I'm also very interested in what people are running/getting to work:
I'm currently my iMate at:

SDRAM: 132.70 Mhz
PXBus : 264. Mhz
Using PXA255
MemClk: 1
Refresh Cycles on 8
I might be going crazy but it seems to run faster if I change the memclk to 1/2, (which drops the SDRam to 66Mhz). Not sure why that would be

Have you seen the reviews on PPC Thoughts and the recent article on Mtekk IT Services? Mike, the reviewer, states how he configured his. He metions that at times slower speed is faster. What a paradox.

What's your EVDO speed?

Saw this on ppcgeeks, I was wondering what xda users' speeds were (rev a or not) on their titan...
www.dslreports.com/mspeed (1mb test)
1603k
opera mini
rev a. update
titan, sprint leaked rom
chicago (NW suburbs)
anywhere from 200k to 1200k
in ie
but, i can't seem to run the test again through opera mini, says to fast/unstable, do i need to clear some cache from opera? so many of these tests seem so off, like running from ie vs opera..
can anyone recommend good websites for testing from the phone (non flash) for accurate results?
I did the 1 meg test for the dcd's titan rom 2.0.0 on my Verizon Titan w/Rev A 3.27.00 Radio ROM
911 kbit/sec - 985 kbit/sec
0.293s to 0.198s latency
9.228s to 8.445s d/l time
I am getting 900k or better on a regular basis, same test site. I cant use speedtest.net for whatever reason cause the phone wont load properly.
If anyone is using other speed test sites, let me know.
I get 200 to 900 on Alltell in Springfield Missouri on the stock ROM. My results are all over the board. It bounces up and down plus or minus 300 kbits from one second to the next in the same physical spot. I check it often since it was my reason for switching to Alltel. It seems strange that it supposedly fluctuates so greatly from one second to the next as Im standing still.
Harrisburg, PA
First Run
837kbit/sec
0.837s latency
10.401s download time
Second Run
874bikt/sec
0.994s latency
10.014s download time
I'm getting around 900k, but those damned lacked of video drivers really kill the fun of EVDO when trying to use web browsers.

I don't know too much about the lack of drivers; but what does the lack of drivers do to hinder the phone / web browsing?
On Telus, using Opera in my building with ****ty reception, 1039 kbit/sec.
0.329s latency
8.129s d/l time.
That is on a1jatt's custom Telus rom on the latest radio 3.27.00
Wow, a restest shows:

0.22 latency
4.323s d/l time.

I used the mspeed a couple times but I prefer speakeasy.

Puts a lot of stress on the CPU to have to both load and render the pages. You see the same effect on a PC if you have no video drivers installed.
There's a non-Java test at www.mobilespeedtest.com. With ROM version 2.09 and only PIE running, I got top EVDO speeds around 955kbps when testing five times in a row, with an average of about 865k when throwing out the one-time 245k result.

3 ROM SPB Benchmarks

Hello to all,
Here is a small contribution to our community, in a form of test od 3 different
WM6 ROMs:
HTC_WWE_2.21.405.2
AP3 Dual by PK
WM6_TMUK_2.35.110.4
All 3 ROMs are fast, and there is no itention to promote any of mentioned ROMs
as the fastest one, nor as the stablest one. Benchmarking is always a
double-edged axe, so use the benchmark results only as - numbers
Testing conditions:
Device: T-Mobile Ameo
- clean ROM install, basic device configuration
- no miniSD, no SIM inserted
- SPB Benchmark(tm) DEVICE install (SPB Benchmark is a trade mark of Spb Software House)
- every ROM tested with 18 tests, 3 times x 15 minutes
Total time for installation, testing and table calculation: 4 h.
Regards,
MDA3__CRO
Thanks for doing those benchmarks. I was in the midst of something similar when I was pulled away by work. Very interesting stuff, and a great contribution to this forum. Now we just need to line up AP4 variants.
thanks for Gr8 info
Hi mate,,,,,
Thats all gr8 information on this post..really wants to appriciate work.......
cheers...
*we should be working.!
Excellent work son, its interesting to see which rom is stronger in which arena.

[Q] Benchmarks?

Does anyone feel like posting their benchmarks on the custom ROMs they are running? I know not every GTab will run the same but I would like to get a basic idea of what the hottest scores are. Thanks.
TNT Lite 4.3.x with stock kernel is ~40 fps (Nenamark) and ~2300 in Quadrant. On average.
There are definitely higher scores than that, with some of the other modded ROMs.
2200 with vegan 5.11 Benchmark Atuntu
Thank you guys for posting your benches. I had seen some one some where, posting that they get 60fps. Any one getting 60fps?
there is guide in dev forum where you can get up to 77fps, but the recomended is under 75.
You might mean the frame rate. The default is 50, but TNT Lite and gADAM up the frame rate to 60. At least one mod ups it to 77.
That's not really a benchmark, though - I assumed you meant something like Quadrant.
Im running caulkins rom and clemsyn's kernel #6. I'm averaging around 2400 on quadrant and 3000 on smartbench. The only thing faster on smartbench is overclocked xoom
It looks like most of the new ROMs run pretty fast. If i can get 2200-2500 in Quadrant I will be happy.
I get a little over 3000 qudrant

i got several scores in the 2400s today and one personal best of 2518.

