought my frist car. It was jaw droping to see how bad samsung is! I just connect my phone I see certificate download error for MirrorLink 1.1.
