Installing and running Regedit on phone - HTC Startrek

I'm a total newbie to Windows Mobile. Trying to app/registry unlock my phone, I downloaded regedit.exe and the regeditSTG2.exe to my pc. I've tried dragging them to the Qtek 8500. The regedit.exe is on the phone, the STG2.exe doesn't even appear. Trying to run the regedit.exe from the phone results in nothing - leftclicking just shows up a "General" properties tab, with file type, Location \ (must be root, right?) , file size etc. Right clicking offers cut, copy, shortcut, delete and rename.
1. So how do I run it?
2. The regeditSTG2 is so called "digitally signed." What does this mean, and what benefits does it bring?
3. Why wont the regeditSTG2 allow itself to be dragged onto the "mobile device?"
Thank you

There is a regeditSTG2 in cab-file, just copy to your device and launch. You can run it from Start Menu

Thank you Erofich!
I want to flash your 6.1 ROM according as per instructions:
1) make an application unlock
2) copy content of SSPL to the root of your device
3) run SPL.lnk
4) run ROM Update Utility.exe on your PC
5) follow the instructions
6) wait until flash process will be completed
My current ROM is 1.02.252.1. I want to have the safest possible flash possible. The application unlock contains two pieces, one the regeditSTG procedure, and two, the SDApplication unlock tool.
Q1. If I understand correctly that is step one above, right?
However, I've seen some comments about the RadioQuote:

where you answered that
Just flash latest cingular rom first, and flash wm6.1 over it
Q2. a )If I flash the latest cingular rom first, wouldn't I then still need to CID unlock the device, or is there a way to use the SSPL for that process? b) If I don't flash the cingular rom first, what will happen to the radio?
Q3. Someone, I believe it was Raskell, posted a back up procedure in case of bricking which entailed extracting and *.nbh file from the official RUU installer. a) Where do I find the official RUU installer? b) If I do not follow this back up procedure, can I still do it if I fail - that is can I do it even if the 8500 would be non-functional?
Thanks

No, application unlock contains only one piece regeditSTG procedure for any Qtek or i-mate ROMS. And SDA Applcation Unlock for Cingular ROM

You can flash via SoftSPL, BUT it will be safer if you will make a SuperCID procedure (but pay attention to all the steps, otherwise you can crash your radio and it cant be recovered)

I don't know. But this sequence (any ROM->Cingular 4.1.502.5 official rom->any custom rom) already tested many-many times.

Final Upgrading Guide and Questions Answered

Ok... now this is going to be a work in progress and an answer to most questions...
To all pof, Des and Sleuth have done a great job in getting the tools together so we can flash our devices...
1. To all who want to SuperCID your device no matter what ROM version you have and no matter what Radio BootLoader version you have you can use POF's version 3 unlocker found here http://pof.eslack.org/hermes-unlocker/
2. Once you have SuperCID your device you can now load extracted ExtRom, OS, and radio roms (radio can only be done if you have radio bootloader 107 or less) to do this goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG
3. For all of those not interested in ROM cooking and flashing cooked ExtROM's all you need to use is des's SSPL tool... just copy it onto your device and run it... the SPL version should say SPL-1.09.des. The tool can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293651
4. Just to clarify... once you have flashed radio bootloader 108 onto your device it is possible to do Extracted Radio only upgrades please read edit 3 below..... to check what radio bootloader version a radio rom has goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms and radio only upgraded require SPL 1.04... for instructions on how to flash that goto http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_BootloaderMFG
5. if your device is unusable please refer to here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems
appologies for all the links but thats what the wiki is for guys... lots of reading but it is all worth while in the end...
and if ive missed anything feel free to add...
edit 1... The reason you SuperCID your device is to enable flashing of any SPL Bootloader versions, extracted OS roms, extracted ExtROM's and to an extent Radio ROM's (only if your device has RadioBootloader 107 or less).... but SuperCIDing your device voids the warranty... if your just looking to upgrade your device to a newer ROM and are worried about the warranty just use des's SSPL tool... read point 3 above...
edit 2... the SSPL tool... you need to copy this onto your device while windows mobile is running... if your device is not in a usable state refer to point 5... once its finished copying click on the exe and run it... it will put your device into a 'Service' mode and with bootloader versions IPL-SSPL by Des and SPL-1.09.ds... all you need to do now is choose which shipped original rom you want to use to flash your device with... see here for options http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades
edit 3... now who wants the good news woo hoo!!!! i have managed to create an unsigned nbh file and flash it onto my device... now please all follow these details step by step
1. download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294046
2. download the appropriate Full Shipped ROM from either the Trinity or the Hermes of which you want to rip the Radio from
3. download this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_NBH
4. extract the RUU_signed.nbh file from the exe using winrar or something
5. open a command prompt and point it to the same folder where you extracted the files you downloaded..
6. run nbhextract to extract the radio rom... delete all other .nb files except for 05_GSM.nb
7. edit the text file for nbhgen and delete all information except for this
HERM100
SuperCID
1.23.707.6
USA
300,05_GSM.nb
8. run nbhgen.. this will generate the nbh file required to flash your device...
9. copy SSPL to your device.. refer to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293651
10. execute SSPL on your device which will put you into the 'Service' mode,
11. now run the RomUpgradeUT.exe file... and your done!!!!!!!! any questions just ask...