Are you bull****'n? 3000? i havent seen anyone say they are hitting the 3000 mark. I'd like to know what you're running too. Did you overclock? I dont think i want to overclock mine.

I have the same setup on my gtab... got 39.1 fps in nenamark, and 2399 in quadrant.
I just set my gtab up today so it doesn't have much on it yet.
There is a post in the development section by chengu that has a loopback fix that enhances read/write speeds on the internal SD. This makes the I/O part of quadrant way faster. I have posted on that thread vegan stock 10x average is 2500+. With the loopback fix its a 10x average of 3100 with peaks of 3333. So no its not BS but really how much do quadrant (or any other test) effect daily functionality.? It is great for bragging rights though, especially to xoomers.

Fyi: restart your tab 5 or six times, I know I sounds weird but it takes that many to streamline it completely. Let it stabilize after boot and then power down, wait 20 sectonds and and power on. It wil take up to six minutes on first boot and get less each time.
It uses boot time to write changes.
Have fun ;-)
loopback fix like others have said
Is there any down fall to using the loop back fix? Heat issues or failure? Why isnt anyone implementing this into their ROMs?
No adverse side effects that I have noticed. Most people have noticed a slight increese in playing video from internal memory and web browsing cashed sights. Read the thread its full of good info.

Good info. Nice find. I'm not surprised they are still working on the camera.
Dang whats up with the evo 3d benchmark scores(I know they aren't the same as real life performance) they were pretty off from the sensation, well those weird browser ones were anyway. When they actually used a benchmark app the evo 3d scores won by a little. I didn't know you could do benchmarks in a browser.

You can run benchmarks on anything and through anything. This is the best illustration I can think of to underscore the fact that "benchmarks aren't the same as real life performance." If it is going through the browser (which is likely identical on both phones) then it is subject to the whims of the network connection, the medium being the most suspect. If it's WiFi that's sketchy enough, if it's 3G or "4g" then those scores are just about worthless. Sure, it could be a client-side benchmark downloaded and run within the browser but even then unless both devices were booted up at the same exact time, let sit for the same exact amount of time, browsers on both phones were launched at the same exact time, every single tap and scroll was duplicated on both phones, every app (or no app) was all launched (or not) in the same precise order...unless all of those conditions (and far more specific conditions) are all met the test is worthless..
...and the Evo has 256mb more memory, so, perhaps that's just a side effect of more aggressive garbage collection to compensate for that fact....and while the GSM and CDMA chipsets are identical except for that fact, who knows what minute--imperceptible but measurable--differences that might introduce. Not to you or I using it, but, to a benchmark program.
nothing is actually running "through" the browser, its a test of the java scripting language used in many browsers and applications, and websites. There are no other factors than how fast the phone can execute javascript.
bump
this is the only thread with useful information
Can someone explain the scores and basically what they mean. Also I am curious how this would affect cores that worked independently and ones that worked on each other. To me the indep cores may seem to have lower benchmark score because it may only be using 1 core to obtain the score being seen(again I have no idea what im talking about, I even forgot my name). Im coming from a HTC Fuze so I've been away from androids and well I never seen a thread on the Fuze page about benchmarks(so im a bit retardid ).
Thanks for this.. really

Just got my brand new MEGA 6.3(i9200)! OMG!!

