I see in the forums that chinese rom wm2003se is available. Where can I download it?
I've made an update that can be installed without SD-card.

To install it - extract this archive, enter bootloader on your device and run HimaUpgradeUt.exe.
The nk.nbf also contains the 1.06 bootloader, it was not updated on my device. But I'm not sure, so those who have 1.02 bootloader - be careful, program may update it to 1.06 version!
The extended ROM is not included into archive.
And one note. It seems that my device started to work a bit slower after installing this ROM.
P.S. I'm trying now to remove MUI files from ROM, I'll post what I'll get.

Hi guys,
i got a T-Mobile Hermes last week and was able to unlock it with the newest unlocker tool.
Because my provider is O2 i would like to flash the O2 Rom on it. I read all the upgrading FAQ and lots of other stuff but my question is:
Do i have to use a RUU utility (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298737) or could i also start the o2_1.25.207.2_1.07.03.10_HSDPA_GER.exe file?I have IPL-1.01 and SPL-1.40.Olipro installed.
I guess the .exe does not work because of my bootloader version. I am right?

Probably not. Just start the exe and it will extract the files into a temporary directory (winzip or 7zip may be able to extract the files without running the exe). Either way find the temp dir and copy the latest version of RUUWrapper there and run that.

Follow kevino's good advice. Once you extract the EXE using RAR or ZIP, you should get a file called RUU_Signed.nbh or something similar - probably in the 50-70Mb range. You need to put that file and the new version of Custom_RUU that kevino referred to in a folder. Then run the Custom_RUU and answer the questions - use the auto-detect option, btw.
I have upgraded my 838pro to IPL - 1.04, SPL- 2.10 Olipro , Radio 1.43.00.00, OS is Black Majik .
Is it possible to upgrade from officially released wm06 rom from dopod (when its released), will it work, or give me problems.
I am newbie to upgrades. so i dont know technical things like hardspl etc.

Yes it is possible, but your SPL will be overwriten..
If you want to keep HardSPL, you need to extract the official SPL from the official ROM so it doesn`t get flashed onto your device

INCORRECT sir.
HardSPL will not allow a retail SPL to flash over it.
The RUU which HTC will no doubt supply it with will probably not detect your device correctly (since you are using a superior SPL hehe).
Copy ther nbh file contained in the update to a folder and use RUUWrapper.exe which will flash it no problem (use autodetect).

The only benefit of SuperCID is you can read/write to the ext_rom in windows mobile.....so not really a great benefit.
HardSPL reports itself as SuperCID.....but your device is NOT. Essentially your device is virtually SuperCID.

When I have gone back from a WM6 ROM to the Official (WM5) AT&T ROM I flashed the older (1.04 I wanna say?) version of HardSPL and it works fine and gets overwritten to the 1.11. Then if I go back to WM6 I just reflash HardSPL v7 and it works fine. I'm not sure if that actually does make it official, but I know based on the startup and bootloader screens, after going to the old HardSPL then using the AT&T Updater, everything says 1.11 and looks the same as it did before I started putting cooked ROMs on my phone.

Just a quick question regarding your answer to Shamanix...
You said here that all he needs to do is copy the their nbh file in the update and use the RUUWrapper to flash it... Surely he needs to extract only the rom, ext rom, and radio? Then recompile to a nbh file to flash?
The original nbh file is still going to contain the spl & ipl which will cause problems not so?

The flash will go ahead as normal but the SPL and IPL will NOT be written over.
Either that or just use the repackaged version of the official WM6 dopod ROM ive posted in the WM6 section.

I'm a total newbie to Windows Mobile. Trying to app/registry unlock my phone, I downloaded regedit.exe and the regeditSTG2.exe to my pc. I've tried dragging them to the Qtek 8500. The regedit.exe is on the phone, the STG2.exe doesn't even appear. Trying to run the regedit.exe from the phone results in nothing - leftclicking just shows up a "General" properties tab, with file type, Location \ (must be root, right?) , file size etc. Right clicking offers cut, copy, shortcut, delete and rename.
1. So how do I run it?
2. The regeditSTG2 is so called "digitally signed." What does this mean, and what benefits does it bring?
3. Why wont the regeditSTG2 allow itself to be dragged onto the "mobile device?"

There is a regeditSTG2 in cab-file, just copy to your device and launch. You can run it from Start Menu

I want to flash your 6.1 ROM according as per instructions:
1) make an application unlock
2) copy content of SSPL to the root of your device
3) run SPL.lnk
4) run ROM Update Utility.exe on your PC
5) follow the instructions
6) wait until flash process will be completed
My current ROM is 1.02.252.1. I want to have the safest possible flash possible. The application unlock contains two pieces, one the regeditSTG procedure, and two, the SDApplication unlock tool.
Q1. If I understand correctly that is step one above, right?

