only radio stack

how can I flash only my radio stack? mine is 1.06. I want to upgrade it to 1.14. I already have the nbf file from iMate 1.72.162.
Thx alot.
Hi All,
please help me. I yesterday have only MDA1 and for flashing need to files RUU and RSU. And now i have (tomorow) new MDA2 and search new best FW for it. I hve only RUU172126WWE_imate.exe and no radio. Is need radio too? Or is all in one file (RUU172126WWE_imate.exe )? Where i can downaload new fw and radio? And best aplication for it. Meny fnx for reply and help.
arrgh...
in the exe everything is included... rom, ext-rom and radio...
Have fun
meny fnx. and is posible kitchen rom for new MDA2 or only for MDA1? Is posible, where? And Best of img for MDA is? And Where can I download?
Sorry for my very bad english.
There is no kitchen for XDA II ... you can modify the ext-rom as you need.
there are many posts here... but none answers the question of the topicstarter?
I have the same question. Is it possible to update only the radio stack and leave the rom and extended rom alone?
And if it is possible, will the update work without a cold reset?
thanks for your answers
calvin
radio stack only
yes you can upgrade the radio stack only. open the ROM upgrade with the radio stack you eant by unzipping it NOT running it. after unzipped, delete both the other nbf diles and leave only the radio stack nbf file in the directory. run himalaya upgrade from that directory. the first upgrade screen will tell you the radio version being replaced and not indicate any upgrade for the other two..
i have done this successfullly by leaving 1.72 alone and switching between 1.10, 1.12 and 1.14 radio stacks. a cold reboot is required, but a sprite backup of the 1.72 system with a 1.10 radio stack worked fine after restore to the 1.72 system with the 1.14 radio.
hope this helps.
steve
hey... anyone know where I may be able to get an imate 1.60 ROM from? Especially some of the older radio rom's... having no end of problems with 1.72/1.14..
@watchdogsdg
thanks for your helpful reply, I will try to update my radio stack.
And please give me instalation instrukcion for good fleash all and modify my rom. I can put to rom ICQ, NetFront, TotalComander, JpegView, MP3, Divx, ... And please give mi link for download all whot i need. And meny soft and games and Czech leng for XDA2. Meny meny fnx.
Sorry form my junior question.

Shall i stay with wm2003SE or upgrade to wm2005

hi to all
Shall i stay with wm2003SE or upgrade to wm2005
which is the best os to run
please advise....
Regards
Gugi
hi gugi_sat,
before giving an advice, let me remind you 1st that:
1. the wm 5.0 is not released yet & what we have is 'bm 2005' for "testing" purposes &
2. the future wm 5.0 to be released may or will not be available for himalaya devices (PH10B).
having said that, when you upgrade to 'bm 2005' you will come across several problems like hardware buttons not working, poor quality video & cam and incompatibility problems w/ some legacy apps.
my advice is to test drive bm 2005 and if you can tolerate or 'get around' with those problems, then keep it, if you run into problems, search the forum, if you run into a dead end refer back to point 1. above. otherwise, stay with SE.
btw, i'm using bm 2005! it is a 'breakthrough OS', a work-in-progress with on-going developments by fellow hima die hards & i don't have big hangups with its current problems & limitations! :?

The nice thing is: you can always revert back to SE if you would like to: so why don't you try it and see if you like it or not.
Me, like most WM2005-users will not revert back any more because in spite of the unsolved issues (HW-buttons, MMS, bad Camera) it's really a great OS: not only because of persistent storage memory, but also because it's very stable: I hardly ever reset my device since I installed it... This was not the case with the original WM2003 or WM2003SE that I runned for a while.
Cheers 8)

I don't have any problems with HW-buttons, they work Ok and yes, my bootloader is 1.2! (upgraded from w2k3se 2.20chs with HimaUpgradeUt.exe/CRC32:92934467, HimaClearJumpCode.exe/crc32:39ba29cc and HimaGetDeviceData.exe/crc32:942fbcf4, and with nk.nbf only! [no radio or extrom])
I don't send MMS very often but receive them frequently, so I use MMSd to fix that!
And camera is really bad for taking video (coz it writes in WMV format), but is Ok for taking pictures

question is
why did the guini pig cross the road
hmm i mean which guini pig will sign up for the road crossing
event
Noob question alert:
What is bluethoot radio for?
are you asking what the radio stack is for or what bluetooth radio stack is for ?
if the former then it's the embedded software which make the gsm phone part of the himalaya device run
if the later it's the software which control the bluetooth wireless comm which is used for activesync and headsets and gps and such
ty Rudegar, so it has nothing to do with streaming radio right?
I install this radio version...
It works fine... i can´t see any diference
sorry by my question guys.
is still ROM 2.20.07CHS the only ROM available for xdaII which supports hands free profile working well :?:

you have to perfom a real ROM update with HimaUpgrade Tool which can be found in the different here avaiable Roms. Just delete nb.nbf and ms.nbf (which are System and extRom), copy your new Radio-Rom to the Upgradefolder and start Upgrade; this way only the Radio Rom is being updated.
For safety reasons first watch the instructions for making a Backup and how to make ROM Update !

I believe you can just put it into bootloader mode and flash the WM6 Dopod ROM. A friend of mine did this recently.
i hv just done it. i did not encounter any major problem except after flashing it with the official ROM, the storage memory is very low ....

yes it is safe... but you need an activesync partner ship setup to installl HardSPL as it needs to push SSPL to your device... for more information read www.mrvanx.org

with updating/installing HardSPL the device needs to be in Windows with activesync connected so SSPL can be pushed to the device...
I trid to install HardSPL Version 7 (2.10.olipro).
I activesync connected and run RUUWraper.exe
I go through all the selection right and on the last page after I click "next" I press yes on my Softbank. but the flash download didn't started and the Softbank reset and go into the engineering mode where I still see :

radio stack upgrading

Hello everybody!
Could someone tell me if it's possible (and how to do it) to upgrade only the radio part? And where do i get the 1.47 (the last one?)? Now I have an Advantage X7500 wm5 1.25 with radio 1.38.
Thank you for your time!

I went to a combination of the 2.20 rom for x7500 plus radio stack 1.47 out of the x7501 by performing the follwing steps
1- Run OliPRO unlocker (all 3 steps!)
2- Flash to WM5 (you get radio 1.38)
3- Flash to WM6 x7501 (you get radio 1.47)
4- Flash to WM6 x7500 (radio 1.47 stays put)
Thank you!
I'll try your method.
Olipro or others, Possible to do separate installers for the Radio ROMs? I know they did this with the Wizard so that people could choose their radio independent of the ROM.