I have been holding on and skipping devices that were/are really appealing to me(LG Pro, Oppo, Sony Xperia Z, etc) for the Note 3.
I was going to order the Xperia Z Ultra but thankfully I convinced my self otherwise. I'm not playing many games now days nor using it heavily.
Mostly for above average media consumption, light gaming, browsing.
Also as I said I was waiting for the Note 3 since the day Note 2 was announced I decided to skip a generation.
And thankfully I decided to skip the Note 3 for the Mega. I really wanna go even bigger this time. I don't mind the mid-range performance.
And since my original Note with Asylum 4.3 now feels so incredible(it felt good with custom JB 4.1.2 too), I can only imagine the Mega will blow my mind.
I got the Note 1 at launch and I paid for it quite dearly for it back then.
And today I got my Samsung MEGA(i9200). HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! I'm really in love with this device. The size, the screen, its sound quality are just... amazing!
I can't even remotely begin to explain how I feel about it. This IS really the device that ever wanted. This device in my hand(s) feels like home...
I'm using it for a couple hours now and I can tell you I wouldn't even think about trading it for a Note 3(for free yes as I could sell the Note3 and buy another Mega )
This is really my preferred size of a phone. But I can go down to 6" too if the N4 is released next year and its 5,9-6,0". The best device so far I ever owned.
I also stated that I can go up to 6" when I got my Note in previous post of mine. So I was kinda always wanted a phone this big,
Watched a few trailers, videos clip, youtube videos, listen to many songs. I can say the experience was amazing. I haven't played any games yet tho.
This phone is big. You cannot really how humongous it's unless you light up the screen. The you can understand how huge it is. But it doesn't feel THAT bigger than my Note tbh.
I think that sums things up for me. I haven't felt this excited for a phone since 21 months ago when I got my original Note. Really, really happy owner here.
P.S: I can test/check/confirm anything you guys might want. Like bugs(like dim bug), codes, camera firmware, glitches etc etc. Just let me know. :good:
Edit: I have FM Radio btw and its fully working.
Congrats! Could you run a movie on both Note and Mega and tell us what you think. I am particularly interested in comparing the brightness, and the blacks. And colors. If you could play a high bit rate action movie 720p and compare them smoothness that would be great too. Thanks!

I always compared my previous phones(when its possible to compare them anyway) to my new ones. I always test them with 1080p trailers of excellent quality.
I will do a side by side test with both devices playing various videos(big buck bunny, Sintel, Tekken Blood Vengeance, Hobbit, Avatar, Timescapes etc etc).
But I must be honest, I consider my self a true fan of the AMOLED screens and I love them and I swear by them, so I check the display differences extensively.
I always compare them side by side in:
benchmarks( doing a reboot first and then clearing RAM and closing every possible running up)
screen quality by playing same video with MX at the exact same settings on both devices and also by displaying both the same photo/image.
Camera quality by taking the exact same picture outdoors in qood sunlight conditions and tonight I will test the low light camera quality and view them on my pc.
And obviously the side by side size comparisons. lol.
And maybe a few more...

You will de-virginize(is that even a word) my Mega as you did with my Note...
Update on the battery life:
Its been 7 hours since the first fully charge and 32% remaining. 5 hours screen on time so far with 4h:44m WIFI on time.
Usage was(estimated unless said otherwise):
Around 30-40 Youtube videos(in HD).
Played 10-12 1080p videos I put from the PC for around maybe 20-25 minutes all total time of play time with the MX Player.
Run Antutu 4.0.1(19907) once.
Run 3DMark twice(5474).
Browsed the web with Chrome Beta for around 12 minutes as it say in the stats even tho I feel it was longer than that.
Took around 15 photos some with around 5 being with flash
Also spent a couple of minutes totally just looking at the screen. That thing is huge!

Agreed! Love it!
Update: Rooted today(from here) and updated with XXUAMH1(SILENTLIGHT Rom found here).
This AMH1 release feels and IS faster. I can swear the apps at least feels that open up faster.
In general the phone feels noticeably smoother.
Also my score in 3DMark went from 5147 to 5506. Antutu from 19500 to 20500.
And no, it felt faster all day long. I just run the synthetic test like 15min ago. So I didn't had that in mind to cause a placebo effect or anything.
Congrats koniakki on getting the mega and you are going to enjoy it, i ran Antutu on a stock rom yet, and phone is only rooted at this time and i got a score of 20662..imagine when some custom roms come out for this phone it could have a better score yet..enjoy your new phone.

Thanks for the reply starmaster and welcome to the Mega community too! My best on the Antutu 4.0.1 was around 20500! So well done! :good:
Quadrant was about 7250-7300 my best. Can't remember exactly but was about there. Bring the custom roms/kernels. Our Snappy has a lot of headroom for improvements!
Also starmaster, what I like also is when I compare that score along with the Note 2 or Xperia Z in the Rankings!
Forsure and the scores are very close to those two phones and the mega beats both of those two other phones in the 3D Graphics gaming category i see..now bring on the custom roms. :good:

No.. i have no tweaks in the phone at all, it is just rooted and that is all, maybe my model i527m is a little different in ways and in the info is says 1.7 GHz cpu and it is a Qualcomm snapdragon and the Adreno 305, maybe i got lucky and got a really good phone..but everything is stock except the rooting part.

We are just trying to figure out how to get that too and see if a kernel/rom or simply the I527M version of the Mega is just faster or better optimized!
The differences are in the CPU and I/O which are 5000 and 2000 points faster respectively. I hope someone more knowledgeable can enlighten us, since it will benefit us all to make our devices even faster!
