Help xda2 doesent react anymore no hardreset possible - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Help i tryed to install the new rom q.tek 1.72 on my xda2
Had some problems after a lot of rebooting suddenly the xda2 wont do a thing. I mean even the battery light doesnt work when i put it on ac.
No hardreset possible. also tryed hardreset + pressing the directions pad . Not working. Can somebody help plz

I had this also one time after a failed upgrade. For me it was solved after removing the battery for a few minutes.

Can also try leaving the unit in the cradle on charge for an hour or so then trip a reset.

XDAII Died during upgrade to WM2K3SE !!

Dear Gurus ...
I need help. During the upgrading process, the connection was disconnected and my XDAII is currently not showing any sign of life.
I ran through the forum, and tries a lot of stuff:
1) try to reset it to bootloader (pwr+joy+reset) - nothing
2) change USB port - nothing
3) setting in MsActiveSync - nothing
There is no display on the screen right now. Even if I put it in to charge there is nothing, no flashing blue led etc ... just dead ....
One thing I noticed is that after removing the battery, and putting it into the cradle, there is a red led light up.
Currently I ran out of options and can only think off taking out the battery for the XDAII to drain completely (not sure if this could help me get into the bootloader mode).
Any one out there who has any bright ideas? Pls help as I am desperate to fix my XDAII .... thanks ....

I had the same problem but I didn't loose hope. I kept on resetting it until I was able to get into the bootloader mode. It was black with some writings "SERIAL 1.06". When I put it back on cradle, Serial changed into USB 1.06. Tried to do the upgrade over and over again but didn't work. I put AC Adapter to my cradle and hard reset my unit, put back to the cradle, started the upgrade again and it worked.

There are several Golden Rules when upgrading - not just to SE, but any upgrade.
Always make sure the cradle is attached directly to a USB port on the PC and not through a hub.
Always make sure the power supply is connected to the cradle.
Disable USB in Activesync connection settings.
Disable any screensavers
If an error does occur, putting your device into bootloader mode and restarting the upgrade often proceeds OK.
Bootloader mode can be a little tricky to obtain as the multi-directional button has to be pressed directly down in the middle - not tilted up, tilted down, tilted left or tilted right, at the same time as pressing the power button and the reset switch.
It is very easy to assume bootloader is not working when it may just take several attempts before you get it right.

My qtek2020 dead because it's my mistake I upgrade it to SE correctly but with Chinese Version and before DCS post his ROM when I saw it's working better than my PDA2K I try to flash my qtek2020 with the PDA2K ROM ( I make some HEX editing ) but with no luck my qtek2020 is totally dead
Any body have solution !
How I recover from my dead XDA II ..
I have to agree with DCS that those are the rules and you need to follow them properly. It's not the ROM that's having the problem but the procedure needs to be followed.
In my case I didn't have the Sync cable properly connected (I bought a new sync cable & I didn't use the cradle) to upgrade the XDAII (duh!).. and I paid the price of having my heart droped on the floor ..
My nightmare started when the cable came loose halfway through the upgrade, so the XDA kind of "hung" and when I tried to reset it, it refuse to show any signs. Do a small test. My guess is as long as you take out the battery, put the XDA II into the charger (without a battery), and the red light comes on, that's a good sign.
For those who is stuck in this situation try this steps:
1) Remove the main battery
2) Leave it out for at least 30mins (to drain the backup battery)
3) Go make your self a coffee or watch TV (time flies faster than staring at your XDAII)
4) Put the battery back (at this stage it still won't work)
5) Put the XDAII into the AC Charger (give it a good 5mins charge)
6) Then keep doing the hard reset (just don't give up, it's like doing CPR, your XDAII will show "Serial 1.06" after a good hard resets ...)
Those steps above did work for my XDAII .... and it should work for most cases as I believe when we upgrade (the ROM) we don't touch the bootloader. Sometimes when we screw up, the XDAII got "hung" and it needs a good "cold boot". Taking the battery out won't help because the backup battery is still in. After a good "cold boot" the XDAII will boot into the bootloader and you can resume your upgrade ;-)
NOTE : Do keep your fingers cross through out the entire process.
PS: Thanks to DCS, Twinkle, mamaich and many others who contributed to this fine forum ... Long live the XDA I, II, IIs, III .... beyond ....
How to upgrade my BOOOTLOADER VERSION (it shows USB 1.01)
Is there a way to change my bootloader version from USB 1.01 to 1.06? I'm currently using T-Mobile MDA-II.
Thanks beforehand!
I have a big problem: this summer i dropped my MDA2 on a concrete floor and i broke the power button so I cant make anything but soft reset, or to remove the battery for 30 min for hard reset.