Hello all,
I am a little confused about the issue of going back to BL 0107 if you flash Radio 1.33 + or Rom (say) 2.05 because you end up with BL 0108.
Isn't it true if you use Des's SSPL tool you can flash any ROM, so you can flash an older ROM, then you end up with older OS, Radio and Extended ROM as well as IPL and SPL??
Also if you use Boot loader 1.01 MFG, then upgrade individual components using MTTY??
With the latest developments over the past few days, it looks like Hermes is now an open field where one can try whatever combination as long as you can boot into service mode or Windows.
I would appreciate a comment from the developers confirming or explaining the current limitations.
Simple.
Please Answer if you are sure
Look !
my tytn have bootloader 1.09 and during upgrade it stopped , that is to say my phone das no OS so I cannot pass "WIndows Mobile " Screen unless I upgrade fully upgrade rom . I have read and tried all suggested ways but they are not useful , because bootloader 1.09 checks CID but my CID is corrupted .
I need a way to pass CID check same as SSPL . but I cannot copy any thing to phone . The only way which can help me , is a file which able to pass phone's CID check from PC .

ok now you have to open an mtty session... download this ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Cooked_ROMs/SPL-1.01MFG_Pack.zip
1. Disable 'Allow USB Connections' in Activesync
2. Open mtty.exe
3. type \\.\WCEUSBSH001 in the port section and click ok
4. press 'Enter' twice and type task 32 and press enter
4. type info 2 and tell me what is displayed...
What about writing an app which fully identifies all Hermes specs? It should open a message box and answer whether device is SuperCID, which IPL, SPL, RBL, ROM, Radio and if readable which ExtROM. Wouldn't that be nice? Every noob could give all the information viable for all others to help.
well if the user was to go and look at the device information application in 'Settings' > System then can find out what radio rom version they have when in turn if they look at the table in the wiki they can tell what version of Radio Bootloader they have... but i will investigate writing a little app... shouldnt be too hard...

Just to be clear:
Can you put the new "RUU_signed.nbh" from step 8 above back into the full RUU....._ship.exe using Winrar and run it that way too?
This is very cool! So we can change to any radio ROM (upgrade or downgrade), but technically we will still have radio BL 108, but who cares.

Hi Walshieau,
After I follow your edit 3 step, when I try to upgrade the radio,
it shown Error 262. What's that error message for?
Thanks
did you copy SSPL to your device and run it before you started the upgrade???
Am I right in thinking I could mix and match all the components with this tool?
I.E. extract the o.s. from one full update then extract the radio from another, then use "NBF generator" to merge them and flash them all at once?

[solution] G4 SoftSPL Flash any ROM to CID locked G4 [UPDATED]

