My M1000 crashed. Now it will not load windows. It will not reset (hard or Soft) . It is just stuck on a black screen which says serial on the top...and v1.06 near the bottom of the screen. Can anyone help? Is there another way to hard reset an M1000 apart from resetting the bottom and pressing power simaltaniously
You are in bootloader mode ... your rom is maybe corrupt ...
put your device in craddle and flash it
If you flash it, it should work...
TofClock is right. I have a similar problem with my Wallaby. It just won't get past the Boot screen.. You may want to use XDATools and flash a new rom to the Himalaya. You could cook one or dump one to a SD card from another M1000.

Three days back,my SPV C550 suddenly hanged.I restart it by removing the battery.After reboot, it now only showing desktop with battery icon,signal strength indicator and the Unlock button(soft key) with Windows Mobile screen logo.I tried Hard reset, which cannot complete succeessfully.It also can't connect to Active Sync.
I also tried to flash the ROM from SD card,but it can't allow update because
my phone doesn't have a SuperCID.i unable to change CID because both SPV-Services and pdocread.exe need Active Sync connetion to work.
I searched all the forums,but didn't find any solution how to change CID without Active Sync.
Please help.
I had a similar problem with mine. The screen is the same as yours only varying with the sim card removed to a sim missing logo. Also mine makes the error/message noise repeatedly for a phew secoonds every half hour or so.
I just gave up in the end and admitted it was a brick

Well the TyTn has died and I'm still waiting on a refund on a dodge wizard so its time to dig out the old SPVs I have a working Tornado (the right soft key has packed up thats a little annoying) so am trying to revive this hurricane.
I have linked some pictures of what is dose display and as you can see it will load into boot loader but due to not being ably to unlock it I cant flash any of the roms I have found.
I have been trying to fix this now for well bloody ages on and off but a good straight 12 hours just recently and to no avail.
In short I need a way to unlock the phone without active sync. The only way I can think of being able to do this is with some kind of specific software through boot loader
Any ideas?
HELP PLZ DEAD SPV c550 During WM6 Upgrade
i hv made a mistake while upgrading my spv c550(HTC Hurricane) to wm6.
i have flashed the wrong spl SPL 1.01.0109 on my fone. that spl was of htc typhoon.
now my phone is not booting up.
when i press the power button the fone gives the white disply and nothing else happens.
i cannot even get into bootloader.
the charging function works when the fone is turned off.
when i turn on the fone it dos nothing not even chaging.
is there any way to get my old fone back...
help plz

i flashed a rom 2 weeks ago, everything went well. yesterday i wanted to flash another os but before i could flash it, it seemed to get bricked. It stucks on the "HTC Splash" (not the WM6 Splash). I read a lot of threads and wiki threads but i don't unterstand anything! What i've to do to unbrick my phone? I tried to flash another rom but after 0% of flashing a error appears.... flashing with sd card doesn't work, too it changes to bootloader after the "Loading..." screen
i havent got hardspl or something...
please help!
UPDATE: i got the sd flashing to work... same thing but: now it stucks at the WM splash, not the t-mobile/htc one...
You need to find out what SPL you have (I'm guessing 2.03 but if you have 2.10 olipro then its got Hard SPl on it) and then do a search for "bricked SPL x.xx". You will probably find a HEAP of posts. However, some advice that seems to recover a small minority (sometimes with the "No GSM" error) -
1st thing to do is do a hard reset. Both softkeys and reset with stylus. Hold in all buttons until it asks if you want to reset to factory. Press "R" on the slideout keyboard and the "Space".
Hopefully this will fix. If it doesn't, Put it in bootloader, connect to pc (make sure "Allow USB Connection" Active Sync settings have been unticked) and run the SHIPPED STOCK ROM. This is the rom the Hermes came with originally. This MAY fix it otherwise you're in for some major reading and hair pulling.
If you should fix this then PLEASE, for the love of god, Hard SPL your Hermes before going into the wide world of flashing.....

...but i think it doesn't work, because i flashed a shipped rom via sd card yesterday and the problem is still there... isn't there any way to put hard spl on my device, yet?
Try re-installing the stock rom again using sd card (if thatys how you did it last time), it could've been a bad flash. I've had those a couple of times myself. Just remember to install Hard SPL if you're successful as it makes it SOOOO much easier to recover from bad flashes.
Last thing to check would be if you have "bad blocks" using MTTY. If the boot sector has been stuffed up this may cause this problem. Do a search through the wiki, its been covered extensively...