Ps: If I remove the battery and plug the Ac.Adpt I can see here the red light , but if I put back the battery there won't be red light , is that normal ?

Thanx to dcs i was able to get my device working again.
During upgrade (wich was also possible due to time and effort by DCS) my laptop went into standby for unknown reason.
So my xda got stuck in T-Mobile bootscreen
It was this thread and especially the posting by dcs wich saved my ass (and xda)
for i did not know about the reset with third button to get into bootloader.
Now i finally upgraded to 2003SE.
Thanx DCS!!

Just searching through the old threads and I found this post by alvinlim28. I have the same simptoms, white screen, won't start, I get the red light when I remove the battery and place the hima in the craddle, so I guess I'll be up all night trying to get into bootloader and reflash. Thanks all for the contribution in this forum, and thank God for the search option
J.
No luck tonight, I'll keep trying tomorrow gtg to sleep now.
cheers,
J

I've been tryin' all day, and I'm unable to enter bootloader mode

Please help! Himalaya won’t turn on

I have upgraded my Himalaya to 1.50g and yesterday forgot to charge it and now it won’t turn on even I’ve put it in the cradle for 2 hours now. How can I fix it and prevent it from happening again? It didn’t happen to me before upgrading to WM0.5
tried reset both the normal reset and the special 2005 hardreset ?
Yes, I’ve try both. But no sign came. Only the red light gets on when I put it in cradle
Put the battery off and place it on the battery slot behind the cradle..
if still the same.. reply ASAP!
I’ve charged the battery since got your advice but it did not help also
I can not see any sign that my Himalaya is alive but the red light when connected with the power supply. With the power I’ve tried to come to bootloader mode but without success. It didn’t respond any more
I’ve just managed to wake it up one time. It comes as from hardreset. The battery indicator showed backup battery 100%, main battery 34%, but it last only about 5 minutes then come off again and the red light come back
sounds like a hardware issue with the battery
or a very very naugthy unstd sim card
Now it’s working again!
Thanks lot! I have cleaned it from inside out let the battery full charged for 1 night, managed to hardreset it, reinstalled the rom and now it’s working again

o2 neo with wm6 doesnt charge with the same charger it used to when it was wm5.. why?

friends,
i have pdaviet 4.0.0.0.3a on my o2 neo n the weird thing is with wm6 it doesnt charge with the same charger i used to use when my o2 was using wm5?! can anyone please explain me this problem? i plug in the charger, the orange led lights up showing that it is charging, even the battery status icon changes to charging mode, but there is no charging happening or well battery status shows that the battery is dieing more than charging.. why? what to do? please please help.. do i need something else or what?
thanks a lott..
1. Did you follow the ROM flashing procedure Step 1 and Step 2 faithfully?
2. Is this charger the original charger came with the phone?
Try that one first and see. You will find not all chargers alike, especially where there are USB 1.0 and 2.0 specifications.
Or, you have taken some shorcuts to install your 4.0.0.0.3.
yesss i have.. not once but several times.. in the attempt to get my charger workingg.. but its not.. i dunno what to do.. pls help..
downgrade to wm5 and test the charger,it is simple
I have the same problem (i use PDAVIET 4.0.0.4)
I has tried with an adaptator and with connection pda->pc, but not work!
have you tried xda-dev batfix
see bottom of post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1166781&postcount=1
seemed to help mine with the charging issue. On the other hand, maybe it wasn't that. Your mileage may vary.
There seems to be a problem with charging in WM6 with others than the original wall-charger.
When i charge at a different PC or generic USB-charger setting the device off (pressing power-button for severeal seconds) will allow charging in off-mode.
my charger used to work with wm5 properly.. with wm6 on my device, i have to rely on my laptop to charge my phone and that can be a pain in the butt sometimes.. one weird thing i noticed is if i want my wall charger to work, i first plug my o2 into laptop for few mins and then plug my wall charger into my o2 n it starts charging.. but what if i go somewhere where i dont have laptop access.. then what?! the wall charger was an idea that did not require me to rely on the laptop but in my case there is no function of wall charger without laptop..
as for the recommendations, i will try xda-battfix thingg.. thank you very very very much for all your support..