HTC Wizard SoftSPL (sSPL) For G4 Wizards
FAQ:
What is SoftSPL?
-SoftSPL is a patched SPL that will temporary unlock your CID (untill reboot).
-It will be copied to your device and loaded (BUT NOT FLASHED!), the device is tricked to believe it has SuperCID (More accuratly g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel will be 0 ).
Why Temporary?
-1st because of warranty, since there is no CID block written, warranty isn't void
-2nd with this tool it's not necesarry to have a permanently unlocked CID.
-3rd it's safe, it doesn't flash CID block or IPL/SPL by it's own, but choose your ROM you want to flash wisely!
Isn't shelltool the same?
-no shelltool will strip the rom, and then flash it with pdocwrite, where sSPL is a bootloader which says it has supercid, thus tricking the RomUpdateUtility.
But can I make it permanent?
-Yes it can make it semi permanent, with HardSPL (it's the same trick, but now a patched SPL is flashed to device).
What does Soft SPL change on my device?
-nothing, it's loaded into memory. Only the ROM you choose to flash with the RUU will change your device.
USE AT OWN RISK
How To use?
If you don't know what a G4 safe ROM is, don't even try to upgrade!
WILL NOT WORK IN VISTA
-Unzip SoftSPL.zip
-copy the nk.nbf file from desired G4 safe ROM to the SoftSPL folder
-Fully Connect to ActiveSync
-Run START-sSPL.exe
-the Screen of your Device will turn white, don't panic, this is normal
-SoftSPL will now run the RUU, proceed as usual (the screen of the wizard will stay white during whole process, again don't panic!)
DO NOT PROCEED WITH RUU if the screen isn't WHITE, OR when in bootloader SPL version isn't 2.21.olip
G4 Safe means:
-No IPL/SPL and no Extended ROM.
Many Thanks Go to:
Olipro: For patching the latest SPL
SAA044: For testing all the versions, and keeping his head cool when the first hardSPL killed his Wizard (beyond repair!), and for keeping on testing the new versions with his brand new Wizard!
Whiterat: For all his technical and moral support, without him it wouldn't have excisted.
Pof & Des: From whom I took the idea, and some of the scripts.
NB. This sSPL is not for G3, it will proceed with updating, but in the end OS will not be written, tested it with my own G3. Beware of the SPL/IPL (there is danger to flash G4 spl on your G3 due to the fact you are using a G4 sSPL, the RUU will probably think it's running from a G4 device!).
NB.2 If you want to mtty in stead of flashing a ROM, place mtty in the folder and rename it 2.exe
[EDIT:12-september 19:54] I updated the file for a confirmed working RC1 (v0.1) WITH the missing dll [/EDIT]
[edit] 23.09.07
Some people reported that enable rapi does not always work, if that is the case for you, you can try to replace the original enable-rapi with the one attached here.

3rd It's not different from an ordinary flash, you can go back to any ROM that is G4 safe.
4rd G4 safe means no IPL/SPL (Extended ROM hasn't been tested yet)

My way
For anyone interested i did it like this!!!!
1. Flashed back to latest origenal rom.
2. Copied the file into shelltool directory to verify the ipl/spl status. (Normally most roms here dont have ipl/spl in it, never hurts to check though.
3. Used wizard service tool to make sure the enable rapi command is installed on device.
4. Copied the desired nk.nbf file into softspl (root) folder.
5. Ran the main exe file without errors and had wm6 flashed successfully.

yup, that is nice.
I tried and it didn't work at all. I tried 3 times already from the time I downloaded the rar and still no success.
First time I tried it I had Titanium 2 installed and it was a no go even though the IPL/SPL were 2.26.0001
Then I tried twice using the official T-Mobile rom with IPL/SPL 2.26.0001 and followed the directions provided to a t and no success...
I am going to try once more tonight since it is 3:25am and then im giving up for the night.
Oh and I am trying to flash faria's rom. Think that might have something to do with it?

Here is exactly what my device is doing:
I flash back to the official T-Mobile WM5 rom for the 2.26.0001 IPL/SPL adn then let customization finish and then try to softSpl but with no success. On my MDA, it asks me to confirm something and the screen never turns white like it is supposed to do.
I have tried this several ways and on 2 different roms.
I have tried flashing back to T-Mobile official but skip customization 2 times and use softSpl to flash faria's rom and it failed. I tried once after waiting untill customization is complete and installing faria's rom and it failed once again.
I also tried installing cert_SPCS.cab and installing enablerapi.cab prior to running softSpl 2 different times, once before customization and once after customization. both times failed. this time I was using Black Diamond 2.0 instead of faria's rom to see if it was just the rom.
Not once did I ever get the white screen and not once did it flash successfully using this method.(At least not for me)

FUNDAMENTAL requirement before trying a WM6 upgrade

I have been reading all across the forums how to CID unlock, upgrade etc. However, I am not able to find the ways to do seeminly essential homework before trying to upgrade. These for me are:-
* Finding a way to completely backup all the stuff from original tytn. Like ROM, SPL, IPL, Radio, CIDlock etc. I feel that this is important as if ever I feel like going to the tried old one I should be able to and to preserve the warranty also. Also, the method to roll back if needed. This should be covering re CID locking the phone etc.
It makes sense to create a way to bring the phone to its completlely original shape if we need it
Thanks
Alber