Upgrade successful but now stuck
I have a Three (au) Dopod 838 pro, which I upgraded from the original Windows Mobile 5 to the Three Windows Mobile 6.0 ROM. Unfortunately I didn't read up on this site first, I thought it would be straightforward since it was a ROM from the manufacturer and all, so I haven't Hard SSPL.
The upgrade reported as successful and my PC disconnected but the phone won't boot, it sticks at the Dopod screen with some numbers at the bottom. They are:
M 05 R 1.47.30.10
S 04 G 32.80.7020.20H
B 07 D 3.54
I have tried hard resetting, and returning the phone to bootloader and reflashing the same new ROM image, always with the same result.
On the bootloader, it says
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.03
Is there anything which can be done or is it a trip to the service centre (wherever that is)?
Just checking - Hard reset = both soft keys above the dialler closest to the lcd and reset with stylus. Hold in until it asks if you want to reset to factory. Press r on slideout keyboard then space.
This is a hard reset, not just using the stylus.
Otherwise, you have a LOT of reading material to go through with (maybe) no actual solution.

Tried to flash ROM using safe SSPL with RUUwrapper.
At completion of flash both my mobiler & win mobile device centre disconected or lost connection with device, after soft reset will only load up to second HTC screen. How can I recover from this brick? device manager recognises HTC usb sync when plugged in but I can't connect to re flash rom.

Then flash your desired rom.

Got it unbricked & working, thanks to you I have a lot of trouble reading as I am leagally blind but get by with T2V & magnifiers most times. however searching threads is a lot harder than for most.

loulian, to make it easier to recover from bricks, It would be best if you flashed Hard SPL V7 from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
It won't guarantee a flawless flash but will help if something goes wrong by giving you a GOOD chance of recovery.
You can then use the sd card method and make life easier by not having to worry about pc crashes, cables being pulled, blackouts or those annoying "sync" errros.

Also if you have trouble setting up your Hermes after a flash/hard reset because of the alignment points being hard to see, It would be a good idea to download this -

It will, after you save the settings, allow you to use your PC to set up the Alignment point if you need to Hard Reset or flash your phone making it load the os to the today screen.

Sorry to ask a stupid question. I have the same problem, but when i try to flush it from a TriColor mode i get a communication error, it complains about activesynch not connected. BTY mine is cingular 8525 so i am trying to use one of the cingular roms.

today during hard reset .... I am stuck on loop of factory reset which is supposed to do hard reset but it does not
after powering up (after completing steps on the screen) the screen is snow white and nothing happens
when I take out the battery and put it back in ... it still gets me to the same point i.e. to hard reset screen yes/no (i.e. press action to restore factory default, press camera key to exit)
can anyone please tell me :
1. how to upgrade my SPL ?
2. how to solve a/m problem ?
and possibly where to find the latest wm60 English ROM for my spl that I can install from SD card

Hello everyone,i have changed my rom several times,everything was ok but as i run task29,and then when i lunched Miri & Dinik WM6.5.x 23569 v.17.4(2),my HD2 doesn't load and the blank screen that has the htc logo doesn't disappear.i have done every thing that it was said in this site(sd flash and so on,putting leoimg.nbh in the sd card and so on...) but it didn't work!!!
I wonder what should i do now?is it a hardware problem?

can you manually get into bootloader?
yes,with soft reset and holding the vol down button.
and what does it say next to spl in bootloader?
sorry,it seems that the information that i gave,wasn't so complete to be answered,
it is SPL-1.42.000.
ok, so any spl that ends .0000 is stock so you dont have hspl installed, and so cannot flash custom roms or radios.
This no doubt happened when you tried to flash a stock rom from sd card, because even if the sd flash fails, it will have reset the spl. (Example, say you have an o2 locked phone, you try to flash a tmobile stock rom, from sd card, the first thing it does is remove hspl, and THEN it does the cid check, , finds that its a tmobile rom and an o2 phone so the flash fails, making you think it just failed, nothing more, but in reality it has already flashed the spl removing hspl)
Get hspl2
run it, choose the hspl version you want (1.42.hspl, 1.66.hspl, 2.08.hspl, it doesnt really matter)
pick any rom you want to flash and flash it from usb.

i tried many ways to fix it,but the rom update failed all the time.i tried to flash hd2 through micro sd,so i formatted my memory card and then i rename "ruu_signed.nbh" to "LEOIMG.nbh", and i reset hd2 while holding vol down button.then the loading screen appeared, i thought that i solved the prob but i was wrong and the loading screen was still there,i even waited for a hour!!!but nothing changed.the last option was to state my prob here,and i did,and i received a reply from you sam,i dont know how can i thank u,only i can say many thanks and you did me a very big favor!