I have same problem with the latest PDAVIET 4.0.0.0.5 .... I tried xda-batfix but did not solve the problem.... any solution?
Jarel
i was stuck up like this too and was't able to charge even going back to wm5 nvid rom so i found this solution:
step 1 .) format with wm5 nvid rom on wm5towm6 upgrade page
step 2.) download http://rapidshare.com/files/47536071/PV_4.0.0.0.5b_Cross.zip ,or refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321832 topic > ROM WM6 for Prophet
PDAViet 4.0.0.0.5b Cross (simple upgrade)
step 3.) stick to this rom for sometime like me untill i would find something new else continue experimenting and help me too but i think for now this is perfect for me i dont want cube but i have cross with touch flo and stable battery charging (its enough for me.)
I have the same/similar problem with my charmer with WM6...
For the reason and a kind of solution/workaround see my post here:

I can not believe this topic is up again !!try Crystal or Touch v7 or even transformer 1.1 they don't have any problem with charger! because they use the right drivers.

another dead prophet

Hi guys
I have a dead prophet in my hands. It came dead already and I dont know what happened to it. Basicly, screen flashes when I put the battery in. Cant go on bootloader by pressing the keys. Can only go in bootloader by shorting the charger to the pins ( 1 and 5 ). Bootloader dosnt stay on if I take the cables on. It stays on only shorting it. I manage put this rom from the imate
JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship.zip and had no luck . ROM update sucess but phone still in the same way. Im going to try a couple of more roms to see if I have any luck. Did anyone had a similar problem ? its a G4 so there is a chance that someone previouly tried a bad rom or even can be hardware problem.
Still .. any sugestion is good.
Thanks guys
Try the ORIGINAL wall charger and then put the battery in. That might work and once th accu has charged enough you can boot.
Might be the charging-bug.
My S200 is back for repair, crashd a couple of times and now it turns on, but see no display, no LED's.
Looks like a hardware defect, on active sync the S200 seems to work.
Hard reset's didn't work out.
The Phone is equiped with an original latest WWE ROM.
It seems to be a problem of these phone's, this is the second time it broke with this problem....
There is a difference with the former problem and my latest, the former my screen never came up, with the latest it came up after removing the battery for 15 minutes, but after an hour usage the S200 crashd or didn't show any display...
Hope they are able to repair the damn thing..., it wasn't a cheap device...
Another one here!
I'm the most stupid guy in the world. I was unlocking my G4 device with Lokiwize, and it killed my Prophet . I can't Turn it on without Charger. While trying to turn it on the LCD and LEDs just blinking and nothing will happened. I Need My Device, Anyone who can help me?
I think it's IPL Problem.
Before The Update:
IPL 2.x.x.xxxx
SPL 2.x.x.xxxx
After The Update:
IPL 1.x.x
SPL 2.x.x.xxxx
Please somebody Helppppppppppppp Meeeeeeeeeeeee

[HELP]Cingular 8125 won't start and charge

Hi everyone, i have a little problem with my cingular 8125. I am the second owner, so i might not be able to give every details. However, the problem is this: the first owner had wm5 english and decided to put on wm6 italian, so he tried but the wizard brickked. Now, the phone won't turn on, won't go in the bootlader (camera+ power) and won't charge if plugged in the USB. The battery was dead, i charged her but still nothing happens... the wizard act like dead. what can i do? Jtag?
Plz Help!
Thx
If you mean you don't get the charge light then plug it in using the original WALL charger. The charge light should come on after a minute or so. DO NOT press the power button for at least 20 minutes. If this doesn't work then you need a new battery.