* Finding a way to completely backup all the stuff from original tytn. Like ROM, SPL, IPL, Radio, CIDlock etc. I feel that this is important as if ever I feel like going to the tried old one I should be able to and to preserve the warranty also. Also, the method to roll back if needed. This should be covering re CID locking the phone etc.
It makes sense to create a way to bring the phone to its completlely original shape if we need it
Thanks

You do not need to back up your spl, ipl, etc. because if you need to roll back you can just reflash them on, and they can be found around here and in the wiki.
You cannot un-CIDunlock, but if you use hardspl v7 it will "trick" your phone into thinking it is (when in reality it isnt) so that you do not have to actually unlock it. If you ever need to send it in you can just flash the old spl over it.

So you mean that hardspl doesnt CID unlock it? But isnt there really a way to extract the original components and then put them back again ?
thanks

HardSPL does not CID unlock. pof's Free Unlocker (a sticky thread) does the SIM and CID unlocking. HardSPL is a new set of bootloaders allowing upgrade utilities to access and read/write to the phone. The most important aspect of this (besides bypassing the CID check) is the security - it has some overwrite protection built in to prevent you from accidentally corrupting the bootloader area, rendering your phone a brick. HardSPL is a safety measure.
If you check THE WIKI here on xda for the Hermes, you will find some stuff on extracting. It is most probable that it will be FAR easier to find new versions of everything you have, rather than trying to back up and restore. The wiki contains MANY shipped ROMs to allow you to restore back to basically the original condition. LOOK HERE for MW5 shipped ROMs and LOOK HERE for WM6 shipped ROMs.

what about the radio upgrade
the htc108 thing
its confusing
on pof's sticky it says to downgrade the radio if u have the htc 108..
but on the radio upgrade sticky, it says u can upgrade any phone[hermes] using custom ruu..

Thanks a lot for the reply, I appreciate the time you spent in expaining this to me and providing these links.
I was wondering if HARDSPL is like shelltool where it will only allow upgrade or flashing of OS part. So, once I use the HARDSPL and flash say HTC official WM6 release or Dopod WM6, will I be ableto to get the bundled radio and SPL and IPL upgrades from these ROMS? and if yes then will HARDSPL get replaced by these SPLs and IPLs built into the ROMS? One more thing, will an upgrade like that can brick the phone as if I rum the official ROM it will try to upgrade the SPL and IPL (I am not sure).
What is the preferred way of upgrading ? unlocking CID by the tool or HARDSPL ?
I have read somewhere that lockwiz tool used for Wizard can save CID also and some tool and put it back also but I dont know how and if the same tool can do it for hermes?

Alber

Most cooked roms are os only, but a few have a radio, etc. included. If its os only, flashing will only change the os. You can separately flash radio.
Hardspl is the best because its reversible. Well thats not the best word to describe it....id say because its not permanent. But u know what i mean

Mcorrie1121 is right. I will add a couple of things.
1. HardSPL is not *necessary* for flashing anything, it only makes it safer and allows you to flash ROMs with CIDs that do not match your device without CID unlocking. Your ROM is basically a few parts - OS, Radio, IPL, SPL, ExtROM, MainSplash and SubSplash. The HardSPL will replace the SPL only. Most non-carrier ROM releases are OS only. Most carrier ROMs (as you pointed out) have ALL of these things. As Mcorrie1121 pointed out, you can easily find a radio - check the wiki, search, etc.
2. Once you have upgraded to a cooked ROM (and HardSPL), you will still be able to upgrade to a Shipped Official ROM. You may need to "unpack" it and use the CustomRUU instead of the shipped updater. That is OK though.
3. HardSPL will not allow overwriting of the IPL/SPL except by another HardSPL (see mrvanx.org downgrade guides). You will not have a problem. It will keep your bootloader zone safe.
4. I don't think there is a preferred way. Some people unlock CID, others do not. There is no reason to *not* unlock it, unless you plan to send it back - and I have never heard of someone getting service rejected for this reason. Wring ROM, yes. CID unlocked, no. That said, maybe try without CID unlocking first and then if you find you need to do it for some reason, then do it. You really do not have to do it, since the Custom Updater bypasses the CID check anyway.
5. Regarding the 0108 Radio BL issue, don't worry much about that - it is an old problem. Just don't go below whatever version you have now.

