hi everyone, I have a little question,,, when installing programs from ActiveSync to the storage card, the folders are created on the root! is there a way to make them grouped under a specific folder?? "Storage Card\Program Files" for example!
I got alot of programs installed on my MMC, but they are cluttered!!!
Thanks alot
yes, easiest way is to use CABINSTALL. copy installed cab file from programfiles/activesync/... straight to PDA and then run cabinstall..
Thanks alot kavalir

can I put programs like explorer, word and excel on sd - and how do you remove such programs.
cheers dudes
No, you can't. These are in ROM anyway, so you would have no benefit from doing this.
I have jsut installed Tomtom 5 on my wm2005 xda2 following instructoins found on this forum, however, you have to put certain files on your device (program files and my documents) folders.
I want to install this so that the whole thing is situated on my sd card. Is this possiible?
If so, what folders do you need to create etc, i've tried the obvious ones, like creating a program files and my documents folder on the sd card but as the path is known as \storage card\program files it didn't work
Any advice would be helpful... :/
8) Hi
i installed tt5 no problem. WM2005 ask`s you where you want to install.
the only thing is the zip folder needs to be on the device.
Works fine without postal codes.
 Would be nice if someone could configure tomtom 5 to see zip folder on sd card?
strange coz my zip folder is on my sd card along with my map.
I could not install tomtom 5 using the installer as it kept crashing when trying to access activesync 4 so had to manually install it by extracting the cab and copying the files manually to the device folders program files and my documents.
Hello,
I did a hard reset of my Hermes without installing softs in ext rom for saving space. Then I unhide the ext rom.
Now I want to install manually only the softs I need.
How could I know what are the differents softs in the ext rom ? I can see the files names, but I don't know their meaning...
Many thanks.
Extract the cabinet file using cabextract or wince cab manager. Then look at the contents of the extracted cab file, and try to figure out...
I've noticed in a few thread people mention using the phone to format your SD card. Am I missing something? Where is this option?
*EDIT*
Never mind, I found the program in the \Windows directory. The shortcut must just be missing in the Settings folder or taken out by tmous.
There isn't. Yo must have one of these:
Sktools
Spb Pocket Plus
Pocket Mechanic
Resco Explorer
StorageTools
nvm, found it in the \Windows directory, will update OP.
Hi guys,
i downloaded a few apps using the Omarket app and i don't know where it stores the downloaded .cab s
Therefore, all my free space just "disapeared".
I read somewhere that one must find the Omarket folder where it stores but the cab, but i searched all the folders in my phone and no sign of it.
Please help me, i don't want to format my phone again.
Ah, i also uninstalled the Omarket app and there were no changes in the free space.
It loads the cabs into the \cache folder where omarket is stored. The folder is erased when you close the application, so if you just want to recover the cabs, you need to use a file explorer to move them out of that folder while the application is still running.
actually, i want to remove them... but i cant find where they are stored
aparently they are stored somewhere, simply "eating" my free space
I assume you installed the programs you downloaded through Openmarket? Where did you install them? Into device memory? Because that's what really uses up your storage. Openmarket definitely deletes the dowloaded .cabs when you close it after a download. But that does not change the fact that the installed apps need storage space when installed. I would check how much memory the corresponding folder in your device memory uses. Depending on the language of your phone it's called "Program Files" "Programme"...
If it's indeed the mere size of all the installed software in your device memory that uses up all it's capacitiy I recommend you moving some programs onto your storage card.