No, application unlock contains only one piece regeditSTG procedure for any Qtek or i-mate ROMS. And SDA Applcation Unlock for Cingular ROM

You can flash via SoftSPL, BUT it will be safer if you will make a SuperCID procedure (but pay attention to all the steps, otherwise you can crash your radio and it cant be recovered)

I don't know. But this sequence (any ROM->Cingular 4.1.502.5 official rom->any custom rom) already tested many-many times.

can't perform backup of registry for i617 blackjack 2
when i use this registry editor to backup my phone it give me the error "unable to perform backup" can anybody tell me why? is there any registry editor that backs up windows mobile standard?
I want to upgrade my Oxygen to WM 6.0 or 6.1, but I'm not sure of how to do it without screewing up my phone (I already did it on a tornado..).
Could someone check if I've understood what I need to do ?

brand new HTC S310, just flashed by HTC, english (Italiano, English, french, espanol, nederland, deutsch), No Sim lock, no app lock, System 5.1.1.195, Radio 4.1.13.20_02.41.90, RTL 2.002. On the bootloader, I can read "Oxygen, ONBL 1.05.0000, SPL 1.05.0000".
First , I need to change the SPL, using http://rapidshare.com/files/65732449/hspl.7z.htm :
1. Copy spl.nb, spl.lnk and jumpspl.exe to the root of device, hold camera and launch spl.lnk - you`ll see the white screen
2. Connect USB to pc
3. From the flasher folder run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow instructions to flash the Hard-SPL
Then, reboot the phone in bootlloader
Then, I can flash the rom contained in http://rapidshare.com/files/114457795/wm61OxygenUpdate1.rar, using the same usual RomUpdateUtility. that would bring me to WM 6.1.
After that , I'm done.
If I'm not satisfied with this Rom, i Could reflash with Oxygen/RUU_Oxygen_1.5.401.2_R3_4.1.13.28_02.67.90_HTC_EUR_Test.exe, which is a WM 6.0, or some others found elsewhere. For that, I don't need tochange again SPL etc..

It would be better to flash a rom with the flasher from the unlock tool. Your phone/bootloader will remain unlocked that way.

Sorry, but as I said , I'm not familiar with all this : you mean to modify the 6.1 rom to include the unlocked bootloader ?
If I don't do this, I will have to flash first the free bootloader before flashing any other ROM ?

I've just implemented a Monet SSPL (SoftSPL) which allows you to flash a special USPL (UpdateSPL)
Once you have installed (flashed) the USPL you can flash any Monet ROM updates, i.e. you can flash any official or cooked ROMs.
This SPL is based on original Monet 1.05 SPL but includes 3 patches:
1) g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = 0 (set 32)
2) Does not check Model & Vendor ID
3) Does not check signature*
(*) code must be formally signed i.e. contain properly-formatted signatures on the right places, however no checking is performed against them.
This means you can flash ANY ROM to your Monet after running USPL on it, no need to pay for CID unlock anymore!
The USPL will *not* help you to SIM unlock your device. I can make you a reasonable offer to SIM unlock your device.

Note that the USPL is overwritten after you install a full rom. It's not recommended to install a full rom, normally you only flash a rom component such as the OS or a splash. To check if the USPL is installed enter bootloader mode (tricolor display) there should be written "SPL-1.05.USPL".
Some users tested the SSPL and flashed a splash and two users (kioo and pptapple) succesfully installed the USPL
Anyway the risk is entirely yours !! Don't blame me if you brick your phone
Instructions to install USPL:
1. connect the phone with a usb cable to your PC and make sure Activesync is ready (green icon)
2. run the file SSPL.bat on your PC, it will transfer the SSPL to your device and start execution
3. the display of your Monet may turn dark, just ignore that
4. Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe (Monet USPL - RUU.zip): this will flash the USPL to your device
The attachments include:
Monet SSPL-JumpSPL.zip : SSPL
Monet USPL - RUU.zip : USPL
Splash.zip : original Monet splash screen (if needed you can flash it with ROMUpdateUtility.exe)
Radio.zip : original Monet radio (if needed you can flash it with ROMUpdateUtility.exe)
monet-backup.zip : you can make a full backup of your Monet with this script (run monet-backup.bat)
Darksimpson htc romtool.zip : you can convert any rom part in .nb format to flashable .nbh format
OS.zip : Original Monet Lobster WM5 OS (if needed you can flash it with ROMUpdateUtility.exe) Download link here

I am happy to trial the 6.1 Rom too, I already have a monet that has corrupted memory and cant boot into active sync (just white screen). Any idea how I can get into bootloader device on the Monet? Since I cant get into Activesync I cant install the USPL.
