as4 with wm2005 usb - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Did anyone solve the problem of using asynch4 with wm2005 via usb?
I upgradee to os f version but now I have synch error....

disable your firewall(s) and anti-virus software before you connect the PDA. On my machine Norton AntiVirus blocks AS4. Disabling it for 15 minutes before I connect corrects the issue.

well it does connect, and synch time and date, but it does not synch contacts etc, it just gives synch error. I think i'll go back to 2003 if i can't solve it. snif

I know how u feel!!!!
Its on the ftp site of the forum under Himalaya2005/ActiveSynch4.0
it worked for me good luck

activesync 4.0 issues...change usb ports
Try swapping your usb cable to another usb port on your computer.
If sync doesn't occur on my first port I switch to my second port and voila, it syncs! Not sure why this is the case but it's a temp solution...

What Version of ActiveSync do you use?
I think PPC2003 needs a Version 3.7 or above.
Greetings, Kaputter
i have 3.7.1 the new version
1- Are you using a USB hub or direct connect?
2- Do you have the latest USB drivers intalled in your machine? ( You can check through control pannel or try a "windows update".
If you tried these and they failed, go to :
http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/t-shootactivesync.htm
He has a lot of experience with Active Sync

Please help me!!!

Any1 tell me Please!
Today i upgrade my I-mate PocketPC from WM2003SE (2.06) to WM 5.0 by Buzz. The process did very well and i got the Device HardReset. But when i connected my I-mate pocket to my laptop by Actrivesync 4.0 build 4343 i got the following problems:
1) My laptop created a new connection in Control Panel -> Network Connection -> Connection to local 2. Is that right or wrong ?
2) When i try to connect to my PPC it is nothing. Activesync not connected.
3) When i romove my PPC from the cradle and i open the activesync in PPC it said that activesync connected? Any1 tell me that is the held it?
Any1 tell newbie how to connect from my PPC to my laptop by Activesync right.
thanks
What Windows version are you running on the PC? XP with Service Pack 1?
Many users -including me- are unable to sync via USB with WM2005 because WM2005 needs a different USB driver that is part of service pack 2.
I use bluetooth to activesync.
Cheers

any solution bluetooth active sync over touch IX

is there any solution bluetooth active sync over touch IX yet "Cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a pc that supports" even if you create one it doesn't show incoming connection.
i am having the same issue i have set up activesync to recieve incoming connections on port which i have created in bluetooth settings, and nothing happens.
webcam plus , remote amp , cool camera , R2PC , all need bluetooth active sync . i wonder if there was a registry cab or dll fix
i'm having the same problem too.. went back to vii
I'm using the same base Rom as Touch X for my own personal ROM and I had the same problem

still shows same message on clicking connect via blutooth in active sync "Cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a pc that supports ..." i am using your rom only. com ports don't show new incoming ports which i guess is necessary.
after installing fix cab i reseted then refreshed partnership settings 3rd pic below and "serial port" changed to "active sync" but no use
screen shots below my pc is "JC" here

did you overwrite your bluetooth stack before?! I AM POSITIVE that this cab will fix your problem !!! POSITIVE MEANS 100% sure.
Hard reset, run the cab, setup the com port in your computer, set the activesync on your PC, then pair your phone, then activesync via bluetooth. if my explanation is vague read the help files.
This cab is all you need to fix the bluetooth problem and will fix your problem.
EDIT :I posted this at the same time with the above post
You don't have to necessarily install this on external_rom to work. If you haven't mess around with your bluetooth stack, you can just run this cab without hard reset.

thank you hma4,you are my man
p.s. if someone want to call hma4 for further support, call 01111111111111111 no matter of order of 1
hard reset and installing the file you gave does makes active sync via bluetooth possible but new problem encountered is it does not let usb active sync to initiate or work any further even if i use USB switch program and click on serial pc doesnt recoganise it any more ,but when i click on RNDIS which is set by default ,only then it recoganises and active sync animation takes place but it never connects device neither does give any messages ,i think what to do now ,do you have rndis drivers for wm6 winxp both or do i need winxp registry changes. Serial_Class in wm6 reg don't work too. although i changed it in previous time when bluetooth wasn't working .
summary : either bluetooth active sync works or usb active sync works it seems it needs a multiple registry entry to make them work properly .but they are not working together as they should.

I should think so.... as HMA4 is the creator of the ROM you mentioned, and he is talking about his PE (personal edition).
But I would assume that it is already build-in....

Flashing ROMs with Vista is unreliable at the best of times. If you have access to XP, use it!

Umm... I don't know...
try downloading vm ware, then install an XP operating system on that virtual image. You'll need over 1.8gb RAM, since you'll be running 2 OS's concurrently. Then install active sync and off you go!
The vmware download is free from their website.
(I did this to upgrade my Prophet - I was lucky enough to already have a VM+XP dvd from work - but I'm sure you'll be able to find an XP image if you look hard enough)

sure, dual boot, or a friend... or an old hard disk...
good job!
What is the main point of the error in Vista? is it a driver problem or is it caused by a bug in WMDC? Prophet can connect with WMDC on Vista and transfer data easily, so during the flashing procedure what is done by windows?
It just come ""not responding"" wtf!!!

Drivers... The RUUs for Prophet do not function fully with Vista - USB communication is handled differently.
Thank you for your reply..
So we will continue with xp for a while..
By the way, you are a moderator now! Conguratulations!
As for the VMware solution and USB ports - I didn't touch anything in the XP configuration, but active sync found my phone via the USB no problem, so I was able to upgrade simply by following the instructions here