Dear, please help me with one thing-I am terribly confused about the procedure to upgrade my JASJAM to WM6. I understand that one way is to CIS unlock it and install on it the official and dopod releases of WM6. I wanted to know how can I do the same using the HARDspl. I know that I can install the HARDSPL but after that what ??? Can I then run the offcial RUU from HTC or Dopod or I am supposed to do it some other way as I am afraid that it may contain the SPL and IPL and can break by phone OR I have to use some customRUU (I dont know) OR I am supposed to extract the OS from these official releases (I dont know how) OR ..
Can you please clear these confusion??
I have:-
* I-Mate JASJAM, CID locked i suppose as when I run official HTC or dopod it says this update utility is not for this
*I really wanted to save my devices complete state and a way to revert it to the way it was like SPL, IPL, OS, Radio, CID lock etc.
PLS pls help

CLICK THIS LINK
There are upgrade guides there and guides to put it back the way it was (OS, Radio, IPL, SPL, MainSplash and SubSplash) - it is all covered.
The upgrade guides will get you through the upgrade process. The only thing you need to do after that to use an official upgrade is to unrar (using winrar or something) the executable file and take the nbh and us it with the CustomRUU, which can be found HERE .

Hi ady
before we go further I need to know 2 things.
Do you have a HTC athena or variant.
Did you use the wrapper and follow the instructions from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316846
hello, i have htc x7500 advantage and i want to install the english wm 6 rom, wwe. first i have to unlock it, right?
I didn't used that. if i will, i don't need anymore athenaunlocker? what's the difference between athenaunlocker and hard-spl from that link?
You have to explain WHAT HTC wm6 ROM you want to install First
If you have and old WM5 x7500 just register on www.htc.com and download the HTC OFFICIAL WM6 update for YOUR language!!
ONLY
If your X7500 is SIM LOCKED you need to UNLOCK it first(wrapper isn't for SIM Unlock) and ATHENA UNLOCKER meets your needs
i wanna install this rom: AP Dual 3.0.

If you want the AP3 0r other roms in the sticky made for SPL 1.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397518
then you should run the athena wrapper that Olipro has made to be as much foolproof as possible
As he says "your device MUST BE RUNNING WINDOWS MOBLE and MUST BE SYNCED WITH THE PC.
to recap: IF YOU ALREADY HAVE 1.20/1.25, DO NOT USE THIS."
It seems that you must use the same USB port as well.
i have allready downloaded that rom, all i need to know is the difference between that 2 files: activeunlocker and hard-SPL. And, as I saw on a post of that link, i can use one or other from that files. now, tell me, activeunlocker should I copy on PPC? (i will receive it tomorrow, and i want to know what i have to do) Because from PC doesn't work, it gives me an error.
ATHENA UNLOCKER is needed ONLY if you have to unlock the SIM too.
E.G. If your phone, WITH ORIGINAL ROM, can use ANY SIM, you don't need to run ATHENA UNLOCKER
As CMONEX said here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2030747&postcount=81
wrapper is hardspl + customruu
unlocker is hardspl + sim unlocker
SPL means a part of "bios" used ALSO for defining your device language and vendor (HTC, T-Mobile, DOPOD,...) and avodi flashing a "non original" ROM
To flash ANY rom you need to overcome those informations. You can do this running an application, but if something goes wrong during the FLASH and your device doesn't start anymore... you are lost. You can't run the application again, because you haven't the OS!
HARD SPL has been developed to avoid this problem. It is a NEW SPL (1.2 or 3.x) developed from OLIPRO (and CMONEX too for 3.xx) flashed into your device. it is IN the "BIOS" so, even if your OS doesn't start, you can flash ANY ROM
Both, WRAPPER and UNLOCKER will flash HARDSPL. You need only the WRAPPER if your phone can use any SIM!
When you choose the ROM some are build for the SPL 3.x and other using the 1.2 SPL.
With WRAPPER or UNLOCKER you have the 1.2 SPL release, if you want to test a 3.x ROM you need to flash the AP4 rom.
The only differences between SPL 1.2 and 3.x are the "partitioning" of the device. AP4 needs more space for the system files, then the 3.x SPL was developed to increase the System Partition. SPL 3.x flashing IS ONE WAY ONLY, (since Cmonex relase the tool to go back): if you flash AP4 you CAN'T flash any origninal HTC ROM

Listen to what Sergiopi said.
You will always get an error running these programs unless you have an activesync connection to the ppc when you run the program.
The way you were talking I thought you had already tried to run it on your PPC

[Q] Reverting to factory default consultation needed pls?

