I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM. XDA RESTARTS 3-4 TIMES A DAY - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Recently my xda I began to restart itself without being used. When I put it in standby mode (power button) and after a while turn it back on, not always but at least 3-4 times a day it restarts itself.
Does someone know why is this happening and if there is a way to stop this.
P.S. - I don't know if this comes from the ROM because it has happened with different versions of ROMs.[/b]

The problem with the restarts is usually caused by the SIM card cover. Sometimes if you press it it will reset. There is a contact point underneath the rubber cover and it sometimes makes contact and resets the device.
You can try pressing it to see it the device restarts and you found your culprid. You may take the sim out and reinset it to see if the contact resets or you may have to have the unit sent in for repair/replacement with your phone provider!

Had to get my phone replaced!

Had to get my one day old Nokia 800 replaced today.
Got everything setup last night and decided to power it off just to give it a restart. The phone would refuse to power back on. No amount of button pushing/reconnecting to the power would make it start up again. No power, nothing..dead.
I managed to get it to restart after performing the three button reset. No problem I thought maybe just a one off. Turned the phone off and put it on charge overnight and this morning the same problem returned.. Could not power on. This time the reset would not work at all, no matter how many times I tried.
Carphone warehouse swapped it over in store today for another handset. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the replacement.
Edit: already seen someone else mention a similar problem on here. Hope there's not a bigger issue.
How do you perform the three button reset? My phone randomly decided to turn off whilst I was driving and now it wont turn back on
Yes I've been in that spot as well. For five minutes the phone wouldn't respond to any power button press. Long, short, whatever. I was already starting to slide into panic mode when it suddenly came back alive on another short press.
It's not the only hardware problem I've encountered, I also have problems with touchscreen and buttons and a loose part inside the device.

[Q] HELP - random black screen and have to pull battery to fix

I'm running Neutrino ROM v2.6 and every once in a while RANDOMLY I will pull my phone out to use it and it will be black screened. It's as if it's turned off but I can't even turn it back on. The power button does nothing, even after holding it down for 30 seconds. I can't do anything. No matter which button I press and which way I push the power.
The only fix is to pull my phone out of its case, remove it's back cover, take out the battery, reinsert it; then it will power on and act normal again. I can't replicate the issue. It's just very random. Happening like 2-3 times a day right now. Would a different ROM/Kernel fix this?
It happened to me before...i just switched a device at the store to a new atrix 4g.
I heard that switching the sim card ~might~ help but chances are low because this is not just a reboot. sorry for you.

[Q] S3 keeps restarting on its own

I created this new thread because the others dont really describe the actual problem Im facing with my phone,
Suddenly my phone restarted and its not starting up moreover once or twice it did make it to the home screen but it keeps on locking like the power button is being continuously pressed and again its restarting.. Moreover when i remove the battery and place it again it starts restarting again..
Is it a software problem or should I take it to the service center?
Service centre if factory reset did not fix .
I encountered a similar issue a few weeks ago, my phone kept rebooting now and then. Knowing about the "sudden death" issue, I verified and it all was OK. My problem was a hardware one. The power button had an issue, so almost whenever I tucked it into my pocket it rebooted. Continuously. Even after I removed the battery and put it back it kept rebooting. I took it to a GSM service and I had it fixed in 10 minutes for about $10. They replaced the power button (the plastic and that rubber-like thingy). I'm glad they didn't have to remove the mechanical button. Also you could check the battery contacts (on the battery itself) and clean them - use something hard that can wipe off any residue.
Repaired
Thanks for the replies, the power button indeed was at fault, replaced and now its working great

[Q] Power/Shutdown Menu Randomly popping up

My samsung galaxy i9300 has been working great for a year and suddenly started to act funny.
One day it works without any problem, then from nowhere, phone lying on the table and the power/shutdown menu starts randomly appearing and popping up, like I would want to turn the phone off or restart it. And Im not even touching it.
I tried many different ROMs, official, custom, I took it to the samsung service and they changed the power button.
I tried different batteries, chargers, switched the main board to different s3 phone, but it still, once in a while, does that popping up power off menu thing.
If I let the menu appear for a certain period of time and do nothing, the popping up frequency gets higher and higher until it restarts the phone and then ends in bootloop.
Sometimes if I remove the battery for a certain period of time, the phone starts up and works like nothing happened a minute ago. Other times it does not boot up and stays in bootloop.
I figured out that if I continue to push power button in a one second intervals after powering the phone, it continues to boot up and starts up. I enter the PIN code and then the phone either acts again like nothing happened, or starts the popping thing again.
If I keep pushing the power button while the popping up shutdown menu is happening, I kind of cancel the whole thing and phone works okay, ending again either in no problem state and working like a new phone, or restarting itself and bootlooping.
It doen not happend at certain time or while doing any specific activity or while in specific app, or anything, totaly random thing, sometimes during the call, week later during the night, 2 days after in my pocket, 10 hours later while lying on the table.
Thank you for any ideas what could be causing this.
Better ask for a new replacement from Samsung.

I had this exact same issue. It's simply the power button acting funny/getting stuck. Mine got changed and now everything works as it's supposed to again.

It acts really wierd. Its been working for another 3-4 days, and then yesterday, the issue started again for like 5-10 minutes. Since then, its been okay again. The power button is perfectly fine, I even tried to dissambly the whole phone, power button is not loose at all.
It feels like there is some kind of interuption for a while and it starts the issue. I dont understand much about frequencies, but could any radio frequency or whatever cause such a thing?

Zperia Z5: LEDs Flash, Then Phone Reboots

Random Crashing
I am experiencing random crashes where the phone stops and the LED flashes a few times before rebooting. At first I thought it was overheating, as the phone was quite warm the first few times, but it has just done it when cold. It has happened mostly whilst in the play store. It's crashed about 15 times in 4 hours.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there anyway to access the logs without root?
*** Edit ***
This must just be a dud device. I did a factory reset last night and it crashed rebooting. Will take back to shop and hopefully exchange for a new one.
Did u tried to repair it via PC Companion?
It comes from a bad battery voltage. I had One m7 and after 1 year this problem begin. They change the battery and battery conector and it comes to work good.
This happened after 5 minutes, it's been sent back to the shop now for repair / replacement. Shame, as it was a nice phone when it wasn't crashing!
I had kind of the same experience with my device I bought yesterday. Turned it on, worked for about half an hour before flashing the red LED a few times and shutting down. After that it turned on once again, booted halfway up, the red LED flashed again and it shut down again. Then it did not react to anything anymore.
Plugging it into the charger did not yield any reaction at all. Pressing On and the Vol+ button made it vibrate three times as its supposed to do, but afterwards even that did not work anymore. As a last resort I pressed the hard reset button in the SIM slot, which also made it vibrate three times without any other reaction.
So I concluded it was dead and returned it to the store this morning to get my money back. I think I will hold of of buying a replacement until all the errors that currently pop up are sorted out.
Also noteworthy is, that while booting up and in the time it was usable the screen had a red tint sometimes and touch was working rather flakily.
They sent me a brand new phone, so was def a dud. No crashes so far, finger crossed
