Am attempting to flash a WWE Rom onto my German xda2 following dcs's excellent post http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12101&highlight= but am stuck at step 9 because I cannot locate the ms_.nba file! Hi everyone I've had an XDA2 since Friday and have recently tried to upload a custom extended rom which I made from the original ms_.nbf provided on the o2 website. I have used er2003edit to edit the original rom and then used the provided HimaUpgradeUt.exe (0.9.1.0) to upload the rom. The rom uploads to 100% waits about 15 seconds and then just dissapears from my computer screen and the XDA2 is left blank. I then reset the XDA2 and am stuck in boot mode.
Does any one know if what I am trying to do is impossible, or if I am doing something wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have since been able to use my custom Extended Rom with modified cabs by using HimaUpgradeUt.exe to flash the Nk.nbf, ms_.nbf and Radio.nbf in one process.
So it appears that you cannot flash extended rom on its own? Surely you dont have to flash all roms just to get your custom ms_.nbf rom to work?
How to upgrade Xda II with Bootloader 1.06 and ExtROM 1.66.165 to ROM 1.72.00 with 1.72.104 ExtROM?
I've tried to start the himaupgrade.ut without format the ROM. It's didn't work. i've also tried to format the ROM before, then try to upgrade via bootloader 1.06. It didnt work again! Why? Anyone can help me?

firstly modify the rom and change the operator to O2 using er2003edit, which can be found on this forum. then try n upgrade.
one thing i would like to know where did u get the 1.06 version of bootloader was it already installed on your device or u have installed it, if u have then pls provide me the link as well.

I also have 1.06 bootloader. People said the once U upgrade, there's no way U can Downgrade it again. Is it true? Coz I just d/l 1.72.126 from iMate and I want to upgrade mine.

firstly download er2003edit, install it.
step1. Extract your rom 1.72 to a folder.
step2. now u will see 6 files, the files which need to be edited are ms_.nba, NK.nba, Radio_.nba.
step3. now open these files one by one and change the operator from T Mobile to O2. It will ask u password for each file, the password is as follows:
NK.nbf NK.nba password = 0x20040304
ms_.nbf ms_.nba password = 0x20040305
Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba password = 0x20040306
Step4. Edit all the three, dont change anything else and save it.
Step5. now run HimaUpgradeUt.exe.
Step6. It will start upgrading, it will take 1-2 minutes to start and the whole process will take around 1 hour.
thats it ur done.

It's already installed on my device.
I thought i've tried that way. (Changing the operator to O2). But it didn't start at all! Have you try it by yourself?

Niki, Have U tried this way before? Coz I might upgrade it on our 5th gathering. I need expert help.

currently using imate's 1.72 rom
yes i m currently using imates latest rom 1.72 it is working perfectly fine. u can try another way, press three buttons at the sme time.
1. press & hold the navigation button
2. press the power button & hold,
3. Now hardreset ur device.
it will take u to the bootloader mode, now connect ur to ur pc & run himalya.exe.
thats it.

when you say trouble what do you mean
if you have the shell tool allready then you have the instructions on how to flash you device what part of the instructions are you stuck on
i have used the shell tool countless times so should be able to help

3. i connect my device with activesync and setup Cert_SPCS.cab & EnableRapi.cab to the main memory and reboot it.
4. when i click on Get ROM info i didnt get any information, (please check the attachment)

The nk.nbf file is located INSIDE the Wizard_MB_1010811_21911 file you downloaded. Instead of just running the Wizard_MB_1010811_21911 program file, use winrar to UNCOMPRESS the contents somewhere onto your computer. After uncompressing the contents into a folder on your computer, you will see the nk.nbf file in the folder you just created. Just copy that nk.nbf file into the shelltool folder and run shelltool. then proceed with instructions to extract OS and Flash it to your device.
you need to extract the files by using a program i use this one zip genius link provided

once extracted you can find the file you need copy and past that file into the shell tool dir
it will then find it and you will be able to flash your rom
the best rom i have used so far is the wi6ard test rom wm6 you can find here http://rapidshare.com/users/IW25NT along with loads of other roms

I can see that you have IPL & SPL 2.21.
I have faria WM6 on my G4 device but it showes 2.18.001
And my batery is draining much faster than with MOLSKI 3.0.0. ROM
Is there any solution to it or not.

1) Take any full shipped rom NBH which contains the IPL you want.
2) Use nbhextract to extract it.
3) Use nbhgen if you want to make a NBH with only IPL.

Hey guys. i just picked up a 2nd 8525 today. For experiment's sake, I wanted to try to dump the ROM from my original 8525 and flash it to my new 8525. So, to keep from confusion ill define the two.
#1 - My first 8525 with specs in my sig
#2 - Cingular 8525 with WM5 and HardSPLv7
As you can see, I flashed hardspl to #2, and thats all I have done. I dumped my black2.5 rom from #1, and reconstructed it to an OS.nb using awaiter, imgfs tools, and custel's 2.5 as the spare OS.
I was thinking about flashing the 1.01mfg bootloader so that I could flash my os.nb to #2. But that does not include the extrom, right? So, what should I do about this? Should I flash a coplete cooked wm6 rom, and then downgrade the BL and flash my os.nb from #1?
Why dont you just use nbhtool to create a nbh and flash it using latest RUUWrapper and Hard SPL V7
can't you dump the EXT_FLA Part00 using pdocread and then write it onto your new Hermes using pdocwrite?

I think im going to flash a cooked rom to the new device (one that includes the cingular ext rom). after that I can make the OS.nb a .nbh and flash the new OS with RUU_wrapper and hardspl. thanks for the ideas guys!