Due to display flickering issue which is worse and worse from day to day. I decided to restore stock rom for my T-Mobile MDA Vario IV to make a complain.
My device is Security Unlocked, with different Radio and ROM so i would like to know if my steps for reverting is ok. I do not want to make my device bricked!!
I have EXE file with ROM from T-Mobile www which includes all like SPL, RADIO, ROM etc.
So my conclusion what i have read is that i have to:
1) restore stock Radio
2) remove security lock
3) remove Hard-SPL
4) flash stock ROM from EXE file i have already downloaded. It will overwrite 1.90 SPL to 1.69 which was my default and overwrite ROM too.
Can anyone experienced with this stuff tell me if i am right? thank a lot.
With the steps you have listed you will be good to go. Just follow your steps and you are good.

I am not a noob i have read this many times, so i know what is the "official" routine. But this (official) routine was, i think made, for people who had no choice (as me with original exe) and they had to dump their ROM first, and than reconstruct part by part. And because the dumped ROM will never be CID safe, they had this tutorial 1. Radio, 2. OS, 3. SPL and it rally does make sense for me.
But i am lucky, because my operator (T-Mobile) shipped the device with EXE, which contains all the stuff (Radio, SPL, OS, RUU) and it is directly for my CID. So that is why i think my tutorial in the first post will work. And i think it should work though if i only remove Security unlock and Hard-SPL. Because it will overwrite all partitions in device even restored Radio, OS etc.
So am i right ?
your right and to save you step dont worry bout radio removal since its in the stock rom pack like u said just load the 1.90 for warrenty in the hard spl thread and relock your phone as an extra precation(some carriers care some dont) the run the exe and ure golden
ps. PimBackup is your friend (just in case u forgot)

Dear not a noob,
You asked a question, and you were given the "official" routine. If you knew the "official" routine, and you were going to do it your way anyway, it kinda makes your question unnecessary. I remind you that you are not the only person who reads these forums. In fact more than a hundred have read this thread. Some of these people "noobs" or not may want to know the "official" routine.
I personally don't care what you do or where you put your phone. But if anyone reading this thread follows the official routine they will not have any problems.
I understand why people don't like answering questions in these forums. No good deed etc etc......

Dear Ray,
you did not understand my question. That is all that i can say about it. I know about official routine to restoring stock defaults, but i was asking if my routine could lead me to same result. Because as from what i have learned in this forum this routine should lead me to the same result more easier way because i have RUU with stock ROM direct for my CID.
Your way i have to first extract nbh image from exe. Second i have to extract each nb from nbh. Third i have to make nbh from each nb, radio is not necessary, because it is already here. And for fourth my SPL is 1.69.0000 which is different from SPL contained in the Hard-SPL removing pack and it does not work for me just to replace the SPLs. And until now i did not find out why. Someone few months ago told me that i can use the SPL from Hard-SPL removing pack (1.90.0000 i think) and then overwrite it with my stock ROM package, which will restore my stock SPL and Radio, OS again as well. So official routine works for those who had to dump their ROM to backup their stock ROM, those who were not as lucky as me to have stock ROM with RUU for their CID. This procedure, i personaly think is OK, is not covered here on the forum, and that is why i was aking for blessing from someone more involved in this problmes...is it ok now?
PS: anything i can flash after removing Security Lock and Hard-SPL is my stock ROM and that is what i have. So it should work if there are not some any other things which i have missed somewhere!
Tom
bah dont worry bout them crackheads say i can speak from experience that your way work since thats exactly what i did last week only att exe pack and it did overite the 1.90 stock spl, changed to 1.95 in my case, like u say along with the radio and os. only diferance is i never security unlocked my phone sincei was happy with the raphel radios . now im happy with my new(well refurblished ) fuze.
p.s. i had defective screen too incase you were wondering
Everybody play nice
Ok, that being said, since you have the "official" exe from your Carrier, all you really have to do is:
Run the .exe from your Carrier - this will replace the stock Radio, ROM, and boot splash.
Install the warranty stock SPL 1.90 from the Hard-SPL thread (using the Hard-SPL RUU, of course).
Re-run the .exe from your Carrier, which will overwrite the 1.90 SPL with the stock version.
Other methods will likely work too, but IMHO, that's the easiest .

Positive. That's actually how I used to "flash to stock" in between custom ROM flashes.
